I received a recall notice in regards to my Beetle...

I received a recall notice in regards to my Beetle, contacted the service department to schedule it. The service coordinator was unpleasant to book with and seemed very upset when I double check they were open Easter Monday (I mentioned it was a holiday as that day was offered as an appointment and was told that, "Yeah, it's not for us and we're actually ope.n" in an aggravated tone.) I then asked how long was needed for the repair and was quoted 1.5 total hours for both the repair and for the oil change to be completed, as well as an investigation into an electrical issue.

When I brought my vehicle in, I found out that the vehicle was actually scheduled for 4 hours as there were multiple recalls. The tech was surprised I didn't know and hadn't been informed. This turned into an overnight appointment which happens due to parts and this part was well communicated. When I picked up my vehicle, I was informed they had found the issue to my electrical problem and fixed it. What I wasn't told was that fixing the issue involved unplugging my car starter and not notifying me. When I finally reached the service department to question whether the "fix" was disconnecting my starter the service agent told me yeah, that's how they fixed it. I asked why I wasn't informed and got an oh well you should have been and when I pressed further was finally told they believe the car starter needs to be replaced and sorry you weren't told that. Overall, fairly disappointed with this location as I've had great service at other VW's.

Decided to get my 2018 Tiguan, serviced from South...

Decided to get my 2018 Tiguan, serviced from Southgate Volkswagen. When I purchased the car the sales manager and other staff informed us that the vehicle needs to be serviced every 15,000 KM. I sent it in for a service at 13,000km and after my service I drove the vehicle 5,000km, normal day to day city driving. The vehicle kept saying "low oil" and when I got it checked out from my mechanic he told me that the previous service provider put less oil. When I called Southgate Volkswagen the manager Ronda argued with me over the phone that my vehicle needs to be serviced every 7500km when the VW Canada website and owners manual clearly states 15,000km. I wasted my money and time with VW Southgate and received 1 litre of free oil after being argued with on the phone to pay for it. Ronda was one of the rudest people I've ever had to deal with, zero to none professionalism and when I asked to submit a complaint I was bluntly denied and was told to find a number online and make a complaint. I will never be bringing my vehicle here again and I would recommend to everybody not to waste there money at this unprofessional and coward place.

Love my new Volkswagen Atlas! I am Very happy with My car sales person Veer, he was understanding, no pressure and easy to talk to. I was stressed and not easy going during negotiations and Veer handled it well. Nicky in finance was also great I was happy with my interest rate and I appreciate him for communicating with my insurance company on my behalf to get the proper paperwork processed 30 mins before my company closed. I should have come in earlier to get the insurance, registration and papers signed before other businesses closed.
Buying a new car was a big decision for my family we had looked at many different 7 passenger vehicles over the past few months and the Atlas was the only one we could agree on.

We recently purchased a 2018 Atlas at this location. We had the best experience at this location and out of any dealership we have ever worked with. The dealership went above and beyond to help us into a new vehicle and absolutely loved the customer service. The manager, Mike, was fantastic to deal with and our salesman, Dan, was knowledgeable and quirky. I would recommend working with both these fantastic humans.

Extremly high prices compared with other VW dealerships , transmission fluid is $48 a litre comparing with $32 at the dealership on the north side .. the service department is a place you want to avoid , high markups and selling unnecessary packages , the lady there gets offensive if you question the high prices .BEWARE!!!!!!

Just did my winter tire swap on both my Audi and Porsche within a week. Everything went very smooth although the service department is busy due to winter tire season. Service advisor Rhonda was able to book my car in with a short notice. She is very professional and easy to deal with and quality of service work is excellent as always. Highly recommended!

Got my oil change done there. The staff was impolite, disrespectful and rude (for lack of better decent word). Left my feedback for service manager Holly Unger. She called me and without even asking me, started saying its like this n that because of covid. During 3 minute conversation she said covid at least 15 times. I guess covid took away their ability to be polite n respectful. After speaking to her, I feel its a culture at that place.

My advise to "people of color", stay away from this place. You can pay to get service at another dealership but respect should come free.

P.s no I don't want to call 8888 n discuss it further. Learnt my lesson.

Absolutely fantastic dealership. The Sales staff were courteous, quick to respond and not pushy at all in their tactics. They were fair and open during the entire process and really made the buying experince enjoyable. After I got my vehicle there were some small issues I noticed and the dealership took care of it without any questions whatsoever. The Service team are super knowledgebale and helpful and I would absolutely reccomend this dealership to anyone looking for a new vehicle

I purchased a pre-owned Ford from this location in January, 2020 and have nothing but positive things to say about my experience!

