Southgate Volkswagen had the car I was looking for. As my sales representative, Kris Zielinski ensured my vehicle needs were met. He knows his cars, and asked good questions to establish that all my vehicle needs were met. Even after the purchase of the car, and having it for several days, he continued to provide good service. He is a great sales representative, and I will be looking to him for any future car purchase.

When I was stuck in Rocky Mountain House and my vw suddenly wouldn t start, I called Southgate for help and advice where I might seek service in the area. The service person suggesting me towing it back to Edmonton. That is not service, nor does it show any awareness of the needs of the customer. I will NEVER take my car back to an organization like Southgate again.

Staff is very cheesy.first they told me to deposit $500 so that they will not sell this car to someone.but when my financing process was going on they sold that car to someone else.then they agreed to give me other car on same price but next day they call me that you have to pay us half of the whole maintenance of the car.they want me to pay$1000 more.then the sales guy argue with me.i finds this as a worst dealership with fudu sales guys.do not trust them.they never take stand on their words

Our last experience was no different. Our salesman Kent Astle demonstrates all the above mentioned qualities. He was knowledgeable about the vehicle no pressure sales and always responded to my questions

Buying a car at Southgate Volkswagen with Anton was by far, the best purchasing experience of a vehicle I have ever had. I have purchased many vehicles in my life, and would highly recommend Southgate VW and especially Anton. I had many other options but Anton made me choose VW.
Anton is very attentive and has such a pleasant demeanor. He listens to what you really need and he assists you with making an excellent choice. My experience was a smooth one, I highly recommend Anton to anyone who is in the market to purchase/lease a new vehicle. I must also mention that he is personable and goes above and beyond to make you a happy, satisfied customer.

I was EXTREMELY satisfied with my experience at Southgate Volkswagen. I am the proud owner of a 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan. I would not hesitate to recommend them to ALL of my friends and family. My sales consultant, Lazar Ilic, is THE BEST sales consultant that I have ever met. This guy knows his cars. He told me that the Apple CarPlay software on the Volkswagens is THE BEST of all of the SUVs, and he was right. He went ABOVE and BEYOND my expectations!!! When I got kicked out of Argyll Registry when I was trying to register my new Tiguan, I texted Lazar and asked if he could drive this directionally challenged person (me) to another Registry office. I was pressed for time, as I had agreed to help a friend out that afternoon. I was able to get everything done in time to get some pictures of me and my new snow puppy, Tigues!!! . I told him that I would need to return the next day to finish the delivery of the Tiguan, and that was no problem for them, as I had already test driven it the past weekend. Lazar also helped me get my Volkswagen City Jetta back to my house, as I did not trade it in.

I had not planned to buy an SUV at all. I test drove one, and I kind of liked it, but I have always driven manual transmissions, and the 2017 Tiguan does not come in a manual transmission. I decided to "keep looking." Before they let me leave, Tyler Nagy, the Sales Manager had a brief chat with me. Then the General Sales Manager, Ryan Mottershead, suggested that I take the Tiguan home over the weekend. I must admit that the thought of driving a new vehicle put a HUGE smile on my face!!! I indicated that I would not really have an opportunity to drive it that night, but that I would return the next day. Ryan even made me promise that I would return!!!

Of course, I returned the next day. Before I left with the Tiguan, though, I indicated that I planned to go to other dealerships. I told them that if I found a blue SUV that had a manual transmission, I would go with that. They were willing to take their chances. I think they knew that I would fall in love with the Tiguan . . . and they were right!!! I am 100%, head over heels, prime time IN LOVE with my new snow puppy. I even named him Tigues. Tigues and I are going to go on many adventures together. I LOVE the full moon roof that extends the entire length of the vehicle. Although it is November, Edmonton has had some unseasonably warm weather, so I have been using the panoramic sunroof on those bright days. The sound system is absolutely AMAZING, as I love to crank the tunes and to feel the music. People usually hear me before they see me.

I cannot say enough about my positive experience at Southgate Volkswagen. I would give them 10 stars out of 5 if I could. Lazar helped me negotiate THE BEST price, and Freddy Tajada, the Finance Manager, got me THE BEST financing rate. A huge shout out to Marvin Henschel, the General Manager, and ALL of the people behind the scenes who made this deal and the delivery of my Tiguan possible. I am an EXTREMELY satisfied customer, and I look forward to many more decades of driving Volkswagens!!!

