Nothing special to marvel over. It's a 4 min. trip to the top of the arch and a 3 min. trip down. It was freezing cold, "VERY tight spaced" and nothing to do but take a couple of photos of the city and/or ocean. There is a small museum that offered a plethora of information that could be rebutted ? Great news, if you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident that is medically determined to have a permanent disability that severely limits one or more life activities you get a free Lifetime Pass. With this pass you'll get $3 off the $12 admission.

Really an amazing thing to see. The structure itself is enormous. Being up inside is very fun, and feels safe. I was afraid that it would be way too scary to be inside of, but it felt safe and was a great place to view Illinois and St. Louis from. It has an amazing view and the outside of the Arch itself also looks amazing to just stare up at in awe. I love how this place isn't only an arch. It also has an underground muesuem and gift shop. The wait time wasn't too long, and was only about 30 minutes which is good for what you get. The ride up is very fun, but the "elevators" are very cramped with five seats and very little space. However, it does look amazing. There's a window out the front of the elevator to look at the staircase leading up to the top as you go up. Really a great place to visit.

Took my dad and his Navy pal to see the arch. He's from Boston and has never gotten to see. It took along time to actually get up there. I think we just went on a busy day. But so many movies and them just waiting to go up...that was the downfall. Overall it was a blast for them. They have an amazing museum down stairs with some great interactive features. Really awesome museum.

We have been here over 30 years ago. The museum showing how the Arch was built was better than I remembered. We did the movie, the cruise and tram up into the Arch and enjoyed every minute.

Had an amazing time, the museum was fantastic and very informative, the trolly to the top was a bit scary but facing away from the window helped immensely. The view from the top towards St. Louis was awesome, and I could even see the curve of the earth (sorry flat earthers)!

Majestic piece of engineering and architecture. The views from the top are just stunning. The museum is highly recommend too. Plus they also give you a free souvenir mug if you buy something from the cafe!

Was so worth stopping at first kids where a little sceptical at first but loved it once there and lots of history and info surrounding it which made it even better for adults who have a love for our country

First time visiting the Gateway Arch. It stands up against a back drop off the Mississippi River facing one direction and downtown St. Louis facing the other. No matter how you choose to photograph you will have a great backdrop. Talking a ride to the top of the Arch is a must. The ride up seems sketch though perfectly safe. Once up top you have a great for of the city from 630 ft above ground. All in all a fun trip to be had by all.

It was pretty nice guys. We went on a Friday late afternoon. It was busy but not too bad. Just don't bring anything sharp and you'll pass security. You can bring snacks and water bottles. They have a cafe underground. But we didn't bother because of the prices. Other than that it was nice. Have fun!

Nice paved walkways to the arch, signs directing you from every direction in the city. I highly suggest you Buy tickets in advance online, most days they sell out hours before they close and it s a long walk just to find out you can t go to the top! The Arch is just something you must experience at least once if you Visit St Louis! (Not the best experience for those who are claustrophobic as the tram to the top is a tight fit with multiple people- up to 4- and they allow quite a good amount of people in the top at one time so it is narrow and crowded. Definitely try to go during the week day so it isn t so busy!)

Was worth getting out to see. The park surrounding was very well kept. The trade off was the entrance was harder to find. If you have a large family it can get spendy to see the exhibits and tram ride to the top. Parking can be a challenge with a walk and there was alot of construction updating going on.

The whole experience was amazing. We purchase the movie and tram ride combo. Our kids enjoyed the whole experience. Just don't park below the archway where BUSSES park, you will get ticketed. There were at least 20 vehicles that parked there, all received a ticket/citation.

Truly a remarkable experience riding to the top of the arch and seeing the views from above. Looking straight down out of the windows is a bit of a thrill! This is a fun activity for the whole family.

