None of my funds have been available to me from paying customers. As a new small business, the money I earn and process through Stripe should be available to me w/in a few days max. Nope. After numerous phone calls, emails that have included my web provider I am still being told that my website can t be validated. I ve provided my web address which is HIPAA compliant and because your tech support is in Singapore, they aren t able to access my site. Why is this my problem and why can t someone from Stripe US look at my website to validate it for them? If you really wanted to know if I am legitimate, shouldn t you be asking for legitimate documents such as a business license? Anyone can create a website. Square asks for no such information and does not delay payment for this ridiculous ask and what seems to be a simple solution. It is absurd that after this much back and forth that I still have no money and no resolution. I have already moved to another platform and will cut my losses with Stripe.

I need help from someone in the US that works for stripe. Here we are on Oct 12th, my account has been on hold since the 1st of Oct. I was put on a pause to supposedly verify my website and email. Then, on Oct 9th all of a sudden they need me to email an invoice for one of my customers. It's a never ending string of verification while they hold my money and are not letting me process cards. Seems like a scam to me. Thanks.

Stripe processed a payment for a fraudulent merchant and provided my bank with information about the merchant that clearly shows the merchant is not real. I can t get my money back now because apparently Stripe allows fraudulent merchants to purchase their services so they can scam innocent people. Not surprised they don t have a phone number to call. Wouldn t be surprised if this is the main purpose of their company.

HORRIBLE!!!! DO NOT USE STRIPE!!!! After noticing I was not receiving payments into my bank account for any of the purchases for the this month (August), I went a little deeper and found that I have not received any payments since November 2017. I made contact with Stripe and was told someone would make contact with me within 24 hours. Over 72 hours have past, still no contact. Stripe, YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS!!! The only reason you received 1 star is because that was the only way to post.

That response, tells me that the person that spoke with me was not listening. I told them that email address was not my email address. That email was provided to them by a third party. I provided the corrected email address 2 days ago and still no one has contacted me. I even provided a phone number, still no one has contacted me to resolve my issue. How hard is it to send the email to the correct email address?

Terrible....I have no tangible responses from Stripe. I am receiving same responses as if a robot is responding to me with different names and that's the thing that's worrying me the most.

My Stripe account has been blocked for presenting a higher level of risk than Stripe can currently support with no room for discussion to prove that my work is legit. I have send bank statements, passport and more official documents that no party is involved in any fraudulent activity.

I was clear they don't have enough support and let everything in hand of a robotic responses. I have been force to set up PayPal solution and need to wait 21 days to see my money THESE TOTALLY SUCKS AND NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE.

One less customer to care about.

There seems to be no way for a consumer to resolve an issue caused by Stripe. My credit cards are being refused by online merchants, but there is no underlying reason. I've spent days trying to resolve this, and was finally able to determine that the problem is at Stripe. Somehow they've blacklisted me. It's clearly an error, but there seems to be no way to fix it. American Express says they aren't refusing the charges - the charges are never even getting to them. The online merchants don't know how to fix this. And there seems to be no way to even contact Stripe unless you're a business customer of theirs. Do I have to file a class action lawsuit to get their attention?

Not sure why you re getting so much hate Stripe! But thanks for an amazing customer service experience and being so supportive and open to discussions.

It s been two years almost that we ve been using Stripe and Love the platform, payments always on time, UI is excellent and is an excellent solution overall for everyone if you re making tens of thousands of dollars or doing millions.

Worst company on the planet. I never thought I could say a company is worse than Comcast but Stripe takes the cake.

Someone opened a Stripe account in my name and actually withdrew $11,000 out of my business account. Stripe allowed someone to open an account without verifying that that it was fraud. I am a general contractor and my name is plastered all over the internet. One phone call would have solved this problem. Now I am out $11k and I hope to recover it.

WORST OF ALL------I can't get stripe to call me and there is no phone number. When I sent an email it took 2 days for them to reply and their response was "It must be you, could it be someone in your office". After another 2 days and several angry emails they still refused to call me or provide a phone number.

Even worse than that.....THEY REFUSED TO LET ME KNOW IF THE ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED. Can you imagine an account in my name and they refuse to give me any information about. For all I knew they were continuing to accept charges and were planning on taking more money from my account.

It has been about a week now and they still refuse to give me any other info other than they finally closed the account.

Beware of this company. Talk about bad customer service----this is no customer service and truly a company that has no moral compass.

