This incredible experience has been one of the highlights of our Japan trip. Spend time exploring all the hidden rooms.

We got there few minutes before the opening time and we were in front of the queue. When we got out an hour later, there were people all around the buildings (probably over 1h waiting time).

We purchased tickets with an entrance from 6pm, so we had 3h to visit the exhibition. Firstly, we had more than 30min of line to get inside. Two rooms had 40min of line each, so we had a bit more than 1h to visit the rest. We had to rush during the whole exhibition, and we didn't have time to enjoy each place. I contacted the costumer service, if we can call that a costumer service, and they really don't care about the complains. They just want to make money as much as possible.

Otherwise, the exhibition is nice, but a bit sassy and kitch If you look in the details. A lot of people everywhere, we felt like in a bad DisneyWorld park, and not in an art exhibition...

I give one star because the answers from the ''costumer service'' make me think that they just try to make money, and they don't care if the costumer can feel scammed.

Loved our time here! Buy tickets in advance. Some rooms will have long waits (an hour or more) but the rest is amazing and there is plenty to do. The Athletic Forest upstairs is great for kids and adults alike.

Wear sensible shoes (low or no heels) and clothing (no skirts or long skirts) as the floor is sometimes sloped and there are mirrors on some floors. Wraps are available for those who forget but why slow down your experience? Shoes are available only in the Athletic Forest to borrow.

This place is amazing, the visual art and interactive lighting makes it unique to any place I have been to. I would recommend this place to anyone with a spare couple of hours and wanting an out of the world experience.

Very awesome and renewing. They used different types of light, sounds, lasers and mirrors to create amazing pieces of art. The only backdraw would be the high entry fee, but it is worth it knowing you can be entertained for hours walking through this museum.

It is a really good experience to share with people. It give the feeling to be in another dimension. Two extra exhibition were also accessible with allmost a two hours queue ! So I recommend to come in the morning or late afternoon

Fantastic amazing light exhibitions. First time see this kinda art in my life. I was very impressed that the technology is growing so fast.
I recommend you to buy the online ticket ahead of time because ticket can be sold out on popular days. Also go either early or late to avoid the crowd and queue. That way you can take some cool pictures as well.

Expensive and overrated. Was hesitant and regretted spending the money. There's no path which is supposed to add to the aesthetic , but it's dark and crowded and just makes it difficult. There are people everywhere taking photos which takes away from any enjoyment the rooms offer. The more popular exhibits had 30 to 40 minute lines. I wish I had done something else instead.

Nice idea to show to the people what's possible with light effects and technology that we have at the moment. I wish for Team Lab to grow even more for the future and inspire even more people out there.

Just wow!!!!! Was slightly out of the way to get to and the change over train from Osaki station was way over priced. It can be busy during peak season and on weekends but everything the have produced was beautiful and even having to line up for certain sections was completely worth it.

Worth the long queues (i think reservation is a must).
The interesting layout drives for exploration of new secret marvels hidden among the main rooms.
The installations are deeply evocative and cleverly thought to inspire a constant sense of wonder.

A must see when you visit Tokyo. There are several rooms inside the exhibition. It could get a bit confusing to find some of them bit make sure you see both rooms on the second floor. The whole experience is just beyond this world.

Getting there: Metro! It is very convenient to use the metro lines to get there. The station is about a 5 minute walk to the exhibition.
Tickets: Get your tickets online. The staff at the door may tell you its sold out but it is NOT! This actually happened to us but we where able to purchase tickets online and get in.

Timing: the exhibition can get very busy so plan to be there right around the opening time. This way you will avoid the line ups for some of the inside rooms too. Allow for at least 2.5 hours for this visit.

Facilities: There are lockers available for you to store your bags. You want to be as light as possible when inside the exhibition so take advantage of this if you are carrying heavy bags. There are also resting rooms that have vending machines. It is a great space to relax a bot as the lights in the galleries can be overwhelming.

I was skeptical, but this place was worth the price of admission and short wait. It was very big and there was a lot to see amd do. It's hard to do everything in one trip, we were there for maybe 2 hours and didn't do nearly everything. Also this would be a good place for children.

This was an incredible experience. We spent many hours inside and loved all of the attractions. It's so easy to get lost inside but you find yourself excited at every corner, or hidden room. It's a pity that there has to be lines for different parts but that is necessary. We had a fantastic time and won't hesitate to recommend this to others.

