Visited in August 2013. It was hot sunny weather. Place is amazing with fairy services and helicopter service. We can go status of liberty by fairy or helicopter. Location is covered by huge buildings. Status is between New York and New Jersey. It was really good time.

Such a unmissable iconic landmark of New York and the United States in general, a must see.

Don't forget to read about how it was given by the French as gift for the American independence from the UK.

Unless you've booked a crown ticket I wouldn't bother taking the time to go to the island itself. You can get equally good views and shots of the copper show off from the staten island ferry which runs more frequently and is cheaper.

We didn't go to the top of the Statue of Liberty, but if you do make sure you reserve your tickets in advance because this place will be packed. Statue of Liberty was an amazing sight to see. This is a definite place for you and your family and kids if you have any. Make sure you put this place on your bucket list.

Fascinated by this monument. Makes you appreciate the rich history of the most successful nation on Earth and how ideas propelled this success. We had the pedestal tickets and not the crown one but still we get to see a lot. The museum is really informative and educational.

Awe inspiring and humbling, Liberty Island is a must-visit at least once in your life. We have been here twice over the years. Not only is it amazing to take the trip up the inside (you need to be in shape for this) but the view of the Manhattan skyline is amazing.

Be sure to book well in advance for your ferry ride and tickets to the top. You can simply walk the island and appreciate Lady Liberty from the outside without tickets to the inside. But if you wan the full experience, book months in advance and prepare for lots of standing in line.

Nice but cant go up to top any more its to restricted as far as numbers of people allowed. Park ranger said it's about being able to get everyone out if there was a terrorist attack so they block most people from going up. I dont agree with it but I m not in charge. That's like stopping car accidents by banning cars....

Crowded and we were pretty upset to find that we have to reserve or buy a ticket months in advance to be able to go up in the statue. We were from out of state and couldn't go up and not sure how to plan that out. But staff were very nice and the guys taking the pictures were awesome and funny. They sure do pick the right people to take pictures there. Now just work on the statue ticket thing.

Absolutely amazed on the experience. If you havent gone you need to go. I would recommend buying tickets long in advance to get up to the crown area as tickets for that sells out months on advance. Recommend getting a tour of the island and a tour of Ellis Island. Coolest part is seeing inside the statue as the base of the statue has a glass floor with a view up to the top.

Love going to the Statue of Liberty and the Museum. I would recommend booking tickets in advance to climb to the top as they normally sell out months in advance.

You also get amazing views of the city from the island.

First time there and very excited about visiting and seeing the Statue of Liberty. Many people were there, we were able to take lots of pictures and get our piece of the pie there as far as the statue goes. Everybody around was quite polite helping each other take pictures of each other. Was a wonderful day, and great weather plus the pictures turned out fabulous. Highly recommend this place.

The tickets were about 19 dollars per adult if my memory serves to be correct. You go through airport style security, even though it's very quick, but that makes you feel safe while on the island. It's a short boat ride over that stops at Ellis Island and boats you past the scenic New York landscape. I loved it!! Also, there are professional photographers there that take pictures of you for 9 dollars a piece. We got 5 pictures for 45 dollars! Sooooo worth it!! The food there was good but pricey as you would expect. It was affordable though. The souvenir shop was one of the best in New York, only thing is that most of the souvenirs located within the shop we're pertaining to the statue of liberty. It's a nice outing for the entire family. We enjoyed it!!

Statue base is very large with lookout points all around. Great views of nearby Manhattan and Jersey City, as well as of Liberty Island and the Statue of Liberty. Great place to stop and see while you are on the Island and while you are visiting the statue.

The ferry ticket is 18.75USD and Can be taken from Counter at Battery Park, the security is airport like security prior to boarding the Ferry boat.
Do not take tickets from outsiders and take it from official counters , it includes audio tour.
The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor in New York, in the United States.

The Statue of Liberty was a gift from the French people commemorating the alliance of France and the United States during the American Revolution. Yet, it represented much more to those individuals who proposed the gift. A photograph of Edouard de Laboulaye from the Galerie Contemporaine collection

The Statue of LIberty tour is a MUST stop for anyone travelling to New York City! The museum is astonishing in the detail that it gives to tourists and the technology they use to present it!
The Great Wall of Us (A giant TV/computer Screen) is a technological milestone as a tourist may take a picture of themselves and their picture will then be transferred to the Great Wall which is a giant movie screen that combines with thousands of other pictures and showing how humanity is far more alike and similar than we are different.

Overhyped place for visit. Very expensive food, drinks, and souvenir- inside the island. But foods are of good quality. Morning visit is recommended. Fun time for one time visit. BTW online ticket booking is completely misleading. Anyone can purchase ticket from the counter. Also big problem of parking nearby and they are highly expensive. People are there trying to fool you, to earn money. So be careful. Lots of criminals converted to civilians, and gathered for collecting free money from the tourist.

