Ridiculous good beer selection. Beer lovers must go!

Great beer selections, good patio and quality food.

Love this place! Every time we go here it's amazing service was friendly, food was great, and the beer selection (or should I say bier?) was amazing. They are rarely if ever out of any beers. Would heartily recommend

Really good place to get drinks after work and even outside of work outs. Good crowd, fun, and sometimes has a live band.

Unfortunately I could not rate this establishment any higher as it has been closed permanently. Other reviews were nothing but glowing but again not having been a patron I can t add or detract from those statements. I believe other locations in the Toronto area are still open.

The beer was great but it's a shame some random waitress snatched my glass off my table before I finished it. I complained to my server since she saw the shocked look on my face as I watched my beer disappear. The food was awful, schnitzel under a mountain of canned gravy. Looked like something you'd feed the dog only it didn't taste as good. Sent it back. if you go, go for the beer but hold tight to your glass so you can enjoy it all.

Under construction until spring 2017. Worth checking out when it's complete.

Waited very long for service. Entire resto seemed understaffed on a Friday night. Beer and food (eventually) were fine. The service sucked. (I'd like to add, that after posting this, management was in touch and rectified the situation. I'd give 5 stars for their prompt response)

Good place to bring some friends and dance. Don't expect crowded clubbing but nice room and decent music

First place I've found a good beer selection in Toronto! Pretty good food, too.

Visited Bier Markt last Saturday with my friends to listen to live music and have some good time. Unfortunately a friend of mine was asked to leave the bar by some new manager (Danielle) without any good reason for it. When we asked why our friend was asked to leave, another manager came over (the previous one didn't even show up) and told us that the decision was made whether it's right or not. We just wen't to another place right next to Bier Markt where no one saw any problems with our friend and Bier Markt lost 9 customers that night.
Bier Markt used to be a nice place even not long ago, but with that kind of attitude it's definitely heading in a wrong direction.

First time here and the staff was amazing with recommending different beers and food. The food was ok nothing really stood out to be a must have. But the beer flights was a good way for us to try out new beers we never would have tried before.

All in all a great place to have a couple of drinks with amazing service. Just don't expect too much from the food menu.

I made a reservation on Open Table to celebrate my birthday. Reservation was for 8 people initially. My party size grew to 15 and I wasn't able to increase the reservation to that size off Open Table so I called the restaurant directly. This was all a week before the actual reservation. My request was happily accommodated on the phone when I requested the larger party size.

On the day of my actual reservation, I had a terrible experience. The restaurant got us a table for around 10 people, forcing us all the squish together uncomfortably. This would have been fine of the service was good but unfortunately it was not. Our server seemed overwhelmed and visibly upset from the get go. We were not a rowdy group, everyone was sitting and socializing appropriately. We were kind and understanding to the server knowing it's always tough when you have a large group.

We were there for 2 hours and in that time the restaurant was only able to get us all 2 rounds of drinks. They kept claiming the bar and kitchen were backed up. Only a couple people even wanted food, most were just there for drinks. We all had to nurse our drinks for almost an hour before the server got around to placing additional orders.

Experiences like this matter. I trusted the restaurant to be able to provide a good experience for me as I planned and celebrated my birthday but I got the opposite. We all prematurely closed out our bills and had to find another place to celebrate. In the process we wasted hours.

I will most certainly not be going back to Bier Markt.

My rating is for the beer selection, which they have lots to choose from.

Very nice menu of draft and bottled beer (national/international), nice music, nice beer and hot staff. Possibilitiy to sit inside/outside. Good Octoberfest decoration (seasonal). One thing you need is Bierfilzla! Greetings from the critical Bavarian-Germans.

Good beer selection that is getting better with each year. Staff could use a bit more training but can't fault them too much for that. Food is either pretty good or just below average. I would rate this closer to 3.5/5.

I've walked or driven by this neighbourhood place for years and hesitated to go in because it always looks too busy. I've looked at the menu online and find it appealing.
Finally tonight I drove by and the patio was half empty so decided it was time to give it a try and paid for parking. When I walked into the restaurant it didn't look overly busy inside and asked the frontline individual if it was possible to get a table for 3 on the patio.l was informed the kitchen staff was "behind" and there would be a minimum 40 minute wait and she just walked away.
I am not normally a complainer, so meek me just turned around and left, looking at the half empty patio mystified. Maybe the humid weather tonite was getting to me but I started to fume and decided to just move on to another local patio. No attempt to accomodate in any way...just a lot of bad attitude. Toronto has hundreds of restaurants with great food, service, wonderful staff and great summer patios.Needless to say I won't be going back to this one. No need to give me a complaint reference#. I simply would not return under any circumstances.

Visited this location with friends in August, came for lunch. We sat in the patio. It was nice but very hot and very noisy for a contruction that was going on right by the restaurant. Our waiter was very good and funny. I ordered a pesto pizza... it was ok to fill me up because I was hungry but it wasn't good.