I'm super disappointed to leave a bad review for this dealership, but even more disappointed with my experience I had at Southgate VW. I went in on a Saturday to look for cars and was quite unimpressed with the lack of knowledge about the cars and the sales process that my sales representative had. However, I had done by research prior to and already knew what I wanted so I was able to find a car that day. The buying process was difficult as the sales individual was uneducated in the steps involved. I was told I would be able to pick-up the car on Monday (two days later), so come Monday I came ready to pick-up my vehicle. My previous vehicle was sold, and the new one was registered and insured. Once I got there I was informed that the car actually was not ready and it would be another week. They gave me a loaner car but only after I convinced them that not having anything set up for me after I had already sold my previous car on assurance that my new one would be ready is unacceptable. I sat at the dealership for over an hour to get this loaner car. From there, I got a call a week later saying the car would be another week. So, two weeks later I go to pick-up my vehicle and the gas tank is less than half full and there is a dime size chip in my windshield which was discussed prior to me purchasing the car and they assured me it would be fixed. When I brought this up to Chris, he reclaimed to not remember this conversation. The rest of the vehicle turnover was just as disappointing as he couldn't answer basic questions about the vehicle and had difficulty getting me set up. Communication thereafter with the dealership has be poor and they seem unwilling to meet their customers basic needs and requirements let alone going above and beyond for a customer. Overall, just get your VW from another dealership - this dealership is not worth the hassle. Buying a new vehicle should be fun and exciting! This experience was a headache and extremely frustrating.

My appointment was originally to have a 15000 km servicing, however when they performed the tire rotation they found my brakes were seriously in need of replacement. I strongly recommend southgate as they go above and beyond to ensure your vehicle is safe for the road. After having that service and my brakes replaced, ive never felt safer in my Jetta. Stopped by today to look at a used vehicle for my son. Vehicle advertised as jetta with gas engine automatic and 121000 kms. Get there spend 20 mins walking around finding it and find a jetta with diesel engine, manual transmission, and 151000 kms. How the staff can screw up a online advertisement is beyond me. Pathetic.

Being a single woman, this is the biggest slap in ...

Being a single woman, this is the biggest slap in the face I've ever had. My drivers side sun visor fell off in my hand with regular non aggressive use. I took it in to Southgate to be covered by warranty. I was told that it appeared that the ceiling material had been removed and someone had tampered with the wiring harness underneath and it was therefore not covered by warranty. I told them nothing like that had happened. They responded that it must have been the previous owner as I had purchased it when it had 40,000 km on it. I told them it was improbable and that I didn't believe them. Why would the previous owner remove the material from the interior of the roof and tamper with the wiring harness when it was under full warranty. It didn't make any sense. The associate responded that this wasn't the original windshield and so it probably happened then. Right, because they remove the interior roof material to replace a windshield (sarcasm intended)??? He sounded like a two year old lying. After sitting there for an hour they said they could re-attach the sun visor however, it took him an hour to diagnose the fact that he was holding the visor in his hand and it was indeed not attached to the vehicle. Therefore I had to pay 160.00 for the hour long diagnosis. The punchline. I went home and reattached the visor in two minutes. I have a ten year background in auto parts. Just thought they would want to honor their warranty. Bottom line is THEY DON'T HONOR WARRANTY'S, unless you believe whatever lie they respond with. This story is true in its entirety. Needless to say, I don't trust them with pricing on repairs. Take care.

BTW they had charged me the $160.00 for the installation. I confirmed with the sales lady that they had indeed re- installed the visor so I had no choice but to pay the fee. She responded that this was correct but she would fix it. Apparently their idea of fixing it, was ripping the visor out to the point where it was damaged. It had not been damaged prior to bringing it to the dealership.

Dan Heller (sales) and Evan (finance) were awesome to deal with! What had been a stressful experience in the past was an absolute pleasure at Southgate with these two. Dan was hilarious, had a no pressure sales approach and I felt he truly had a genuine interest in helping me to find my new vehicle. Evan was thorough in explaining the warranties and ensuring my vehicle will be well protected. Overall a very professional and laid back environment. So happy to have gone with Southgate, I can't say enough great things about them. Will be recommending them to anyone I know in the market for a new vehicle. We re from the US and our AC fan gave out on our VW golf just at the end of our manufacturer s warranty. If we would have driven another 20 miles we would have been out of the warranty! We did a walk in appointment and even though they had a full day of appointments. Rhonda let us squeeze in and were very quick at finding and fixing the problem! She was so awesome! They didn t have the piece we needed in stock, but took it out of a newer model car they owned to help us out! Overall we were extremely impressed and appreciated their amazing service! 6 out of 5 stars!!!!

No complaints with Southgate VW. Scott was easy to deal with and didn t make me feel pressured like some of the other dealerships. I had to wait a bit when it came to getting all the finance paperwork done but that s to be expected as they re working below baseline with staff due to COVID.

Update:
We did initially like the service and product we received. But after so many recall issues with the vehicle, it's a little disheartening.
As well, seems like each time we take our car in for the recommended service, they couldn't be bothered to be friendly. Last two times my husband dropped the car off to be serviced and he mentioned they just rushed him along and was impatient when he tried to explain some issues pertaining to the recall notices we received from VW manufacturers.

Had a great experience dealing with Nicky. He was very patient and knowledgeable and explained everything to us thoroughly. We weren't looking to buy a car that day but ended up signing papers cause we were happy with the experience and the vehicle that was suggested for our family's needs.

