My daughter has cancer and sometimes she has fevers and have to stay here for weeks.They put my daughter in a small room with a broken ac that is outdated and they forget about her no activities for my daughters nothing just forgotten. You ll think they would care about a sick child but no they don t

It's a great hospital and one that I trust. Waiting room was filthy and I didn't want to touch anything!! Housekeeping should do more rounds cleaning tables, carpet and chair arms in main waiting area. Besides that, the rooms in ER we're clean and doctors and staff provided excellent care!

It is the best hospital to take care of the children, they are all very friendly and my baby felt at home, since my baby was born I have always visited this hospital in case of emergency and by regular appointments and we always bring us a nice impression of the hospital and everyone in general today my baby is 12 years old and loves texas Childrens hospital.

Your child will die in the waiting room before they see a doctor. Patients waiting over 9 hours with children screaming in pain. Rude nurses. Rude staff. Never got my daughter in to actually see someone! Valet took 20 minutes to bring the car. Will never go back. I absolutely do not recommend. I didn't want to give one star.

I was there about a week ago I arrived at 11:00 pm Saturday night and didn't leave until 6 am. I understand that the volume of visits can be high to the ER on the weekend. My 1 year child had to wait 7 hours to be seen. That is totally disappointing and unacceptable. Texas children has some of the best pediatricians in Texas. Room for improvement on night shift ER staff. Find a effective and effiencent way to see patients in a timely fashion.

Told front desk reception at the emergency center the child changing station was broken in the restroom and gotmlaughed at as I walked away. Thought it was pretty disrespectful and rude.

While I was really pleased with my daughters care as far as her medical staff, that other hospital staff isn t the greatest, the valet in particular. They were pretty rude. After a rough day in the ER yesterday and then having to be admitted to level 4 nicu, I retrieved my car at just 30 min over the 24 hour mark (just as I was getting ready to head out to go home and shower and change, her doctors came around for rounds) and I was charged for two days (they have a daily rate) despite the fact that I told them that I was coming right back as my daughter was still in the nicu and I was going to be paying for another day anyway as I plan to stay overnight with her again. They didn t offer any grace period and the lady who spoke to me was very nasty in her tone when I inquired about it

It is the best Hospital and they take care of the children very nice and there are the best Doctors and the staff is very friendly

The worst experience ever!!I checked in the baby ER room at 7am, I waited over 7 hours !, and while on my 5th hr of waiting they had told me; there's one more patient in front of you then you are next. So I said ok I'll give them an hr. NO! After 2 more hours of waiting I went up there and asked for another update and they said. Well you are the 2nd longest wait after we are done with this stack of papers (1 inch)(which are patients) with a higher emergency than you. I pretty much felt like they just threw me to the side and not considered the fact that my 2 month old baby was sick. Do not come here unless your baby has an arm or a foot missing!!

The doctors are amazing and the nurses are so sweet! They saved my life!

Just to enter into the emergency room and giving your information you get a bill of $1473.63
As they said this is a base charge not including any diagnosis or doctor fee. YOU RECIEVE A SEPARATE BILL FOR ANY SERVICES PROVIDED!!!
They dont advice whether the case can be handled at an urgent care.

We are living in modern era, where medical is a business and not welfare.

My 6 month old son died because of how horrible this hospital is. He had been in this hospital several times for different reasons and the main problem we encountered... None of the doctors could figure out what was going on with him and didn't care enough to try and figure it out. He came in the first time with low oxygen sat levels, put him on oxygen, it got better, took him off, back to the same problem. Since they couldn't figure out why they just referred him to a specialist and sent him home with low oxygen levels .He was 2 months old. At 4 months old he had brain surgery, and during his stay his oxygen levels kept dropping. Doctors couldn't figure out why, did nothing about it, and sent him home. We visited other specialists within TCH about his issues throughout his short life... No one could figure out what was wrong. At 6 months he was having some strange symptoms that were concerning, we went in and all they could focus on was the shunt from brain surgery. Made us wait for hours in the ER, would never allow him to eat except sugar water from a pacifier to help him stop crying. Not even 5 minutes of nursing!!! We got there at about 9 am and it wasn't till about 3pm that a different Dr came in to look at him... Maybe the only good Dr in the hospital. She asked different questions, thought outside of the box and ordered an EKG. They checked and discovered he had an enlarged heart and needed a heart transplant immediately. This had been his issue from the beginning but not one Dr took the time to check his heart out in all his many visits prior despite the same symptomsn, no matter how much I pushed them to try something else. No one listened and treated me like an idiot, over worried mother. They "rushed" him to the PICU because they realized how sick he really was. It was too late. He died at 6:30. These doctors don't care. TCH is lots of waiting, sending you home even if your baby is still sick, no answers. It was one long nightmare of negligence that resulted in the death of my child. Avoid this hospital at all costs!!!

