Awesome experience! I had issues with my car and took it in to the service department. Technicians constantly updated me with what was going on. When i got my car back they had washed it and the interior was cleaned.

They love dealing with customers almost as much as they like attempting to rip them off. I was lowballed by about 3 g on a trade in there. It was my first foray in the trade-in side of things and I figured I would go to my dealership with whom I have a decent relationship. One of there sales manager guys, Sash I believe, quickly reminded me (in a roundabout way) that there is no relationship between VW and me. There are only sharks and prey.
I was in for service yesterday (Monday), sitting in the upstairs mezzanine waiting. I must commend the patience and professionalism of the service team. The young lady in service, along with her manager handled an unreasonable, rude and disrespectful customer extremely well. I have to admit, I feel this customer spoke to them the way he did because they are women, and that is unacceptable in this day and age, and I really feel that he was aggressive and out of line.
After working for years in customer service myself , I think people often forget that in order to receive the best customer service possible, they have to start by being a good customer!

This was my first experience purchasing a new car. After many weeks of research and test drives at many dealerships of various manufacturers I was interested in I settled on purchasing a Volkswagen Tiguan. The car is amazing and I couldn't be more happy with my decision. That being said it was time to to select the dealership to purchase from as this was very important also as after car care is very important also. Well I made the right choice going with Southgate Volkswagen. I was even more lucky to be paired up with Jackson. He was great to deal with and he was super accommodating as far as test driving the possible vehicles I was demoing for the day. When I bought my jetta I thought i was getting a premium vehicle. I have not gone to VW once for a service without them telling me that something was wrong with the vehicle. I have owned the vehicle for over 2 years now and I have put thousands of dollars in repairs into it.
At this location I have made appointments to have an oil change done a few times. Everytime I make an appointment and thought it would be pretty quick to do an oil change so I have always stayed. I was there today, it took over almost an hour and a half, last time was over 2 hours. When i got the bill the said that my right CV boot needed to be replaced, i said I was just here 2 years ago and had both the right and left CV boot replaced at this dealership and paid over $1000. This is now broken and needs to be replaced again? The quality of the parts are terrible and now i need to replace the exact same part that i fixed 2 years ago. I thought by going to the dealership that I would be getting premium parts and service and that is definitely not what I am getting. I will never by another VW again and the service/troubleshooting I have had has been terrible.

I had the worst experience at this dealership s Service Department yesterday. If my vehicle hadn t just ran out of warranty I would have traded in my vehicle at a different dealership and never returned to VW. Great product, terrible service.
I called a week ago, I booked my car in for a service, I confirmed the price - which I wrote down and put in my phone. Then I had something else happen and I called to see if they could do the service (installing a piece of vent glass) while they did the other service. I was told they had to order the part and I had to pay for that part up front and they would install it. *minor annoyance is that they wouldn t take a credit card over the phone (I m told this is because of fraud) but it s still annoying as a consumer.
I get to my appointment at 930. The service person is going over the cost of the service I booked which is now different than what the person on the phone told me. VW comps the price to what I was told on the phone. Fine. But when I call for a price, VW should be telling me what the ENTIRE cost of the booking. I proceed to say well you guys are supposed to also install a piece of glass that was ordered last week. There s no notes about this. Fine. I expected my service to be a total of about 3 hours, that s what I was told when I called - including the glass install. After an hour I asked if there was a courtesy vehicle - which I didn t not book in advance - I was told there might be. After a while one became available and I was then told the part that should have been ordered a week ago, wasn t in yet. I confirmed that this would be done by the end of the day and was told yes.
I go back to the dealership at 330 because nobody had called me and I figured I d just wait there for an hour, no big deal. Then I m told that my car isn t at the dealer because VW s third party is installing the glass and now it s a bigger job than they thought it would be because they have to take the door off. This is where my major problems come in:
1. I told VW when I booked the service what happened with the glass. I told them it was shattered I received the following response on the phone: well depending on your vehicle we might have to take the door off. My answer was: can I just tell you the type of vehicle? VW response: we know what the vehicle is. So I gave them all the information when I booked it.
2. NOBODY AT VW told me they were going to get a 3rd party to replace the glass. Had I known that I would have went elsewhere and simply ordered the part from VW; because when I called the third party glass installer they told me it was a dealer part. Sure they added a service that I had booked for a different day to this catastrophe, at a slightly lower price but to me, that s not good enough.
3. NOBODY at VW told me that this was going to be a multi day project. Because now I don t get my vehicle back until Monday. AND because VW had, without informing me, sent my car else where to get repaired - I didn t even have my house keys. So then I had to drive an hour round trip to get my spare keys. So sure, I have a courtesy vehicle but now I m driving around because I wasn t prepared for this gong show, spending money on gas because I m going to have to fill this vehicle back up when I return it. I understand that sure, fill it up because you leisurely drove around, but I m filling it up because of VWs mistakes.
I have never felt more misled and frustrated with a dealership in my entire life. All they want to do is nickel and dime you. I will never return once I get my vehicle back.

I just purchased a used classic car from Southgate VW but we live 300 kms away so this made a difficult situation for information, history, trust and honesty plus negotiation s. Alice took everything one step at a time making sure that I was comfortable and ready to take next step. Her honesty shined through and trust grew over 4 days as I always seemed to have just one more question. Yesterday I drove up to Edmonton after leaving a fully refundable deposit to inspect and test drive the car which is a 1990 Jaguar XJS coupe with a V12 engine known for having issues. The car was exactly how Alice told me it was, and she was waiting for me to come in on her day off. What she didn t know about the car she found out and her husband Chris was a mechanic in Poland and offered a helping hand which made me feel very good about the car. Thank you to Alice and Chris and also to Nicky in the business office for his help as I had Southgate name wrong on my bank draft. I highly recommend and appreciate the treatment and concern that I received including a follow up call today from Alice making sure I got home safety and problem free. Save your self some money and avoid this dealership if you need your car serviced.They have the worse service advisors I ever dealt with ,Ryan and Mary need to go for a costumer service training before they loose too many costumers.They quote you for something on the phone and once you get there you end up paying for services you did not agreed..Managers are too busy to deal with costumers ,but power of social media shouldn't be underestimated! They call me back to ask me if I can change my review.. the manager is definitely not fit for the position!

I brought my 2014 Jetta for service specifically to check the clutch as I was experiencing some resistance going into first gear. Their investigation was that due to my driving habits the clutch is wearing out prematurely and needs to be replaced and not related to warranty. I drove 18 wheelers and BTrains for a living and I can wear out a clutch in 38000 km. I took the car in to Eurasia to have the clutch replaced. Eurasia just informed me that the clutch is barely used and does not require replacement.
Is this how Southgate VW attract business? You will never see me or my car or my money.
