It s really beautiful place. The grand Statue of Liberty is awe inspiring and humbling. It s equally beautiful on all days and any time of the day. If you plan to take lot of pictures, then a sunny day would be best and the statue would look beautiful against the blue sky. The New York skyline is also visible from the shore and that is breath taking too. The audio tour they have is very informative and adds to the experience. The ferry is very convenient and has good frequency. When you wait in the queue for your ferry, make sure you are in the right queue. There are separate queue for new York bound tour and New Jersey bound tour. It easy to get confused and reach a wrong destination. Ellis island is also covered in the ferry tour and it has a good canteen too. The gift shop at the monument has great stuff and you are sure to find something in your budget. We took the ferry from New Jersey and it s has ample paid parking close to the ferry. The 9/11 monument at the New Jersey ferry station is worth visiting as well.

I had the honor of experiencing the "Big Apple" NY, when the World Trade Center was vibrant before 9/11/2001. It was AWESOME and to me New York has always been and it will always be a place to visit woth wonderment and excitement! The Statue of Liberty has been a landmark that captured my full attention from a child; wether in pictures or movies. True art of the highest expression! So inspiring!

This place is a must see for the whole family. Take a ride to Ellis island and the Statue of Liberty on a ferry boat. The kids will love it. Plenty to see as well as a learning experience. Plus it's an adventure of fun.

Good day out to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis island. It s quite reasonably priced and the ferry is quite short and easy from battery park. They have free audio guides and it s a great spot to enjoy the view of downtown Manhattan

It was great, although a little misleading as we thought the statue grounds meant actually within the confines of the statue itself and not the perimeter. All tickets to pedestal and crown were sold out. Queues were lengthy coming back too. Besides this, it was a great experience.

If you live or just passing by New York you must see Statue of Liberty up close. From far away it doesn t looks so fascinating but when you driving by up close on the boat or standing wright next to it it looks amazing. The only down side was that if you want to enter inside of statue you must reserve line online in 2 weeks before you go there and we didn t know it when we arrived

Highly recommend visiting this place when in New York! We booked in advance so we didn't need to wait in line and to secure tickets to the Crown.

The visiting the crown requires you to book in advance as there is limited tickets released each day - we booked 2 months in advance to secure our spot. You need to be able to walk up 354 narrow steps on a sprial stair case so be ready for that! We went in winter and where still sweating when we got to the top so if your going in summer be prepared to get really hot as there's no air conditioning!! But it was still worth it and not many people can say they've been in side lady liberties head ;)

When visiting the crown you'll need to out your bags in a locker which cost $2 each but you can take up your camera you'll also need to go though a second set of airport style security screening.

Statue of Liberty is great attraction here in New York City. Plan on spending anywhere between 2-3 hours to visit the island. Depending on how much time you may want to spend in the island, but it shouldn t be more than that. Worst part is getting through security, but once you are through, things will move fast. Definitely a beautiful piece, and what the statue represents makes it even more beautiful worth visiting. You will be able to take some wonderful pics from the ferry and in the island.

It was too cold day on 2nd Dec 2020, but it was fun to meet lady under the torch,

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!

the final lines in the speech said that those who come to the United States "to disturb our peace" are "aliens and enemies forever."

Good view of one of the wonders of the world however my ride was late by almost an hour which wasn t cool at all. But seriously awesome views of the city from the sea and I was lucky with the weather so was able to do quite a lot. Look forward to another visit soon.

It s as grand an experience as it seems to be. You buy a ticket, pass through airport grade security at Battery Park, enter your ferry ship and get ready for a short but exhilarating cruise to Denver Island, which is where the Statue of Liberty stands. It s majestic and magnificent, and of course the most memorable landmark of New York.

The view of Manhattan skyline from the island is also quite superb!

The Statue of Liberty was a joint effort between France and the United States, intended to commemorate the lasting friendship between the peoples of the two nations. The French sculptor Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi created the statue itself out of sheets of hammered copper, while Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel, the man behind the famed Eiffel Tower, designed the statue s steel framework. The Statue of Liberty was then given to the United States and erected atop an American-designed pedestal on a small island in Upper New York Bay, now known as Liberty Island, and dedicated by President Grover Cleveland in 1886. Over the years, the statue stood tall as millions of immigrants arrived in America via nearby Ellis Island; in 1986, it underwent an extensive renovation in honor of the centennial of its dedication. Today, the Statue of Liberty remains an enduring symbol of freedom and democracy, as well as one of the world s most recognizable landmarks.