I love the hospital and the doctors but hate the billing department. I have contacted them multiple times regarding a claim. They keep billing with the incorrect diagnosis code and of course my insurance company keeps denying it. They keep telling me they are going to re send the claim with the correct diagnosis code but they don't. When I suggested for them to call my insurance company directly they stated that they do not do that. It has been so frustrating trying to settle this claim!! It makes my want to transfer my daughter's care somewhere else.

It was a wonderful experience until the billing became an issue. Thank you to Ivonne in the billing Dept for following up on my issue and helping me get it resolved!!! Your the best!! Thank you Norma in the family advocacy Dept! Thank you so much for such a quick response to my voicemail!!!

This is THE BEST hospital experience I have EVER had. The entire staff were amazing from valets, to surgeons. Thank you Texas Children's

Takes way to long to get seen as an emergency patient my daughter was there 12/4/18 we waited for 5 hours just to get passed back to a room meanwhile my daughter has to go threw stomach pain and throwing up none stop. Horrible experience wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Review is about Emergency Room. Unreasonable wait time. Arrived at approximately 6pm to be seen around 1 in the morning. Seemed more like a homeless shelter to me. Obviously number of staff available needs to be increased and with all those names on the wall of the ER I'm sure this hospital can and should afford it.

What is taking so long. Its jam packed. If you want your kid to suffer bring them here. If you don't. Show up as a delivery person with food to be seen ASAP. 1/16/2020 5pm-9pm

My child was treated to a large extent by doctors in training, interns and residents, who were inexperienced, over worked, stressed out, and often indifferent about much beyond surviving themselves. This was in the neurology department and the doctors were affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine. They could not answer basic questions about my child's condition and treatment. Many of the more senior doctors used the doctors in training to shield them from interacting with parents. They were rarely available at the hospital and did not respond to calls and messages. Attending physicians on same team and service did not communicate and/or agree on the diagnosis or treatment, and would modify each others plans, diagnosis, medication orders, etc. Despite so many physicians being involved in my child's care, they were not able to control my child's pain, which was very severe for several days. We had to repeatedly ask for a consultation with the pain management team before the neurology doctors brought them in. The pain management team was able to control my child's pain, which he had suffered unnecessarily for days under the care of the neurology department. I believe the neurology department at Texas Children's Hospital is dysfunctional and dangerous. I am not surprised that Baylor was having accreditation related issues at the time, and it became apparent after observing the neurology team closely for an extended period of time, that much more additional oversight, scrutiny, and remedial measures are needed in relation to its clinical training programs.

Great Doctors - Great Service but Worst and pathetic billing and accounting system. it looks like they want to grab as much money they can from you and insurance. i had an experience recently where they tried to double charge me and then charge insurance as well, it took me a long time to explain that they are wrong...
to detail it out:
They charged me some 990$ before my visit saying, if Insurance doesn't pay then we use this amount as base from you, i said okay and i paid that. Later, after few months i received a letter saying i owe them money, we tried to explain that we already paid money now you need to get it from my insurance, they wont listen to us and handed our case to collection agent. I then called my insurance company and asked them to look into it, what we found out was - they charged me 990 some on first day and then charged insurance for some good amount and then they completely removed my initial payment from transaction history and were trying to acquire more money. Insurance and hospital finally looked into it and now are planning to refund me 200 because i paid more. It took me months to explain that they are wrong. i had to face collection agents, we were embarrassed to put at this spot, i was really depressed on thinking how will i pay 1000$ more after i paid initially.

If I could give 0 stars I would. 10 HOURS IN THE ER!!!!! all to get back some results of blood work since my 3 month old has fever. 10 HOURS!!! HORRIBLE would not recommend. Not coming back. Got here @8pm. In the waiting area for 3 hours!! And 7 in the room. They don t even have comfy chairs to sit in. Checked out @6am

Longest time of any emergency rooms I have ever been to, good thing they have comfortable sitting area, 6 hours later we decided to go somewhere else.

My daughter Lilith received excellent care here, she was particularly fond of nurse Reena who was very kind and patient with her during her stay.

