Amazing place for beer! Their selection of draft beers is one of the best in the city.
Lately though, it's becoming more of a night-club on weekend nights, so if you're coming to enjoy great beer in a quiet setting, come early on weekdays.

Was a nice place several years ago but unfortunately not anymore. I was a loyal customer for about 4 years and probably won't come to Bier Markt again.
Last Saturday night at some point my beer was taken from me and I was asked to live the premises buy some guy (later security said that his name is Danielle) saying that he's a manager and that from his point of view I had enough. One of the things is that he didn't even bother to introduce himself and tried to grab my hands a couple of times. The whole situation was confusing not only for me and my friends but also for the security guys since they could see that I'm not drunk, not causing any trouble thus they didn't see any grounds for this decision. While discussing this situation, another manager came over and said that right or wrong the decision was made and I can come another time but will have to leave the bar this night.
I don't know what provoked that kind of behavior on your manager's side, maybe I didn't let some of his friends go first at the bar or it was something else but this kind of attitude definitely doesn't improve Bier Markt's reputation.

This place is rad. We went after an event with a group, had to wait a while for service after we got to our table but it was busy so not too bad. Huge selection ! Accommodating & friendly. They even have one of those fountains with the cherub peeing into the pool

Nice atmosphere, good service. My Bailey's Coffee was the best I've had and my husband really enjoyed his Crown and ginger. Didn't have food, just stopped in for a drink. Would definitely go back.

Overpriced beer and mediocre food. Would rather go to the Beer Store or LCBO and buy international beer and have it on my patio. If they were able to include different types of international food to go along with their beer, it would really set them apart.

The hostess was prompt and friendly. Food was pretty good and my cocktail was delicious. It's downhill from there though. Our server/bartender was terrible and ruined the experience. The restaurant was almost empty but we waited forever between placing our order and getting our drinks and one was missing. One person ordered a ceasar and the garnish was served after the drink arrived in a kitchen prep bowl. When I asked for the cabbage on my poutine the server made a rude comment about the choice. When our food came one person's meal was missing and another was served food with an ingredient he expressly requested be omitted. When this was raised our server made it seem like an inconvenience to have the food remade although it was his mistake. He also appeared hungover and kept making comments about it being Sunday morning to justify his crappy service. Overall this person came off quite douchey and gave a negative impression of Bier Markt and we may not return.

Excellent experience. Food was very good, staff is extremely friendly. They have a huge variety of different beers.

It has some really good flavors for Beer!! Enjoyed trying different varieties. The food is good too. One of the best sweet potato fries we had as yet. The service was quick , positive with some great suggestions for beer. Unfortunately ae had to cut our stay short due to the blaring fire alarm sound. Will surely go back again!!

Great beir selection large space good for large groups and viewing sports with friends. Food is ok not terrific and not overly cheap. Great patio space in good weather in a cool part of city.

Very average. Steak was well done (had asked for medium) and it s the strangest cut of sirloin I ve ever seen. I wanted mash as a side but the server let me know they don t serve mash. I was here several months ago and they used to, not sure why you d take mash off the menu when serving steak but ok. Veg tasted weird, whatever they cook it in was too sweet. The server and all other staff we encountered were lovely though.

Amazing spot for great food, cocktails and tons of different beers. Great music, live band, beautiful decor and the best atmosphere....worth every penny.

I had my company's corporate holiday party at the Esplanade BierMarkt. At first it was a challenge as they underwent staff changes but when I finally sat down and emailed the new staff, they were tremendously helpful and professional and I could not have been happier with the service and the venue. Carmen (the GM) runs a very great team and supplied our event with sufficient staff to cater our needs, Matea (offsite Event Coordinator) was just brilliant and very accommodating. I am very happy to have worked with them both for my event. When I attended on the day of the event, I met with Brandon (manager & facilitator) who was very helpful and friendly during the entire event. The waitresses were amazing! And finally a shout out to the head bartender (Santiago) who was great overall and well experienced! He is excellent. I commend all the hard work to the staff at the BierMarkt who made the event a huge success and is still a buzz around the office. Keep up with great work, you all make a wonderful team!

Great big screens with a large seating area. Haven't had to wait more then a few minutes to get in. Food is ok... But great selection of everything else.

Beer is over priced and the food is nothing interesting. I would not go there again. For reference, a bottle of rogue dead guy ale is 17 or 18 dollars plus tax.

Great spot for a pint as you can imagine based on the name.

If you are looking for a variety of beer and good menu to boot this is a place to pass by. With its proximity to ACC makes for a great post game spot as well

Management is overly serious and rude to employees. Eating lunch there during the week we witnessed the manager (guessing) talk with a very condescending tone towards what looked to be a bus boy. We felt very awkward being around this when it happened and afterwards felt a lot of sympathy towards the bus boy

Great beer selection, patio and massive connect four game!

Had the chicken Schnitzl. Was delicious. Really nice inside since they finished renovations.

