Since they have been taken over they are no longer...

Since they have been taken over they are no longer willing to deal on a sale.

We were trying to buy a large deep freeze, microwave and panel heater. Not willing to deal any more than less than $100 on a $2k sale.

And then we found out they did not have any freezers in stock.

Paid for install of a washing machine and they didn't connect the waste properly. Left water all over brand new laundry floor. When I rang them they passed me from one person to another never acknowledging fault. Poor customer service.

Poor and rude customer service when comes for after sales warrenty. The problemed vaccum cleaner didn't accept for two times saying needs more cleaning. Had to visit 3 times to handover for 40 min drive each time.

Shocking service....I know it wasnt a big ticket item but the sales rep Abir was too busy trying to sell me something else rather than making sure he was doing the sale he had properly....then told me I could pick up my product from another shop which was wrong...ended up asking for a refund after driving around for nearly 2 hours

Checked to see if the Breville Compact Espresso Co...

Checked to see if the Breville Compact Espresso Coffee Machine was in stock and verified that it was so I proceeded to order it online on 3/8/20. I was told that it should be delivered within a week (includes COVID wait time). Nearly 4 weeks and several (rude and unproductive) phone calls later I still had not received the machine.

I was told by several representatives that they had no way of finding out when the item was coming or where it was coming from so they could only say, "Expect it when we expect it". In the end I requested a refund.

Unfortunately, it seems to be common practice by this company to say things are in stock when in all actuality they are not, just search this thread for many instances of this.

I used to buy from The Good Guys for their reduced prices, but will take my business elsewhere and gladly pay markup for friendlier and more competent customer service.

Spent thousands of $$ at this store over a couple ...

Spent thousands of $$ at this store over a couple of years (double door fridges, 2 X largeTv's, $1600 coffee machine, Dyson etc), had a problem with a blender (got it as a present) that was out of warranty by a couple of weeks. Store person / manager said "bad luck" go see the manufacturer. Sent an email to head office & got a " we are sorry for that response & will talk to store manager" - no other response. Bad store, beware!!!!!!

My Good Guys emaby order from Essendon Fields stor...

My Good Guys emaby order from Essendon Fields store has been outstanding for a month. No reply to any message I have sent unless I escalate to Ebay for review. Unfortunately I bought an in stock item that actually didn't exist., and unfortunately bought a matching kettle which is obviously now redundant. Still no word from the Good Guys.

Update 01/09/20 I still have no reply from the seller.

Excellent homewares store for your electronic cons...

Excellent homewares store for your electronic consumer goods. I purchased a Pendo notebook from this store and found it extremely reasonably priced and of good quality.

Their range of quality goods in every department is extensive, and the staff are friendly and keen to assist.

Most weekends you will find a sausage sizzle stall at the front door run by the local charity where you can grab a bite to eat.

Staff aren t that friendly or quick to serve you. Walked in with a list of items I wanted, wanted to buy them and get out of the store as quick as possible since I was getting short for time to get to an appointment - oh my god, forget it, wasted 1 hour to get the items, pay and get out. Sales rep was a little rude and quoted different prices to before purchasing and noticed different prices on my receipt. When questioned, cashiers and sales rep walked off like no no that s the right price, bye! Stood there baffled! Was already late and needed the items so left but that was so rude.

NOT HAPPY ! DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE ! Bought fridge from them , they promised that it would arrive fully packaged and cardboard would be removed in house . No the delivery guy removed card board in truck and fridge arrived with 2 Stanley knife cuts on side of fridge . I rang good guys and manager promised to ring back in 5 minutes ! Well no one rang ! Okay , they don't get to do my new kitchen . I cancelled that appointment with them !

Rude arrogant staff that refuse to even honour their own advertising (price matching policy).
I sent the below email to their customer support and chased up a few times but received no reply.
Avoid if you don't want your time wasted.

"On Friday 16/05/2014 I entered the store with the intention to purchase a Samsung Tv model UA40H6400AW on the proviso that they were able to match an Australian competitor. I was refused this price match at Essendon Fields by a rather arrogant sales representative "Ross" because "it fell below cost price". I numerously stated your sale price guarantee and Australian Consumer Law and I was still refused. I left the Essendon Fields store and went out of my way to your store in Maribyrnong. As soon as I entered the store I was attended to by very helpful staff who ensured that I was well taken after. I was able to price match the TV so I purchased it and took it with me then and there. I wanted to bring it to your attention that one of your stores are not following your own price guarantee and wasting the time of your customers. I will not be returning to Essendon Fields store any more and I will be redirecting my future purchases to the Maribyrnong store."

Wrost store in Melbourne ordered a item online on 5th may and still have not got it. I have called them 5 or 6 times every time they come up new story and now they are saying the item is out of stock and we have transfer your order to Bendigo store you have to contact them, why would i have to contact them its your duty i did not order from that store why you did not just redund the money if you did not have the item. I am going to lodge the dispute with bank for the scam.