My daughter was in pain, but had appts, taken immediately, had surgery doing good at this time at the new Texas children for women, but had a 15yr old had to wait half the nt, she had severe headaches, it was worth the wait the staff is responsible, and caring.this was for children,love them.

Traveled 6 hrs and it was well worth it. Wonderful people great staff in and outside the building

My overall experience here was great.Wonderful,respectful,concerning nurses, but the kitchen needs improvement.My child had a stay for respiratory problems and both days while ordering food we waited well over 65-70 mins.I find that very ridiculous especially considering she hadn't been eating, then she gets an appetite and has to wait and recieve cold food.Would have loved to given 5 stars but there was flaws.

The Reviews is true, the staff is rude. We Waited nurse 30 minutes at least to have the vaccines, I went out two times to see where she is. She is unhappy when she came back. The third time I waited 30 minutes for the Dr Ho. By the way, Dr Ho doesn t speak Chinese , his assistant she speaks, but she has limited vocabulary in Chinese. We pay so much money to visit the Doctor is not for fun. We really worry our baby. This is my third visit. Bad experience.

I must say I am really disappointed with this hospital I don't even know how they got 4 stars. I brought my daughter to the emergency room tonight for breathing problems and the staff acted like it was not a care in the world, mind you it's an emergency room show some compassion staff had horrible attitudes. Never asked me if my daughter was ok said " she looks fine" rushed us to the section where they get your payment info instead of getting a room for my child. Terrible hospital!!

We have had some great doctors here, and some mediocre doctors here. The thing that is so frustrating, though, is the billing. As cash payments, we pay coming in and going out for appointments, what on Earth are we receiving a bill for months later? When calling to ask about billing, there is no streamlined way to find out if what it is for.
It's horrible to make parents of chronically I'll children have to endure the extra stress of your billing department.

Do not take someone here for a emergency they have you wait for ever and the staff are very rude had a awful experience I will never come here again

Staff were very helpful sweet and quick at What they do I'm glad I chose their emergency room they made my 2year old feel welcome overall great experience wish they wouldn't have. Had us wait as long since having a little one waiting is never easy

I love the hospital and the staff but one thing that does frustrate me is the pharmacy on the 3rd floor, we always refill our compound meds here and sometimes I'll call first thing in the morning and I'll pick it up in the afternoon since we live in Cleveland TX but everytime we get here I'm told the medicine is still not ready that its a compound and it takes about 2 hours and my answer is always EXACTLY thats why I called it in early this morning right now I'm currently waiting for my daughter's medicine, it was sent to refill since almost 1pm since we had to come to clinic today, we went to eat and went to take care of something in Kemah now it's 4:11pm and I'm told its not ready cause the pharmacist went to lunch and I should check again in like 30 more minutes and they tell me there is nothing they can do about it and I have to wait, I'm very upset with the pharmacy staff right now.

Texas children hospital is the worse hospital I have ever been too! Been waiting for over 8 hours for them to tell me if shes not dying on the floor then she can wait longer and if she has been waiting that long and she still alive is not that much of an emergency. Are they serious ?????who in their right sane state of mind says that to a worried mother who their kid is. beyond sick??if it wasn't an emergency I wouldn't be here waiting 8 plus hours and still counting. Oh and all those hours waiting and they said they couldn't feed her cause if her stomach hurt then she dont need to eat. Never in my life have I had this experience with anyone or anywhere . This is terrible! They dont care about your kid at all and they are super rude. If I could give them zero stars I would. Seriously never ever bring your kids here!I found out childrens memorial hospital is ten times better. Had better luck there . Save yallselfs some time and dont come here. My daughter had hearing test at Audiology Department, Wallace Tower. Dr. Jannifer A Drob approached professionally to my concerns. Test took about 20 minute. But fanancial/billing department ripped me off. Before making appointment I provided my insurance info. And clarified how much this test will cost. They knew beforehead what test I need, because pediatrician sent them referral. I was told that I will pay my copay only. The day when test was done, I came to front officer and told them to charge me for test. For what I was told, I don't owe them anything as it was examination. After 2 weeks I receive a bill for $511.00. I called billing department, and was told that they consider it like outpatient service. This was deductible of my insurance. I told them why they did give me wrong cost information before appointment was done. For what, they told dont know who gave info and appolized FOR MISUNDERSTANDING. But I still OWE THEM MORE THAN $500 FOR 20 MINUTES HEARING TEST. You know, this is just simple test, nothing specific!

