Even more stunning in person than photos I had seen online. Although I didn't manage to climb it, the ferry over and the walk around Liberty Island were well worth the ticket price. The only thing I will say is that the shop is highly expensive, although I guess this is expected of any shop aimed at tourists!

When you take the boat ride over to see and take pictures you want to stand up around the perimeter to haave a great view to snap your photos of you sit down like we did you'll have little success capturing your photos. We stood up on the way back and captured some great shots.

This was so fun. It was a windy & chilly day but the sun was out and it was enjoyable, walking around the place and all the way up. The steps were quite a task but I made it & so glad too!

A must-see in New York. We were not too fuzzed in the beginning as we've all seen her before, and it just seemed like a lot of money to just be able to get up close. But with interesting facts scattered around and on the ferries bringing you to and from Liberty Island and Ellis Island (the 3 hour cruise), it is absolutely worth it, and I would highly recommend it to anyone, if only for the amazing view of Manhattan from the island.

Can't really visit New York without seeing the Statue of Liberty.

Best to book beforehand. Pedestal and crown tickets sell out months ahead so book as early as possible (we visited in August but no crown tickets before November).

It gets very busy and by 11am there a already a crowd. For nice pictures under the Statue go early. The 1st crossing is at 8am. Easy to find from South Ferry or Bowlers Green station.

My son loved this! fantastic experience and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The lunch here is amazing especially the crinkle fries! There was one incident but its a funny one, my wife got chased by an eagle who wanted her cheetos so bear in mind not to eat any snacks whilst walking to the statue! There is a lift to get to the pedestal which is convenient when going here with kids. One thing I would say is to go early as the queues for the statue cruise ships do get very long and crowded.

We did the crown trip which for us was good. Very small steps to get up there with a tight helter-skelter type stair case going up.

As you'd expect there isn't a great deal of room up there. We decided to get the 1000hrs ferry and get to the top fairly early on. This proved to be a good decision as on the way down the queue had built up considerably.

There are 2 sets of airport security to get there. One at battery park which we edged with a 45minute lead time and the next was to get to the pedestal/museum area.

We finished with the museum walk which unfortunately whilst steeped in I formation and history had many artefacts away for conservation. This I can accept but a suggestion would be to have an image or mock item to show what should be there. I appreciate we were somewhat in the off season (March) but I felt we missed some of the feel of the place. The new museum they are building is due to open April 19 which looks like a nice addition.

Overall we enjoyed our trip there and what artefacts were on show added to the experience.

No tourist trip to New York would be complete without a trip to this most iconic place in all of America , get ready for 2 airport like security checks one before getting in the boat and another when you land in liberty island, it is not only the statue of liberty but also a very good views of New York and New Jersey harbours which makes coming here all worthwhile.

This is a place that every American or everyone should visit. It is an ironic symbol of liberty and America pride. The new museum is amazing and the documentary of the history of the statue was well done by Walt Disney Presentation.

The key to a great tour is to purchase your tickets in advance because the crown tour is usually booked out at least six months. This reservation will provide you with a fast pass experience. The people how purchase their tickets day of could wait in line for hours to get on the boat to Liberty Island.

The Statue of Liberty is a enormous neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor in New York, within the United States
The Statue of Liberty is a global-famous image of freedom, given in 1886 by France to america in birthday party of friendship.

Superbly built and maintained park. Museum is good and the cold breeze of wind pleased you everytime. As the island is surrounded by sea, it never fails to give you moments of solitude.

This symbol of America has been used and, to quote the museum in her base, exploited since her creation. As such, I was a bit jaded, I think, about the whole experience until my daughter asked to visit it on her birthday. So, we went, and I have to admit that the enormity of this edifice, the sheer size of her, put into perspective the enormous efforts that those who helped create her went through. Those efforts were but a nod toward what she stood for, though, and being in her shadow helped me to understand just what she really meant: hope. Hope for people fleeing interminable situations in their home country. Hope that, maybe, things can be safer for their children elsewhere.

Amazing experience. Went in November with a wind chill of like 5 degrees, so not near as busy as the summer months, but still a great time. Make sure to check out the museum too, almost skipped it, happy I didn't. Makes for some cool pictures too.

Gorgeous view the people were so nice and accommodating. We went up to the pedestal and the view was great and it was also nice they had an elevator for my mother. Don't miss the museum there's some neat stuff to see in there

What a lovely place to visit. The statue is absolutely beautiful and the museum next to it is fun to visit and free. You'll understand more of the history of this statue. I haven't been in the statue because that was pretty expensive.

Its a very good experience with the ferry and then seeing the statue from the ferry its really amazing view! .. i didn't see the view from the crown, the ticket's it takes up to 2 months to get one ... the seal lemon juice fresh one for 5$ its really good.