Amazing time to spend with family, don't ever forget to take the tram ride to top of the arch which is almost 630 feet. You can view whole city far far away on a sunny day.Staff was very friendly and helped so many people in taking pictures. They gave us brief tour of the whole place and explained the history in making of this monument. It takes almost 4 and half minutes in the tram and it was fun. If possible they even allow people to ride with their own groups seperately. There was still construction going on in the park but visitors can still walk around and enjoy the place. We probably visited in off season hours and hardly spent time in security check and in line to get the tickets. You can get the tickets in old court house building. We really enjoyed the views from the top and walking around the park.

The renovations to the memorial itself and the traffic free expansion of the grounds all the way to Fourth St. are the best improvements possible. The entire grounds and facilities are so much more attractive and user friendly while still being highly informative.
St Louis can be proud of this one.

A landmark of St Louis! The newly renovated visitor centre will take you through the history of St. Louis and the building of the arch. Be sure to take the tram up to the top -- the ingenious pods that resemble an elevator / escalator / ferris wheel contraption are worth the ride alone... and you get a spectacular view of the city as bonus! Worth the ~2-3hr spent exploring the park and its surrounding lands. For cool shots of the arch, be sure to head north and look for the pond on the left.

If there's one thing you do on a visit to St. Louis, it's see the arch. The views from the top are absolutely terrific. I'd recommend watching the 30 minute documentary before going up the arch. It doesn't cost much more and it's filled with rich history. If you have an America The Beautiful national parks pass, be sure to bring it for a discount! I was kicking myself when I forgot mine.

The Gateway Arch is perhaps the most recognizable landmark in St. Louis. As a St. Louis native, I've been up to the top many times. You board a very small, oval shaped capsule and ride to the top, where you are greeted with some of the best views in the Lou... especially the Mississippi River. After viewing the city, you ride the tram back to the bottom.

There's also an interpretive museum that chronicles the birth of St. Louis, telling the story of Lewis and Clark and the Indian settlements that were the beginnings of this beautiful city.

The cost is reasonable and it's something that everyone can enjoy. A must do!

It s a gorgeous and impressive monument. Definitely worth the visit! The parc around it is nice and the boardwalk on the Mississippi river is great!

Go during the day, at sunset or at night. I loved it!

I didn t go up to the top nor visited the museum, but I heard it was worth it. When it s too windy, it s not very pleasant to go to the top (it shakes a bit but remains very safe).

Info: The Gateway Arch is a 630-foot (192 m) monument in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. Clad in stainless steel and built in the form of a weighted catenary arch, it is the world's tallest arch, the tallest man-made monument in the Western Hemisphere, and Missouri's tallest accessible building.

With the new renovations it's really impressive. The new museum has been updated and has a lot of very interesting and interactive parts to it. The new grass lawn spanning the highway is also a great addition and makes the arch much more accessible. Great landmark!!

The new grounds are beautiful and the museum is top-notch (and free!). Be sure to check out the cowboys that are wandering around, they are a definite highlite. The history is incredible and I can't wait to go back again sometime soon.

It's a very confined 5 seat "tram" car with only a 4 foot door to enter ... It's a 4 min ride up and 3 min ride back down... You can stay in the "observation area" as long as you like but it's just a pretty small walkway with 14 windows that are about 6 inches tall x 12 in wide... This is a great bucket list item that anyone can enjoy. Only reason I would not recommend is if you are claustrophobic, the elevators to the top are extremely small and they pack 5 people into them. If you can get past that it's an amazing experience that you won't forget.

One of the greatest engineering feats of it's times!
Must visit if you're in town, because apparently you can view it from every nook and corner of the city!
There is also a small lift that takes you from one of the bases to the top, so you can view the whole city from there.
Situated near the river, it's great for kids and adults alike.
Super-friendly staff, affordable tickets.