Very disappointed after purchasing several items 6 weeks before the items are required all items reserved spent over $6000. Paid balance organised delivery of all items only to find out 1 item not available none in stock in Victoria or from the manufacture. Not happy

I paid everything at once up front and spent 2 months waiting for my order of a fridge and washing machine!!
I had to call and remind them multiple times.
When the order finally arrived, they only brought the fridge!
Still waiting for the washing machine.
Not recommended, we will not be back - do not purchase from salesman Peter A.

I wish I could give less. The most disorganized team I have ever come across. Proceed with cautious. If anyone there tells you I will ask Tania to help you, just walk away and don t look behind. This manager must be the rudest, least organized, least skilled seller you would ever come across. Pathetic indeed.

Received an email for pickup, went to pick up and they told me I cannot because of a pricing error?? TCL 75" tv. No cancellation email or apology, simply a PayPal email saying I had requested a refund when I did not.

Wasted my time leaving work, and asking a favour from a friend to leave work and bring his van.

The worst customer service.... they have done something wrong and they did not even apologise. They were extremely rude on the phone. I suggest going to a different store. Even the store manager is rude... hanged up on my phone call because she doesnt want to help with a problem that they have caused.

We bought a Sony TV for $4500 of the good guys in essendon. Unfortunately the remote control stopped working after a couple of months. I was told that the remotes are not covered by warranty only the TV itself which is a lie. They refused to offer any help.
I will definitely never purchase anything again from the good guys.

Good Guys have always been my first choice if I ever wanted to purchase any white goods or any other goods. This is because I have had good experience with them when I first deal with them 8 years ago.

Today I went into the store have a particular thing in mind realising there were a cheaper price online offering by someone else. The staff was unhelpful, she's definitely need to be upskilled from customer service perspectives. Then I have the misfortunate to speak to the store manager - Kevin.

Kevin was worse - he is blunt, and condescending. You could also tell the employees are intimidated by him. He left the conversation bluntly after shutting down with no help or other options offer. A very power driven individual with limited care / service perspectives for his people both employees and customers.

Good Guys need to pay thorough attention into this to maintain its business.

Chose the pick up option from their eBay store and nowhere did it warn me that I would personally have to collect the item.

I rang them up to ask after I got my collection email was told noone could pick up my item on my behalf and that I should have read the "terms and conditions".

I asked if I could nominate someone and provide proof of payment and collection email etc to them but they just curtly replied no.

Even Australia Post allows other people to pick up packages on your behalf.

Horrible customer service.

This is the third time I have gone there and asked...

This is the third time I have gone there and asked for them to match a price from another major retailer only to be told that because it's on sale they don't have to do it. They are close to me so easiest to go there first. I don't really care that they don't match the price as they can charge what they like, but the way the staff act is rude and obnoxious. They advertise that you should come in and ask for their best price and that they will not be beaten and yet when you do you are treated as if you a scab. I am sick of our department stores complaining about people shopping online when you go in there and the customer service is slow, rude and often full of false information. With sales staff like this it's no wonder retail sales are struggling yet they still make no effort at customer service. I have always tried to support local stores but in this case I think I will buy from an Australian based online retailer who advertise for 30% less than his best price. I will not ever walk back into that store again. Would prefer to give them zero stars.

Worst Experience ever and the nightmare still continues. Stay away from the Good Guys Kitchens at all cost. It should be called the Bad Guys Kitchens.... Design completely crooked, initial site measure wrong, customer service extremely poor, incompetent staff with staff members blaming the issues on people internally... Looks good from the outside but completely rotten inside.

This store is hopeless - I go there because it is close by - but the staff are usually too busy talking amongst themselves or fooling around to serve customers. I've been in several times, and after hovering for about 20 minutes I complained to the store manager - who didn't know anything about his washing machine products - just reading off the signage - which I could do myself. I've been in a number of times, and never had a good experience. At the Maribyrnong store - they're usually popping out from every corner.

I asked a cashier WHY the service was so terrible, and she advised it was because they're not properly paying the staff. Pay peanuts - get monkeys. Shop elsewhere.

Electronic store. From fridges to TV. One of the sale staff told us today they don't have universal remote controls that will work with Chinese brand TV's. While they sell a Logitec one (I own exactly the same) that clearly does and another one that states: "Works with all brands.."!

Purchased a $4500 tv and 6 months later the remote broke. Went in there to see if it can get fixed or replaced. Was told tv remotes are not covered under warranty sorry nothing we can do. I contacted sony and they assured me that this is not true and they were more than happy to send me a new one.
Very disappointing experience with this company will definitely never purchase anything ever again!
