So disappointing that we have waited HOURS and still no sign that we will be attended soon. I brought my daughter because she have on and off fever which has lasted for days already. We already brought her to urgent care but still no relief. So we decided to bring her to ER because I presumed that we will be attended immediately and will received better diagnostic services. But to my dismay, it seems the wait takes forever. You can die in the waiting area if you have heart or breathing problem. We started queueing from 9pm and its almost 1 Am already we were still not attended. Its so uncomfortable to sit in the waiting area because you keep on scratching over your exposed skin because of tiny insects thats biting you. I am not sure if its mosquitoes or bugs. We finally decided to leave around 2 am. This should not be named as ER if you cannot give immediate care to your patients. If I can rate you zero I will. I will never recommend this hospital to anybody!

The pediatrician recommended that we take our daughter to the er after a cut that needed stitches got infected. The pediatrician sent over her info and called ahead to let them know we are coming. Within the first 30 min we got checked in and the billing department came out and requested us to pay $400 upfront. We said okay we will take care of it. Now sitting here three hours later we still haven t been called back and we can t leave cause we are already paid in. This is a shame for the fourth largest city in the USA. You should have enough doctors to cover the floor and get patients seen ASAP.
And please don t respond asking to call Family Advocacy line as I m not interested in any excuse as to why you are understaffed and nothing has changed. Hire more people that is the solution. Thank you.

I will NEVER return with any child of mine again, I'd rather take them to Methodist or an urgent care. Firstly the nurse had a very bad eye rolling issue, secondly for a 4 month old infant who's fever has peeled to 104.1 should not be waitiing almost 4 hours before a single person steps in the room. We still haven't been seen after 4 hours, mind you his pediatrian called them prior to because it was urgent. Smh, very sad case. But you guys are here for our children.

I came in to the ER due to an injury my daughter had gotten at school. They ask me the reason i was coming in so i explained my daughters situation so then the ER RN Marianne Oldroyd asked the reason of our visit so i explained and right away she stepped out and brought in the ER App Kim Portal, she examined my daughter to make sure my daughter didn't need immediate attention they gave my daughter medecine for her pain and explained verbatim what all was going to happen those are the type of medical group i like my children to be around they make my kids and myself feel at ease with our visits. Thank you ladys you all did an amazing job.