Beautiful and historic and all the professionals that run the facility are kind knowledgeable and very personable. They make you feel safe while still being enjoyable. The views and experience are totally something every NYC visitor should experience.

A must-see at least once in your life. The new museum is nicely done with a short film and Lady Liberty artifacts, including the original light. Go to the roof of the museum for great views of the back of the statue, as well as lower Manhattan. Ranger tours are available.

Seeing her in person is so much better and different than on a screen. Tour is included with your ferry ticket, be sure to buy from the authorized seller. If you want to go up/in you need to plan way ahead.

Loved visiting the Statue of Liberty and Ellis island! Very intriguing history and super cool to learn about a few of my ancestors that came through Ellis island, they have a place with computers and you can type in relatives names who have came through and it brings up their records and the details about there journey to America! Very cool place and they also have super good lemonade.

It is worth a visit, ferries go from battery park in lower Manhattan. There's a movie that explains the history of the statue at the museum on the island, it's very interesting and the walk around the landmark is also very nice with the Manhattan skyline in the view.

The line was long and the heat was really scorching! But being first timers, our excitement brushed the inconveniences off! The ferry ride was uneventful and upon reaching the island, the long lines happened again. There was a medical emergency in the statue thus we were advised to wait for 30minutes. When we were finally allowed to proceed that s when the magic of Lady Liberty happens. It was an awesome experience especially knowing the history of the great statue. No thanks to the 9/11 affair, access near the statue is limited to those who have paid for the inside tour. We should have paid additional for that experience! Just the same it was a magical and unforgettable moment for me!

I had a pretty amazing time visiting the statue. We went with the ferry that depart from liberty state park on the Jersey shore. If you would like to climb the statue you're gonna gave to get the ticket online at the website a day to the planned visitation date. We didnt know this and the ticket we bought said grounds only.

Beautiful and relaxing ! Only a few resturants and a gift shop but its was nice to walk around and get some food and a souvenir. If you go on a busy day the lines may seem so long but they go pretty fast . It can be super busy though which can make waiting in line for food frustrating.

I used to dream to visit this place since the time I saw it in picture. It was a dream come true when I saw the queen in front of my eyes. I really loved this place. I will suggest people to carry food as the price at the local cafes are little high.

Visited Statue of Liberty today and was very impressed. The cruise was straightforward, go through security and you're in. Once you land on the island, drop the bags off and head through another checkpoint before you get to the pedestal. I wasn't happy with having to pay $2 to rent a locker to keep my bag until I've finished the tour. However it was alright as it's for a once in a lifetime visit to the statue of Liberty.

A beautiful icon representative of our amazing country! Worth visiting in person instead of just passing by on a ferry. MAKE SURE YOU GET TICKETS IN ADVANCE FOR A SPECIFIC TIME TO AVOID THE LINES!!

It's a cool piece of USA history. I would recommend paying the extra to go inside the pedestal. You get to see the inside of the statue. The new museum is amazing with great interactive things to do and look at.

Years and years of childhood memories as well as adult memories and I never I'm tired of experiencing this great location. You absolutely can't beat it and if you have not stopped here yet it's absolutely worth the time and the money. Don't miss it we are absolutely lucky as a country and I hope everyone realizes we are

Make sure you get tickets before you go or you will be in queue for hours. There is security to go through as well.

It's beautiful up close and I even shed a tear knowing what she represents.

Beautiful place.. the statue resonates the greatness in engineering marvel. We took the pedestal tickets and the took the stairs up, which was not that bad of a walk.. my 4 year son did it with ease. The pedestal does not give a great view of the statue but really great view of Manhattan.. the best view of the statue is from the tiny park out front.. you cannot take any water or snacks up to the pedestal, but inside the park it is allowed.

Amazing place , so well known it's instantly recognised. One of the highlights of our trip to New York, although we were reliably informed that the statue of Liberty is in New Jersey not in New York.
If your planning on going, visiting the crown is a must, be we had to book it six months before we went and we had to be at battery park before 9.00am to collect our tickets so be aware. as everywhere security is always a hassle but don't be put off. It you are visiting the crown, there are steps up to the pedestal of the statue and another 162 up a narrow metal spiral staircase in the centre of the statue. There's lsndings at various stages on the way up for uou to restor take pictures but once at the top the view is fantastic. Space up there is limited, room for about 6 including the guides. We were told coming down was easier. . . It ain't. . . Our legs were aching by the time we got down. The secret is not to rush. . Pace yourself and you'll be fine. Our trip also included a trip to Ellis Island too which is also very educational
