My son was on a car accident , hit his head in the window, he was complaining of a headache, I decided to bring him to TCH ER, you would think a concussion after an accident would be considered a priority. We waited over 4 hours in the waiting room to be seen by a physician.
By far the worst emergency room ever. I was sent from urgent care because they said I needed to bring my son to ER for treatment and once I got here the second shift staff was great they got us checked in and to the imaging.Once the labs were over they told to wait in the main waiting area we waited and It has been almost six hours and shift change happened and the night staff is rude their response time is poor and not one patient has been called in three hours I had to ask for pain meds for son and they could not find him in the system. Then the nurse comes out with a check off list and starts to ask people their name to see who has left and who stayed well the nurse looks at me and walks pass me without asking who I was there for so I waited until she made her way around the whole waiting area then she starts to speak loud and is like well im calling names to see who is here and the worst part is my sons name was last on that big list and I was like you saw me sitting there and didn't ask me anything. After that happen another hour has passed now I have been waiting seven hours and still no service my son is in pain and we still have not gotten any information from imaging and I asked how many people are ahead if my son and they said you only been here six hours and the longest person nine hours you gonna have to wait about that much time as well to be seen and that is just nuts already I get better response time at LBJ I never waited in any ER this long for treatment ever.I don't think I would recommend this hospital to anyone. People could die in their waiting room because nurses don't make rounds to see how patients in the waiting area are doing or to see if they need pain management medicine. The only peope that come out are the billing people and asking for names and people think they are about to get treated but no it is just billing to make sure the hospital collects payment for basically waiting in the waiting area and still noone has been called but you can hear the nurses laughing and joking around and being loud

If i could give zero i would. My daughter has been a patient of dermatology since birth. And it's always something .... Scheduling is awful i showed up to my appointment that they made over the phone and text me with and the appointment was changed... No notification. Also i paid for valet parking. My child may have been exposed to covid-19 due to their lack of communication. I'm looking for another dermatology office that's not no way affiliated with TEXAS CHILDREN'S
We took our 11-month old daughter here because she had a fever and had blood in her stool. We end up waiting several hours before we actually see a doctor. We then are simply told it's likely a virus and shouldn't we worried. We then have to push for a stool test. Long story short we see the she had salmonella. So for 15 minutes of doctor time, hours of waiting, a dose of Motrin, and a stool test - we get billed over $2000 in expenses. Absolutely ridiculous. I will never be back to this hospital and strongly recommend that anyone else go to an urgent care facility where they will get better treatment at a much much better price.

One of them is Hispanic, a common thing of not attending well has errors and does not accept their name is Melissa Rodriguez and the other I only know that she is a brunette also very bad service is done and they help each other to hide and not attend and if they attend is in a bad way
The first time they made a bad appointment for my son, he was not eating for several hours for the exam and Melissa Rodriguez did nothing to be attended if they had us waiting for more time and the wrong date she just blamed Melinda and the brunette just laughed
These people should not be in patient care

My son had a swallow evaluation today by Dr. Lavergne and she was awesome... plus the play area was great and the staff was friendly and quick to help:)
My four month, 14 pound baby was drug overdosed and our visit was through the ER! His pedi doc Don Schaffer was waiting there when we got there. The staff scooped the baby from my arms and immediately went to work on getting the baby stable. The entire ER staff was amazing! My baby was admitted and the staff on the floor were incredible. They changed his diaper through the night and told me to stay asleep since I was absolutely exhausted and drained from the anxiety of the entire issue! I cannot say enough about Texas Children's Hospital and their amazing team of docs and nurses! Highly recommend them to everyone around the world!!!!!!!!!!!
Great staff, except one receptionist at the check out where I go to see my Rheumatologist. She's so rude to my mom and I. I was about to give her a piece of my mind. We have spoken with her supervisors many times before, but her attitude still has not changed which is disappointing.
The wait time is ridiculous! They have most of the rooms full but yet they have time to talk and laugh while we are in a room waiting to be seen. We were in the lobby for about 5 hours. You can hear alot of talking and laughing amongst the employees in the West Tower emergency room. They could've seen us and got the next patient in but they dont s that. Also, when you finally get in to a room its still another long wait. Lastly, this is a learning hospital so parents need to understand to ask questions and request the attending physician to be present when they are going to do a procesure. The students(residents) should not be allowed to perform a procedure with the attending present. So with that being said they need to get busy doing what they are getting paid to do which is get to work!
This hospital is a great place for a child, not great as they once were but if you have a kid with a serious medical condition, go here. Do not risk your child at some/most of the other local hospitals.
The staff was wonderful but we had to wait from 11pm till 6.30am in ER to be able to see a doctor. 8 friggin hours of wait.
They had just 2 doctors for close to 300 patients. Crazy. If this is the epitome of health services , they should just let better administrators manage the hospital.

