Stripe unexpectedly froze our account. Mind you, Stripe reviewed our website, transaction averages, policies, and services before approving us. Then suddenly, they state that we're high risk. We completed verification only for them to tell us that they THINK our most recent transactions were invalid and unauthorized by the cardholders. Stripe initiated refunds. Basically, Stripe allowed customers to get free service from us. We were flabbergasted that they said they THOUGHT the charges weren't authorized, but didn't verify anything. We asked them to contact the cardholders through their banks. Stripe did not respond. Stripe cut off our chat support and of course, they have no telephone number (which is highly suspicious of a company handling millions of business dollars). Stripe then refunded customers from 90+ days ago but are holding the most recent transactions hostage (opposite of what they'd told us was the problem). We didn't know this happened until a client contacted us, asking us why we gave them their money back. They were afraid that they'd lost their account WITH US! We explained the situation to our customer, who was equally appalled so they wrote us a letter of verification. We forwarded that to Stripe and also told them that we maintained card authorization forms for all transactions, if they needed them. Stripe did not respond. There were never any chargebacks. None. It's been over a month of silence and Stripe is holding over $14k of our revenue hostage. It doesn't even seem real that a merchant processor would be allowed to exist and transact such sensitive business without a customer telephone number. We're prepared to retain an attorney if Stripe doesn't atleast give us the courtesy of replying. This is disheartening, especially given that we started our business to help better our country.