Update: I want to thank Family Advocacy team members, Shannon Martin and everybody who was involved in my issue. The bill for my daughter's exam was waived and now we pay only co pay. I didn't believe that team could do anything with my bill. But they kept in touch with me at every stage of investigation/ process and helped me even morally.
These things mean a lot for me. Thank you very much!!!

The service is excellent. The visit was quick and easy! All doctors were friendly and helpful. This hospital accepts any child regardless of their origin. This hospital is also accessible to anyone.

Bad place for babys all they care about the bills and money as long as they get the insurance money they fine they keep telling you a lot of false and they oh your baby in danger your baby this and that but this not true they wanna keep you to get money form the insurance

Completely not satisfied with this hospital. The waiting room was so dirty and never cleaned up in the 8 hours I was in there. Came to try to find answers for my 10 year old who has been feeling bad for 2 months and since I didnt good answers from my pedi I thought we would go this route. Well...sent home and felt totally brushed off like they are not taking her symptoms serious enough or wanting to see what happens when she is having an episode. What a disappointment for a hospital that is supposed to be good. Maybe it's just the ER but still.

Dr. Laura Sierra of the Texas Children s Hospital is by far one of the best pediatric cancer research doctors ever she is truly kind and loving and has a real knack for cancer research. She also is an amazing person to work with and I am fortunate enough to say I aspire to be her or at least emulate my life after hers

Texas chidrends hospital is the best hopital ever my nees was in pain she had the appendicitis. They didn't. Give her. Noting to eat. The worst ting is that when they put her the iv she screamed alot on may 3 she had the segury. And thank you to timothy lee that he helped. My ness

The worst hospital more than 5 hours waiting in the emergency room and they did NOT attend my son, do not come here they will not attend you unless you come without breathing. HORRIBLE experience.

I don't spend time doing these things, but I think it worth for this place. Short answer: IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOUR KID TO AN ER DON'T GO TO TEXAS CHILDREN, IT'S A JOKE! A way better place is Women hospital of Texas (Pediatrics). Way way way better! Long Answer: I have been in Texas Children twice with my son. first time in the ER as he swallowed a coin and second time just to do X-rays and blood test. I have been in hospitals in different countries (even public hospitals in my home country) and Texas Children hospital is the worse experience ever. Waiting time is a joke. For the first time I arrived there about 8pm and left about 5am, but I understood as it was in the evening, they had to go look for doctors to do the endoscopy etc, etc. But second time, just blood tests and X ray, the place was empty with nobody before us and it took us 5 hours to leave the place, so I realize it's a real issue. In the ER, the service is very low level as well. There was no drinking water available. I asked water for somebody in there and 30 minutes later I had to ask again as they forgot to bring. The blood test, both times they hurt my kid trying to find his vein in different places, and I had to stop them and ask somebody with experience to do it with kids. During the first time, we were sitting there in the ER room with no information. Waiting, waiting and when I asked something nobody would know anything and they just told me that they would get back to me soon. So, Yesterday my son had another issue and his pediatric (that is not from there) asked me to bring him there to do exams and I decided to raise my concern and say I didn't want to go there, so she sent me to Houston hospital of Women and it's a completely different level! No wait time, blood work done with no pain for the kid and in just 1 attempt, from the valet guy to the nurses, to the doctors all first level service. So I guarantee I will never get back to Texas Children again with other options available.

Do not come to the ER here. My son dislocated his wrist and we took him to a local pediatric ER that said it was bad enough that they didn't want to do anything and recommended we take him to the ER. We did to tx children's and there were 56 kids in line for service. He was triaged and we are now going on 4 hours waiting for him to be seen with likely an additional 2 hrs. Take your kid to another hospital with a children's ward. This is the wrong place for timely attention

Not understanding how people so rude have a job working with the public and children only pleasant person was the triage nurse we waited 4 hours nevet seen tge doctor ask for an update they said another couple of hours while my daughter and I waited while she was in pain.

Texas Children's hospital has a good service, they get you in and out quickly. I liked that they had things so that the children things things so that time can pass while doctors and nurses prepare to see you. Employees are kind to customers. When I went there was a brief wait and I liked that. If there are people with disabilities the hospital has parking places closer to the doors and they have elevators for them to. The Texas Children's hospital serves anyone who doesn't care what their background is. I would like to return to this hospital because its employees are nice and it is quick to get in and out if you are in a hurry. There is a TV and some toys for your children to play if they get bored. I would like to rate Texas Children's hospital with 4.5 stars because they are amazing people.

