A comprehensive mix of interactive contemporary art. I greatly recommend this museum to anyone visiting the Odaiba area.

Interesting place-I imagine it s always crowded no matter what time you go. No map provided so expect lots of confusion and LINES. Oh the lines! But fear not-lots of distractions to keep you preoccupied and it wasn t too bad. I skipped one of the rooms (floating nest) that had an hour wait. Lantern room was beautiful but annoying that some slots don t get the blue/ green effect.
Well worth the entry fee for this overworldly experience! Waited in the queue for 50 minutes on a Monday morning. Spent a solid 3 hours there. It's nicely non-linear, but that also means that it can be easy to miss a room as I did. The music in each room is perfectly fitting. A great reason to visit Palette Town!
It s definitely one of the must-visits in Tokyo. There s no direction, so you can get lost for hours and not get bored. I felt some overwhelming emotions watching a few presentations there, because it was so beautiful. Some parts are super calming, some are exciting, and some are simply just beautiful.
I definitely recommend people to buy tickets a few days before online. You still have to line up for a while but it s so much better than lining up for the tickets first.
Such a wonderful experience that pictures do not do it justice. Worth the drop if you're in Tokyo, just make sure you pre-purchase your tickets a few days in advance.
A loss for words at the incredible creations. Every room is different and the artworks move around the museum so no room is ever the same of you choose to re-enter. Absolutely amazing!
Phenomenal interactive art that explores the sublime through mind bending imagery and sound. Worth multiple visits!
Pretty epic - you can spend ~3 hours wandering around in here playing around with all the exhibits. I would recommend to come on the later side - if you give yourself 2-3 hours before they close you'll avoid most of the kids running around. Wear PANTS - a few of the exhibits have mirrored floors - they offer these wrap things for modesty but why worry? My favorite room was the one with all the hanging strings of LED lights and the mirrored floor.. don't miss it! You can go out to eat on Daiba afterward - this is a great date/day trip location.
Beautiful digital art exhibit - kids loved it! Free drawing activities where your drawings are scanned and brought to life by projections on walls and floors. Themed art is always moving or changing. Would definitely recommend this if you haven t experienced it.
Lovely place to visit for 1st timers, it have many activities and good for children too. Overall was great
100% recommend if you're in Tokyo. Book in advance because tickets sell out quickly and then you'll have to wait on the day to see if you can enter. Leave time for at least a three hour trip. There is so much to see at this exhibition, that you could probably do 4-5 hours. There are so many spots to take wonderful photos. It feels like you're in a magical adventureland the whole time. As you wander through the various breathtaking rooms, your eyes will dart to fascinating animations. Absolute must see! But don't use flash on your camera if you'd like to see the photos. Also, be sure not to search TeamLabs on Google maps, because it may send you to the head office on the other side of town. Apparently there are a few new TeamLab exhibitions opening up around the world - one in Paris and maybe New York. So you're not confined to heading to Tokyo..
Huge museum that has a great upstairs play area for kids. It is a bit confusing where to go but keep exploring, it is all changing and interacting. Definately impressed, and although there is a queue to get in it is not too crowded inside as it is really big. All in all good value and a good way to spend half a day.
Unique experience that is worth the trip. Plan for spending a few hours.
One of the most mindblowing exhibitions I ve ever seen in my life. It s insane.
Everyone visiting Tokyo has to take some time and visit it.
100% recommended.
If I could I'll rate 10 ... A very unique experience. You can take your kids and preferably go there very early or like 2 hrs before they close then won't be there busy
Words cannot describe how amazing the experience was. Being able to interact with everything, even coloring in an animal and watching it roam around... awe struck.
Every single thing in this place is wierd. Nowhere else would you have seen it before. Take 3-4 hours to enjoy fully. Only projections are used to form the images. It may become a bit monotonous after 1 or 2 hours, but a definite one time go.
I don t think pictures can do this place justice. If you re travelling to Tokyo, you should definitely spend half a day here! Everything is so surreal and magical, I was honestly in awe. Would recommend buying tickets online first to avoid disappointment!
Definitely plan to have about 3-4 hours here and look thoroughly for hidden rooms. THE FLOATING NEST ROOM IS AWFUL DO NOT WAIT MORE THAN 30 MIN... unless you really like sitting on a net with a net wedgie and staring up at dark, boring projections
Cool vibes, there are lots of people though so it s not an intimate experience
Really amazing and fun exhibits. Be sure to wander around... there might be some hidden areas that you miss! The En Tea House was especially fun but you will need to pay an extra 500yen. We went early in the morning right before it opened to avoid the crowds.