I couldn't be more pleased. My baby boy had a very pleasant experience beginning to end. July 5th my son was scheduled for Urologic Surgery an I tell you it seemed as if EVERTHING other then the kitchen sink was being thrown at me. From my car battery dead ( NEEDED A JUMP), medical transportation would be delayed 48hrs., Running late and not sure I'd even get to Texas Children's on time, ONLY to be informed that I would not be able to get another appointment until 3-4 months out. NO WAY, JOSE'! The procedure has been put off due to life's many challenges, say 3yrs. NOT TODAY, IT WAS CRUNCH TIME!!!
I called to see if Ms. Carolyn w/ Dr. Cohen's office could help. She tried but to no avail (THANKS A MILLION MS. Carolyn!!!). So with time running out I decided to take matters into my own hands a keep TC in 100% communication of my every move. So I try again to start my car and it in no way turns over so I call my brother Richard for assistance. Well, what do you know, starts up tge first try! With 45 min. left I call to ler the team know I'm officially on my way. While speaking with the department personnel I was asked how long would be, I time it to about 20-25 min. Clearly coming for the opposite end of the city (SPRING/ FM 1960); late. AND WE'RE OFF! Sure Nothing would get in my way!
However, If Things Can Go Wrong They Will! An accident 8 min. from our destination, before EXIT 1B. An eighteen wheeler and SUV's front end connected. THANK YOU YAHWEH for UNMERRITED FAVOR! It could've been us. So, now we're delayed once more. Nevertheless, something KEPT saying continue on to the hospital.
When we arrived, I PARK in the WRONG garage. But I'm able to get to the information desk to check in. While finding out I am in the WRONG building. Moving as fast as I can without dragging my little one, I encourage him to run through the hall with me. "BET YOU CAN'T CATCH ME, SUGEE NANE (Lol, nickname.)!" NOW, you know we were told to walk down the hallway and NO running as children but this had to be there exception. I get to the 3rd floor and was told the 9th floor; 9th floor Nuroligy, 9th floor Nuroligy says after waiting 13 m. to check in, WRONG floor go down to 8. Making my way to 8 only to be told "This is the clinic, you must check in on 7." REALLY? Somehow, by passing the 7th floor I end up back where we started. 3! So up we go, the 7th floor. I hurry to the desk to check in. In hopes that I am able to continue. Knowing that ths crazy has hd me fighting an uphll battle for at least 1:45 min. Overwhelmed, I wait my turn. As I approach the desk to check in I was greeted with the most friendliest smle. Then before I could explain... "YOUR ALL SET, They should be calling you next!" So taken back by the early morning events tears began to well up in my eyes. At that moment Ms. Sandra the Out Patient registrar reassured me that everything will be just fine. (Ms. Sandra, THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP )
The young lady technician was just as nice, she made vitals easy breeze as she gave my son his V.I.P pajamas. Not to mention my son lost his comfort toy (Mickey & Goofy sports car from Walt Disneyworld) and an all out manhunt to get it back in time for surgery arose. Mission Impossible= Mission Accomplished!
I also appreciate the kindness shown to my son by Miss Stephanie L. Child LIFE Specialist as she explained what would take place before he received Anastasia. I was TRULY satisfied with how she was able to put such a complexes procedure to a 3 yr.old. Then to have the children could pick their flavor to be administered during the sugercial preparation process was very considerate. By the way TC has the most thorough Social WORKS, they get right down to bussines. In a heartbeat .
Our son is recovering well wih respect to minor Post- Operative pain.
Most Importantly, I would like to say THANK YOU to the Anesthesiologist and Pre- Operative Personnel as well as Dr. Cohen and Residents. BE BLESSED BE WELL.

I can t say anything bad about this place because THIS place saved my son who is now 4years old. My son journey started with Texas Children s when he was only 6 weeks old with a failing liver, known as Congenial Biliary Atresia. Who has since before he turned two had his liver transplant. From the nurses on the 11th, 12th floor and PICU from his doctor s and liver and renal team they were all AWESOME. Til this day they make sure that my son is in the best of care. 10/24 will be 3 years my son s life was saved. Wouldn t have it any other way. TCH is the best hands down. THANK YOU TCH!! NURSES & DOCTORS TO EVERYONE THAT PLAYS APART IN OUR CHILDREN LIFE AND WELLBEING

Horrible waiting time. My daughter has a tibia fracture on her leg and needs to get a cast on it. I arrived at 12pm and it is now 6pm and have yet to see a doctor. I'm not even from Houston I'm visiting from San Antonio...
I've never waited this long at the emergency room before. Too bad the ER is all my insurance will cover since I have out of state insurance.

Terrible. Horrible wait time. I've been here for 4 hours already and I haven't even gotten an ultrasound yet. I'm so mad. We live hours away and we will be here forever still because once we get the ultrasound we then have to wait another hour to get any results. I wouldn't come here again if you paid ME.

1star isn t even low enough.

1star isn t even low enough.
I took my son there because he was complaining about a pain in his lower waistline. Got there, waited 2 hours to get to a room. Which they were busy so that wasn t a problem. Waited another a while in the room. Not once did a nurse or anyone come to check on him to see if he needed any type of pain medication or anything at all for that matter. I asked a nurse when would someone be in to see him, she said oh about 30 minutes . After an hour and a half of nothing, I asked another nurse when would someone be in to check on him, he said let me see , and never returned with a response. All the while there was like 6 to 8 nurses/ staff talking loudly, joking, playing calling each other names in Spanish. After 4 to 4 1/2 hours of nothing. We left. Went down the street to another hospital where my son ended up having to have emergency surgery.
Yet they are quick to take insurance information from patients.