I see that Stripe responded that they have resolved this by email. NO STRIPE....you did not resolve it. Doing nothing is not resolving the issue.

3 weeks ago, my account payouts were shut off without notice stating that I needed up to update my address and send in my Articles of Incorporation.

After sending in necessary documents. My reviewal process was scheduled to end 6 days ago.

Still no response, I initiated a chat and they told me I needed to send more info. I sent

Many, many, many follow-ups across many, many days and I receive 0 responses from them.

Yesterday I was asked to update my banking details. I checked the account and there seemed to be no issue, either way - I deleted the connection and relinked.

I sent an email back, then another, then another - still no response.

I call in asking for an update on my address being validated - should be straightforward my exact address is posted on my Articles of incorporation - they told me this is no longer a productive conversation and hung up on me within 5 minutes before I could even response.

They do not respond to e-mail other than to say we are looking in to it, and you can not get anyone on the phone. I would have left no stars but you can't. At that time, understandably only English language support was available. Jennifer called me 5 minutes later and she wanted to make an appointment for my request. I meant; that I only have a short request and if she has a short time, we can also clarify it. She could help me and everything was fine. Very friendly and accommodating.

I know of several online companies, including one of my projects, where Stripe simply destroyed substantial monthly revenue streams. Read their terms and conditions completely before agreeing...proceed at your own peril.

Not terrible customer service, no customer service. There are no name associations with the transactions, so no way of knowing who paid and who didn't. This isn't merchandise sales its for a scoring program for sports. I can get the information, but I'll have to manually go line by line and line up names, dates, etc. in order to find out who paid. Sure I "know",but I have to show it to the accounting dept.

That and my other questions could be answered in 60 seconds, but they'd rather wear me down with endless emails back and forth for weeks instead. That's crap.

Stripe unexpectedly froze our account. Mind you, Stripe reviewed our website, transaction averages, policies, and services before approving us. Then suddenly, they state that we're high risk. We completed verification only for them to tell us that they THINK our most recent transactions were invalid and unauthorized by the cardholders. Stripe initiated refunds. Basically, Stripe allowed customers to get free service from us. We were flabbergasted that they said they THOUGHT the charges weren't authorized, but didn't verify anything. We asked them to contact the cardholders through their banks. Stripe did not respond. Stripe cut off our chat support and of course, they have no telephone number (which is highly suspicious of a company handling millions of business dollars). Stripe then refunded customers from 90+ days ago but are holding the most recent transactions hostage (opposite of what they'd told us was the problem). We didn't know this happened until a client contacted us, asking us why we gave them their money back. They were afraid that they'd lost their account WITH US! We explained the situation to our customer, who was equally appalled so they wrote us a letter of verification. We forwarded that to Stripe and also told them that we maintained card authorization forms for all transactions, if they needed them. Stripe did not respond. There were never any chargebacks. None. It's been over a month of silence and Stripe is holding over $14k of our revenue hostage. It doesn't even seem real that a merchant processor would be allowed to exist and transact such sensitive business without a customer telephone number. We're prepared to retain an attorney if Stripe doesn't atleast give us the courtesy of replying. This is disheartening, especially given that we started our business to help better our country.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

As I am writing this, I am currently looking for other payment-processors for my Shopify-store. It is astonishing that a company as serious as Shopify would ever recommend or have Stripe as one of their main payment-processors.

Stripe is an extremely unprofessional and unaccredited company. They have no customer-service phone line; and basically no form of telecommunication. Most of their customer-service is automated (bots), and it is extremely difficult to find an actual representative (with experience) that is willing to investigate and help you with a particular case.

Recently, I received a dispute for 'fraudulent' order. An order of over $550.00 that was paid, handled, and successfully processed almost 3 months ago! How is it possible, that after 3 long months, and after their own 'fraud-analysis' (which Stripe does on every order you receive) was cleared, suddenly the order is marked as fraudulent? Instead of helping you with the case, they make you submit evidence (which I did, and I submitted irrefutable evidence), yet they still make you wait about 1-month for a response; in which almost, 80% or more (regardless of how professional your business is) the customer's bank will deny the dispute and you will lose your hard-earned money.

What angers me the most, is that we emailed the customer, we shipped the order on time (perfect conditions, new item, boxed properly), and the customer never even communicated with us to let us know that there was something wrong with the order.