The Bier Market is one of a kind.. surely there are others. The ambience cool dim lighting is so relaxing. 150 beers to choose from. I had the Thai Singha lager cool and refreshing you can feel it reach the inner recesses of your throat. The food is excellent.. I enjoyed the fish and chips. The oysters were to die for.

Not bad but nothing special. I ordered a burger with fries and, comparing it to my friends fries, it looked like they just have me the bottom fry crumbs to complete the order. Drinks were pretty good. For the price, I would expect more from the food though

Good vibe, service and beer selection. Live band wasn't great but that could just be me since I never have a good time when there is a live band. The DJ was good, though.

We went there around 7pm on a Friday night. The place was packed but we didn't have to wait, got a table right away. The service was fast and beers were good! We just felt that our server was handling so many tables that it looked like she was always running everywhere, but she handled it very well (from our perspective) and we were happy with the overall experience.

The suggested pairings on the menu are a nice detail. The menu is big, which is a little confusing, but the schnitzel is a good bet.

I liked bier Markt up to tonight, been to different locations and It was such an inconvenience for us to get insulted by a customer, who apparently works there apparently, but was off the clock at that moment. We got the wrong order twice, we didn t get the water to start with, no cutlery!
Still okay so far, but just for the server was too busy chatting with same coworkers-customer ... and he threw the receipt on table when he saw there were no tips. If I am not happy with the service, there is no tip!
Why is it so unbelievable?!
The manager was friendly and understanding, he apologized.

Bringeth thy hype and such place is sure to fall. I was entirely let down by the Bier. For two weeks, people ranted and raved about it when I mentioned I made reservations for brunch, and overall, it just didn't fit the bill...

Slow service but incredible food and beer. An overall amazing experience

Good selection of craft beers but very pricey and mostly focused on European (Belgian/English/German) pseudo-crafty beers. Food is on the upper end as well and the place is usually packed with the Bay St and waterfront condos crowd.

Food was good, but service was slow. Very personable waiter, just slow in taking orders, and bringing bills.

Place is good for a drink or two. Samples help you decide what you may like. There are so many choices but not all are available, at least the ones we were willing to try.

Bad food, overpriced drinks and the management/owners are sexist pigs who structure their hiring so they can illegally profile potential hires for their appearance. Do not give them your money.

Good solid bar, great for large groups and good music down the back if you choose to dance alternatively stay up the front where it is quieter to chat.

Lots of beer selection. Gets busy fast on weekends

We wanted to have a drink and eat there... but after sitting 20 minutes on the terrace (at a table designated by the host), nobody went to see us (all waiters were taking care of other tables - so we decided to leave). Was looking like an interesting place, but very disappointed.

My friends and I recently visited Toronto from the states and Biermarkt was one of the places we looked forward to hitting most. Our waiter, Jackson, was super friendly and recommended great cocktails, making our experience that much better. We all can t wait to go again :)

No debit working, busy noisy, had to wait for seats, 30 minutes to get served, then got wrong drink. O verworked waitress did her best and I did get a free beer. Ownership needs to hire more staff. The place has at least 300 person capacity, must make 100,000 on a busy night, no excuse to not have enough minimum wage servers.

The food was okay here, we got Fish and Chips, which were quite oily, more so than normal. There was a lot of better.

The Salad was good and apparently the beers we're amazing. Great place for drinks, okay for food.

Food is good and atmosphere is relaxed at this place. It's nice for a weekday evening - not too loud and service is pretty decent.

We arrived with a group of 8 and were seated quickly, however things went downhill from there. Our drink order wasn t taken for 30 minutes and then the drinks were very slow to arrive. Once they arrived and our order was taken it was an hour and a half before our food arrived.

I have been coming here for years. They have a wide selection of beers and great live music with a sizeable dance area. A great place to have fun with friends.

Really great tasting beers and service. Insane catalogue of beers all sorted by type. Prices for the food are high, though.

Very nice place, good atmosphere and very nice staff. Had a great Markt Burger with Sweet Potatoe Fries, just loved it!

Lighting is super odd here. The Goose Island part is great though. It's a huge place. The food seems to be great so far.

I've only been here once, but I think they have live music on Saturdays which is nice. Drinks are affordable and the place overall good.

Not really my kind of atmosphere as it seems to be packed on Friday and Saturday nights with the kind of young business scene. I won't even attempt to go if I don't get there before 10 as the line gets crazy and you end up waiting outside forever. The selection of beers is really second to none. Was the first place in town I found delirium tremens (now widely available). The great selection of beers comes with a high associated cost and so expect to be spending $9/pint.

Good place to grab a drink or meal with friends. Good menu selection, the Schnitzel is a must try.

No soap on both wash rooms , empty open bottles everywhere ...what manager is doing as he did not put in place procedure to check wash rooms? Tim hortons have it, we got appetizers nothing special ..main entry was good.Service was nice ...waitress could recognize our mood and was acting according to that ...

Great beer selection. Nice spot to hang out if you can get a spot. Otherwise stand at the bar for a bit til the live music gets started.
