The Bier Markt King West Reviews

I love the markt burger, I always get it with am egg. There's one waiter there who I really enjoy getting (typically works the night shift). Always a good sport.

Visited Toronto and went to the Bier Markt for the first time. Their beer selection is amazing. The service and atmosphere were top notch as well. I would definitely return when I go back to Toronto.

I went here for a work holiday party on a Friday night. I ordered their fish and chips. The food and service were great, but the music was so loud that I had to scream at the person sitting next to me.

Food was decent with beer selection to match. Good portions were huge.

Had the market burger which was just ok. It kind of fell apart at the end and wasn't anything too special. Just a plain burger. Service was friendly and helpful. But the live music left much to be desired. Come for the beer and stay for the people. The live music needs a little work.

Sat beside the huge screen and ordered Fat Fried Duck Wings, with a good helping of the Boneshaker IPA. Made for a good night!

Absolutely horrible service, we came in and we're greeted with a warm welcome as soon we were seated no waiters came to help or serve so we ended up leaving.

Awesome beer selection with lots of TVs for sports watching. Good music from a luxe band on Saturday night.

Great place to destress and hang out with your coworkers. The live bands were always excellent and the dance music was always good!

Menu has average and the service was below that, however the beer options are endless! Beer good - everything else average.

After the renovations, they have created an amazing restaurant and bar area. Enjoyed my Pork Schnitzel along with a Goose Island flight.

Good selection but the local Canadian breweries are much more fun. Average staff. Good selection of beers.

Great selection of beers, one of the few places to get Trappist ales on tap in Toronto. On weekends they sometimes have live music / dancing which can get loud and obnoxious.

They don't do pitchers. Top notch wings, mediocre service

Based on my personal experiences dining here, it is my opinion that this establishment is not LGBT friendly. If you still wish to visit this establishment, I would recommend being very specific about the quality of service provided by the wait and kitchen staff. Demand a table that is not located in a dark corner or is very clean if you sit outside. If your order is messed up demand that it be fixed immediately. If it isn't insist on seeing the manager. For myself l'll choose instead to visit one of Toronto's thousands of other LGBT friendly establishments.

Great place for a meet up with friends. The beer selection is just crazy. The poutine and pretzel with melted cheese are out of this world.

The ultimate place to grab a beer. Sports, drinks, music, and dancing. Can't go wrong with coming here for any occasion. And the food is great! Definitely would come again really soon! Also everything is fairly priced

I'll give two stars for the good beer selection. But the platter we got was awful and service very slow.

Service was terrible. Food arrived after 1 1/2 hour and not tasting good. Another ordeal to get to pay for my beverages.

Waitress was amazing, hair found in salad. Beer is great though.

Super slow service. Food was awful. The fondue isn't fondue anymore. It's more of a nasty cheese gravy that's been watered down to save money. Save your own money and go to a real bar.

Pretty good beer selection. Food is average. I would recommend other places along The Esplanade before going here. If you just want a beer and to watch the game, this place is perfect, loads of TVs

Nothing special. Not really a place you go by choice by with a group of people who drink beers, they will find something here I'm sure.

Tasty portobello burger but the meal size was a bit disappointing. Not a lot of options for vegeterians.

Amazing food choices and endless choices for beer. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They won't fake it either, if they don't know about a drink they will find someone else to answer. Plus fancy friggen bathroom. Would definitely visit again.

I love this place. Great beer selection and the food isn't too bad. Kronenbourg White on tap is a gem, and they also occasionally have Rouge. I have tried all the sandwiches are good, with the chicken being particularly generously portioned. The patio is also nice and you don't feel rushed by the staff.

They have a selection of beer. Food is bland and overpriced. The bar area is little dark, could use more lighting. It can get loud as it gets more busy.

Awesome atmosphere. Great food and service. Highly recommended for Friday night out.

Terrible; I left details of my visits on the Goose Island page. Not coming back even if I m paid to do so... if I were the manager, I would have been very embarrassed.

Really great food and a massive selection of beers. However as a none beer drinker I was pretty disappointed at how little selection there was of non beer related beverages.