I'm the "cream of the crop..... I rise to the top"...... of like a zillion stairs to get to the statue's crown. The view over Manhattan is breathtaking from Lady Liberty. She represents everything our country stands for, all of our liberties and everything we fought for. This is truly a memorable landmark.

Alright guys, the Ellis island and statue of liberty your is truly amazing but you've got to be patient: the queue for the ticket and the entrance can take some hours. It's definitely worth the wait thou.

The most amazing experience. Sailing up to her and seeing her. As we set of the weather was not nice but when we arrive the sun came out. The concessions were surprisingly reasonable priced and generous portion sizes. Highly recommend the torch cup lemonade and less than $5. Bargain. Would love to go again when the new museum opens.

One of the most interesting views of the Statue of Liberty is by boat. The Staten Island Ferry which is free and travels from lower Manhattan to Staten Island, allows you to have stunning views of the Statue of Liberty as well as lower Manhattan. There are also party boat rides that allow these amazing views at night.

Don't miss this on your trip to NY. You will start to sing patriotic songs and shed a tear knowing what America is really all about. And, it's an amazing structure. I recommend the audio tour.

The Statue of Liberty was a joint effort between France and the United States, intended to commemorate the lasting friendship between the peoples of the two nations. The French sculptor Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi created the statue itself out of sheets of hammered copper, while Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel, the man behind the famed Eiffel Tower, designed the statue s steel framework. The Statue of Liberty was then given to the United States and erected atop an American-designed pedestal on a small island in Upper New York Bay, now known as Liberty Island, and dedicated by President Grover Cleveland in 1886. Over the years, the statue stood tall as millions of immigrants arrived in America via nearby Ellis Island; in 1986, it underwent an extensive renovation in honor of the centennial of its dedication. Today, the Statue of Liberty remains an enduring symbol of freedom and democracy, as well as one of the world s most recognizable landmarks.

I really wanted to enter the statue and the get the view from the crown. Apparently, you need to book in 6 months advance for entrance to the crown and one month in advance to enter the statue.
I was only able to get the view from the ground.
Loved the ferry ride to the island.

It's a great place to visit. The view you have. Only thing was there's a construction going on and it can be seen on the photos unless you are creative and imaginative. And they also have souvenir shops with variety of nice items.

Took the ferry cruise to statue of Liberty back in 1990 with my wife! Didn't go into the statue as the line was huge but still enjoyed the visit as well as the scenic views of lower Manhattan!

The statue of liberty is easy to see from shore and when you get out there you realize it's really not that big. We got the crown tickets which was a cool experience and the stairs weren't nearly as bad as they would like you to believe. If you are out of shape there are break spots. It is extremely tight inside the stairs and crown. It is also a lot windier out on the island than on shore

Enjoyed climbing up the statue base. We planned the trip last minute so we're not able to get crown tickets (plan 3+ months out). The small museum was interesting and all my family (3 to adult) enjoyed it. It looks like they will be building a new museum soon. You can not bring in any bags, strollers, umbrellas. You pay $2 for a locker and check the larger items.

Must see in NYC!!! If you cannot wait in line too long, a pro tip is to take the free Statin Island ferry round trip, which is free, and you will get very close to the Statue and get great shots and enjoy the view. Highly recommended if you are short on time and again, completely free of charge.

I attended here with my colleague Ashleigh Randall. She runs frequently so managed to go up the many many stairs at a rapid rate. I struggled to keep up. The view at the top was worth my struggles though.

I did it. I finally visited the Statue of Liberty, the famous monument I've been hearing about my whole life. It was breathtaking. It's sad that now we don't have access to go to the statue's crown but you could still get some great shots. The island was a great place to take pictures and explore. The Cruise was also really fun. Guys, if you're in Manhattan, you have to check this place out.

Very nice and clean place, you can get to it via statue cruises. The only way to the island is via ship. If you get sea sick do not worry. The ride is always very smooth. Amazing place full of a vast history of people making the journey across the sea to the amazing United States of America. Here at Liberty island there is a cafe, gift store, museum that is free. Other things like actually going inside the statue cost extra money. Also get ready to be violated by the extreme security measures to get into the statue. The staff is very nice and one shared a story with us of how they were stuck on the island on 9/11. Very interesting story. Beautiful Lady Liberty and views of lower Manhattan.

Such a mesmerising experience.

This brightly shining beacon draws visitors year-round. So let's discuss your visiting options. The most popular method involves waiting at least 90 minutes for the ferry to cart you from Battery Park (in Lower Manhattan) to the statue located on Liberty Island, then making a stop at Ellis Island before returning to the mainland. The first boat of the day leaves at 9 a.m., the last boat leaves around 3:30 p.m., but almost all travelers complain of the long, disorganized lines and security screenings on top of the $18.50 ferry fee for such an abbreviated trip.

