So much fun I went 25 years ago, but there was no museum or store it was fun then. It's so much better today nice staff.

The museum and the lift till the top both were nice. Suggested to reach before sunset.
Amazing!! We took a 4 day road trip to St Louis and really enjoyed our time at the Arch. Beautifully kept park grounds and a very nice welcome center/museum. Seeing the arch in person is very awe inspiring. Only down side was that due to covid the trams to the top were not operating.
I have been there in 2013 and again in 2019. There's been a major renovation. A little museum seems interesting, alongside with coffee shop and some fast food. Word of advice: get tickets online and skip the ticket office hustle. The experience is really worth the money, especially if you have kids.
Almost died here while riding a scooter. Would definitely go back.
The renovations to the place are beautiful and the addition of the West entrance was nice too although how to get in the museum was a bit confusing. The museum isn't for little kids without a lot of patience and for a family of 4 we didn't want to pay the $58 to go to the top or wait 3 hours until the next available trip if one of the littles didn't enjoy the ride or the view. Definitely recommend buying tickets for the tram up online ahead of time. I miss the giant stuffed bear and buffalo along with the big fountain at the bottom!
The updates and changes they made are fantastic. The museum is very hands on and interactive.
There are signs all over telling you the time and how long until boarding times for tram to the top. This allows you to comfortably walk through without constantly looking at watch.
The tram ride is 4 minutes to top and only 3 minutes coming back down.
This was pretty cool. I never realized how big the arch is. Great views from inside the top too! It's definitely something you should check out if you're in the area.
One of the Must have attractions @ Citycenter. You can spend time also in free museum before climbing to Arch.
It is what it is. It s expensive and crowded, but you should experience it. Once you take the claustrophobic lifts to the top they will let you stay there for as long as you want. My advice is to take headphones up there, play some happy music, and camp out a spot on the river side. Preferably not on a weekend.
Such a magnificent designed structure! Just don't look down when you get to the top if you are scared of heights!!
One of the highlights of our trip with the family through St. Louis. The elevator system for reaching the top was quite exciting and not for anybody with claustrophobia. The view from the top of the arch was great. We were there in the late evening, so the best views were of Busch stadium which was lit up and the Old Court House. The fountain across the river was also fun to watch, but the wind carried away most of the water.
Beautiful park to visit! You can buy your tickets online which I suggest if you have limited time in the area. I went on a Sun afternoon in Oct and security took 5 min, then you can access the impressive museum, gift shop, and cafe for free. Skip the boat tour.
The museum has amazing displays, artifacts and videos taking you through the Louisiana Purchase, the Lewis and Clark expedition, the growth of St. Louis and finally some background about the Arch itself. Allow 1-2 hours.
The 30 min video goes in depth about the engineering feat the Arch is, showing real video footage from construction in the 1960's. I highly suggest watching the video before going up the tram so you'll appreciate it more.
The 4 minute tram ride was interesting because the glass doors of your car let you see behind the scenes into the Arcs construction. Once at the top, you'll have a few small windows to look down over the city and river but there is no need to spend more than a few minutes up there before heading back down. The line to go up seemed to vary. We had Sun 2:10pm tickets and it took 45 min to get on the tram, by 4:30pm it looked like there was barely a line but that could have been due to the rainy weather.
The arch pic is all over the Internet but sometimes I feel the museum is not that known. It s just beautiful.
Went with a group of 40-46 other people from Fort Worth, TX. The atmosphere was great. I ordered the Ox tails, green beans, cornbread, and yams. The yams and cornbread were great. The Ox tails were too small and the gravy on them wasn't thick or flavorful enough. The green beans were a little over cooked. Then I asked for a peach cobbler to go and received half peach, and half pear cobbler. Because of our itinerary, I only got to taste it a day later. It was good but I prefer peaches over pears. However, I was glad to be in this famous restaurant and experience it for myself. Just wish Ms. Robbie had been there.
This was my second time to the Arch. It was even better than the first time 20 years ago. I absolutely had a wonderful time.
Have to go up at least once!! It is tight but well worth going up!!
