Very nice experience ! We took the Ferry from Battery Park (make sure to arrive at least 30mn in advance - you ll have to go through the security check and the line can be long). I still felt like it was quick.
After a few minutes on the boat, we were at Liberty Island.
You can see the statue from far away !

I want to go back and spend more time there, see more. I think you can easily spend half a day there.
From Ellis Island, the boat goes back to NYC.