Good touristic attraction, a must do in New York city. Many people after 10am. Boat service quite slow especially for boarding and disembarking.
Reservation mandatory if you want to go up the monument. Few months in advance for the crown access.

Wonderful tribute to freedom! I loved the video series. The history of the artist's idea, its development and actualization is much different than common stories. The concept of placing a massive Lady with the Torch of Freedom in America by New York City came to the artist amid the French revolution and from a dearth of human freedom around the world. His hope was that placing his Statue of Liberty where it is would spread liberty and human freedom throughout the world. Wonderful experience.

The boat ride there was enjoyable and fun, it is yet another should do, if you visit New York.

Here are the 3 reasons why.

1. Pop-culture
This is a symbol of the "freedom" of America in which the country was built on and is barely holding onto, so it comes up quite frequently in pop culture

2. History
A statue of this size, with this popularity, has a historical story and message.

3. View
You can go inside and have a great view of the city!

Incredible to see our nations Lady up close and personal. It's humbly to see where family had passed through Ellis island. Walking where they may have walked, seeing what they may have saw, makes you appreciate their sacrifice to set you up with the life you have.

Really enjoyed the park. Had to go through security twice ( once before you board the boat and then again when you go into the statue). The security was worse than the TSA. Super slow. Other than that the rest of the park staff was very friendly. We paid extra to go into the crown. Really cool experience

Loved the statue of liberty. It is quite the spectacle from the ferry and even more incredible to walk inside and see the construction. If you can, definitely get tickets to the pedestal at least, if not the crown. The museum's on the island are also a great opportunity.

We just got general admission tickets to visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The view is great and the walk around the base was not busy - it can be very touristy - but no visit to NYC is complete without visiting the Statue.

An incredible monument to American spirit and perseverance. Be prepared for a full day trip as it takes a good amount of time just to get on ferry to go there. Give yourself even more time if you wanna go inside. That said, it is so worth the time. We loved our trip here.

The Statue of Liberty is amazing experience. We went up to the crown and had an excellent view of New York. Barbara D was coming with me she s been here four times for multiple google reviews on multiple phones.

I loved this statue ever since watching X-men movie where rogue is captured by magnetoe. I m really happy I got to go on the crown and relive the experiences.

I booked this place on trip advisers and it was a little delayed at first and all sold out so I came to that trip advisor app one day later and there was two spots open so I snagged one of those spots.

Nyc is cool

What a great experience it was seeing the statue for the first time. I would suggest booking online and reserving a time otherwise you have to wait in a huge line. The ferry include trips to the statue ground and Ellis island before returning to battery park. There is service from New Jersey too. It took me around 3 hours from the moment I got to battery park up until arriving back so if you plan to go see the statue be sure you have the time.

Statue of Liberty what an awesome gift to our country. You cant help but feel a sence of awe as you arrive knowing that it was the first thing many immigrants saw when they arrived to the US. Make your plans well in advance if you want to go up inside the monument as we were told they sell out 6 months in advance.

A must see landmark in new york!
Recommend to pre book tickets before you go to skip the long queues of buying tickets when there.
Very high on security with two checks with scanners.
Different priced tickets depending on how high up you want to go up the statue.
Great views of new york from lady liberty for Great photos.
Expensive gift shop and cafe. Cheaper souvenirs for gift shops in Manhattan.

Long wait with security being as strict as it is in but over all you wont feel it with how slick they have made the process! So don't be put of with long waits.

I went to New York, with out any plan. Steps I followed to visit Statue of Liberty with out any plan but easy.

1. Drive From New Jersey to Staten Island ferry parking
2. There are free ferry to New York Staten Island ferry.

3. From there i walk about 1/2 mile to ward right side.. I found few small size ships boarding.
4. Near to that there is round building where i purchased tickets inside that. Price 18$(only to see from ground )
5. There are frequent ships move to liberty. Got one immediately and visited.. it was awesome experience..

What an amazing experience for once in a lifetime opportunity to visit such a spectacular place! Wonderful view from the Statue Cruises ship over to capture some great pictures ..