This was a once in a lifetime experience. I don't know that I will ever get back to the mid West. I'm super claustrophobic but I felt safe and didn't freak out in the little elevator thing that takes you to the top. Once you get up there the views are amazing. I highly recommend this, it's like nothing I have ever seen before.
We were passing through St. Louis and took a break in our road trip to stop here! It's about 14$ a person to ride to the top in a little capsule that seats five (it's pretty small, definitely not great for those with claustrophobia.) But you see the inside of the arch on the way up and at the top there is a viewing deck with windows, the view is amazing! You can look straight down and see both legs of the arch. We didn't stay long because the hubby isn't a fan of heights haha. The museum is very extensive and of course there is pricey food and a gift shop, but we enjoyed it a lot. Didn't do the riverboat tour or movie but we definitely got plenty out of it!
Great place to take visiting family and friends. My parents had so much fun going up in the Arch and visiting the museum below the arch. They did such a good job remodeling it. Super fun... Except for the parking..
Incredible monument. I have visited twice, once as a ~12yo and again with my kids later in life. We did this trip as a short stop in the middle of a longer trip instead of making a whole day of it. We purchased our tickets online due to concerns over being sold out. On a weekday I'm not sure if that was an issue but we didn't have to wait in the ticket office line. One downside is I dont have a little ticket stub to put in a momento box. We got the movie + team ride to the top. One has to pick time slots when buying online. There aren't many guidelines on timing but we scheduled the movie first which was done in 30 minutes. This worked great with the tram ride as it's a longer and variable amount of time depending on how much time you spend at the top and the line to go back down. Amazing views from the top. The parking isn't well defined here, we parked in a riverfront structure which was expensive $7 but close by. If you have any interest in building, engineering or construction I'd recommend the movie. Shot on film in the 60s it's really well done and looks more modern than you'd expect and goes into many of the details of the structure and the inventive build process.
Always a great attraction. Easy access to bassing travelers the lawn was clean and the museum was a fun. Make it a destination for best results but also can be a quick stop. I loved it.
I love how they have greened up the area and installed all the parks and trails. I went in the early spring and the air was fragrant from all the blooming tulip trees and viburnums everywhere. I stayed in a hotel across the street from the hotel with my dog. Between the hotel being dog friendly and all the green open space, this ended up being a really nice little trip for my boyfriend, Italian mastiff, and me. Disappointed that the museum is closed until July 2018, but I look forward to coming back again.
I didn't even know you can go inside the arch!! Everything was super easy and interesting. The staff aren't exactly enthusiastic about showing you to the next part of the tour but everything is pretty self explanatory. It can get a little crowded up top in the close space. Someone kept passing gas so I had to get outta there but other than that it was a pretty cool little experience. Glad I went!
It was pretty neat to see this up close. Parking in the area is about $10. I didn t go inside but it was still worth the trip while in town.
You have got to go to the top! Awesome view amazing experience.
Great attraction. It's been on my bucket list to come here for a while. I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed the video they put on in the theater. It may not be for everybody tho. There was plenty of information given by the staff on the way to the tram, and at the top of the arch. Glad I checked this off of my bucket list.
No trip to St Louis is complete without the arch. It's mind-blowingly enormous from far away and up close. There is a surrounding park with plenty of space to sit and get a good view, and maybe even people watch. The national park indoor exhibits have been recently renovated. For a fee, you can take a trip to the top of the arch, providing views for miles. Totally worth it.
It was nice visit just really hot and humid there today 7/ 18 / 20
The facility is good, and it's what you'd expect. Also, someone gave our friend the veteran's discount even though he'd just gotten off of active duty.
So, would I go more than once on my own? No (so no fifth star), but if you haven't gone, it's worth the trip. Also, take the time to check out the museum. It was surprisingly cool.
Cool landmark to see. You can go up in it but I didn't. I think it said $14 per adult.
This.was my first time in the arch and it was an amazing experience.
Very cool place. If your claustrophobic or afraid of heights don't go to the top lol
Great place to take the family. Really love the updated museum under the Arch. All of the staff seemed to be happy and helpful.