It disgusts me that they do not accept ANY insurance available to those that are self-employed IE Marketplace Plans. The lowlifes and poor are welcome all day long at Texas Children's, however, if you are a self employed, middle class American you get zero. This is what Obamacare has done for us, the actual people that are the ones funding that despicable program. Complete joke on Texas Children's. I will not making any donations or donating to ANY cause that will support that hospital.

This is the worst emergency room!!!!

The staff at Fall Creek are the rudest people that i have ever encountered at Humble Pediatrics. Telling me i have to stay with a Dr. that I am uncomfortable with. I will transfer to another Dr.s office before i go back to see the Dr. that I am uncomfortable with. This still is America and I will choose the Dr. I please not the one they tell me i have to see. I hope they fire all the staff and start over with some new ones. I have been a patient of Humble pediatrics since 1981 and this office is the worst on staff. And i will change Dr.s quicker than you can say Texas Children affiliated

All they care about is money. I called and they didn t accept my insurance and I was ok paying out of pocket for my high risk pregnancy. They bill office quoted me for $68,000. This included c- section which they did not know that I would receive but I was told that before I can be seen I had to come up with $68,000 first. Look, they just released a little both, baby Nick and didn t give him a chance on life support.

We have been dealing with TCH for about 2 years now. My now 17 year old daughter has been diagnosed with chronic urticaria and angiodema as well as an autoimum disorder. They thought she may have a thyroid problem so she was tested and diagnosed her with graves. After consulting with the doctors we d etermined the best method of treatment would be to have the thyroid removed. The doctors hoped this would cure the urticaria. During surgery she was given morphine for pain and had to be taken back to ER for hives in one day after being discharged. She was treated and after three more days in the hospital was again released with no new answers of the cause. We later found through research that morphine can cause large hives so why would she have been given morphine? Now she will be on medicine for the rest of he life and we have not yet receive confirmation from pathology the it was indeed graves. The lack of TCH doctors being willing to dig deep and find the root cause has me deeply discouraged with their care and concern for the patient.
And I don't even get a personal response from TCH. They just change the name and send out the same response to all. Kind of like their service. Not very personal.

This hospitals billing department continues to rep...

This hospitals billing department continues to report medical procedures on my personal "my chart" from patients that are not me. Meaning, I can see medical procedures being completed on other people. Maybe the hospital is trying to double bill insurance companies? It makes me wonder if other people can see my private information? I have contacted the billing department MANY times, and have reminded them that this is a HIPAA violation, yet this keeps happening. The nurses and most doctors are pretty great, but the billing and "risk management/legal" department are worse than Comcast...

I suppose my next step is to report the violation. I guess i'll need to figure that out.

I admire the professionalism of the staff in that they were able to diagnose a condition which our son's PCP couldn't diagnose. He had Typhus Fever!!! You can't imagine how shocked I was to hear that after the PCP nurses had repetitively told me it was a virus that would go away. What I didn't appreciate was the lack of information. For one thing, they "interned" my son without consulting me first; it took forever for them to tell me what was wrong. The first two intern doctors I spoke with kept telling me they only had five minutes to speak with me. The nurses wouldn't always come when I called them; I found this especially annoying when my son said he was in pain because of the IV. So the scientific know how is very good; the service, maybe not so good.