I've been visiting Bier Markt on and off for just over a decade now, starting when I used to attend college downtown, all the way through to now, when it's a heck of a trek from where I currently live (North York)- but I make the voyage a few times a year, you know, for nostalgia. Used to love coming here on weekend nights to catch the live shows, maybe have a little snack (of which they've always had a great many high quality ones to chose from), and of course to get obliterated on a combination of fancy beers and various shots. But what I always liked about this place was that I could then take my mom there for Sunday brunch or a weekday lunch, and have a fabulous meal there, brought to me by the friendly and attentive wait staff. A real Toronto institution located in a great part of town.

Terrible restaurant. The manager is rude and unable to deal with customers. Huge waitlist, dirty tables...
What a waste of time.

Great patio. However it ruined it for us when the menu said the nachos came with salsa, and no salsa was provided. We asked the waiter and he said they dont carry salsa. Weird experience! Attached are photos of the menu vs. What we received.

We didn't appreciate the fact that a reserved area took precedence over anyone else. Hire more bartenders!

Horrible customer service and terrible attitude is all I can say. Don't bother with this location ...

Great caesar, but the 20min wait for a seat took over and hour. We were leaving when we finally got the call for the table, just be honest and would have planned to sit at the bar.

Great place to grab some fancy beer. One of the best around the distillery district of Toronto.
They have around 30 different beers on tap and a decent food selection.
The falafel salad is a must try if you are vegetarian. Sweet potato fries were good too.

They play some awesome music as well

One of the best places in Toronto to hang out and enjoy a meal with friends and family. Highly recommend it for watching big sporting events.

Great space, ambience, service, and obviously beer choices. In the weekend during the night they have a live cover band that plays pretty cool rock classics. Service is super fast and they seem to have merged with the Goose Island brewery next door adding even more space and beer selection. Great place to hang out!

Waitress are nice but they can't handle lot of people

Great service for lunch, the environment for business was nice! I had the Caesar salad for lunch it was not bad there could ve been more Parmesan cheese.

Really friendly and Knowledgeable staff. Probably the best beer selection in the city! Great food and a great place to hang out! Looking forward to my next visit!

Great food, and even better drinks. So many different beers to choose from and a great different cocktail menu. Love the atmosphere and pretty central to downtown.

I was at the bier market on the Saturday night of their relaunch since cara took over. I went to see if all the changes made would improve what I considered a great place to spend time. It didn't. We were seated as soon as we got in and More

The appetizer portions are nearly insulting in their small sizes. Way too expensive for the tiny amounts. Beer selection are great though, prices are a bit steep.

New owners. This place is definitely not what it once was. Took us an hour to get seated. Our food too forever to came out. We had to complain numerous times to get our food. Tables around us were complaining as well . Our appetizers finally came out after we got our mains. How does that work? Horrible experience. I miss the old bier market

Alot of beers on tap, great atmosphere, and food options.

I like the restaurant and environment. However, the quality of the food was not that great to be honest and the server that we had was too uptight and at times just said things that we were not really comfortable with. Last but not least the price was really high for the food regards and we ended up paying so much for the food and the drinks. One thing to mention though is that they have like live music and it was good to enjoy the music while at times join the people on the dance floor.

But the waiter keep dropping glass, plate and knives.... and he charged me 20% tips which made me not happy!

I like this place. A bit dark inside but it's kinda the point I guess. They have lots of good beer selections. Not cheap.

Great service but the food was bad. We got in late for a quick bite. The staff were very friendly. We ordered the calamari and the poutine and both were not good at all. Would go for drinks but not to eat.

Disappointed with quality of food served. Two people ordered fish and chips...was burnt and dry. Another had the schnitzel...couldn't tell if was chicken or pork and also dry ($25 for that, way too expensive). I had the burger which was good but asked server for ketchup...still waiting! What just capped off a mediocre meal was the lack of toilet paper in the Ladies toilet!! We asked for the Manager after that insult but told he had the night off. No one even offered to adjust the bill. Won't be coming back

unfortunately we did not get a chance to sample the beer or food as our party of eight was turned away from the restaurant. interesting as there were empty tables and we were not given the option to wait for an "available" table. too bad as our guests from germany were looking forward to sampling some local brews. poor showing toronto.

Actually reminded me of my grandmother's cooking. Although not as good, the selection of beers more than makes up for it

This place is always full of excitement! Sometimes it gets very busy so make sure you show up early!

Huge location! My favourite one. If beer isn't your favourite, try the sweeter Fruli beer.

Large but too-trendy draft selection. Food was average. Service was average. Place was too loud for good conversation.

This place has gone on a fairly steady decline ever since they started expanding the franchise. I guess the people who made it great in the first place put their focus else where. It's too bad, it really used to be very good, not it's about the same as any of the other bar food found on the same street.

Went there yesterday which was Monday. Around 6 pm. Service wasn't good. Took forever for a server to come by. Food wasn't great. The pretzels were burned.

Food was ok but our server flat out forgot about us. Manager came and talked to us and did her best to salvage the situation so kudos to her. Recioe your loosing focus on what matters the most.

Used to come here all the time for Belgians over 10 years ago. Not so much these days but they still have a good old school beer selection to choose from.

Nice spot but super loud music. Plan for more of a nightclub experience than a place to sit and drink craft beer.