Ah, the St. Louis arch! The monument to westward expansion, as well as being the largest man made monument! The grounds have been recently redone and the new visitors center is currently under construction but the arch is still visitable! Parking was made easy by the parking lot underneath the Hyatt which only cost about 3 dollars for a 40 minute visit. If you've never been to the arch I highly recommend taking the tram up to the top to get a great view of the city skyline.
Definitely worth seeing and exploring. Going up into arch worth the effort. Reservations needed sell out fast. I loved the movie how it was built it helps appreciate what a challenge it was to built.
First time for my kids to see it up close and personal it was fantastic!!!
Very unique. I was expecting long lines but nope. Only $12 to go to the top. Views were amazing. Well worth the effort.
The arch looked lovely from a distance. I was unable to get to the tram or close to the arch as there was no handicapped parking. We were told that when the National Park Service re structured the parking 3 years ago they decided to leave out handicapped parking and instead institute handicapped drop off points. I was very disappointed
Very cool. The museum is very interesting as well. The rangers are very helpful with any questions you may have.
Much more than just the arch. Great museum and tour inside. Nice and clean and a nice gift shop. Very inexpensive. If you're here, don't skip it. You'll regret it.
A very beautiful place and amazing view from top of the arch. The tram ride to the top of the arch was good. Took a picture of downtown from top of the arch, it was beautiful
Amazing place to visit. Had a little confussion as to where the entrance is. Roads there are under construction and not clearly marked. The statehouse was a good stop.
I thought that this was just incredible. The sight when you got to the top of the highest point in the arch just will take your breath away. And it is not just the view when you get to the top of the arch, no. It is also just the stunning view of the arch itself. You can see it from miles away and it just has this something that makes you just want to stare at it for hours. It is truly beautiful and I hope you can go and ride to the top.
Beautiful visit. I really enjoyed the new visitor museum and interactive experience.
It's the Gateway Arch, what else needs to be said. Been touring this since I was a kid. The gateway to the west. A must stop if it is in your view. Mesmerizing, to see up close, and a cool part of our great country's history.
Amazing place it beautiful and the view is incredible. the only thing is the capsule is a little claustrophobic. but its incredible.
Fun experience, very organized and very interesting. We dug the free museum especially. For to take lots of great pictures too!
The Gateway Arch is home to Saint Louis, MO and is 600 ft tall and wide. The Gateway Arch is a very good place to visit if never visit before. Be aware that it does cost to take a trip in the arch itself.
The arch is very awesome and is taller than the empire state bldg. I remember when the arch had two entrances one on each leg. The museum was in the middle. I loved the museum about the gateway to thee west. There was also q movie about the building of the arch which was amazing. Just knowing that they built both legs at the same time. The best part which was also amazing was fitting the last piece. I mean the men who designed, built the arch were some very intelligent and carefull working men. But they finally got it built. You can also see the train tracks that were used to bring all the pieces in on the trains. The arch is a dream that came true for all of st Louis. Then the arch went through a renovation. The parking lot was removed but you have great parking on the landing. The landing has been there for a long time and has awesome food. The parking lot was replaced with a area for children to play as well as a field for concerts and festivals. There is a bridge that you can walk up and see the old train tracks as well as the Mississippi river. There is also two paths leading to the arch. The steps are still there as well as the two old entrances which was nice so that you can see the original design
The new entrance is to the west of the other two entrances. The entrance is beautiful and can be seen by from the old court house. I love the new design and you will to.. welcome to the arch home to st louis and gateway to the west. The arch is easy to get to and have a great time. There is also hotels close by. There are several attractions close to the arch like the old court house,
It was a great experience to get to the top of the arch. The information provided while you wait in different stages to get to the actual tram is repetitive so by the third time, not very exciting... We had the last tour of the day - on the good side there were very few people there, security check was less than 2 minutes and all exhibits we're easily accessible. On the down side, there was little time to see the museum and gift shop. I would recommend to do the latest tour for a smaller crowd but do the museum first if you are interested.
Simply amazing !! You must ride the tram to the top !!
Amazing, I take my morning walks there. I enjoy reaching the Mississippi river cools me down then head back home. Beautiful scene
The Arch is simply amazing and the museum underground is super nice and it's free (the park and the museum)
Liked it. You don't know how tall it is until you get to see it from below.