It was very nice. They had a gift shop, a movie about the history of the arch and the security was tight. What i didnt like was how the entrance was quiet a distance... other than that it was awesome. Can't wait for the museum to open next month (July 3 2018)

Such an iconic monument. In the visitors center beneath the arch is a theater that shows a movie about the construction of the arch which I found very fascinating.
The ride to the top takes four minutes in an egg shaped pod with 5 people in it. The pod rotates 155 degrees as it travels to the top over 600 feet in the air.
You may spend as much time at the top as you like looking out the small windows.
It was a highlight of our visit to St. Louis

There is a place that people can look around and read and get some food or coffee once you get passed security... If you can find the building. There are NO signs that say: Entrance That Way. Or something like that.

They want you to get in line within 5 minutes of your time, so we did. Then they were having delays and we had to wait about 2 hours to get on the ride up. They try to fit too many people on. It takes a lot of waiting to finally get up.

Once you are up, it is a great view. You can see a lot, take pictures, and stay up there as long as you want and then the same thing will bring you back down. Great view, but really long wait.

I have always wanted to visit here. So glad I finally made it there. Beautiful views from the top. Ride up and down not scary at all but definitely NOT for the claustrophobic. Tight wait for tram and tram fits 4 but seats 5.

Amazing monument that I highly recommend stopping by to see. The ride to the top can be a little claustrophobic but is worth the experience. The Arch is currently under renovation so the exhibits are in the courthouse. There is a video on the history of how the Arch came to be that is very educational.

This was cool to see. There could have been SOME attempt at customer service from any of the employees but the design of the museum and the historical value was done very nicely. My advice, go around 5pm on a business day to avoid the crowds
If you are squeemish about small spaces or hights this isn't the stop for you. The ride up is in a tiny ball with 4 other people for about 4 minutes. But if you have your fears the view is incredible!

The arch has improved immensely since I was a child. I personally loved the walk through history section where you get to see the history of St. Louis and Missouri as a whole. It can get boring for children under 15, though. Just accept that kids under 10 will run wild while you try to speed read through the numerous plaques and pages.

I loved visiting here and riding to the top of the arch which I did not know you could do. I also really enjoyed the movie presentation of the making of the arch. Great footage and history lesson. You will not enjoy the ride up if you are claustrophobic. Beautiful view from the top of the arch.

I went to St. Louis over the summer and just had to stop at the arch this time, as my itinerary was too full to make it last time I was here. Visiting the Arch was an unforgettable and amazing experience! The ride to the top was a little cramped, but well worth it! The museum at the base of the arch was both engaging and educational, and it helped me to fully appreciate this marvel of engineering!

Please do not spend your hard earned money on this. Although you will feel like you did it your family will remember much less. Spend the money on a real experience. The enhancement to the elevators were much improved.

It is cool but honestly going up in the arch isn't worth it unless it is a very empty or not busy day. It can get crowded quick at the top of the arch. I do suggest the mini movie you can watch. You have to get a ticket for it.

This was our 1st visit to tour the New Museum and Tran ride to the top of the Arch. I was so impressed by the whole experience. The parking fee was $7. And admission was $12 per adult and $8 for children under 16. The views were awesome. I recommend going now thru the week days while not crowded.

Great place to hangout, learn, and have a family time! From the Museum, ride to the top, view of the city and all! I was fortunate to ride to the top during 4th of July air show and it was a wonderful moment. You have to visit here if you're in St. Louis!

Awesome experience and great view of the city. We were able to take the tram up before our scheduled time. The movie was interesting but you can likely find the same info online. If you have a disabled guest in your party there are a few flights of stairs that are unavoidable and the floor is curved in the viewing area. If they are able to make a short climb up some stairs make sure to ask for tram car 1 as this will take some but not all of the stairs away.

It is really amazing, it is really tall. I went to the top with my family. Before going to the top there is a little museum but still really interesting. After that you make a line and a person will guide you and explain some things about the Gateway and as a group you do a fun and entertaining quiz to learn about it. Then in group of five you enter a really small capsule that is part of a kind of train that will take you to the top. Up there you can see all St. Louis and there is a great view. I really recomend it.
