Food good, Staff good, everything good, until bed time, a party in the Function Room kept me awake, people talking and arguing outside my room. I asked for a quite room checking in, no reply to my email on 13th May.

Hotel very nice, well-kept rooms also represent a fairly old fashioned. Good restaurant and pub, great breakfast buffet. Very nice spa with fitness area and swimming pool. I certainly consider it in my next visits. Without conventions the price is a bit 'high but for the short time you can also do.

Clean, spacious room.

Clean, spacious room.
Good location.
Room was missing soap.
The sports facility was lacking staff (one person only for registration, gym, pool, making coffee and smoothies)
Dinner was just horrible.
Do not order funghi pasta!!!
It came soaking in oil and were not cooked fresh, only reheated.

After a few teething problems I was settled into my room.
Rooms were spacious, very clean and comfortable.
The most important thing about the hotel was the service. EVERY employee their was fantastic, so friendly and mannerly, from the reception staff, right up to the manger on duty.
Unfortunately I had to leave before the end of my stay but I wish to thank the staff for all there help and I'll definitely be back.
Ps the owners should be proud of the establishment they have in operation.
Regards J.Kehoe

How do you judge a hotel?

How do you judge a hotel?
Simple, you judge on how your experience was from the moment you arrive in the car park. For me this hotel is one of the best. I met with the hotel manager (Paul) and was given the first class service all the way. The staff are polite, very professional, and are always willing to help.

Reason for my visit, it was my partner's birthday, I had asked them to do something for her desert when we dined in the restuarant, they didn't disappoint. The food is second to none. I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay.

Reading some of the other reviews, a lot of them are poeple who go home and write a review when they should of spoke to management before they left. I myself had a positive stay here.

A little piece of festive tranquility amid the mayhem! So lovely to be able to enjoy a peaceful catch-up with my sister in the cosy, festively-decorated foyer area of this fabulous hotel. Thank you Ashdown for putting me in the Christmas spirit! And the tea & cake were sumptuous too!

We had lunch in Gorey at the Ashtown Park Hotel. I had the angus steak in wine sauce and my companion had the beef stroganoff. The portions were large and well presented, as usual. I regularly eat at the Ashtown when I am in the south-east. However the food, on that day, was not quite up to their usual standard. Both dishes were over peppered. Some might like this but not me !

Because the weather was hot and sultry, we sat in the conservatory area. It was peaceful and pleasant there, and to add to the atmosphere, the sunny day dramatically changed to a torrential thunder shower.

Parking was good.
My regular readers know by now that I park in a disability parking area. The Ashtown have their disability areas clearly marked and beside the door. They are often full but the parking attendant will always find a suitable alternative.

And for all the Eagles fans reading my review, can you spot the Hotel California connection in the conservatory???

A beautifull hotel and very welcoming staff.
However, it was a getaway for one night of peace and quiet for me, which I didn't really get. We probably should have gone to a place with no family rooms, but this was my experience.
Huge room with one tiny window made air in the room really uncomfortable. There was 2 of us in a 4 bed room, I can only imagine how it would feel if 4 people were here.
Overall I had a great time, but wouldn't recommend for a romantic gateway....

Would highly recommend this hotel and it s staff. Donna from reservations was amazing and went above and beyond for our last minute reservation requests. The rooms are fab and extremely clean. The staff are very friendly and polite. No request is too big. The food was out of this world. The leisure centre was very clean and great facilities. Had an infant with me and was made feel very at ease. Would highly recommend and can t wait to go back

Usually when you book a hotel and your stay is during a wedding, or event, or any other disruptive activity the hotel will call you and let you know so that you can cancel should you wish to, or offer you rooms at a discount. Unfortunately not in my case, so I had to deal with music, kids running around, screaming for the entire night from 7pm to 7am the next day. If I hadn't have had a drink, I would have driven home that night. The hotel seems good, if not a little dated, but certainly lack 4+ star etiquette

Called in for food lovely service staff just a pity all the food wasnt the same . Sea food chowder with saffron . Nope never again, worst chowder I've had . No flavour in it only the saffron and the the few chunks of over cooked fish and nothing else in it .
I also had the chicken wing and have to say they where nice .

Okay.

Really enjoyed my couple of nights in Ashdown Park Hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming, delicious food, generous breakfast, comfortable beds, clean and warm rooms - all within an easy 50min drive of Dublin. Would highly recommend and I look forward to hopefully returning.

We stayed here last weekend and from the beginning of our stay we were treated so well. The lady at reception was highly accommodating to our needs , the food was outstanding and the staff were so friendly and very efficient. I had a treatment done in the spa , I loved every minute of this and again the staff were superb.
Very enjoyable stay and will definitely return to this gorgeous hotel.

Had a spa getaway with stay in the hotel there few months ago. Restaurant is fantastic, we enjoyed the food SO very much - you can feel the freshness and local ingredients they use. Spa was alright - we didn't have swimming caps, so couldn't enjoy all the facilities but still was lovely to chill in the jacuzzi :)

Went here for a quick bite on Sunday evening. Staff were friendly as always. Bar was not busy at all. However after ordering, our food (2 burgers) took 30 mins to come out, and when it did the order was wrong! Both a burger and a side were incorrect. Sent back the burger to have the same burger and buns reappear with just the item scraped off. Put on a new bun at least!!!! When paying and asked was everything ok i explained what had happened. Said it would be looked into. Disappointing experience. If paying 38 for two burgers everything should be spot on!!