Their cardiology and heart center was ranked #1 in the nation. Beating out Boston, who held that ranking for more than the past ten years.
They did not take care of my 4-year-old son, because he did not have insurance and we did not have the 300 dollars they wanted, MY son had a fever and they still let him go without receiving any attention from the hospital. They do not respect the laws of the state of texas

My friend had cancer and went to Texas Children's Hospital. From what I've seen from coming to visit her, the nurses and doctors are all very nice and my friend loves all of them. I am so grateful for the care she has gotten here. Thank you Texas Children's Hospital!

Is horrible, they sent me bill 1100 $ for EEG test for my daughter which she has medic aid texas Children's insurance ,at the moment appointment and before test and after test 3 times I asked them If they were able to accept my insurance ? They told me yes, don't worry your insurance cover everything, these unprofessional so called workers lied to me and sent me a bill , Now I have to pay, I don't have any extra money to pay for their mistake.

I recently had an issue with the Texas Children's Sleep Center and after talking with Advocacy, and Wes (who, by the way, was very empathetic and kind) I thought that everything was cleared up and on its way to be better. Unfortunately, I was wrong and am having yet another bad experience with the sleep center.
I do not have my notes with me but Wes had a particular scheduler work on getting Shelby in, I think her name was Toni. She was very, very nice and very quickly got Shelby in to the West Campus on 8/26/18. Having learned from prior mistakes I confirmed that Shelby could be seen there because of her tier classification and I was assured yes, it wasn't a problem. This morning I received a call from Marty (I believe) at the West Campus telling me that actually Shelby could not be seen at the West Campus and she tried to explain why but as I told her, I am fully on top of and aware of my daughter's medical needs. I don't read a chart to learn about my daughter, I'm a daily fixture in her life and she is a daily fixture in mine. Furthermore, I questioned the (once again) misleading information as this is not the first time I have had a sleep study scheduled at a one campus just to be called shortly before the study to be told that "Oops, we made a mistake and she has to be rescheduled to be seen somewhere else.". My question to these scheduler's, supervisors, physicians, and that department is: Would this be acceptable if this was your child? If the answer is no, which it likely is, it not acceptable for mine either.
It has been made apparent to me that the scheduling staff thoroughly lacks training. It also seems as though the right hand is unaware of what the left hand is doing and furthermore it seems as though there is a lack of investment in patient care. I say that, because, just rearranging or cancelling a sleep study for Shelby has an impact on other things. Her dad and I both work full-time, but more importantly Shelby has therapy 5 days a week. When she has a sleep study we have to either cancel or rearrange therapies. Her therapist have been planning for this study, as has my job, for almost 2 weeks now. Missing therapy can ultimately (in the long run) impact further authorizations which would result in a loss of service. It would be very upsetting for either of us to lose our jobs for calling in, or worse Shelby to lose therapy services, because the Sleep Center has a repetitive pattern of mis-scheduling and misinforming. It would also be wise that in the future these people acknowledge what a parent is telling them. As I have stated before: Yes, there are physicians who are medical experts but as Shelby's mom and her primary caregiver I am the expert on Shelby.
It would be nice for someone, at some point, to heed what is being said. These things should not escalate and the fact that I am seriously considering driving 6 hours round trip to Cooks in Fort Worth is sad. It is sad that Texas Children's, especially one department who has had minimal involvement with Shelby, has been enough for me to go to such lengths.