Also...Evan...the finance director was just as warm and friendly and personable. He patiently explained everything to us and we just picked up our new 2018 Tiguan yesterday and everyone was just as great!!!!!
I'd recommend Southgate VW if you're looking to buy a car. Great service and beautiful products!

Horrible experience, if we weren't in a time crunch I would have went elsewhere.
From a hidden costs just under $2000!! And being told those cost are standard on all vehicles but not added on the price ?so if this is a standard cost on ALL vehicles as I was told how can it not be included in the price? ! Coming back a few days later to finalize the deal and talk about the hidden add on, not only did my sales guy not show up, the sales manager wouldn't come talk to me ! I had to deal with a random sales guy! Beyond unprofessional (They gave me a $300 service credit for the added cost) I agreed to get my vehicle a 3 days later so there was no more hiccups and all add on's can be done... Only to be told the day of pick up I had to bring it back the following week to get the starter in ! I Had appointment for starter install at 7:30am told me it would take a few hours . After not hearing from them all morning. I called at 12
and was told they needed two more hours ! Went to pick it up @2:00 and they told me they needed it for another hour and a half ! This was the breaking point for me. The deal is done and nothing I can do. But I will never take my car here for service or suggest anyone going here ! To say this whole experience with Southgate has left a sour taste in my mouth would be an understatement!

My husband and I were in search for a fuel friendly vehicle as I do a lot of highway driving. Jackson helped us find the perfect 2013 Jetta TDI, after only test driving a few vehicles. He was so helpful and knowledgeable, he is seriously a Volkswagen encyclopedia! We can t thank Jackson, Mike and Veer enough for making this the smoothest car buying experience ever (honestly)! I am a bit picky and had lots of questions, and everyone was very very patient and helpful and wanted me to be very comfortable. I live outside Edmonton and Dan responded very quickly (immediately!) to all my requests and connected me to the others who always returned by emails, texts and phone calls. A really great team of experienced and thoughtful people.

Best service ever! I was worried about getting my car fixed since you go in for one thing and you find out 10 things were wrong. Southgate VW were super friendly and helpful. Ryan explained and helped me understand what was wrong and what they fixed. Even as I was waiting for my vehicle to finish there was a customer who was less than savory. I was amazed at how professional the staff where when this customer was completely rude. There was no reason this person had to be degrading to the staff. After dealing with it Ryan was able to bounce back to me clam and collective. Thanks for the excellent customer service.

Our salesman Tye was excellent to deal with, no pressure or sales tactics. He was very helpful, knowledgeable about the vehicles and had no problem showing us all the cars we requested. I felt he was able to get us the most for our trade and the best price on the 2018 Golf Highline. Nicky in finance was also great, ended up getting the extended warranty but he worked with us on the price.

The good: salesperson went above and beyond when we were looking at the vehicle we ended up buying, we got a good price on a used VW, car was cleaned perfectly when I picked it up, Evan in finance was wonderful to deal with.

The not so good: we were disappointed that the car only came with 1/4 tank of gas when we picked it up after buying it, apparently that is their standard with buying a CPO vehicle? Also, the free oil change we were told we would be given was actually just the oil change they did a month before we even looked at the car on their lot (as per the sales manager), not super impressed with that side of the dealership but we have yet to have a 10/10 experience at any dealership we have bought vehicles from, also the sales managers tried to add in extra fees/admin fees to our sale that aren t actually mandatory and that was really annoying to have to ask them to remove

Fantastic Experience!

I just purchased a used F150 from Southgate VW, I live down in the states and but wanted to take advantage of the exchange rate. I was a little nervous about the whole thing, since I would be buying a vehicle sight unseen. I first inquired about the truck at 8pm a couple days before Christmas and Dan Heller was quick to answer all of my questions. From then on Dan was my man! Dan's approach to the sale was perfect, he was never the "pushy" or "slimy" sales guy and was prompt in responding. Though he did not have any previous experience exporting a car to the states, he took the time to make sure it was ready and that the dealership would do everything on their end to help me out.

When I flew up to pick the truck up, they were ready. The car was exactly as was depicted in the advertisement and what was conveyed in the conversations! Dealing with honest people is refreshing! The car is flawless and thanks to the hard work of Dan Heller and Diedra Guerin (finance) I am now the proud owner of a 2013 F150!

I would not hesitate to recommend Southgate VW to anybody! If you are in the market, Dan is man!

If you are looking for a service manager that does...

If you are looking for a service manager that doesn't care to return your calls, lies to you, and doesn't even order the right vehicle for you go to Southgate Volkswagen! My salesman quit part way through getting my SUV and nobody informed me and after that everything seemed to go wrong. And when I went in to complain about the customer service I had been getting I was told I had the option to take my business else where. So I did. They didn't even once try and stop me and never seemed to even care that I was treated so poorly. In my opinion, go to Norden Volkswagen. Way better customer service and better prices.