It is somewhat pricey though, worth considering if you're taking a family or looking for cheaper attractions.

Have a look at some of the pictures, these are just glimpses of the incredible experience you get. The interactivity is quite amazing.

This place is amazing! You can spend the entire day here, there's so much to see and experience! It is a very popular place so be prepared for it to be busy. They had a slightly reduced price if you book to go after 6pm (I think) but check their website for specifics. I enjoyed walking around and seeing how the walls and floor come to life and evolve around you. They have interactive elements that are fun for all ages. I would recommend wearing light /white clothing as you can become part of the digital art, dark clothing is fine but you won't blend in with the displays. Wear flat shoes otherwise you may be sent the shoe rental area to borrow some free! The staff are really friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend a visit if you've got the time, I spend a few hours here so do factor in that you may not want to leave so quickly!

If you already been to mt fuji and tokyo tower then this will be the next place you should visit. Sensory overload and extravagant display art of lights. There is no maps you will have to navigate through the areas and find hidden rooms. The ground floor is more for adults, 1st floor is more for kids, but i enjoyed both. Picture will not do justice to this place you need to experience it yourself. And no picture will be the same.

Not worth it. Way too crowded. You line up for so long then enter and line up even more. The attractions we're fine but not mind blowing. The screen resolutions are quite low and the animations have lag which I noticed and it really took my out of it. Teamlab planets was better imo. If you love crowds and waiting in lines this might be for you, of not, hard pass.

If you're easily amused by pretty lights like a moth is to a lamp, then go to this place. Otherwise, it's kind of a waste of time. I am not surprised this "museum" attracts as many ditzy artsy western tourists as it does. Under all the pretty lights, its just some rooms with black carpets and walls with a projector playing a light show reminiscent of that old iTunes light show.

Also, people are pretty much here just for a photo-op which means that this place is pretty congested with tourists that you'd see scattered around Tokyo, only teamLab Borderless has managed to get them all in one building complex. Tbh, I have never seen as many adults act like wide-eyed children as I have walking around these rooms.

I'm only rating this 2 stars because while the whole thing is a colourful hedonistic waste of time, the service from the staff is pretty good. That's typical Japan though, so it's nothing new.

All in all, come here if you're the type of person comfortable with 'escaping reality' or have children.

A mind blowing experience. A photographers delight. Especially enjoyed laying down in the bird'snest net viewing a surround video from above, and below, while being suspended in the air, in the dark. Surreal!

Soo cool but I think we liked team lab planets more. Borderlesss is like a never ending series of amazing rooms that you take as your own pace but planets seemed like a more refined idea.

In my opinion, it was a good exhibit. However, the main issues, which crop up time and time again in Tokyo, are the crowds.

I can't imagine any day when this place isn't busy, and everyone is trying to take a picture with nobody else in the frame. Unfortunately, this is never going to be possible as the place is heaving by 11 am.

We arrived early and entered as the first people there, but within 45 minutes the masses had arrived. Granted, we are part of the mass (that is not lost on us), but some people seem to take up more space than others (one woman and her daughter seemed to be taking pictures for a Playboy shoot in the fountain room).

In the lantern room you are limited to approximately 2 minutes and then ushered out, which gives you a little more time to enjoy the art with fewer people and the opportunity to take a picture of perhaps yourself and your loved one without anyone else in the frame.

Outside of that room, it's difficult to find any space for yourself to view the art as per the videos on the TeamLab website.

Still, it is really worth a visit.

There are drink and toilet areas provided in the space and they are clean and well stocked, so don't feel like you've got to hold it until you find the exit that you can't find :)

Have fun!

I think this is quite over-priced. Plus for solo traveller just so you know they dun allow u to just put a small phone stand on the floor to take pictures and the staff is kind of rude as well

This was a new experience for us. It's just as their mission states. I was in awe of the creative minds that made this exhibit into reality.
We really enjoyed coloring our own animals (tip: you dont have to stay in the lines.)
The climbing was so much fun and enough of a challenge to make it really fun. We tried to go on the kids course with just 2 colors. But they insisted we do 3 colors.
Tip: If you want to go to the flying nest get there early and head to this exhibit first. There is an hour wait otherwise. Go back to the rest of the exhibits afterwards. Also, remove or secure coins because you can hear them drop.
Make time for this we spent 3 hours and could have done 1-2 more.

