I've stayed here multiple times. The rooms need a deep cleaning and some work done
We were very disappointed with our booking, our room is very small and the hotel has no pool for the kids. Thin walls and noisy rooms and very basic decor take away from the beauty of the actual building. For the price we paid for the room we were expecting a 4 star room but instead it s more like a 2 stay room.
Had a fabulous stay! Valet and front desk were more than accommodating. They were extremely nice to my 9 year old son who was accompanying me Super helpful with local tips for dinner. I got lost in the staff quarters on my way to Starbucks on their lower level and they were super friendly to assist me. Whoops! ;) The appetizers and wine in the Club Lounge were great and the continental breakfast was great as well. The ambiance of the hotel is super cool. Definitely will stay again.
Very convenient location for all of downtown. The room was a little smaller than some hotels but we enjoyed staying in the historic building. Everything was great.
We stayed at this hotel when we had to evacuate Florida due to hurricane Irma. The staff were very accommodating. The were full to capacity with nervous guests who had to flee their homes. There were people and dogs everywhere. The staff remained calm and friendly. Their "anything you want " attitude made everyone feel comfortable and at ease. The campus sorority sisters even made hurricane welcome bags with snacks and Gatorade. The town was very inviting even though many restaurants and shops were closed due to the weather. The stand out employee was Frederick for his work ethic. Thanks to all of you who made us feel welcome even when nerves were being stretched.
If you expect this to be like other Sheraton's, you're going to be REALLY REALLY disappointed. This one is way behind the curve in so many ways, it's best to just avoid it.
The rooftop bar has a nice view and offer several drinks. Just be sure to have your credit card since they don't accept cash anymore up there.
Stopped into Starbucks for coffee. The atmosphere was excellent, everything was neat and clean, and the service was very friendly. I will definitely visit again!
Killer hotel... Great service. Wish there was a fan in the bathroom and blackout curtains in the room, but other than that it was a perfect experience.
I've been staying here at the hotel attending a local clergy conference in Columbia. There are late nights and tonight was no different. I came in around 10:20pm and went to the restaurant to order my dinner with hopes it could be brought to my room. At 10:27pm, I was told that the restaurant was closed and the Chef had already left. The restaurant doesnt close until 11:00pm yet no one seemed to know why it was closed at 10:27pm and the Chef already left the building.
Ryan offered to go and get dinner for at any nearby restaurants. He began to make recommendations and said he is happy to pick it up and bring to my room. Jill also provided me access to the Club Level so I could access to drinks and snacks and free breakfast in the morning. The customer serbice by these two employees was exceptional!! They went above and beyond the call of duty. I am very grateful to Ryan for making sure I had dinner. Cudo's to them both!
I am disappointed that the restaurant closed 30 minutes esrly and none of the staff was aware
Im sure I wasnt the only person wanting to order before 11pm.
Went to the roof top to drink. Great view. Cool atmosphere.
Clean rooms, charming style, Starbucks on site. Comfortable beds. Love this hotel!
The room was small, but comfortable. The king sized bed was very comfy. The design was great and all the staff were very polite and helpful!
Great hotel with a lot of style. You feel like you have stepped back to the 1920s with all of today's amenities.
Pretty nice place right downtown. Only complaint is that there is zero sound deadening through your door. You can hear everyone walking and talking.
The room was comfy ,the staff was wonderful, very friendly and accommodating. Kimberly in the club lounge was a delight. She was very pleasant and polite and a great conversationalist. The appetizers were amazing that they provided in the evenings.
Probably one of the worst hotels I've stayed in recently. Room was nice, but not without many flaws. There's no counter space in the bathroom for toiletries. I found chewed up gum in my coffee cup. And only received one bottle of water in my room the entire stay. I guess members really do get all the perks. :/
When my colleagues and I arrived after the posted checkin time, we were informed our rooms were not ready yet, but they would be available soon. Since we had booked the club level, they went ahead and gave us club lounge key cards. Two hours later they were still not ready. When they could finally get us in our rooms, three of the four were on club floors and the other down on 6th. I was informed they would "try" to get me a discount.
The club lounge was a joke. There are too many tables and chairs in it, you can't walk around. When I went up for breakfast on the first day there were no plates or bread items. Poor toaster didn't get any use. Second day they provided bagels, but no butter or cream cheese to put on them.
Room service trays were left in the hallways on multiple occasions. One has been there for a full 24 hours.
Definitely would not stay in this hotel again.
Rooms were clean for an older hotel. Don't try to call the front desk for anything I easily was on hold for 15+ minutes multiple times.
I loved staying here. It's a renovated 1913 bank building and it feels like you're stepping back into the Golden Age. The rooms are great and the staff is exceptional. I like the rooftop bar as well as the one in the bank vault. Classy and elegant. Easily my favorite hotel in Columbia.
Very nice rooms, although noise from neighbors can be heard easily.
Beautiful building, staff was cordural. Need some updating, and could use some pictures on the walls.
The view from the balcony of the rooftop bar was phenomenal making for an intimate and classy experience. It's a gem that not everyone knows about where you can sip a dry martini or Tom Collins in comfort and relaxation.
There is a TV in the bathroom.... but you have to pay an extra $30 for a refrigerator for your room. I feel as this is only slightly ridiculous.
