Definately worth a visit when visiting New York, if you are looking to visit the top of statue of liberty, make sure you buy tickets for that 2-3 months in advance or they sell out. The ferry ride is about 10 min from the mainland and look into spending 1-2 hour on the island to experience the beauty of the statue and the new York city skyline. A lot of construction going on at the moment and it's a busy spot for pictures goers.

When you read about the Statue of Liberty and it's journey, one can only admire it with awe and unending adoration.

It is a must visit in New York. Can visit the island, pedestal or crown. Crown visit tickets are difficult to get, will have to buy couple of months in advance. Pedestal tickets are sold at the pier and cheap. City pass is also a better option.

Must visit, as it is a national monument and the skyline of new York visible from here is breath-taking.

You go here via a ferry, as it is on a separate island. This ferrry boarding has proper airport style security check so ensure you do not carry to much stuff.
Next you board ferry n HV this awesome ride to this island and get the best views of this monument.
Ensure you book tickets way in advance if you plan to go up-to crown of the monument, as those are limited tickets.
Best is the walk across island which is pretty huge and has captivating views.

The monument is split into 4 sections:

The monument is split into 4 sections:
- the park

- the pedestal
- the statue and the crown

We had pedestal tickets which gives us access to the first three of these. It was lots of fun and very informative. Definitely get the audio guide to have a full experience and knowledge of the island and the statue.
If you want crown tickets, you have to book months in advance. You still get a fantastic view from the top of the pedestal though.

Leave a good 3-4 hours for the whole experience.

The ferry only takes you to the island of the Statue of Liberty. If you want to actually explore Lady Liberty, make sure you purchase the Pedestal/Crown tickets at the admission center. These special admission tickets run out early; plan accordingly. It's also worth noting that the ferry also takes you to Ellis Island. Be prepared to be searched (airport style) prior to initial boarding of the ferry.

It's a great place to visit, the view from top of the statue in the crown it's amazing, should youI have to buy tickets with a few days before cuz it's limited and long line for go in, but I really recommend to live that experience.

Great boat trip. Great views of the city looking from the water. The Ellis island museum was done in the way that Americans do so well. Informative wide ranging and air conditioned. Picture from manhattan Bridge.

Definitely not the big green giant guy from the pea cans. But, this is still pretty cool. I love to visit this place in the summer. Even though its crowded that's ok. I love meeting new people around here. The Statue of liberty is crazy cool!

I thought it was a touristic place, but actually it was fun learning new stuff. I liked to learn how the statue was built. It was surprising just two coin thickness of her "skin".
Audio tour is really helpful, a lot of languages available.

I expected amazing and I got it! Pictures just don't do it justice at all. The size and scope of the statue is almost unbelievable.

The ferry ride from Jersey City offered excellent photo ops with Lady Liberty in the background. The landing itself on the New Jersey side has a refurbished version of the original train station and a wealth of displays about the history of the area and station itself. Very cool.

As a tick off my bucket list the Statue did not disappoint. It is a sight to behold and a MUST visit for anyone traveling to/through NYC.

Love the history! Be sure to check your ticket for time the statue is closing. We bought tickets to go up into the crown but spent a little too long in the gift shop and the statue closed. There should be large signs that state the hours the statue closes so people don't waste their money and miss out on seeing that part of history. Still a great time and place to see a part of America that few get to see any more.

Tip: Even if your ticket has a time slot, you can go earlier which I recommend. Our ticket was at 12:00 and we were let in at 11 am (Security didn't mind and happens often). Due to the sheer size of the crowds going to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty and the rides in between go as early as you can.

Nice half day outing. But Need to reserve crown tickets online well in advance (2 months). Good view of Manhattan. Beware of touts at Battery park falsely telling you that the statue is under renovation and offer a boat ride for 25$

The Statue of Liberty is easily in the top 3 on the list of things to see while in NY. The history behind this is fascinating and it's a great place to bring the kids to learn. The views from here are great, and you need to take a ferry from Battery Park if you are coming from the NY side. The more expensive tickets include potential tours and even to let's to go up into the base or higher.