Stripe is unprofessional (and I would even argue that some of their activity is illegal). They immediately put their hands on my bank, without any right, after over 2 months of an order, which was not fraudulent as the customer claimed (according to Stripe's own fraud-analysis mechanism), plus the customer's shipping/billing-address matched perfectly, and the address was a medical-center (we sell medical/dental related products).

We will escalate this particular case with our bank, as we will not allow Stripe to illegally abuse their power and take our hard-earned money, especially when the customer has not even returned the product back to us. We will also eliminate Stripe immediately from our Shopify store.

I would advise anyone that is professional, and that has been selling online for years, to look for a better and more professional payment-processor. Stripe is an absolute joke of a company.

I was having difficulty with two transactions that I have accepted through our online auction business. No matter what I did I couldn t get the credit cards to be approved. I went online and I realize that new security measures have been implemented starting last year and they were implemented gradually. They are more stringent and it makes it more difficult for people who have had any fraud Or theft of their credit card history to get approved. I was able to speak with someone directly and she checked and helped me white list these people. She was so sweet and helpful. Thank you for having good support staff. And, she answered the phone at 11 PM!

Extremely disappointed with my experience. Received one email from stripe a month ago telling me they would not give me any payouts until we added a privacy policy and fullfillment policy to our payment page. The email was overlooked. However, we didn't get a phone call letting us know or any emails warning us that our account would be suspended soon if we didn't take action. They have $40,000 of our money and have made it extremely difficult to get this released. We are small business owners. I'm unable to pay my bills because Stripe is holding onto our money. Response time is a minimum of one day and you cannot talk to a manager. Responses are also extremely vague and can only be made from their payout dept via email (they won't provide a phone number for this department), leaving me on a goose chase for days trying to figure out exactly what needs to be added to restore our payouts and collect our $40,000.

Stripe seems to be a big believer in screwy online APPs, a lack of transparency, violating local market regulations and rules, and generally being awful with customer service.

A 17.05$ test charge should NEVER be 1705 dollar test charge.

So very strange that an APP, online at yhet, would be this buggy. I'd assume that after having a corp for this long that they'd have worked out the bugs inherent within a conpcom payment system, but no.

Strangely enough their customer service department seems strangely disconnected with the ideals of customer service, or even efficient service.

After a decade overseas, I would imagine that such an entity would take note of world development and become more adaptive and inherently competitive, but instead we are left with a husk of a company that cantc even bother to copy successes like Alipay or Wechat Pay. A company that responds well by accusatory when inflammatory language towards it's customers. A company that can't even get an app to properly process the difference between 1705 and 17.05.

This is the story of stripe, a laggard within the industry that truly deserves to be caught up with an acquisitioned by more competitive and service oriented corps.

So far, so good. Straightforward setup with help from Stripe Support. Not heavily used yet by our small nonprofit, but all our transactions to date have worked smoothly, with prompt deposits. Glad to have payment processing for merchandise sales on our site under closer control. No anomalies as some have reported here.

there is no one to speak with!!
when i make email inquiries as to why my funds are not being released i get an automated generic response, time after time!
do not use them!!!!!
i have confirmed all requests and replied immediately to all of their emails.
I am a business owner and this is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable.
There is zero fraudulent activity! my account has been frozen and the payout date continuously changes for over 2 months.

No phone number, only email. Guess who controls what happens, how and when?
If they can hold your money for a few days, they can make a handsome interest amount; imagine if they held it for weeks or even more than a month; imagine if every time you tried to get them to release it (after you had to discover they were holding it), they told you how you as the customer could fix it but the "how" was a different "how" each time; imagine if the "how" continued to require more and more action on your part, going from just changing something in your profile, to emailing them the same info, to reading their help articles online to getting letters signed by your CEO, COO and Board of directors; imagine if they just never released it constantly claiming one thing or another...sounds crazy?! It's not, it actually what happened. Clearly, the support staff are unmanaged and free to do they'd like and clearly the company has renegades working for it that shield these issues from ever getting to the leadership.
Do yourself and your company a favor- DO NOT hire Stripe. There are SO MANY companies out there who compete and do better and who you can actually get a hold of; who WANT to provide good service and who actually manage their staff; who, if there's an issue, there is a clear path to correcting that issue and leadership levels to go to.
Stripe may have some people's money but they just lost 6 different organizations' business- were barring any of our companies or affiliates from working with Stripe indefinitely.

