With there barely being anybody here due to rioting and COVID-19 you would think a couple hour late check out wouldn't be a big deal but there more than willing to leave you in the lobby or at the airport longer than need be. Pretty disappointed but I am too tired to fight for it. Also no cellphone signal and have to either pay 14-18$ a day for internet or go to the lobby to make calls and order food and rooms are pretty old

My favorite hotel in Sac downtown. Rooms need an upgrade. They opened a new lounge for elite members. I have been staying at this hotel for the past 2.5yrs and the staff is very friendly.
Update (2/5/20): Got upgraded to a suite this time. Added picture of the living room. Loved my suite.
The visit was for a meeting. There were minor maintenance issues but the room was comfortable and service friendly. The food the hotel provided for the meeting was very tasty. Internet access costs $14.95 per night unless you're a member of Starwood Preferred Guest or your conference has included it in the contract. It worked well.
We got to the hotel at a quarter to 4 and our rooms were not ready. They said they would call us and let us know when both rooms were ready. At 6:20 they still hadn't called so we went back to the hotel and only one Room was ready. We had an appointment at 6:30 until 9:30. when we got back The other Room was finally ready. They comped us breakfast but this is absolutely ridiculous! They said that VIP's had late check out. So apparently if you are a VIP you can check out late and it stops somebody that's checking in from being able to check in until 6:30 at night. Would never stay here again!
Nice hotel and great location for the convention center. The Capitol is also walking distance as are lots of places to eat and drink. The only issue is that the elevator gets crowded when large groups get out of meetings or from the convention center at the same time. If your get a room on a lower floor you can take the stairs and save a ton of time waiting for an elevator that might be full.
Pretty nice for a Sheraton. Seems to have been modernized compared to some of the others I've visited. Location is central to a lot of stuff including all of the shops and restaurants on K street. It's also right next to the convention center which is really nice if you need to do anything over there.
Clean and well manicured hotel. Service issues prevent it from getting a better review. Not prepared for the large number of incoming guests, as check-in was uncomfortably long. No follow up when we requested a rollaway bed. Housekeeping however was excellent.
They served you water during the test off format that we have done. It was very pretty and it felt grand so I guess they have that going for them. There's no reception in the convention area we were located in though.
Currently renovating the gym, pool and breakfast areas. Wish I would have known that when I booked my room instead of when i checked in. Otherwise, it was good
Great hotel staff. Check in and out was painless. Room was clean and comfortable. Only gripe would be that it would have been great to have access to a small fridge in the room to store leftovers or refrigerated items.
Incredible staff and fantastic place. It's in the centre, of the centre. Everything is pretty close. Starbucks, 711, subway, tram station, etc. Everything is hop, skip and jump. The rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is genuinely helpful. Would love to come back soon.
Pros: Located downtown. Large hotel. Friendly staff. Great view of downtown from 23rd floor.
Cons: Absolutely NO MICROWAVES in the entire hotel - so prepare to eat out everyday. Refrigerators are available upon request, if they even have any left. Hotel room decor us a bit dated.
If it wasn't such a huge inconvience to have a microwave and fridge I would have given this hotel 4 stars.
Hands down the best I've been at. Everything was and always has been perfect. I suggest that you try a corner room to see the view of Old Sacramento and the River on the other side. It is so romantic. Everyone at that hotel is great. The location is great. Breakfast buffet is excellent. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel. This is our go-to spot when we have our weekend getaways. Pet friendly too!
My stay was good! Nice room, had a great time at our work party! But.. I called back very worried because I believe I left an important prescription there. If I don't take it I get extremely sick. I had just filled it the day I arrived at the hotel, and I am leaving for out of country this week so I really really need it. My insurance wont cover another since it had just been filled for 90 days.. I explained this all the the man (Joseph) at the front desk and he told me that I needed to fill out an online message and they would get back to me within about 24 hours or so. I explained I don't live in Sacramento and I am leaving, hoping he could please help me somehow. Instead he just continued to say the same thing over and over again, letting me know that maybe Ryan their head of housekeeping would accept a call from me tomorrow but there are no guarantees, and that there is noone else that can help me. Sheraton... Come on. Do better. That's insane. I didn't lose a shoe or a t-shirt. It is something that can keep me from getting sick every day, and without it I have a hard time eating any food without vomiting afterwards. Joseph, I know you were doing what you were told at your job, but a little compassion goes a long way. I don't just leave reviews for bad experiences, I love leaving them for great ones as well... But Sheraton went from a 4 to a 1 very quickly.