The food was quite good, really enjoyed the duck wings!

Called at 10:21 asked if the kitchen would still be open if we got there in the next 10 minutes. Were told that the kitchen would be open for at least 40 minutes. Got there at 10:28, were told that the kitchen was closed. Were treated rudely at the door.

Great beer selection. Unfortunately, my go to beer, Steigl, was not pouring well tonight. I can understand and forgive that. What I cannot forgive is the off-duty staff choosing to leave their work shoes on the bar stool seat and then on the booth seat.

This is one of my favorite restaurants their schnitzels absolutely amazing they have fantastic oysters and the rest of the menu is just amazing as well unfortunately this is the closest location for me there used to be one near Sherway I don't know why it closed down but please open more of these locations up this place is awesome

Great beer selection, but I was really annoyed when the server tipped himself. I asked to square off with the sever and the bill was $7.50 for one pint. i gave him a $20 bill and he gave me $12 in change back. I would have tipped him a dollar but because he short-changed me I figured 50 cents was his tip. It was pretty busy in there tonight but he could have at least explained being short 50 cents.

This place used to be something really special. Friday nights the dance floor was packed with amazing people singing along to fun bands. After the reno this place is empty - the soul is gone - the stage has effing doors on it. Well done, Cara Foods, you killed a gem.

Fun place to go for night out, especially with a group. But reserve ahead. Different bands play on stage on Friday, Saturdays

Expensive. Was refused seating unless we told them what we were ordering beforehand to ensure we spent a sufficient amount of money to justify giving us a table.

Went here for the fist time after watching it be constructed for the last 6 months. LOVED IT! Drinks were great, food was on point. SERVERS were amazing. Thank you to Winnie and Chido for a great night out with friends. Couldn't have asked for more.

Waiting 20 mins at the bar to get a drink when it wasn't even busy = no tip

This is a good tribute to beer and chill in Toronto. Decent drinking options, great flavor, friendly staff. Perfect to grab beers with friends for a great afternoon in the hot Toronto summertime. You might not be there for long periods of time but it's gonna be good time.

Attempted to get a drink here before concert with my husband. Service was very poor. There was no one at the front desk and when someone did arrive they started to serve us but rudely dismissed us mid conversation to serve three other people who had just walked in. We were told to wait until they were seated. Were then rudely informed that there were no seats and we would be placed on a waiting list. Needless to say we were offended by the treatment and opted to check out the bar next door.

Always a good time! The renovated section with the micro brewery elements are interesting.

Place has a great patio and the ambience is ok, service is horrible , it took us long time to get serviced and whwn we finally ordered our drinks and some of our food we never received cutlery nor sode plates, when i akswd twice!!!i was told that "i will be right back" so we had our drinks and we asked for our bill since we couldnt eat what we allready ordered. Bill came relatively quickly(no surprise there) and we still tipped our original server the 15 % gratuity and just left without anyone apologizing for not at least eating what we ordered and paid for.
I will not be returning there again.

Good food lots of beers! But the short blonde waitress with the tattoo on her arm is slow and doesn't like tips cause it was easy a 30 min before she came and talked to us and after that another 30 she sucks

Seats were very uncomfortable and the table was wobbly. When we asked if we could switch tables our waitress told us she can t. After she took our order, someone else brought our food and she didn t check on us until we were well finished our meals, although she was checking on other tables quite frequently. Food was great though.

Went there last Saturday for dinner and drinks... I used to come here lots 15 years ago and decided to try it again. What a mistake that was. This place used to serve amazing mussels, but not anymore... The pot had a ton of unopened ones and the rest were way overcooked. We ordered for three of us and they gave us one small piece of bread... When we asked for more, they brought out another small piece, after a little wait... Which brings me to the final straw... Be ready to wait. It wasn't crowded at all, but we had to wait to be greeted and seated, wait for our waitress, wait for drinks, etc. We were so fed up that we just left the crappy food and left.

So many beers, so little time. The selection here is nigh-unparalleled. Because of its location, this place fills up during peak hours, but it's worth the crowds to get a sip of that hard-to-find beer you're craving.