Awesome exhibits. The scale of these exhibits really make them immersive. You can easily spend a few hours there and not realize it.
Make sure to go early to beat the lines.
a digital meuseum with breathtaking visuals mostly using projectors and some using lamps and mirrors . filled with nature effects and sounds. a must see if you are visiting Tokyo.
Oh what can I say about this place that hasn t already been said?
If you are contemplating going, don t. Just book right now. It was such a magical and unique experience and I would recommend it to everyone. The only issue I had was the long long lines to get to some exhibitions. Very friendly customer service.
Amazing experience, spent hours here admiring the digital art exhibits.
An experience for the senses unlike any you've seen. Loved everything, especially the light rooms which were out of this world.
Surreal experience. Must go if you are in Japan. Just be careful of the busy lines.
Great for what it is. However was super crowded even on a Tuesday morning. Forget taking any decent photos with mobile phone. Need a proper camera with high iso.
We arrived about 1PM on a Saturday and waited for around an hour to get in. It was crowded, but the space was large so it didn't feel cramped. Most lines moved very quickly. The only notable waits were the lantern room (~40 min) and the tree climbing one (~15 min). I do wish they had a list of rooms so we could make sure not to miss any, as we were close to doing so.
Not all the rooms are equal to each other. The lantern room and the mirrored light ones were my favourites, the former you get a set amount of time.
Borderless is really a place to take photos. Some exhibits did feel like digital art displays, but overall you will feel disappointed if you don't take photos like everyone else. I'm not sure how some people spend six hours in it. We spent around 2.5 hours inside and felt like that was plenty of time to see everything.
This digital museum is a walking sensual adventure where the senses exploration is key and if you dont take your time, you'll most likely miss a room or an attraction to experience. Its pricey but this museum provides something that's unique only unto itself.
Awesome experience. Count at least 3-4 hours, add an extra 2 with kids. Rush to the forest of lamps on opening to avoid the queue
Very glad we picked an appropriate time to go, as when we left the line was huge.
one of the most immersive and exciting museums, can't miss this is you're in Tokyo. Recommend arriving right when the museum opens!
Very artistic and fun experience, great interaction with the light installations
Booking in advance is recommended
It s an ok experience, but not fantastic or overwhelming. Nice to pass some time and to take a couple of photographs, but definitely not worth the 3600yen. Too crowded during peak times. Probably good fun with kids.
Who am I? I m male, around 30 years old, and German.
It s all fun and beautiful but I think it s mostly for kids (and instagramers)... There were many people when I get there and queuing inside is bit annoying when you pay 3k jpy to get in...
Its really nice. To many people, you have que up for many attractions.
Like a travel in your dreams. It's a place that definitely worths a visit!
Spent 4 hours here, most of the times trying to get the perfect picture. Was a very enjoyable experience wondering through the exhibit. There is no map and people are 'encourage' to get lost here. Paid extra 500 yen for the En Tea House and in my opinion, since we're already here might as well go for it.
Super interesting will spend at least 3 hours but it is super!!!
Utterly jaw dropping. So clever and beautiful. A must see.
Definitely not overhyped! I was worried it would be a little boring or a couples selfie spot, but this experience didn t disappoint. Each room was so cool and made for an easy two hours. I recommend showing up a little before the exhibit opens as the line and wait can be a little daunting. Buy tickets online ahead of time.
Very, very cool. Light show driven art exhibit by the bay. A lot of really fun, random rooms. Probably need 3 hours to see it all
Its ok and interesting expereince. What they dont tell you is before you buy. There can be a 2 hour wait for the main exhibits. Lots of other ones you can ecplore straight away, if you can find them
Amazing place. Kids area upstairs is really good. Only problem was the queuing, and we went midweek! Best to go as soon as it opens.
This is a must see! It's worth every penny, and it is for everyone! It was the coolest museum I've ever experienced. Try it out!
So awe inspiring and absolutely amazing! I can't recommend this enough, what a cool place to spend an afternoon. This was one of the highlightsof Tokyo for me. Definitely go early if you can when they open, you won't be disappointed!