Our 1st time in NY and we went full tourist mode! Lady Liberty is amazing up close and personal, the museum gives a ton of information about Liberty Island, the artist, inside structure (I never knew Eiffel was responsible for the inside!), as well as a 3 part movie about the process of funding, creating, transporting and building of Liberty. Tickets to Statue Cruises are purchased and include Ellis Island. If you want to enter the pedestal, plan in advance, tickets sell out a month in advance and tickets up to the crown sell out about 3-4 months in advance. It was an amazing experience!

My second time been to the Liberty (my first time was 2000).
Statue of Liberty Museum is newly opened in May 2019, which introduced the story of the Liberty and the original torch displayed in the Museum as well.
Ticket was bought at the Statue Cruises in Battery Park, you may get the ticket online as well. moreover, the ticket to the Statue of Liberty Crown and Pedestal could be reserved online.

Monumental size makes it worth a visit. Usually crowded to very lengthy long queues during long weekends in summer. Best place to visit is off season. A cruise boat will take you there along with some more places on water.

What's not to love about Lady Liberty, her majesty, grandeur to enlighten the world from NY harbor on Liberty Island (originally Bedloe Island) She was dedicated in 1886, a gift from the people of France to the people of the United States. She is 151'1"tall, from the base to the tip of the torch (but with the pedestal and foundation, it is 305 ft) and weighs 450,000 pounds.
She's made of copper, so turns green with age and exposure to the elements.

We had booked our tickets before leaving home. Even though we had a time we got on the ferry early no problem. Get there early if you can as obviously it's busy. Well organized though. Enjoyed the museum on both islands. Value for money all the way.

Go see this impressive Lady, an amazing trip right from the start of the ferry trip over to her. Take some amazing pictures as you get closer. A fantastic monument with easy to access walkways, cafes, clean toilets. Quite a few gift shops. Its the landmark recognised by everybody but to be able to say that you have stood at her feet is amazing.

The Statue of Liberty was amazing. Do not expect anything other than the Statie anf the museum though. Just being able to see such an iconic piece of American history was almost overwhelming. The museum gave a good view into how the statue was built. If you have the opportunity I would highly advise that you make the time to see the Statute of Liberty.

I really enjoyed my visit here. At first I didn't really care if I visited or not but once I was there I had a really good time. I didn't get to go up into the Statue of Liberty because you had to have advanced reservations set up.

There was a nice gift shop that had some items reasonably priced and a restaurant/concession stand to get food. I wasn't expecting there to be food available, I didn't eat there so I don't know if it was good or not. I did however get a hotdog on the fairy ride over and it was really good.

I would recommend this to others visiting NYC.

The Statue of Liberty was France's gift to America...

The Statue of Liberty was France's gift to America. Built in 1886, it remains a famous world symbol of freedom and one of the greatest American icons. It is one of the world's largest statues, standing just under 152 feet tall from the base to the torch, and weighing approximately 450,000 pounds.

You can see the statue from land, with particularly good views from Battery Park, on the southern tip of Manhattan. However, to truly appreciate the Statue of Liberty, the best thing to do is to take a short boat trip to Liberty Island and see it up close. You can walk around the base, enter the pedestal, or, with advance reservations, go right up to the crown.

On a tour to the Statue of Liberty, you have the option to stop at Ellis Island and explore the Immigration Museum. This fantastic museum is located in the historic immigration station complex, where thousands of immigrants were processed before entering the United States. Displays focus on the process, the experiences, and the stories of the people who came through here on their journey to the United States. You can even search the on-site computer database to see a record of immigrants who came through here.

Tickets to go inside the statue sell out. Pre-purchasing tickets is a must during the high season and a good idea at any time of year. The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Guided Tour is a four-hour trip that takes you to both the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. This tour allows early reserve line access to board the ferry, and includes access to the Pedestal Museum and the Museum at Ellis Island.

Note: Buying tickets at the ferry can be tricky, with hawkers claiming to be "official representatives" trying to sell you more expensive tickets before you can find the ticket booth.