Pricing was extremely fair (I did my research prior) and each member of the team that I've encountered was accommodating and straight forward.

If you are looking for a knowledgeable, honest, and non-pushy person in sales to talk to - Mike Gaudet is your guy. He is a great listener and will address your questions and concerns without making you feel like 'he's in it to close a deal'. He didn't try to sway me towards looking at other cars, was a great listener when I was describing what I was looking for, and gave me his opinion without stating is as 'fact'. This was a big contrast to a recent experience while helping a relative buy a Subaru back in December...

Charissa in finance is another extremely personable and very experienced individual. With 10+ years in vehicle financing, she knew exactly what she was doing and was able to break everything down step-by-step and address each and every question I had with a more than satisfactory response.

Whether you are looking for a VW or not, I would strongly suggest this dealership.

DO NOT EVER BUY A USED VEHICLE HERE!!! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE;

I purchased a 2013 mini-cooper from Southgate Volkswagen from Justin King on October 9, the start of the purchase was very easy and felt very painless. We went back and forth with the additional items i wanted on my new car (Winter Studded tires, and a remote car starter) we negotiated and finally met a price I was happy with. (I thought "Wow this is tooo easy") I went and signed the bill of sale and left a deposit for the car I went met with Freddy a finance guy arranged that i would be coming to pick the car up on the following Tuesday October 13 around 3-4pm(After Thanksgiving I had to wait on my bank to transfer the funds)

When Tuesday rolled around, I left work early to go to the bank for the cheque. I had a voicemail from Aaron (? could be a different name) at 3pm calling about the remote starter. I called him right before i was going into the bank for my appointment to get the money. He advised me that the car starter was going to cost more than they had put on the bill of sale and that i could either pay the difference or i could get the remote starter removed and they would take 1,000 off. I told him that I don't want the car if that was the case, he told me he would look into it more and let me know. I was then sitting in front of my bank teller about to get the cheque and he called back to tell me that there had been a communication error and they gave me the wrong price, once again i told him i was about to get the cheque to drop off and how could they promise a remote starter and then go back on their word... He said he would call me back AGAIN after he looked into it more. He then called back and said he would offer the price that we had signed on and they would install the car starter. I had to BOOK another bank appointment and miss ANOTHER day of work to get this organized. They advised me that it would take longer for the car started to get installed and they would let me know when it was going to get done.

On Thursday (October 15th) i dropped the money off (silly me) i spoke with Tammy who is ABSOLUTELY awesome. She answered all my unknown questions, told me that she was away on Friday and that someone would call me on Friday to let me know when it was done. She said it would most likely be Freddy. Friday rolls around and i hadn't heard anything from southgate at 10am i called and left a voicemail on Freddy's phone, then two hours go by i called again it went to voicemail again, I then emailed, and emailed the group email that they had sent me to confirm about the car starter. I finally get an email back on Saturday telling me that there was an issue and "I think it is in the shop getting installed" This gones on for all of saturday until around 6pm i finally get a call saying that it is complete and i can pick the car up on MONDAY because they do not have detailers in till then.

On monday I go to pick my car up, I meet with Justin and they takes me back to Tammys office. As i am about to enter Tammys office; Justin says to me "oh btw we couldn't get your tires studded but they are better than what you were going to get" at which point i say "Are you F***King kidding me? This all sale of this car has been a god dam nightmare." I spoke with Tammy told her what had happened and she goes and solves my issues they eventually get the tires i asked for studded and all is well... OR So I thought.

3 days later.... I get a light turn on that says "SERVICE OVER DUE" it is the oil. I check the dipstick and the oil is Black as hell. I am now in the process of finding out what the hell is going on, if the other fluids have even been checked. I am not stuck with a large bill getting a dealership to tell me what all needs to fixed because Southgate Volkswagen didn't do a MAINTENANCE CHECK LIKE THEY SAID THEY DID.

Excellent customer service in every single aspect. Aaron K (our salesman) has treated us the best way possible and the finance department person that we dealth with (Seth) treated us just as well as Aaron... if you ask me, I will recomend these two guys blindfolded. Now is regards to the dealership itslef, complete showroom if you want to take a look at all the models, very friendly personnel in general. If you are looking for a VW, go there, you will not regret it!!

