went there to have my car serviced,Mary and Ryan were very rude and over billed me,I understand that they have to up sell ,but charging $32.50 for shop supplies is outrageous and just an insult to the costumers intelligence. I doubt that management will do something about it ,they are benefiting as well from all this.
I would give a ten star if I could, Kris Zielinski in sales gave me the absoulte best deal I could find, I did shop around but nothing compared to the quality of service they gave me! Our experience with Jackson was exceptional. Then again, we came in knowing what we specifically wanted. He respected this and did not attempt to over sell or sell us 'something else' a little more expensive. I really appreciated this. His approach is in severe contrast with that of the stereo type car salesman that my generation falls back upon. I especially appreciated his low key manner and should the need arise, going elsewhere to find out the answer to one of our questions. I understand why his desk is closest to the door to greet customers. Good choice.

A greasy desperate used car lot dressed up in a prettier package -- they use the same abhorrent tactics and nonsense though. They have some older salesman named Al Rhodes there who is as slippery and greasy as they come.
I wouldn't recommend anyone go to this place, especially if they are not accustomed to dealing with con artists.
I can not thank everyone enough for the wonderful experience! I bought a 2019 Jetta last night. I have never been to a dealership, never financed a car before. Let me tell you this was the most pleasant experience ever. From the sale rep Dan to the finance reps and everyone in between, it was a great experience. Not once did I feel pressured or pushed, I had the general manager come up and introduce himself to me and welcome me to the Volkswagen family. My sales rep Dan was funny and patient and walked me through everything. Veer and Nikky were wonderful getting my financing approved and at a low interest rate. Sorry Veer for bursting into tears and sobbing on the phone when you told me I was approved. Honestly if your looking for a new car this is a dealership that cares. No pushy salespeople trying to push you into a new car your not sure about. They tell you to take your time and be sure of your purchase. I knew more about the car I was interested in before I decided I was getting it. I was shown the car fax I was shown the inspection report the specs the safety. Dan was amazing. I purchased a 2009 jetta diesel from Southgate VW recently. The salesman was easy pleasant to do business with. However I have to say I am a bit disappointed with southgate VW, as I discovered that the wheel lock key was missing from the car. I sent an email to the salesman regarding this issue and it was never answered. You would think that during an inspection this would have been at least noted - luckily I did not find this out on the side of the highway with a flat tire. I also have to say that I am quite disappointed with VW as a whole regarding the emissions scandal. I have a few symptoms that I have been told by several VW mechanics are due to the emissions update - the most annoying one is how jerky the car is in 3rd and 4th gear (manual transmission). Not something I ever expected from a VW.

I purchased a Vehicle a used Jetta here one year ago. When I purchased it I was told the vehicle was accident free. 7 months later I had an accident and discovered there were 3 prior accidents on the vehicle when I took it in to be repaired. I contacted the dealership about the issue and while speaking with one of the managers I learnt the salesman who sold me the vehicle had been let go so I thought his act did not reflect on the rest of the dealership. I then waited to hear from the dealership. When they go back to me I asked for a buy back of the vehicle since selling a vehicle without disclosing it's real history is illegal in Alberta for dealerships but they said they are not willing to do anything. I now have AMVIC involved and they are helping me to settle this matter.

The team at Southgate made the process so smooth and painless! Rod Tchir was our salesman for both cars. It was awesome dealing with Rod! In the past, buying a new car has always been a stressful process, but not with Rod. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about Volkswagen cars, and it shows. Being a car geek myself, I appreciated that Rod was able to answer my questions confidently.
Going in with "less than perfect" credit, I expected a hard time dealing with Finance, but the team at Southgate were very professional and flexible. There was never a time when we felt like we were being lied to or manipulated into agreeing to or signing anything.

I felt the sales specialist, Hassan, very helpful and went out of his way to ensure I was happy with my purchase and that everything went smoothly. I was not very impressed with the sales manager who came across as manipulative trying to add costs without me noticing. I also felt that the financing person I was dealing would tell me what I wanted to hear when she didn't know the answers to my questions.

I had a terrible experience. I had walked in to get different prices on vehicle financing. Said that the moment i walked in, to the Salesman Brandon. I had mentioned that to him 10+ times. He never got the memo. Made me very uncomfortable how i was treated there. He tried very hard to close a deal, kept coming back with new prices and got it down to a price point where i would've loved to close the deal. But like i had mentioned, i was there for PRICING not to close a deal right away. When i asked for my keys back after getting a trade-in valued, he came back with new prices instead but all i wanted was my keys. I will never go back to this dealership again. Very uncomforting. I had even made an appointment to go in with a friend of mine, ended up changing my mind and told Brandon that i had found another vehicle that has suited my needs. To this day he STILL messages me and calls me on the vehicles i had looked at asking if i want to buy or if i he can get me a better deal than i had just found. HE IS TOO PUSHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've dealt with Aaron Krusch on numerous occasions and can definitely say that you will for sure be 100% taken care of. I was offered a fair amount for my trade in (high end of black book value) and the sale price of the vehicle I purchased was also excellent. Extremely professional and not greasy at all. If you find a better deal somewhere else, just bring it to Aaron and he will try his best to beat. Any promises made were always carried through. Would definitely buy again!

Avoid this place at all costs. I bought an SUV for my wife here, the sales staff were decent and helpful. No issues with them what so ever. The service staff area bunch of scammers, who will nickle and dime you for everything. Routine inspections are overpriced here. And they Dont respond to emergency or urgent situations at all. Completely unprofessional.

If you need to buy a car it is worth your time to go see Ryan Mottershead and Kris. They went above and beyond for us in our car shopping experience. Made every part of it enjoyable and stress free. Unfortunately experience was not very good. Car was delivered with two deficiencies (sunroof not working + chromes were damaged and needed replacement). This took 4 and 3 months to be solved respectively. The bill of sale said the car had 90 km, when it had >400... When they tell you these issues at the very time of delivery, when you have already gave up your old car, you do not have much options. If you do not want "that" car, it will be a few days without car.
Another source of deep discontent is that when you buy the care they explicitly explain (with a lot of emphasis) than during services they will let you a courtesy car that is the same model than your car (very important when you buy a big car to fit your family). This has not been the case in 2/3 services we needed (we got a much smaller car in which we cannot fit all the family).
In summary, unexpected low quality service. Very sorry to say
I will start off by saying we shopped around at all three local Volkswagen dealerships.The best experience by far was Southgate. There was no pressure tactics and nothing but professionalism.We were greeted by Jackson who guided us through the buying experience.It was my wife s first brand new vehicle and they went above and beyond.
The other dealerships were more concerned with smack talking and not delivering on the promised low prices.Southgate were upfront and straightforward in all aspects.We would highly recommend them and love the new VW golf.We will definitely return when we upgrade our older Jetta next year.

If you notice, the majority of the low ratings happened over a year ago. This Southgate VW Service department is by FAR the best in the city and has clearly improved their service. Norden is over-priced and unhelpful.
My first visit to Southgate (which was when I made the switch) was because my sunroof would not close. Norden told me they could get me in 2 days from now and Southgate told me to come on down and they'd squeeze me in. I mean honestly, what if it rained in the next 2 days and there's me with my sunroof wide open?
My second visit was for a headlight replacement. They took care of the issue, no problem, and completed the service in record time.
My third visit is coming up, and I anticipate great results. I phoned Southgate to see who they recommend for windshield replacement... turns out they take care of it for you! Much better than the answer I received at Norden ("Oh, we'll have to send you to another provider for that").
Completely satisfied with the friendly, efficient, customer service. Not to mention the staff are easy on the eyes.