It's a must visit in NYC. It's the boat ride, view, walk to pedastal. You can get a closer look at pedastal

The museum did a splendid job explaining the Genesis, travel, and modifications to see the liberty in current shape.

In summer it's crowded and the facilities are not sufficient to handle the crowd. Long queues everywhere for food, tokens, ride back and to boats. Could be improved but still not a lack to stop visiting

Very cool to see it in real. It was a good ecperience. Gifts shops are not extraordinary but hey...they do their job. We had a FANTASTIC fruit smoothie at the bar. Ferry was not too long to wait if you come early. Also don't forget to buy tickets for the head of the statue at least 3 month in advance or you will never ger one. Good luck :)

With one look you can understand why this is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Looking at this majestic sight leaves you with this feeling of pure beauty. People forget that this was a gift to us and sadly have forgotten what it stands More

I'm a tall European man. I felt rather intimidated by the size of this statue. I don't like being intimidated.
Anyways that's totally irrelevant. At arrival we found a man wetting the statue, quite adorable actually. However, it isn't exactly a great entrance. We continued our way and after strolling up the statue it turned out we weren't in Stalingrad. Should've had a sign that says "not in mother Russia!".
Therefore, only 2 stars.. I'm sorry.

This has been on my bucket list for a very long time and it sure didn't disappoint. Met at Battery Park to board the ferry to the island to meet lady liberty. The cruise was eyegasmic with great views of the statue of liberty and the skyline of Manhattan. The island is not big and can be covered entirely on foot. To enter into the statue you need special tickets. There's a gift shop where you can buy yourself some souvenirs to take home. Please do, they might be little bit pricey but trust me the quality is top notch compared to the ones found in Manhattan gift shops. Difference is that most of the miniature statue of liberty in Manhattan are made from China and I noticed the ones in the island were American made and the build felt quality overall. There's a cafeteria too grab a bite and don't forget to also visit Ellis island. Noticed most people spent a lot of time here forgetting that the last ferry to Ellis is at 3:30pm. But while here just enjoy, live the moment and take pictures. I recommend visiting with a group. I totally loved it.

The new museum is really good, showing the fascinating process of how the statue was originally made, and the history and concept behind it. Good restaurant and shops, and the boat trip offers some amazing views of downtown Manhattan.

Liberty enlightening the world was awesome to see in person. Our kids enjoyed it. They also liked the audio tour for them. We learned a lot.

Used the city pass to get on the boat and to Ellis island

You have to go and visit the Statue of Liberty, it's very interesting to see the statue from the bottom, this NY icon its majestic, there is a gift shop there that you can buy anything you want, don't buy on the ferry because it's more expensive than the gift shop, you can pay for a audio tour .

Awesome visuals and information. I enjoy that they give you the audio tour included. Not crowded, easy to navigate and manuver around. We did the pedestal tour (crown sells out easily 4-6 months in advance). The pedestal is VERY narrow and that makes it easy to feel crowded. Not very good visuals of the statue from that level. Cool to see the NYC skyline from the island, but you don't need to buy the pedestal package to enjoy that feature.

There is lots of walking. It wasn't busy at all in November, but it was a very cold rainy day. There was no lift, so 195 stairs up and down. I think disabled people could request access to the lift however.

Very nice experience ! We took the Ferry from Battery Park (make sure to arrive at least 30mn in advance - you ll have to go through the security check and the line can be long). I still felt like it was quick.
After a few minutes on the boat, we were at Liberty Island.
You can see the statue from far away !

I want to go back and spend more time there, see more. I think you can easily spend half a day there.
From Ellis Island, the boat goes back to NYC.

Okay ~ it s pretty awesome! I was so excited to see a really famous statue here, and it is really touched that when I realized its history and meaning. Everyone should respect each other to keep the world free !!

Friendly staff, and clean park! Lots to do with the museum and statue. Had two options. One to the top and one half way. We didn t do the crown, but had just as much fun doing the base. The lockers were clean and the walking is minimal. If you go to NYC, you have to come here. Even if it s just to say you did it.