Awesome doctors and staff! They treat us with respect. And explain everything in detail if we don't understand. And a plus they have parking that you pay $13.00 for and they park your car for you so you don't have to try to find a parking spot.
the worst ER! we came around 4 pm and see the doctor around 12.20 am.Many patient complains and some of them are leaving.they said average wait is 8hrs.The funny things is people came after us got to see the doctor first.they said they are critical condition.how can they said the patients are in critical condition when they can walk around.liars!
Dr. Veeral Shah in Ophthalmology is one of the most outstanding Doctors I have ever been fortunate enough to encounter. We came from New Mexico for strabismus surgery (eye muscle surgery) on my 15 month old son, even after finding out he and TCH were considered out of network for our insurance companies. The nurses and techs all rave about him, and for good reason. He's compassionate, down to earth, experienced, and takes any amount of time necessary to explain any aspect of my son's care to us. he never makes us feel rushed in the exam room, and he never makes us feel annoying or crazy for asking any questions we have. He is one of the good ones.
Very bad experience with the dr of emergencies and of nicu 2 my baby of 2 months arrived with bronchiolitis I still got a bottle but struggled to breathe they put oxygen to level 2 and serum from 7 in the morning they More
Iam sooo sad last year from the nurses to the doctors where incridable fantastic what? Happen? Where the go? This not the hospitalthat i was fully through. that i will not take mychild againg its soo sad i get in at 535am i did stay still 230 pmand tru all that time. The doctor only give him motrin and at the and i did has to ask for future medice but because i did said something about and my son was with planty of fiver so i stay there just for a medicene that i can give him at home the the nurses didnot said anything or do anything at least that you when to the desk also i have cover full .the rooms where full or hair nasty resroom i just in shock!!! What happened to that wonderful people ..its 2019 its for getting better not going backwards.really sad!!!
Love this hospital. Obviously no hospital is perfect because we are all human. This is the best though I ve seen anyone treat our kids. The place is clean as well and has such nice facilities. I wished we lived closer so when we need to use the hospital we could just go here. Best in the business.
I do not like at all doctors very distracted forget the chekeos k ya an echo say I think k has this and then they say no it was not that I think k has the other and not again .. I was left without eating 9 hours a my baby because they forgot that they gave me orderly k did not feed him
How Horrible to learn that a place that is suppose to protect children and their families actually has caused permanent and irriversable trauma. I heard on the news of the family that brought in their son and was falsely accused of child abuse. It made me weep and cry to hear the voices of that nice family have their children pulled away from them at their own home and then have them place in unsafe foster homes. I will never ever forget this hospital for the unjust that has been done. The worst is that the people who did this horrible thing to this poor family are still employed. You are just awful.

I love their new online MyChart tool. I can ask questions, and they help me stay on top of what needs to follow next. Everyone I have meet in the last year has wonderful customer service skills, They smile and are very helpful.
All my experiences with TCH have been pretty awesome as far as the clinics there. Been going on & off for almost 3 years & the Dr's that we've came across have got to be our angels Dr. Wirthlin is the best most dedicated & loving Orthodontist we know & his staff is just amazing! They took care of my baby! From day 1 we stepped in their clinic we definitely felt the love & care for our baby girl.We also know Dr.Buchanan which is our plastic surgeon Dr & all I can say is that we are thankful for his wonderful work & dedication! There's too many good things to say about the clinics at TCH my daughter's & I really enjoy coming to our appointments. Definitely the best Dr's & staff team!

Dr. Gonzales was our son's pediatric urologist and he was great. He is knowledgeable and has a very good bed side manner.
This place mistreated a child and had security beat on a little girl. This happened while her little sister was taken off of life support. The poor mom was yelling to leave her kids alone. I didn't see that little girl say or do anything to the staff. Me and my husband quickly looked for another hospital due to this incident they did this in front of patients and their families. WHAT A NIGHTMARE FOR THAT FAMILY!!

Poor service and long wait on the emergency room. My experience was really negative. Staff is ok but their system and doctors are not very good. I don't understand why this hospital is name as children. I just understand! And i though the NY hospitals were the worst but now I really appreciate them, here the wait time is longer than I expected they under staff.