This is conviently located near the convention center, but I cannot give this 5 stars for the following reasons: Internet is TERRIBLE, even if you pay the $15 a day for premium. Toiletries were also poor quality, and I was left without shampoo. The main reason however, is that in the morning the water took nearly 15 minutes to get hot. I had to catch a plane, it was very early, and the water was freezing. I called downstairs and was told that it can take a long time, and that 10 minutes was pretty common. That is just ridiculous. I alone likely wasted 20 gallons of water, costing the hotel more money. And on the mirror it stated that conservation is important. I was apparently supposed to get a $5 restaurant credit for not using house cleaning for a day, but I never got that.
Nice hotel. Fitness certer is better than many I've visited in this price range but not the best. They do have sufficient equipment for a decent workout. Dumbbells up to 50lbs.a cable machine and a few other machines. Treadmill, elliptical, stationary bikes. Decent food and walkable restaurants. Rooms are comfortable and decent TVs. I'd stay here again.
Nice hotel in a good location in Sacramento. A little pricey but it is a Sheraton. Nice sized rooms and pretty quiet. Wifi ended up being free which was a nice bonus. Good restaurants in the area.
Awful. Staff seems to be trained in being rude to guests. Had to fiddle with the shower for 10 minutes to get luke warm water only to be scalded half way through. Mattress and pillows are worse than most 2 star hotels I've stayed in. Building may look nice, but overall, a terrible experience.
Was there for a week conferance. Prior to going my colleagues told me to being foos for breakfast and an ice chest since they do not included in the room only ice in some floors. I had a good view. Clean room and great service. I thought rooms would be a bit more bigger but it's a good size. Ground floor is really nice to have lunch and to sit down to have a meet and greet. Parking storage is across street of hotel. I paid $130 for 5 days, I think its pricey. At least I was near convention center and nearby stores and restaurants.
Beautiful place to be in the middle of a great plaza surrounded by many beaches in the hotter months or a cool ski lodge in the colder ones. Has a buffet at the top floor with bread pudding good enough to force you into smiling
This hotel has the potential to be great but there are many shortfalls for a business traveler hotel. Pros: location is great. Close to many restaurants, convention center, and capital museum. Updated gym is amazing with a view of the pool while on the treadmill. Parking is expensive $25 (self parking) $32 valet but remember free street parking on sundays! Rooms are clean and guest services responds quickly to requests. Beds are comfortable and the bar is a great place to socialize. Cons: service. There were not enough hotel staff to assist guests. When I would go to the front desk for help, it took 10-15 minutes to ask a question and longer for check-in. Small pool for guest along with no business center. I searched for 30 minutes after being directed to the second floor only to find out that the hotel removed the computers. I think for this hotel to service business travelers this is necessary. I hope that they improve these other areas in the future.
Very nice hotel with good city views. The downside for me was the ppl talking in the corridor at midnight. We were given a room on the 25th floor. Need to use hotel room card to ride the elevators up to this level 'cause it is one flight below the "Club Level" which led me thought it would be quiet at night 'cause few people would have access here. But I was wrong. Around 2AM the corridor suddenly became filled with people walking talking like a party was going on. Not sure what's going on and how that happened. Would have given a 5-star rating if not because of that.
Incredible staff and fantastic place. It's in the centre, of the centre. Everything is pretty close. Starbucks, 711, subway, tram station, etc. Everything is hop, skip and jump. The rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is genuinely helpful. Would love to come back soon.
Great experience of this place. Comfortable rooms and sitting area. Employees were very honest and knowledgeable.Food was good. Nice atmosphere. Overall I was satisfied from this location.
My stay at the Sheraton was perfectly fine. The hotel is nice and the staff were all friendly. I was there for a conference and everything went smoothly.
However, a week after my stay I received an additional charge for parking that I had not used. Trying to contact the hotel's accounting department to discuss this has been very frustrating. The accounting department never answers their phone. I left a message and was never contacted. The voicemail greeting provides an email to contact with inquiries. I have sent an email to the given address and again never heard a response.