Came a little bit later but bummed that I did! Easily can spend 3+ hours here. For reference, I spent 2 and got every single room minus one. I didn't spend a whole lot of time taking photos though if any time. Lots of interactive rooms, and my favorite area was the athletic forest!
Very Best place to visit and recommend to visit here. There are many interesting room to see and enjoy drawing with family. Had a good activity for kids.
AMAZING! An incredible experience. If you are in Tokyo you must visit it. Recommended for everyone.
Stunning, can spend hours here, be prepared to wait in line for some rooms
Amazing place to go on a date . Everyone is super friendly and nice
Interesting how the simple concept of projection mapping can be taken to this level! The artworks and the ambience are a treat and keep you engaged. Some artworks are interactive too. A fun 4-5 hours!!
A futuristic museum to visit. It s very fun and very recommended
Come early, its very crowded. Spare times at least 4 Hours to fully enjoy everything, you will face lots of queue to enjoy the famous space.
My favorite place personally the Black Waves, it's calming place and could be use as rest place . Please use pants (if you don't want to expose your undergarment) bcs there is some installation with mirror on the floor, they provide skirt safety belt, for skirt user but I only see it's provided in the Forest of lamp..
This place was crazy neat. Definitely a great date spot. They change the exhibits every few months so talking about them is pointless, it's like an art museum where you're actually inside the art experiencing it.
Cool and interactive experience! Lots of creative digital art, very imaginative. There were quite a lot of people when we went so the lines for some of the art inside was long. I'd recommend going here early in the morning.
Beautiful experience. Definitely recommended. Well worth spending the time.
A nice place, highly recommend prepare more time as you can. I spent 2.5hours there. But i missed to visit two parts in the teamlab. Must go!
An awesome experience. The second you enter the facility you re filled with feelings of fantasy, colours and light. It s busy but there are ways to avoid the crowds. There are lines, sure, but this is Japan, so everything is incredibly organized.
Make sure you do the extra tea house thing! What a plus!! We loved it.
Definitely worth the money and journey.
Amazing expo, interactive, intelligent and interesting science. Fun for every age. Loved it
This museum alone might be worth a trip to Tokyo. While the line was long, it moved at a steady pace and I realize they let people enter in groups of 30 or so. I'm not going to ruin anything for you, but it is the most immersive art experience I've ever done.
Absolutely Magic, totally worth the price.
As i went there when the access was restricted for a company (which for I had an access) , i had a wonderful experience with nobody to stand between me and my friend who took pictures.
Highly immersive experience for all ages.
It was a unique and interesting experience. The tickets get sold out pretty fast, so make sure you get them a bit early. It's quite dark so make sure you don't get separated from your group/family. The lines (for "special" rooms) can get really long.
Pretty cool, quite a unique experience, it's like a free-play playground for adults!
A must-see when in Tokyo! Such an amazing experience. You have to check out the cafe inside! Extraordinary.
OMG, just go. A definite Tokyo highlight. Don't research it too much, enjoy a surprise. Photos don't do it justice!
Just see the lines waiting and turn around. Don t purchase tickets online, if you want come without Tonns of people inside come before opening and buy ticket at the counter. Inside there are several exhibitions, which are okay, but not worthy 30 Eur and hours wasted in lines
Just awesome! Come early for a short queue. Go explore. Second floor perhaps mostly for kids, was still enjoyed though.
One of the coolest exhibits I've ever seen. The digital displays not only move, they react to people's movements as well, and they also change so you can come back to the same room again and it will be completely different. Really awesome. Highly recommended.
It s a great place to visit, really loved it!
Takes a long time to experience all the projections and the experience rooms, it s really dark and kind of confusing to find the signs and specifications of where each thing is, also it gets crowded.
Experiences like the floating lights, ballons, bouncy and climbing are on the second floor and you have to wait a while on a line to get inside and see them. Don t get disappointed the pictures are worth it.
For people with sight problems could get hard ( mom got dizzy and blurry vision).
If you like to take a lot of pictures better go with some one, great to spend with friends or family.
Amazing, unique experience! Too full of people, but really worth it!
I live in Japan but after seeing all the cool pictures, decided to go. We reserved our tickets online but still had to line up for about 40 minutes to enter. The displays were beautiful. Really cool experience. Prepare to wait in line to enter the Forest of Lamps and Athlete s Forest. We spent about 2 hours exploring. There s a time limit in the Forest of Lamps. Take your pics quickly!