Nurses at 2 in the morning are nonchalant about the meaning that you're there my baby had a fever and all they did was quickly run the insurance information and send me a picture of a waiting room that is over capacitated full of more sick and germy kids and bad attitudes from the people to the staff even with me telling them that I know my child she's not this way normally that she's sick they went ahead and try to discharge me because they wanted the fever to be more than a hundred and four on a one-year-old so after making a complaint to one of the nurses the nurse took it upon herself to take the temperature and seen that my daughter was indeed in that parameter and now they had to do a urine sample mind you have already been here 6 hours now I have to sit here another hour or so for the test results to get back for something that I had just told them and they decided to try to discharge all the people that was inside of the waiting room to get the capacity level down if in fact this is a hospital for children they should take more caution and care for children a fever can Skyrocket at any moment and with me sitting here for 6 hours that's exactly what happened because no one had checked it since I have been here at 1 this morning. Just check it at 7 this morning to see

Y all. Dr. Harris is the most genuine, hilarious, straight forward doctor I ve ever met! She has me laughing for every appointment while also maintaining a stellar professional front. She is truly awesome and has made my first time pregnancy so enjoyable. The entire staff at Texas Childrens is always in a positive mood, has conversations with you, there is never a long wait time and everyone is so friendly! The rooms are clean, parking is super easy and convenient, technology is advanced..no wonder it s the top ranked hospital in the world to give birth. I am due October 5th and I know my family and I are going to be well taken care of. Dr. Harris, YOU ARE A ROCKSTAR.

ONLY RATING SO LOW BECAUSE:

-RECORDS DEPT. primarily "Hazel". thanks for hanging up on me.

-BIRTH REGISTRY was a joke, they submitted our paperwork to the state with multiple errors! now we must fight with the state of Texas (which is a gigantic hassle!) to get correct spelling on her birth certificate. and they didn't enroll her into social security. so now here we are 7 weeks later after birth and have to scramble because you dropped the ball. and when i called to get this all corrected i am given the run around by your department and received attitude from one lady(not sure of name).

My five year old granddaughter was brought into the emergency department this morning with complications of a viral illness. She was immediately taken to a room and seen by the nurse and within a few minutes had seen the doctor. A blood test was ordered and a person from "Child life" came to talk with her about having an iv catheter. She was shown the equipment that was to be used and was given a doctor's kit as well as a doll that had an iv catheter.
Being a nurse I am rather critical in reviewing hospitals and clinics but in this case I can say without reservation that the care here was outstanding and all of the employees were warm, reassuring and caring. Dr Fine (hope that spelling is correct) was professional and and an excellent communicator. Our anxiety level was high and in spite of this she was patient in explaining what we could expect as far as Lilly's care and recovery. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to anyone, it is outstanding!

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. YOU WILL BE OVERCHARGED AND YOUR FUNDS WILL BE MISAPPROPRIATED.
Unfortunately the billing department is the worst I have ever dealt with out of any institution and they will over estimate your total cost and when you have overpaid will move the funds elsewhere to different accounts and never ever refund it. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS HOSPITAL AGAIN. Here I come Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital. At least they are honest.

We brought my brother in severe pain in an ambulance mind you and they didn't even bother checking him signed us in and told us to wait in the lobby. I asked once two hours had passed and I asked for the wait time and was told you just got here the longest wait time is 6 hours so another 4 hours or so. My brother stated his pain was an 8 shivering could barely walk, they cleared the lobby twice with people who got there after us and we were still waiting. Took 3 hours before staff noticed no one bothered registering us and when she finally did she took a bill of 1000 for us to consent to when they had not even checked my brother. Giving this a 3 because after 5 and a half hours of waiting they finally checked him and the nurse and Doctor are wonderful very attentive but we got here at 8am and its 4:12am shouldn't take that long especially when someone is in very bad pain. P.S the ambulance staff where jerks stating we could have just driven instead of calling them and hitting every bump in the road and laughing when my brother yelled out in pain.

I had two kids admitted here and could not recomme...