Great to see but access to the system that gives rides up the arch was closed for covid-19
The arch was beautiful. We had a nice time exploring the free museum under the arch.
A wonderful place to visit for a few hours or a day trip with time to hang out with family and friends at the park. Wonderful history exhibit on the Western expansion, and beautiful facilities, especially after the renovation. The trip up, even on a cloudy day, still provides a great view of the Mississippi River activity and downtown St. Louis.
So beautiful I finally got my picture taking under here.
Great stop and an amazing United States Monument. If your staying in the city itself or simply passing through I would recommend taking the time to see this one of a kind attraction. It doesn't require much time either so you don't have to chose going to see the Gateway Arch over something else you'd also enjoy doing. My husband and I were on an east to west coast road trip and easily added this stop to our route.
Was super cool. Everyone was polite, & very well educated. The gateway arch movie was 30min & interesting. The museum was pretty cool too. A heads up that the elevator up to the top is VERY tiny and cramped. It was kind of like a Bathysphere. Met some interesting people outside as well.
This was a great experience. The ride up wasn't bad and to just get all the history on how it was built was great I was visiting from Ann Arbor
Excellent place to visit, the feel is completely different than my last visit 8 years back. It has changed to an awesome experience in now.
Reasonably priced. Wonderful view of both Illinois and Missouri. Great priced food with great variety. The gift shop is large with collectors coins and a penny press machine. They do not have souvenir shot glass. Decent walk from the $7 paid parking that is credit/debit card only. Best enjoyed during warmer weather but gorgeous with snow conditions.
Good place for one time visit. Park is kind of small but the Arch structure looks straight out of a Scifi movie
Beautiful experience!! Tons of information, and a cool view of the city.
So much fun, took great photos and went to the top. Great times
A wonderful experience! I remember I was driving towards there and when I got the first glance of the arch, I was still very far from it and it looked huge!!! My heart started beating faster and it was just amazing when I got there, took the tour, visited the museum; it s one of the most memorable and beautiful places I ve seen. The view of the river from the top is just breathtaking!!
It was nice to see the Gateway Arch to the west. It is in a great location.
First time there since moving here in 2015. Awe inspiring and beautiful museum.
Beautiful park, incredible architecture, and a great museum- had a great time here!
How long does it take too go on a four minute elevator ride? You guessed it, about two hours. I often wonder if things would run another and more efficient if people were left to service themselves. It works for getting on and off a subway. Why can't it work here?
Very cool especially for people visiting but living here it's a one or two time stop
Had a blast in St. Louis. Easy 4 hr trip to a monument. Glad I've been and will go back.
It was a special experience. 4 mins going up in a little cabin that looks like a washing machine with 5 persons in it. The view at the top is very nice. Not for claustrophobic people though.
first time I went it was under construction, so I was elated to take in the fire more pics to post!!! Bills lemonade I'd awesome!! $5.00
Amazing tour, the arch was awesome and inspiring. Looking out across miles, even hundreds of miles and seeing the rain in the distance, the light sway of the building at the top. The experience brings a sense of peace and wonder while asking yourself the true meaning of our existence on earth.
10/10
They did a really nice job updating museum. Lot of history to see. Give yourself plenty of time. Doesn't cost anything just to walk in and see the museum.
I always enjoy learning about the history of our country. I've been here 6 times and I seen to learn something new and amazed at the architecture.
We took our family to the Gateway Arch for the first time since the renovations to the grounds and Visitors' Center were completed. We ordered online, and the ticket pickup at Will Call was smooth and quick. The exhibits that we walked through on the way to the trams were great. The wait for the tram took about 20 minutes past the time we had reserved for, but otherwise, was smooth.
Loved the tour and trip to the top! Well organized, friendly giodes!
Clean and a nice place to stop and take photos! We didnt do any activities because we were on a time limit. Overall, worth the stop even if you only have a few minutes!
huge museum, nice exhibition, no cost to visit museum. $13 for tram to the top of the arch. small cafe is also good for a rest.