Amazing place you can wander and wonder for hours. Hint: You can interact with the exhibits with the app.
If you want to have a unique experience, you must not miss this opportunity. Suitable for all ages, kids will really enjoy it, as well as adults. Thumps up
Very busy and not serene - it s a tourist trap. You can walk around in any direction you please which causes a lot of disarray and people bumping into each other - feels like a kids or playground. The music is playing loud enough to cover the number of people that are in the space. The projections are not crisp and look pixelated. They also ask that you change your shoes if over a certain height (I was wearing 2 inch platforms). This is something that should be on the ticket or in an email in advance. In addition to that, several of the exhibits require you to wait in line some for more than 20 minutes (is this Disneyland?). They are letting too many people in the space for it to be enjoyable. Unless you love crowds and waiting, don t go here. It honestly feels like a rip off of Yayoi Kusama s infinity rooms.
A technical and asthetic marvel marred by way too many people for the concept.
They have a theme of "wander, explore, and discover" which was hard to fulfill because there were too many people.
Wandering is hard when are being told to keep moving by the staff so as not to hold others up.
Exploring is tricky when you have to go a different way because if crowds.
Discovering is hard when you find a new room by "discovering" an 80minute queue.
If you do go, arrive when it opens and go straight to the most popular rooms while the queues are short.
Overpriced and extremely crowded. Not only is there a long queue to get inside the building, there is also an equally long line for the most famous rooms in the museum. The museum is also very disorienting and it is tiresome that the museum is constantly very dark. The athletic rooms was mostly intended for kids. We went there mid-day on a Saturday, not recommended.
Contemporary art meets cutting-edge technology. Highly recommended.
Stunning museum. Would spend at least 2 hours here to check out the different rooms. Remember to touch everything and enjoy a cup of tea in the tea lounge (extra cost). Wear white to pop out in your photos.
This is definitely a very interesting place to go, awakens the child in you. Went on a sun, arrived 30mins b4 opening, was 1 of the 1st few groups to be let in. 9.50am I was inside. It's definitely a very visual place, the music sets the mood. I didn't had to q much for anything so it's definitely recommended to be there b4 11am. Paid 500yen to drink a bowl of tea that reflects the light. Pretty tea but if u r on a budget, u can give it a pass. Give everything a try, even the kiddy stuff. Every room is interactive, every1 was orderly even tho there were dark corners everywhere, mirror walls (Saw 1 guy walked into it) and children around. I didn't even bump or get bumped. After 12 u can see the crowd coming in and by 1 plus, the various q for the popular rooms was loooong. Video taking is definitely better than photo taking. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
Never seen anything like it. Really cool and varied exhibits. Make sure you get there before it opens otherwise you'll queue for hours.
Had a truly wonderful time last year but wasn't able to spend as much time as I wanted to. The whole experience was so amazing!
More and more people are becoming aware of this exhibit, and because it's one of the permanent ones, there will probably be lots of people at any time of the day. Purchase your tickets online on the website and staff will scan the QR code for you to enter.
There's an area where you can draw a picture and staff will scan it so you'll be able to see your piece of art drifting across the floor (although if someone stomps on it then it'll be gone, haha)
Would definitely go back again!
Was very enjoyable light shows! Would recommend to anyone going to Odaiba
I do stage lighting for concerts and so forth on the side and went into teamLab Borderless with low expectations (I thought I'd seen enough amazing light shows to be underwhelmed). I was mistaken. I was absolutely blown away by teamLab. This is a must see place if you visit Tokyo!
Did you know that when you tap on translate the address sounds like a rap song
Mostly overcrowded. We went there Wednesday around 2 pm and I assume the crowds were not as bad as closer to the evening (not as bad as some reviews here which I 100% believe so I think we were lucky). We waited outside for 20-30 min and this still seemed pretty standard (more like waiting for your timeslot thought there was none). When we went in it was super crowded but still OK (for Japanese standards). The projections were if a rather poor quality (but if you into selfies they come up well on pictures). You should walk where you want, no order. It sounds good but it creates a chaos. There are several rooms (to be found) with different docor. Two were ok but for other the wait time was over an hour, we skipped... Overall not worth it, too many people, too much waiting. On a side note we also went to Disney sea which was much much better for what we paid even with longish wait. (I mean same wait time of around 1h)
great adventuring experience. We were lucky it wasn t too busy when we arrived (945am). Majority of the staff were incredibly rude.
