Probably the worse hotel ever. As soon as we got into our room the bathroom wall was covered in ants. We took a nap and woke up to cockroaches. When we let the lady at the front desk know she was rude and had no costumer service skills. She told me that what did I expect I was on an island. I told her I wanted something to be done. She said she would send house keepers to spray in the room. It didn't help so I told them I wanted a different room, that one was even worse. Cockroaches all over the place. We would get out of the shower and walk around while getting ready and then the bottom of our feet were black. The carpet was so stained and dirty. It looks like it was never cleaned. When we would go eat in the restaurant inside the hotel there was insects all over tables and menus. I know it's an island. I had just been to western Samoa and another island. Our rooms there we would open the door and be right out side there wasn't a lobby like in Trandwinds. I expected to see cockroaches there and we didn't see any. But this hotel is suppose to be a nice hotel but it was the worst. I don't recommend it at all.
The hotel in general is good the rooms clean and of good size the widest one counts on two bathrooms and a king bed as well as with two small rooms the following category is equal except that it only has a bathroom and a room the Service of the restaurant it is good the food is enough, cheap and good taste the staff is my friendly friendly and attentive always willing to help highly recommended if they plan to come
one of the best place to be when vacationing here in American Samoa.
Pleasant staff, great location if you're visiting the government offices nearby. Rooms all have beds, seats, and TV. Bathrooms were clean. Shortage of towels occassionally. Parking is free, Wifi is extra. Restaurant has amazing prime rib on Tuesdays. Make time in the morning if you're ordering breakfast beyond the continental offering - it takes time but is worth it.
Quiet place.. with a nice swimming pool and social place spa and shop store..even restaurant and a bar... sometimes live music it is also close to the airport no free WiFi though
Clean, quiet, friendly staff, close to shops and airport, ac works, hot water doesn't run out like the other hotel we were in earlier, WiFi $40 for 3 devices for 3 days, free shuttle to airport.
With great customer service and amazing food for any age. Tradewinds hotel is your next stop for a cold or hot day t cool you down at is lovely swimming pool. With spacious room this is your home away from home.
I'm just loving the equator restaurant I would never thought the food would be mouth watering delicious and the price was just perfect not over priced nor under price and the staff was Juss awesome
Staff is very curtious and helpful.
Rooms are very clean. Beds are very comfortable.
Very relaxing stay!
Gorgeous view out, outdoor swimming pool, GYM with old equipment, AC units works well, tuff bed and sleepable, thin and short blankets, good water pressure, hot shower and poor drainage. One of the best places on island and the restaurant is good.
cable sucks and need to upgrade the Ethernet. It is to slow
The restaurant had terrible service. Waiting for ages.
I've stayed here twice now, and my colleague has been staying here for years for business travel to American Samoa. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and the staff are super friendly. One of the great things they offer is late (6 PM) check out for the day you fly out, since the flight off-island back to Hawaii isn't until 1130 PM you can clean up and pack and not have to be out of the room at noon. There is WiFi in the lobby and sometimes in the rooms. There's also an included continental breakfast and full service bar and restaurant.
Good food and nice place for a drink. The outdoor pavilion is a great spot.
Great stay, has everything you need, love to chill by the pool then enjoy a meal and drinks at the bar.
Good customer service, beautiful garden and pool area and it is clean
Very noisy air-con but apart of that very friendly staff
Great place to stay while in American Samoa. Equator bar is cool also. All the bartenders are great especially Savali Auga always has a beer ready.
A great hotel to stay, especially when you're on business. Also some great food and a bar that's always a hot spot to meet up for after work drinks.
First off, the staff deserve five stars. Very friendly and accommodating.
Second, the hotel general areas and room also deserve five stars for cleanliness.
I gave the hotel four stars because of the $40 charge for internet that was slow to nonworking. On days not working, prorating rates were not offered. Yes, the hotel may be a bit outdated, but I see that as adding to the charm.
Nice central location. Filters on the air conditioning units should be cleaned or changed.
Good location to airport and decently clean but still had bugs in my room. Might just be the nature of the island. Pretty views though!
Cozy bar, very homely with friendly staff and professional service. Great menu at the Equator Restaurant with a warm customer service.
Rooms are well presented and well serviced. Nice pool and spacious changing area. No ATM on site but access about 15mins walk from hotel. In house coffee shop with snack bar which are well priced for a hotel/resort. Nice getaway for all walks of life!
The staff was great! The restaurant was good for breakfast and dinner. Enjoyed eleven days there. Best to stay in Pago Pago.
Clean accommodations with a warm friendly staff. Excellent restaurant with a variety of choices. Lovely rooms with teak furniture, Beautiful local wood carvings throughout the hotel.
The only best hotel in American Samoa. Staff are nice and very caring of your needs. Would stay here again while traveling in American Samoa.