Pleasant staff and nice rooms. Walking distance to the Vista.
I live staying here. Very old building and quick access to downtown area.
The Hotel is very nice and Valet Guys are fantastic and knowledgeable about the city!
All the Staff Greet you with a Hello and warm smile!
Great location. I love the older charm of this hotel. Good amenities with restaurants and starbucks on the property.
Hotel is very nice, rooms were clean and comfortable. But my neighbors we're loud and you could hear everything
Probably the worst customer service I've received at a hotel. Underwhelming. I'd suggest heading over to the Hilton a few blocks over. Front desk doesn't answer calls from rooms, valet is very slow and uninterested in helping clients. Really just disappointed.
The staff was very welcoming at the front desk, the valet men were extremely accommodating and motivated. It's near everything, high rating dining, the zoo, nightlife and has wonderful bars of its own that locals come in and out of for a great social experience and even better people watching.
The rooms are clean with 3 AWESOME AMENITIES, DUAL SHOWER HEADS, TV IN THE BATHROOM, AND ON DEMAND FOR MOVIES CURRENTLY IN THE THEATERS.
**Now our room didnt have a fridge or microwave but they do have room service.
The Starbucks is below the hotel, accessible from out side only, ON WEEKENDS THE STARBUCKS CLOSES AT 6 PM.
Other than the above I thought the rooms were decorated and provided a good option.
Good staff, check in was quick. The food in club lounge was alright, we went and got breakfast some place else. Rooms are updated but the hotel has nice charm!
The hotel was nice, the staff very friendly. The bed was super comfy. My one complaint would be that the bathroom wasn't super clean.
The rooms are small, after checking in I got up to my room only to be met with vomit in the hallway. Room service was horrible as well, if you are going there don't stay there.
Not a typical chain hotel. Nice old fixed up downtown hotel. In the heart of a small city.
This place is is the worst for customer service. I would advise finding another place to spend your money at!
Small room and dated furniture and paint job. Room AC also didn't work.
Good location, clean rooms, polite staff. Roof top bar is pricey, but with good views.
Very clean! Nice decor. Great location. Staff went way beyond expectations. Definitely will recommend and stay here again!
The Sheraton is in the middle of downtown with many restaurants within walking distance. The hotel was built in an old bank and makes it unique from other Sheratons. The rooms aren't the typical hotel room but feel more like a small apartment minus a kitchen. The floors are hardwood in each room so they do creak. There is also a bar within the old bank vault which is quite nice. Overall the hotel provides a modern feel to the typical hotel lodging and provides good service.
The location was good, though hard to find parking. The service was nice though I can only speak for the waiters. Good food though
Location was good in the center of town. They advertise as good for business travelers but don't have a shuttle to or from the airport. Bathroom was fantastic, but the bed in the room was crunchy and squeaky, and the wardrobe was broken and the interior light wouldn't go off. It was fine.
I love everything about this quaint center city boutique hotel. I especially like the rooftop garden, the cheeseburgers, in the morning coffee in the lobby.
The rooms were exquisite and the staff was exceptionally pleasant.
I enjoyed the walk through and relaxing in the Vault...
Thanks For The Tea!
Disappointing. Problems with hot water. Problems with plumbing. Beds were made by what looked like a 5th grader. Very poor service for drinks in the restaurant one evening. Breakfast was moderate at best. Evening reception poor. Nice location. Decor was great. Clean. Rooftop bar cool!
This was the best. Loved our stay. Staff was awesome. We will tell all our friends
Enjoyed staying in this hotel which was in an old bank.
Nice hotel with character. Great Starbucks downstairs!
Went for a drink. It's a nice rooftop bar in the middle of the city with nice staff. Only complaint is the rooftop only faces South leaving only one table that gets the sunset.
The rooftop bar offers a great view of the city and is a nice place to unwind
The staff were helpful, the food delicious. As a bonus they have a Starbucks!
Stopped to visit a friend. Front desk staff were extremely nice and my friend's room was beautiful. The view was great too!
Bad timing since I was there on New Years day Then staff was excellent
Everyone at the front desk was completely rude to my family when they were here for my college graduation. We tried to have a nice breakfast before they went back out of town and there was one waitress working the whole restaurant on Mother's Day no less. Who thought it would a good idea to have one waitress on Mother's Day is beyond me. My aunt had to teach the people at the front desk how not to double charge people for the room. She had to literally circle on the bill where she was double charged. The restroom is the restaurant was out of order and my 4 year old niece had to use the men's restroom. We had to send her meal back as well because we asked for NO BANANAS and there was bananas anyway. The whole hotel was disgusting and the people working would rather gossip then do their jobs. Seriously corporate needs to come in here and fire everyone and hire some people who know what the hell they are doing. Good day.
I stayed here a few months ago and the experience was awful. Thy didn't have the room that I had reserved and the room that they did put my family and I in only had one bed. The room was so small that it was difficult to get our luggage in, as the luggage cart didn't even fit into the room. I was electrocuted by exposed wires. My family was surprised when hotel staff entered the room on them without knocking. The hotel is very old, despite renovations it is cramped and still feels old.
Comfortable beds. Older building, but everything is updated inside. A little small for those that like a lot of space in their room.