We went at the evening shift (after 6pm), and it was pretty busy. The staff do a good job of controlling the lines (both inside and outside) to make sure the place isn't bombarded with people. There are many interactive rooms, but it was a bit unclear about how to interact with it. The layout of the building and rooms is also unclear, and you end up circling and backtracking a lot. My 3 year old really liked a lot of the exhibits, amd staff were present to assist and answer questions as needed. Our first teamLab experience was "Planets" and i think I prefered it over Borderless, as it was a bit more organized in the experience. We didn't get to check out all the rooms, due to the child getting tired. We took breaks in the "rest area" where they have bathrooms and drink vending machines. All the adults actually mentioned how "tired" they realized they were after entering the rest area. It could have been the visual overstimulation, the heat of the day, it being the end of the day, or a combination of all 3 things. Tips: wear sneakers/shoes, and not sandals nor heels, as certain areas will require you to rent/change shoes. Utilize the rest areas as needed; it can really be overstimulating. Turn off the flash on your cameras.

Definitely worth going earlier in the day to avoid as much of the rush as possible, or time it over lunch as that's when it seems to empty out a little. Not overly priced especially as there's no time limit on how long you get in there. Some of the light shows are genuinely breathtaking and very much worth your time to see.

Great experience. Ensure to buy you your tickets in advance because they re usual sold out when you try to buy a ticket on the day itself. Plan with 2-3 hours to see everything. Despite having a ticket you ll need to queue most likely, but queue moves very fast.

The museum is amazing and the interaction with the walls and the floor is unbelievable. The bad thing is that it will always be croweed, even if you a ticket online, you will have to wait on the line. They must control the number of people inside per hour

This isn't your everyday, "look-but-don't-touch" museum. The creators encourage you to touch and explore and get lost among the many rooms. The major rooms interact with the people inside. Sometimes it takes the form of flowers blooming around you when you stand still. Sometimes you reach up to pat a giant frog's belly as it passes and it croaks loudly at you as it continues you on its way. Sometimes you find a room hidden off to the side where you select characters that change the lighting around the people in the room next to you. The exhibits all wrap into each other and the themes all are incorporated throughout. Be prepared to wait in lines! I went on a Monday around 11:30 and waited thirty minutes to get in then 20 - 30 minutes to view the more popular attractions. It's expansive and utterly breath-taking. I'm mad that my phone died in the middle of my visit, so I don't have half of the things that are available.

Such awesome experience seeing this ultra cool digital art museum! We spent about 2 hours there.

They advice you not to wear high heels. Prepare to wait in lines to see some of the exhibition.
Don't miss this if visiting Tokyo! It is so much fun - big and little kids love it!
Highly recommended!!

Well worth 3 hours in order to see all the rooms. The reason I am not giving this 5 stars is that there a couple of places where you need to queue to enter a room and you are left in a grey corridor. If they really wanted to make the whole experience "borderless" then they could make this waiting time interactive or entertaining. I was particularly impressed wit the Athletic Forest space on the 1st floor ( ) where children can colour in drawings of animals like butterflies and gecko, and then the technology is used to see their their own drawings come alive on the floor and walls.

Very interesting concept, however its success has affected the user experience: it may be up to 90min queue for some rooms.
I highly recommend the room with digital flying phoenixes, the illusion is perfect and truly provides sensations.

The ticket system with the only option to pre-buy for a specific date is a good idea, but as we went there we saw that the line was 90 min long! In the rain with cold temperatures ...
The problem was then made worse, because they were still selling tickets, which was quite audacious with that length of the line and that weather ... We could not get a refund but that line in the pouring rain was definitely not worth it for us!

Wow! This is a MUST place to go if you are visiting Tokyo. It was very crowded but still you can enjoyed. The longest line I made was to enter to the room name The Nest that was not so good, is only a projection in the walls while you stand over a huge nest. I couldn t find the Tea room and I forgot to ask where was that one.

Fun place with family and friends!
I recommend anyone who visiting attends the tea shop in the exhibition. I enjoyed the light show on my tea.
Kids would definitely love the exhibition too!
You will need at least 4-5 hours for the entire experience.