A nice hotel for the island of American Samoa. Bar and restaurant has good food. A new pool area and a large parking lot. Shuttle to and from the airport. WiFi has to be paid for and is expensive, and some bugs can get into the room.
It's ok. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The room was nice and very clean. They should do something against the small cockroaches. I know it's hard and I never would say that in a cheap hotel but if you have to pay that much I expect at least traps or something like this.
The restaurant was good. Delicious breakfast.
I was not in the pool but it looked very well maintained.
I really don't get how we have to pay for our internet after we payed for a room that's $156 that comes with either a tv that doesn't work or it has such bad image quality.
I called front desk and asked them when the gym closes and they tell me that the gym is 24hrs. As soon as I go into the gym around 9:30pm, I start working out but then an hour later, the security guard comes in and tells me that it's closed and I have to leave.
Before going to the gym, I went for a swim and the front desk told me that they close at 10:30pm. I went to swim at 7pm and then the security guard tells me the pool is closed and it's only 8:30pm.
That's some Bullcrack.
The maids complain about a room being a mess but I guess they don't know what they're job is about. You get paid to do your job.
Also, some staff members seem to have a loose mouth when talking bad about a person in samoan which is so rude. Just because I don't look like I'm Samoan, doesn't mean I can't understand the language.
It's a beautiful hotel but I advise that customer service will be improved immediately.
Overall good but was not expecting to pay so much for Wifi. Also printing costs and others involved. I was very pleased however with staff response to questions and restaurant was very reasonable.
A beautiful hotel with personal customer service, with local Samoan customs/ culture.
Love the place. High time recommended if your visiting the island. Great place
Awesome staff! Nice building inside and out! Most helpful staff out of dozens of hotels/motels I've been in over the years. Plenty of parking, if you need a car.
Great local hotel. Very clean and everyone was very helpful and nice. Will definitely stay again when I come back to Pago Pago.
Great accommodations, friendly and courteous staff.
The staff is awesome! Especially the front desk girls - they could not be more friendly! Two problems though... The first is that not only do they charge for WiFi, but they charge heavy!!! I got around this by going to the local bluesky cell phone provider and getting a prepaid sim card for my Verizon phone which is not supported by Verizon on American Somoa. The WiFi hotspot on my phone worked flawless down there and the girls at bluesky must do this for a good number of people as they knew exactly what I was there for before I even finished my sentence and had me out the door in less than 10 minutes! (Cost $25 for 2gig data, plus my phone and texts were covered)
The second problem is that I went straight to Tradewinds from the airport when I landed and it happened to be around 7:30 am. Upon check in they had rooms that were clean because they were not booked the night before, so you would think they would be fine with me checking in early (I was just going to leave my bags in the room and then head to the national park). I've checked into hotels before check in time all over the world and as long as they were not sold out the night before I've never paid anything for this little convenience -EVER... Tradewinds wanted $80 for this!!!! (I said no and returned at 2pm).
To give Tradewinds some credit they did have a good shuttle service waiting for everyone upon landing at the airport. I guess they also have rental cars, but I did not know this ahead of time and I rented from Avis. Also the room was clean and I really liked the tile floor in the room.
I'm still in awe what they were charging for WiFi (see picture). People may say" it's hard to get internet on the island"... All I can say is that my sim card from bluesky worked PERFECT and fast (almost all ways 4g all over the island). Other peoples reviews said the hotel WiFi was slow and had problems cutting out.
Big comfortable rooms
Warm friendly staff
Close to airport
Very highly recommended
I stayed with my family for only one night just to have an enjoyable and relaxing day. We were told that the equators serve free breakfast and that we can bring to our room. I went there with my 2 sisters getting our foods . the waitress was so rude to us telling us to hurry up just cuz we waiting the line but there no people behind then I told her okay were done. And we were about to head outside she has the nerve to tell us we can't and that we sat our table with no telling us politely. Just because we are not looking like adults it doesn't mean you can treat us like were animals . great room but bad food service. Not a great way to start our morning!!!
Relaxing and best hotel in Tutuila. The Equator restaurant serves great food. Friendly service from staff. A great getaway for the weekend.
Local hotel with several amenities; pool, gym, bar, restaurant, cafe, spa. Convenient location to the airport, providing shuttle service. There is a cafe inside serving espresso, cappuccino, americano, Lattes, etc.
Not a very nice to stay.
The hotel and rooms are dated and in bad need of renovation. Restaurant was fair, nothing exceptional with slow service. Internet you have to pay for on top of the accommodation and is hopeless. You waste your time just sending/receiving small emails, and no chance of covering internet applications as you'd be logged out due to the slow connection. I've had dial up that is much faster.
This was not a pleasant experience.
Had a delicious cappuccino here made with a real espresso machine. On the way out used the ladies room. I would give this place ten stars for the spotlessly clean restroom!