All the reviews are on point. The suspended my account for no reason, never had any issues. Stating that it is high risk. Plus, holding several thousand dollars in reserve for 90 days. I understand they have to hold some amount but they are holding the entire amount. I have nowhere to go now. To top it of gave me 5 days to switch to other payment gateway. It takes more than 5 days to get a different payment system. Never seen a horrible company like this in my life. They will completely ruin you, Stay away!!!!

Terrible scamming thieves!! They closed our account Larry Garcia Racing for no reason which is fine with me however they didn't pay out for the last transactions they processed. Its been almost a month and still have not recieved my $385. All I want is the money I am owed. My customer got his product, was happy and no issues. No chargebacks or anything. I am semi-retired so I guess I will just have to sue them, I have nothing else to do. Sent them a demand for payment letter today now I get to wait for 5 days and if they don't make it right I will sue them for the money they owe plus court fees, punitive damages, etc. I would not reccomend this group of clowns to my worst enemy. Sent them 8 emails and they don't have the decency to respond. I see why they have so many negative reviews. If they make it right I will remove this review. If you can still see it then they chose to make things hard on themselves. It will cost them thousands of dollars to keep my $385

Beware of Delayed Payouts from Stripe. Our small business started using Stripe April of this year. Our small boutique Med spa is low risk with zero chargebacks and to date, zero refunds.
On 5/10/19, one month after using stripe We received this email notification below:

We're reaching out let you know that we've had to increase the delay in paying out funds to your bank account to a 5-business-day delay. This is an unfortunate but necessary part of mitigating the risks inherent in providing credit services to our users, and we apologize for the sudden change.

That said, once we've been able to observe a sufficient amount of business activity from your account, we'll be able to speed up your payouts. Feel free to reach out after your business has accepted normal payment volume for a month, and we'll do our best to get your account back on a faster payout schedule.

After a few back and forth emails with customer service with Stripe we received this email on 5/21/19

We're sincerely sorry that we've had to temporarily extend your transfer schedule to five days. Unfortunately, we also have a responsibility to thoroughly review each account that signs up while simultaneously protecting ourselves from financial risk. Sometimes, as in this case, that means we have to slow down transfers for a short period while we complete those reviews. We know how important it is to be able to accept transactions and payouts quickly in order for a business to continue running smoothly, and we'll work to make sure this review is completed in a timely manner.

We should be able to get your transfers back on schedule at the end of the month, so long as you continue to process a normal volume for your business that we can review in an ongoing manner.

If your transfer schedule remains set at five days at the end of this month-long period, please don't hesitate to get in touch to let us know.

We decided continue with stripe through the end of the month to allow them to observe our business payouts. As of today 6/18/19 it is still 5 days and with the weekend it s more like 7-8 days for payouts. We reached out to customer service to have this resolved and this is what we received:

On review of your account, I'm afraid we won't be able to put your account on a faster payout schedule at the moment, we would require that you write in 90 days after the initial payout plan was implemented.

This would be May 10, 90 days from this would bring you to around the 10 August, 2019, we would need to wait until this date so as we can observe your processing for the three months before we can reduce your payout schedule.

Again, our industry is low risk with zero chargebacks and zero refunds to date. They have absolutely no reason to continue to delay funds into our account. They have now gone from a ten day period to needing a 90 day period to observe. Stripe set the expectation that it would be resolved by the end of May which led us to the decision to continue processing through them. With continued funds tied up with them its wreaked havoc on our business. Cash flow is the lifeblood to small businesses and our business is no different. If you have the ability and don t mind waiting 7-10 days for deposits then stripe might be a good option for your small business otherwise consider going with another merchant processor.

Stripe will not only NOT transfer payments your customers or clients make by credit card, but it will give you an endless number of hoops you have to jump through if you need help with any transactions right away. I am about to lose a client whose court filing fees payment by credit card cleared on 3/20/18, but Stripe still has NOT transferred the cleared net funds to my business bank account as of 3/28/2018.

Not good stay People are nothing but scammers charge your bank account for nothing don t prevent any services don t do anything do not use this company for anything fraud alert from alert fraud alert

awesome service. I sent a text and got a call back...

awesome service. I sent a text and got a call back. explained situation and was told the other dept. handles that issue. I was thinking, " of course they do". To my surprise, I received an email saying issue was resolved. i explained payment went to wrong place in that same email and BOOM it was corrected immediately!!!!! Everyone was clear and concise and I was paid my money all within like 24 hours probably less. Amazing!

Thank you all for knowing your job. This allowed me to explain my issue once, not over & over. It was very nice.