Everytime I set foot in Southgate Volkswagen the entire team goes above and beyond to make me feel welcome and taken care of. The service team is always honest and fair, especially with my last service there, I had tires swapped, a regular scheduled service and a recall done and it was such an easy process. My family owns 2 Volkswagens and would never trust anyone else to do the work on them. We buy all our tires from their parts department, those guys really know their stuff and they usually have the cutest VW swag to buy when we go in! The dealership is following the protocols around Covid and it feels clean and safe there. Overall we highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking to service. buy parts or purchase a car. I am not one to hand out 5 stars - I feel there is always room for improvement but this dealership has earned it!!! Keep up the good work!!!

10/10 satisfaction. I was shopping around for a vehicle and found other dealerships frustrating as the salespersons tended to be pushy.

At SouthGate Volkswagen, the sales team, particularly Aaron, were knowledgeable, extremely helpful & friendly & CLASSY. I, at no point, felt like I was being pushed or forced to buy a VW. Instead, I was told all I needed to know and asked & was able to make the decision on my own without any pressure.

I love my VW Golf. I definitely recommend SouthGate VW, especially Aaron in sales & Evan in Finance!

I just want to applaud Ace Hassani for such wonderful service, Ace walked me through purchasing a 2013 Ford Edge sport step by step, sending me pictures/videos detailing everything I needed to see, it s almost as if I was there in person. I stayed all the way in Toronto and felt satisfied enough to make the purchase with his help without having any doubts. He outlined everything, I had no regrets flying out there on March 13th 2020 and drove back to Toronto with nothing but smiles, feeling 100% satisfied. My husband and I bought our first ever new car here, and my dream car of a Volkswagen Beetle. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and the negotiations we asked for were met on top of them getting us a remote start included. We had been to other dealerships and they were always nice but we really felt they went above and beyond here in friendliness, affordability, and care. Our gorgeous orange beetle works great and they made sure it was clean and that we knew all the features and how they worked before we left even after we had done a test drive. We 100% would recommend this location and the staff Anton, Veer and Nicki as they were all very helpful, energetic and made us feel very at ease and we never felt pushed around or forced into a sale. They also bought both our old cars and saved us selling them ourselves for the same price, so we were able to get lower on our deal and get rid of two very old cars. Overall exceptional service!

Today I called and spoke to the parts department, I was looking to get the size of the sway bar bushings on my car that I purchased from there and bring there for services. I gave them my info and they pulled my car up but were unable to tell me the size . My boyfriend then calls and was able to get the size no problem. I don t know if this guy was just being lazy or sexist but it cost you a sale. I was in the night before fully prepared to buy a new car. Won t be happening now. I ll be going to Norden from now on for all my services.

I had a couple of very good experiences at Southgate Volkswagen. The service department did a great job of informing me of what was going on with my car and it was ready when they said it was going to be ready! Everything was done right. When it came time to trade in my car they very honest and upfront with everything. No 4-square sales tactics, no pressure, just straight numbers you can get your head around. A good deal is when you can walk away satisfied with what you got without regrets. I ll say that I got a great deal and won t hesitate to go back when my car needs some VW love. I would recommend this dealership to anyone.

He goes out of his way to make you feel important and that you matter. Most car sales places I feel like I'm just a sale and I do not get that when dealing with Aaron! It was a great experience. Kris bent over backwards to accommodate our whines or thoughts on vechiles.

The only thought we had is that it would have been great for Kris to ensure that he understood what what we needed. Where we looking for - safety? Fuel economy? Space to transport stuff, for instance.

Again Kris went above and beyond to make it a great experience and we would not hesitate to refer him over and over. Kris is a phenomenal guy with an gracious personality.

Terrible service. I came in with an issue of the b...

Terrible service. I came in with an issue of the battery needing to be boosted to start. They charged 3000 to replace the alternator plus two radiator fans. One day later, I have the same issue and take it back in. They offer to replace the battery for an additional 300 dollars with labor, (another diagnostic fee of 50 dollars), and two days of service. The vehicle has now been in service for 4 days total to fix the issue of the battery needing to be boosted to start it. Total cost is over 3300 dollars or more than 10% of the total cost of the vehicle. 2006 VW jetta.

Think about the life of your vehicle. All salesman will be cordial when they want to sell you a vehicle. The service department is not only incompetent (three hours of labor time to replace a battery) but rude when addressing customers on the phone. Upon phoning the volkswagen Canada about the issue, the agent concurred that there was an issue with workmanship on the part of the service department.

Keep your distance from this dealership or you may be faced with paying 10% of the total cost of the vehicle on your next service appointment.