I stayed in the Sheraton last year for a convention next door. I enjoyed my stay there. This year I didn't stay at the Sheraton for the convention but at lunch time I ate lunch in the lobby with no problems. Nice place to stay.
The ladies helping me keep my mess less were are thankful am 4 them. Tha coins are just tealeves with sparkles of gold. Your perspective makes all the difference in our world!
Convenient parking across the street, but the parking spaces are a bit narrow. I attended for a social event. The ballroom is large and well lit, with decent acoustics. With 500 people in the room, it was possible to carry on a conversation across the table. Food was decent, but a bit overcooked. Everything was clean and orderly. Servers were professional and courteous.
From walking through the door to sleeping in the bed, my entire experience here was very nice. Lots if mirrors & cute detail in the room & bathroom. The reading nook was a pleasant surprise. Bed is very comfortable. Valet was super expensive though. I was there for a conference the next morning so it was nice to be able to check out & leave my bags with the front desk (the give you a ticket to keep track if what's yours) & not have to worry about going out to my car or wasting the valet I paid for. Food was delicious! The space gir conferences was great as well. All staff were really professional & nice.
Friendly front desk agents! I checked in with Kylie and she recommended the presidential suite. I had to take it, and all I can say is... what an experience! Thank you!!
Great dog-friendly hotel option! Decent grass and dirt patches nearby for walking doggies, easy policy with deposit (promptly returned after checkout). Nice rooms and great location downtown!
Luu at reception was the best. She was super professional and her kindness on checking in was so appreciated. Thank you Sheraton for a great weekend stay!
I specifically requested the lowest floor possible 9 months in advance, and was given floor 25 out of 26. Since it was a convention centered around pop culture, dealing with 25 floors of stop and go was not very fun with so many people trying to change floors. There is also no free wi-fi during your stay, which is very 'caveman' of this hotel. Outside of those, my stay was pretty fun
For a supposed four star hotel, the Sheraton Grand was average at absolute best, honestly rather lackluster. The Quality Inn, a two star hotel, had more comfortable beds, free wifi (versus $15/night for Sheraton, seriously??), and a larger mini fridge for leftovers. Sheraton Grand is a joke for the price. Stay away.
This place is very nice. I had a whole lot of issues though with my room key, which had to be replaced about four times. But the stop was very understanding and helpful
Great hotel in this city.I visited here with my friend. We stay here two days.We had great day. Their services awesome. great place, neat and clean, comfortable rooms. Decor and interior was wonderful. Definitely visit again.
We enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton Grand hotel in Sacramento. The bed was very comfortable and the room was impeccable. The hotel was walking distance from several restaurants that we also enjoyed. I would give 5 stars, but the towels were a bit rough. I would definitely stay there again when visiting Sacramento.
Great location and a surprisingly good deal for a room here on short notice. Room was very clean and nice and you cant beat the location for downtown sac adventures. Very glad to have found this place and stayed here.
Since I had a great time with my wife here, that may be swaying my review, but the rooms were very good, bed was comfy, and the breakfast was very filling. Nothing fancy but still hit the spot!
This is a great old world-style hotel but with reasonable prices (& lots of internet specials). The staff is so friendly & welcoming! Rooms are clean & comfy with great views of Sac!
Had my senior prom here. It was nice having many separate areas so you could find one you felt most comfortable in. Temperature was never an issue like at other venues. Parking lot is badly designed if you ask me. Overall a good experience.
We stayed here during a family "staycation," and were treated so wonderfully!
The hotel is beautiful. Very clean. The staff is very welcoming. The rooms are clean. Comfortable beds and pillows. Good showers. The front desk associate, Carmen, even sent up a Thank You note for staying with them while we escaped reality for a couple of days. Totally sweet gesture!
Breakfast buffet is a bit expensive but it very good!
It's a great hotel and I would recommend it-without any hesitation!
It was ok, a little disappointed that it lists shuttle to airport as an amenity but after I booked I found out they dont. Also it said heated pool but it wasn't. Location is good and staff very nice and professional.
Second time staying in this hotel and I love it. Rooms are nice and clean and the lobby is inviting. The hotel staff is always helpful and knowledgeable. They gave me a room on the 24th floor which had a great view.