Excellent care staff. ER (although wait times are terrible especially during flu season) triage was hustling. We were immediately triaged and given honest timing on wait times (for us they reminded us if we didn't just wait it out we would be right back because urgent care would not stich on a child's face) The wait was a negative experience, but the care my daughter received was really top notch. Once we got a room we didn't spend anytime waiting for treatment. The plastic surgeon who did my daughters stitches was top notch. I'm so pleased with this facility- please train your ER staff from the woodlands here. The hospital is great in the woodlands but the ER room and staff pales in comparison in my opinion to the medical center branch.

My grandson was diagnosed with Velo-Cardio-Facial Syndrome. He had an MRI in Austin 5 years ago but threw up the entire time. Unhappy with the treatment in Austin, she contacted the Texas Children's Hospital for a second opinion. It was a disaster - the Hospital scheduled an MRI, an EKG and an Echo. Once TCH learned my grandson was on Medicaid, the appointments began getting cancelled. The only test completed without controversy was the EKG. Once the THC learned he was on Medicaid, the Echo was cancelled because of the MRI. The MRI was cancelled in favor of the Echo. The Echo technician brought in a senior tech with more experience but that did not seem to make a difference.
We spoke to the head of the MRI department, two cardiologists and an anesthesiologist who ended up walking out of the consultation. We left the hospital with no answers; the Echo showed no problem with his swallowing. Unfortunately that was not the issue; the issue was a possible aneurysm of the aorta. No matter how many times we repeated this, we got the same response. For a second opinion, the doctor needed the MRI from 5 years before. My grandson's appointment was on 5/2. Today is 5/10 and no word from the cardiologist. Texas Children's Hospital may be good, but only if you have good insurance or money.

We love Dr Amy Xue in plastic surgery!! My daughter was in a car accident in 8/30 and it was a scary experience for her ( the whole family really ) every encounter with Dr Xue has always been pleasant, she s great at explaining things and letting us know what to expect in the future and willing to answer each and every question. We love her

First off..TCH is a trusted place for emergency care and maternity care. But behind the scenes, everything is politics. As previous employee, patient and mother, they are the better choice for care compared to other hospitals.

ER directions: from Holcombe go north on Fannin. Approximately 750 feet from Holcombe. There is a ground level sign that says Texas Children's ER. There is a parking garage right there but I'd personally just pay the $2 extra (approximate) to have valet parking it for me.

I was there 9/30. Got there at 11pm. Left at 4am 10/01. I spent most of the time in the waiting room spent 20 minutes in the room. The nurse was really nice, but the doctor and the nurses up at the desk that register you were horrible. The doctor went and and told me she has a virus didn t even touch her or check her. Left. Came back looked at her throat listened to her heart and that s it. Gave her Motrin and sent her home. So I still have a toddler with diahrria, and fever that went somewhat down buts back up. So what s the point in paying if you sent her home the same way I took her in fever it s the 4th day now!

Really good staff.. the doctors and nurses are dedicated to their jobs they always were with good attitudes and so professional ready to solve the problem, with no doubt they are the best thank you for saving my little brother

Valet parking crew is the rudest, meanest, nastiest people. So snippy and hateful.

My wife is here now. I am so impressed with the Nurses and the Doctors. They are awesome and care about there patients. Other than the food that is ordered which has been an ongoing issue, this is a wonderful place. When I go home I can sleep and rest knowning they are taking care of my wife and my unborn baby girl.

Tough to find parking as with any place in the med center. The valet is $13, which is too high for a hospital. Dr Shah was very helpful and kind.

Oh my word!! These people are wonderfully professional, the building is unbelievably beautiful, the whole nightmare of OHS for our 4 year old child that we had dreaded so much COULDN T have gone any better! Our very special thanks to Dr Binsalamah-God used you to perform a miracle of healing for our little Asher.

My baby had to be admitted 3 times in the Texas Childrens Hospital all for somewhat different reasons. He was taken care of many,many nurses most seem helpful,show compassion and answered all of our questions as much as they could. Dr. Guillory , Dr. Carol Redel, Dr. Jed Nuchtern, and specially Dr. Demmler are the best! And the best nurse of them all Sheeba!

As a visitor, I was impressed by what Texas Children's Hospital had to offer. We visited a friend & his family. The hospital provided an underground parking for convenience. The facility was clean, welcoming, and well-designed. The nursing staff was friendly and helpful. Our friend's hospital room was comfortable, and based on their story, they have been receiving the best care. We're glad to hear that, and we're thankful for how they've been served well by the healthcare teams at Texas Children's Hospital. A tip for visitors: Do check the hospital's website for advice & instructions before you visit.