Advice:
Very hot day we went in August, be sure to bring cold water, sun cream and loads of battery power to take videos/pics.. Queues are very long! You have to go through security as well, just like the airport, fairly strict.. Trip is from New York, to Liberty island, to Ellis island and then back to New York (if you get off, this is the only way back, they rotate every 20 mins, long queues to get back on)

We visited from the New Jersey side and based on the reviews it said to arrive early. Our boat departure was 9:30. We got there at 7:30 and were the first to arrive. The first boat went out at 9:00 and they let us through at 8:30. The one thing I didn't realize was security was intense. They say airport like screening but this was more than that. Maybe because I have precheck and aren't used to regular airport screenings but you take off everything (jackets, belts, watches, hats ect..) so be prepared for that. This happens twice (at the state cruise terminal and again when you go inside the statue of liberty which was a pain but the feeling of knowing you were secure was a plus and security was friendly) Some things we wished we knew in advance were the audio tour starts in order. First outside, then then the musuem inside, then the pedestal. We did it backwards. Still worked out but would have been nice to hear it in order. They have two gift shops. The one that leads you into the pedestal is small and worth skipping. The one outside when you first enter is better but they have the same items at Ellis Island and it was less cramped so I would visit there instead. Allow at least 3 hours to see the statue without feeling rushed. The boats come every 20 mins but the boat back to New Jersey requires you to go to Ellis Island first and then wait for that boat which took about a hour for everything. We missed out exploring Ellis Island in detail due to time even though we were on the first boat of the day so plan a day to do both with nothing else in the afternoon to get your money's worth.

If you visit NYC and don't see this, you've really missed something spectacular.

Not only is it one of the most impressive monuments in the world, but the history behind it is fascinating.

There is definitely a reason why everyone goes.

Good experience from taking the ferry to the Ellis island museum to visiting the statue the of liberty itself. The whole experience is reasonably priced. You should plan ahead, at least six weeks (it says in their website) if you want to enter inside the statue. Also, it's a good thing to pick a day where the weather is nice and not very cold.

Unbelievble history here on this iconic island in the NY Manhatton & New Jersey--Jersey City area in the confluence of the Hudson & East River's. 1st time visit for me & we also toured Ellis Island while on the ferry tour. Also check out Castle Clinton & its history as a Battery Fort Island & then joined into the Battery Park. Aerial view from One World Trade Center--also a must visit!l

Despite not having access to climbe up the Statue of Liberty, I really enjoyed being there. Looking up the Lady of Liberty and reading about it was inspiring. Every family should go visit this place and know about the greatness of USA and the hearty nature of France.

It's an architecture of sophisticated level although note I havent been to America before. the way it's visual demonstration looks historical from the blind eye and makes nothing seem better than just a little glimpse over your cost apartment near the Statue of Liberty.Although, it seems very peculiar by the fact that it is located in the middle of the river

If you are visiting New York, and have the time, you should not miss a visit or at least a Ferry ride to see the statue. This iconic piece of history for America has different meanings to different people. Hope, Freedom, New Beginnings, America, and more, but most will identify it with America! Land of the Free, home of the Brave Men & Women who help protect it everyday.

One of the best experiences anybody from the free world can have. The feeling of approaching lady liberty is overwhelming. Those who say is not that big should really try some perspective and think that it was made a long time ago and in a distant land. I could only just imagine what immigrants tried of a long journey must have felt when seeing her for the very first time.

Of course this visit is a most when traveling to NY area.

I took the ferry from New Jersey (Liberty Park) which is a great idea due to the views of New York that one can enjoy not only in land but from the water too (clean of any obstacle for the photos ).

My recommendation is to arrive by 12, take some day pics from land, go and take your time to visit the two islands (please watch the statue history projection, it worths it), take more day pictures in your way, and wait until sunset to come back and, yes, take again the same pictures but now in night. You will love both.

One thing: do not eat the food that is sold in the ferry, it's not clean, not cheap and the service of that staff is... not really what we would expect from guys that live on tourism.

The parking is not free, but I paid 7 USD for all the time it took me to do the tour.

An amazing place both Liberty Island and Ellis Island. No visit to New York should happen withoit a day out to the statue.
Note that you really need a full day from a 10am boat until the last ride back.
I normally don't like Audio Tours but it is well worth it on Ellis Island.
Try to choose a clear day as the views back to Manhattan are outstanding.

Very nice, beautiful island. You can get a good 360 degree look at Lady Liberty as a path winds around the statue. There are photo services around the statue to capture your family perfectly infront of the statue. The gift shop was also extensive and full of nice goodies. Plenty of good food and tours. The ferry ride over was also very smooth. Highly recommend!