Edit: Went back in on 3-Nov-2012 to take a look at at 2013 golf GTI despite the terrible service dept. Upon making an offer to get the ball rolling, a young, cocky, arrogant manager(Josh Field) remarked that we wasted his time and sarcastically said thanks for coming in. I hopped back into my car, drove to Norden, and purchased the GTI from them on the same day.

Sorry Raymond, you lost your first sale due to irresponsible, and atrociously bad management.

Moral of the story: Need to a buy a VW in the city of Edmonton? Go to Norden and save yourself some trouble.

First thing I would like to say is...

I wish the app would allow me to rate more then 5 star. I bought a 2019 BMW X3. I have been researching this vehicle for a while and knew what the market price should be. I worked on the numbers with Dan Heller and Jonathan (sales manager) and was surprised we were able to agree on a price that was below market value. They were easy to work with and after I test drove the X3, I noticed a potential (minor) issue with the brakes. Without hesitation Jonathan offered to fix the issue without changing the agreed price. They replaced 2 faulty rotors ($850 +labour) Given the current COVID pandemic,they were able to source the parts in a timely manner and got the vehicle ready for pick up. They also priced matched the 3M and ceramic coating from a shop in Calgary. All in all I will recommend this place to everyone I know.

To help you better understand. I visited several dealerships during my vehicle search. Everytime I would speak to the "others" it was like nails on a chalkboard. The staff at the "other" places were quite pushy and stuck up. I left those dealership feeling anxious and greasy. It was so bad that I almost stopped looking at vehicles from dealerships.

Hands down. This dealership has a great sales and financing staff. The atmosphere and all around feeling was quite enjoyable. I'm truly happy with my purchase and would do it all again in the future.

After a long search for a pre-owned vehicle, I was glad to happen across Kent Astle at Southgate VW. Kent was very patient and helpful without being pushy...so not the typical sales guy! I have recommended Kent to friends because I trust that they will be in good hands! Also, bought a pre-owned VW and found that Southgate VW was diligent on making all necessary repairs/touch-ups to the vehicle from their initiative before the sale was finalized. Very much appreciated and thanks!

Southgate and VW Canada do NOT honor the TDI emissions warranty. They will use any excuse to bill the customer and void the warranty. I would avoid this dealer and VW products in general. The company is rotten to the core.

John the salesman was very accommodating and yet never pushy. The other John the manager was very straight forward. None of us had to beat around the bushes. I test drove a couple of cars and ended up bought one in about an hour total time it took. Yes, I made an offer and got a fair discount.
When I pick up the car nextday. I was totally impressed that Southgate VW gave me a new wind shield, because the was a chip that I didn't even noticed, plus a set of relatively new summer tires on wheels that I also didn't know come with the car.
That is like getting $3000 of extra stuff right there. Thank you guys.

This review is for the service department. I dropped off my 2015 Jetta for a couple MIL s. Staff are friendly and courteous when they greet you. I described every issue to my service advisor and left my car with them. The next day I received a quote for every possible issue that they thought to be wrong. I opted for the more expensive repair to ensure everything was dealt with. I picked up my car and a couple days later one of the issues was back. I paid for a certified master tech to work on my car and they ensured me the issues would be resolved. They were not.

Be careful when getting when getting your car repaired here. They will take advantage of you and double charge you. The issue that I have could ve been fixed in minutes had they done it when everything was apart the first time. Do the job properly the first time. Don t throw parts at people s vehicles expecting it to fix every issue.

Abdo Jomha made our experience at Southgate Volkswagen, exceptional!

The day finally arrived when we were ready to visit dealerships in search of the first car for our very excited 16 year old daughter.
As a responsible learning experience our daughter will be required to help pay for her car and therefore we wanted her to fully understand the process and the associated costs.

After we introduced ourselves to Abdo Jomha and explained our plan, he immediately made our daughter feel comfortable and part of the entire experience. He quickly identified what was important to her which were the cosmetics; and for us, safety features and a comfortable budget that she could afford.

Abdo was the reason we chose Southgate Volkswagen. He was professional, knowledgeable and very respectful. Our daughter will always have fond memories about the day she purchased her first car.

I was fortunate enough to meet Habib who was very respectful and made my car buying experience one that I will not soon forget. He is fairly knew to the dealership but I was taken aback by his knowledge in regards to the Volkswagen Tiguan that I ended up purchasing. Would highly recommend him to anyone in the market for a vehicle, Thanks Habib :)