I had two kids admitted here and could not recommend Texas Childrens. First, my daughter received a 3rd degree heat/chemical burn from the hospital pulse oximetry monitor. My daughter is 2 yo and was unable to tell us the pulse ox was BURNING her toe. Her nurse insisted that pulse ox monitors do not hurt. She screamed at the top of her lungs all night long in agony and the medical resident did not investigate and he did not physically examine her. We took her to a pediatric dermatologist afterwards and the dermatologist at Kelsey Seybold said it was a heat/chemical burn from the tape. The day shift doctors and attending physicians seem competent but the nightshift residents had zero knowledge and poor bedside manners. Second the hospital failed to treat my other child's high blood sugars properly and promptly. One arrogant Baylor resident tried to bully us and she commanded us, the parents, to not check my other child's high blood sugars. This lunatic Baylor resident blamed, ranted and raved at us at 2 a.m. for wasting her time, bc she had to wait while we were speaking with the endocrinologist on the phone. We were very offended that this Baylor resident had the nerve to tell us how often to monitor our child esp since his blood sugars were going through the roof. I am sure this the Baylor resident would not like to have a glucose over 300 with ketones herself, but she wanted to follow cookie cutter hospital rules because she didn't want to wake up the attending physician after hours. The young, inexperienced Baylor medical residents lacked empathy, personal initiative, compassion, and concern, and in some respects this is more disturbing than their failure to give proper medical treatment due to gaps in knowledge and poor common sense.

Brought my 18 month old in for dehydration. We waited between two and three hours. Went to ask how much longer they thought it would be and was told another five hours! I asked if we could go to theTCH urgent care instead and was not so nicely informed that I would just be sent back down to the ER to wait again. Zero compassion. I then asked what the wait times were at the other locations and was rudely told they were long as well. Mind you We had seen our TCH primary three times already that week because our son was VERY ill and had not eaten or hardly taken fluids in several days. Primary can not administer fluids. So we basically had the choice of leaving and continuing to try and give our son water with a syringe. Or go to another ER and hope for the best. TCH is SUPPOSED to be the best for children in our area. We left in tears. They are under staffed, staff they do have is over worked and it shows in their demeanor. Small children and infants should always be made a priority! It was an eye opening experience. I felt sorry for the families who had to continue to wait.

I do feel like I need to mention that we have been back in the ER before, once you get past the hell that is admittance the doctors and nurses are very qualified and professional.

I thought the care was good, but the TCH charges were obscenely high, considering what was done. I brought my 5 year old son here when he swallowed a quarter and started to complain of a pain in his throat. We were initially admitted to the ER where we remained for ~4 hours until a treatment room opened up and then we spent ~ 8 hours there. During our 12 hour stay, we got two x-rays, spoke to a doctor for a total of ~10 minutes, and only received two bags of saline for hydration, but no other medication. TCH charges for 12 hours of "care" (us sitting in various rooms) amounted to over $5,000 and this will cost us ~$2,750 after insurance adjustments. I understand that TCH is a business, but this amount for glorified baby-sitting is just absurd.

What a waste of time and money!! We have been to Texas Children for both of our children and both times have been disappointing. The first time was with urology. Doctor had poor bedside manners and only prescribed a medication. Never looked any more into what was wrong than take a pill.
But the second time was even more disappointing with Pediatric Orthopedics. Our child went through 4 1/2 hour MRI and we were told that the results would be in the next day. I called and called only to be told they didn't know anything. I continued to call for weeks, everyday. Then a few weeks later I called and finally talked with the doctor and all she could tell me was they would be consulting on the case and get back to us. I tried calling after that to find out results but of course no one knew anything. We later got a letter in the mail stating the doctor was going to another hospital and we would need to find a new doctor. I gave up getting any help from them.

I would suggest they provide more entertainment for kids in the lobby area as the wait time can be extremely long. Doctors and staff were friendly, showing great concern. This is my second day in a row here. Not only did they not do anything for my child on yesterday, they have yet to give her anything for her fever today. We checked in at 2 am and it is now 5:35 and we haven't had anything done but vitals. I thought fevers that high could result in seizures? I'm totally disappointed in the service here.