To avoid some of the hassle and make the most of your day, travelers offer a few tips. One, get in line extra early so that you can get on one of the first boats. Two, purchase a ticket and catch the ferry at the Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey (you'll get the same tour but face shorter lines). If you're short on time, have no fear you can still view the monument from Battery Park or the High Line. Taking a guided tour is another hassle-free way to see the iconic landmark. Several of the city's best boat tours circle the Statue of Liberty, making for some spectacular photos.

The ferry that leaves from Battery Park is accessible from the Bowling Green subway stop; you can take the 4 or 5 train and visit any day except Dec. 25. Check out the official website for more information or go to the Statue Cruises website for boat schedules, information and to purchase tickets online. Really cool experience! Be prepared to stand in ridiculously long lines for security! Seriously, bring some food to eat while you are in line. There were people sharing pizzas. The ferry over to Liberty Island has food and drinks, as well. Get tickets to go into the pedestal in advance! And get tickets to go into the crown like 4 months in advance! The history and the aesthetic are amazing!!!

I was able to take my family to see the statue and spend the day sight seeing in the area. well worth the trip a must see at least once. my wife was very impressed and bale to see all the great views

The ferry provides tons of good photo opportunities as does Liberty Island itself. The gift shop isn't as overpriced as other tourist attractions. Don't plan on going onto the pedestal or crown unless you get tickets a few months in advance. Set aside about two hours if you're just visiting the statue. If you want to tour Ellis Island too add another hour. A ticket to see both islands sets you back $18.50 and includes audio tours on both islands.

The boat ride was rocky. Breathtaking experience to see Liberty up close for the first time. The audio tour is useful to get explanations and histories of the various things on the island and it s included in the price of the ticket. We will return.

Very fun trip. Staff was nice. Amenities were pretty good on the islands. Only complaint is that everything wasn't quite open yet (they are renovating parts of Ellis Island and adding a visitor's center to Liberty Island), but that doesn't really count because the islands should be even better when you go!

Amazing place to spend a couple of hours. The views back to Manhattan are breathtaking. Best to avoid the queues and book online. Try for a departure before 10:30 to avoid the crazy queues through security.

Amazing piece of history and well worth a trip. Would love to have gone up to the crown which is available for extra. Ferry was ok but security to board ferry was not particularly pleasant as staff not paying attention to dividing queues up properly and making me empty pockets three times. Too busy updating their Instagram when should have been helping customers. Liberty island interesting but loses a star for not serving any alcohol on the island...

A must see. Very interesting. The museum in the Liberty Island is very interesting. The ferry that depart from the NJ is way less crowded than the one that comes from NY. Same for the return. Go back to the NJ it's way easy then go back to NY.

This is definitely much more than a statue- it is more of an experience. Unfortunately, it was exceptionally foggy the day we visited so couldn't really see too much on the approach. Be prepared for a lot of security checks!
You receive a complimentary audio guide which is useful too.

Love the audio tour, getting interesting facts like how it s made from cooper equivalent to 9million pennies and they took 20years to turn the green colour it is now. Have both the tour around and getting off at the site. Its worth getting off on the little island.

Not only the Native American, but any inhabitant of our planet to the question what is a symbol of the United States, without hesitation, will answer: the Statue of Liberty. It is no coincidence that it is this monument that we most often see in American cinema, it is no coincidence that tourists buy souvenir shops and bring home exactly copies of the Statue of Liberty.

You can either book tickets to the statue or enjoy a free boat ride on the Hudson river. You will pass by the statue. I booked tickets online for a visit to the Statue and Elis Island. There are 3 kinds if tickets available. I booked the tickets for the pedestal. Tickets for the crown are fewer in number and have to be booked before hand. You reach Battery Park and stand in a queue to board the ferry. There are strict security checks on the way to the ferry. The ferry will take you to the statue island. You again stand in a queue to enter the statue premises. You either climb up the statue or take an elevator.

What an icon.

What an icon.

Despite being dangerously cold on the day we went, there were no regrets when we reached crown. A great view of Manhattan and an indelible memory for our trip to New York City.

Gift shop and bookshop have a good selection of memorabilia at reasonable prices.

Beautiful day in January. Clean, with great views of New York skyline. A word for caution though - do not talk to the ticket sellers trying to "help" you. Go straight to information center and buy tickets from the brown building for $19.25. I was almost fleeced by the random people in uniforms, they have fake badges and sell you $35 tickets

Was slightly underwhelming by the tour. I went because it is a must on a visit to NYC and was reasonably priced at $19. Views over Manhattan are impressive but you can get these from the States Island ferry. It is a great sign of the US and amazing piece of architecture but better seen from the outside than the island itself. I got the ferry from New Jersey which I would recommend. You do have to pay $7 for the liberty landing ferry but you can explore the place before visiting the statue. Plus you can just hop on the NY ferry back.