The Texas Children Cardiology department is one of the most inactive Doctors ever. They do not act fast and don t tell you when things are getting serious. They failed to tell us about my brother disease how fatal it was and they should ve acted before and explained more clearly. My brother was a patient since he was 13 but since they start to see he was getting more ill, they didn t know what to do and just transferred him to Methodist. Where he never got out. My brother is not suffering anymore but Texas Children failed medically. Dr. Lam especially.

I wish if I can put zero star as they deserve it This is not hospital It is shelter if you want place to sleep and no one care of you just go there and take rest because no body care there is no doctor's. My son was extremely cry and no one take care .we have to repeat the story 100s time .we keep waiting more than 4 hours with no result .people are so rude and not respectful at all . The RN assign to our daughter has been outstanding in his line of work always asking us do we comprehend the situation or he wouldn't mind explaining him self multiple times until we understood Gustavo Herrera is an excellent nurse
I got to the emergency room with my mom at 4:00 pm with very bad abdominal pain & bleeding which messed with my breathing and they didnt see me untill the next day at 6:00 am . I waited 15 hours just to be seen, they constantly told me there was 2 people in front of me for hours & kept delaying the time. I recommend that if its an emergency dont go here. Go to an urgent care center .
The clinical care Center is wonderful! Everyone that works there is kind, they listen to you, and take the time to answer all questions. I love the way my children and I have been treated

I am an ex-employee at TCH and this hospital was fun to work at, considering it had its moments...which job out there doesn't, right? Before I became an employee, I had to get blood work completed. I just wished that the person who finally got my blood, (1 other person tried and missed) would have moved or probed the needle around in my arm. Ever since this episode I have experienced tingling. I have NEVER had this happen before and my vein is so big that you can see it across the room. I think that the lab tech needed more training.
I really enjoyed the little babies, but it was unfortunate to have to see the little tiny ones in such condition, but they all conquered illness and then went home!
Worst staff i have ever dealt with. Scheduled my ne patient appt for 2, got there a little late, they told me i was supposed to be there at 1:30... refused to see my SICK son or reschedule.
Really bad experience it took 4 hours for a room also i took my 18 months old baby with fever,cold very sick they told me was a simple cold. Next day i took my baby for his shots to his pediatrician my baby still with fever they did some test and they told me that my baby has the FLU... really they couldn't do that test at the texas children's hospital.!! My baby could have die just because they thought it was a simple cold didn't do any test to him. I am very angry this is supposed to be the best hospital for kids they need to take everything serious They are putting our little ones lives in danger.

Staff is friendly and beutiful bldg. But the waiting area is VERY DIRTY and dirty tissue everywhere. Bathrooms are bad and out dated. I had to clean the area before my daughter got near it. McDonald's was the same problem plus their go gogurt my daughter had in her happy meal was HOT and soda was flat... and worse , LONG WAIT think it's time for new management.... this hospital suppose to be A1
TCH is a great children's and women's hospital, everyone's so friendly and gives the best care, the rooms are good sizes, there are three connected building, can get lost very easily.
It's supposed to be a hospital for professionals and since the first time they treated me, my baby has always been practicing doctors or nurses, I didn't know that.

They are more concerned with making money than patient care. It takes them a couple of hours to call and collect payment over the phone, but you have to hound them with help of the advocacy office to get any answers for test results. Terrible service. And notice that the answers for the bad reviews are only a sorry about your experience. Here is the number to advocacy office.... That should tell you about the customer care service.
They don t have anything for children to sign up for like education or the Mental status something to help them learn better nothing really sad
Came here at 6pm on 3/1/19. It is now 1am and im still here in the waiting area. With only vidals taken. If you plan on coming b prepare to wait a very very long time. You're better off somewhere else. Smh!

First level care, all the people who work here are very friendly and speak English and Spanish, (the majority) if not, there are interpreters and they make you feel understood and there is a lot of personal inclusion
I went to emergency care for my baby. This is the worst experience I ever had. The whole analysis time took 4 hours but the time with doctor is just less than 10 mins. My baby cried for almost the whole time but nurses gave me a disgusting look for my baby who is crying in pain.
Please don't go there in case of emergency.