Would have rated this hotel highly, however, I now know they employ thieves. Left an eyeshadow palette behind. Reported it missing right away, exact room number and location and was told they could not find it. Hmmm no, i just think their housekeeping criminal thieves stole it. Wonderful that the Sheraton has such high standards of employment. Stay away! There are other many great companies and hotel who actually employ MORAL people.
Best things about this place is the location. You can walk to a lot of popular landmarks. The food is good, but on the expensive side. They lack in customer service at the front desk. Should do more to accommodate their guest even if they are traveling for business. The bathroom could use an update.
Thank you Sheraton for hosting our Legislative Labor Conference. The venue was awesome & heard speakers as to US Senator Kamela Harris & to many others.
I've stayed here several time while visiting Sacramento on business. I usually alternate between here and the Hyatt. In the past, the Sheraton front desk staff at this location have been friendly and personable, but the gentleman who checked me in this time wasn't very friendly. He wasn't rude or anything, he just barely said anything unless it was necessary and didn't seem to want to crack a smile. He asked if I wanted to sign up for the green choice and said they would clean my room on the third day of my stay. I spent five nights and they never came. I would stay here again because of the positive experiences in the past and because everything else was fine, but not based on my last stay. Hopefully that was just a fluke.
Really nice place. Comfortable beds. Clean atmosphere. Seems to be a lot of social events going on. No refrigerator in the room is kind of a bummer considering the price we paid for the room. Great location.
I attended a social event and was really impressed with how nice the event room was and how great and helpful the staff were. The food was delicious as well. I would recommend having an event here.
We had a convention in Sacramento last week and had made reservations on 3/11/19 for the Sheraton Grand Hotel. We received an email confirmation from them on 6/19/19. We arrived last Tuesday to find out there had been a computer glitch, and we no longer had a room. They had scheduled a room for us at a La Quinta nearby and offered to pay for the room. This was helpful, but the La Quinta did not have the same amenities nor was it in walking distance to the convention center where our meetings were being held. This was difficult as we had to take a cab/uber back and forth. Being our first time in Sacramento, we were unimpressed. I don't know if there weren't other hotels nearby that were comparable and the Sheraton just chose not to use them or if the city isn't capable of handling a convention as large as the one we were attending. Either way, it was disappointing and affected our trip. I understand that there are multiple ways to book a room in addition to simply booking through the hotel, but these online bookings aren't new. Hotels should be able to maneuver these, and it's poor that the Sheraton Sacramento can't handle that. Lastly, as a business owner, if my company makes a mistake, my husband or I will personally apologize and make it right. We felt extremely sorry for the front desk staff that had to tell multiple customers that they didn't have a room for them. Knowing that this problem was going to occur, a general manager should have taken the heat rather than have his/her staff deal with it.
This is a great spot downtown. Near everything and even has a Starbucks in the AM! However, for this to be an upscale room, it didn t have a microwave. People visiting out of town for a week are not ordering room service every night. I have some leftovers that I might want to eat at 3AM lol! Due to COVID the pool or the fitness center wasn t open, and no valet. But the staff was very hospitable. Don t pay $25 for parking every night near this location, when there is a parking lot in the same place for $10 a day. Beware there are a lot of homeless people near this hotel as well!!!!
My wife and I decided to get a nice hotel room for our last night in Sacramento, after staying and visiting with family for a few days. We usually stay at the Inn of Capital Park, which we like a lot but decided to stay at a "nicer" hotel to treat ourselves. Right away we noticed that there is no refrigerator and no microwave. Then we began to notice that the room had dust on all the surfaces, the blinds were broken, basically no amenities. Add the $25 parking charge and we could have stayed at our favorite hotel for less money, free parking and had all these things with it. It wasn't terrible but there are so many better hotels that we will never bother with the Sheraton again.
I booked my hotel through a 3rd party. I was charged for a full room price on my card they needed to scan for incidentals. I called to get it taken care of and the lady at the desk was unprofessional refused to connect me to a manager and said I need to contact Priceline and ask them why they didn't pay the hotel. I called back 6 hours later and spoke with a manager who said I was charged fraudulently and will be refunding your card. 6 days later and no refund. Called today and was told they just did it today. Still no refund in my account. They are unprofessional and rude.
Chose this hotel for SacAnime and not only was it amazingly affordable and spacious, but its location next to the covention center made it super convenient! I definitely plan on staying here for the next con.