It was a truly breathtaking experience. In all seriousness, the crystal lights room made me experience my first ever sober trip. This is a must do. Get there early and buy tickets ahead of time because the lines get long quickly.

Be ready to wait a lot! I went there at 6 pm thinking there would be less people but it was still very crowded. There was a 50 minutes waiting line to enter the room of "Forest of resonating lamps".

We arrived at 5pm on a weekday which was not enough! There s just so much to do here so please give yourself around 4 hours! Every room was magical and most had some aspect of interaction to it which made it extra special. If going to Japan, I would highly advise you add this to your itinerary!

Spent the morning at Team Lab to experience the creativity on the use of lights. A good place for kids to expend their energy but be aware it is dark and we got lost almost everytime. Secret door hidden behind every wall. Before you go, do come in white outfit and deposit your bags into the locker.

It was pretty, but not transcendent. we went on a Wednesday midday, and it wasn't too packed, but certainly was busy. there is no time limit, which means the queue seemed to build up over the day. there was a surprising amount of kids there. the music was quite loud and i found the visuals busy, almost overwhelmingly so. it was easy to find by following the teamLab Mori Digital signposts, you go through the Pallette Town shopping centre and it is right under the big ferris wheel.

the exhibit is roughly split in two. upstairs there is a more physical bit upstairs called the athletic forest, there were more kids there and things to interact with, which i won't spoil but they ask for sensible footwear and to lock up your bags before you enter.

downstairs there are a variety of light shows and art screens. there's no map so it is easy to feel you are missing rooms. i'd recommend trying to complete this before getting distracted by the athletic forest.

when we went there were a lot of people obviously taking photos, which is encouraged (without flash or selfie sticks though). i didn't mind this but the busier smaller rooms it was frustrating as people were slowing down a lot to take photos, which causes queues.

the famous lantern room looked great, after we got through the queue at the foot of the stairs (5 mins) and got to the second queue (looked like 30 mins)...we decided to give it a miss. a couple other exhibits had queues. the best room for me was a mushroom kind of room, the entrance was more hidden so you could actually enjoy the effects more as it was quieter.

i feel this exhibit would work better if there was limited or time limited entry, too many people spoil the flow and immersion. it was also very warm with many people. however, boyfriend loved it despite this, so perhaps i am odd one out.

art wise, it has a clear theme, but it was obscured for me by the crowds or my own over-stimulation. theres a lot more info about the art process but it was hard to make time to read it when there is so much to see. the theme if anything was heavy handed, but it wasnt over explained before you go, and it was cohesive.

there is an app for one of the rooms but it is not clear when or how to use it so pay attention.

it is meant to be nice but hopefully this is some more realistic information about the exhibit to help you make your decision!

The entire experience was definitely worth the price of admission, though the rooms were very crowded. There were multiple areas that we did not see as the lines were estimated at over an hour wait. That wasn't a huge deal as the entire experience still lasted us about 2 hours and was very interesting. I would definitely recommend comfortable shoes as you'll be walking around the entire time - there are various searing areas away from the excitement if needed.

Best part of Tokyo! This exhibit is one of the coolest things I ve ever done. The amount of technology and brain power to bring this art to life is mesmerizing. There are no maps as it s an explore at your pace deal. We made sure to walk every corridor to ensure we didn t miss anything. Each room has something new to offer. This exhibit is perfect for all ages. Don t hesitate, go see this!!!!!!

This is a must if you are around Tokyo. You can easily stay here for 4 hours or so. There is also a nice area for kids to play. It does get pretty crowded and tickets will sell out. I highly recommend getting the tickets a week in advance and get there when they open.

Not worth the money and time in my opinion.

Not worth the money and time in my opinion.

I spent 60% of the time standing in queues, firstly in the long queue outside to enter the place and then in the queues inside to enter the exhibitions.

During the remaining 40% of the time I tried to enjoy the projections, but this was a difficult task given the amount of people who were there taking selfies and blocking the way.

Even though you're constantly navigating the selfie-taking crowd, this place is truly incredible. Make sure to give yourself time to catch all the rooms. Evening pass was worth the extra yen we saved. Don't look up what is in store, the best part was being suprised...
