Spent 3 nights in the renovated section of the hotel.Staff excellent but disappointed with the decor in the room..no carpet..vinyl plank instead..ok for a high traffic family area but not for a hotel room that was over $400per night. No pictures on the walls..very stark..no plush curtains..cheap blockout fabric..not what I imagined for a 5 star hotel.Bathroom very small and pokey..hard to close the door to get around it to get to the toilet..this is a beautiful art deco building and once off the first couple of floors you would never know it..downstairs remnants of the art deco age remain..beautiful leadlight and light fittings. But not much else.

Fairly basic room. Bathroom had dead bugs everywhere. The room itself was tired and rundown. Sheets were thin and slippery. It was fine for a no frills business trip but I think you could find better quality for the price.

Take care when checking into this hotel. I received in excess of $1,400 in pending authorisations on my credit and debit cards over a two night stay even though my booking was almost half this amount. They also dis-armed our room keycards and asked when we were checking out even though we had booked two nights' accommodation. Great hotel in a great location let down by inadequate admin processes.

Unlike some of the other hotels I've started in that were once nice but hadn't aged well, the Grace has maintained a high standard in all areas. I would make special mention of the staff who were courteous and efficient. Alexander gets things done.

Sorry Galen, sure you took me there first, but I'm keeping the Grace. The gothic revival grandeur of the outside contrasts beautifully with the understated modern elegance of the suites. The ever helpful staff and excellent meals almost make me feel bad for taking it... well almost.

Decent room with fantastic location. Price on a higher side. Arrived around 9am but understandably no room to check me in. Came back at at 1pm, no room and was told to stick with 3pm check in time. Apart the inflexibility otherwise a comfy stay.

It's an old hotel and it is really showing its age. The function rooms floor is not level, seems like the carpet is covering up some old floors.

Saw some cockroaches can be found near the coffee machine.

Food in the cafeteria was ok but nothing special.

We had the opportunity for a free room for the weekend as a prize. Very well setout and right in the heart of the city. Lovely huge bed, comfortable and rooms didnt smell and were of great quality. I would go again if the opportunity arose.

Grace Hotel Sydney: Tourist buses and other places...

Grace Hotel Sydney: Tourist buses and other places can not be parked right in front of the city, so if you can come as a group you may get on and off the other side of the road or a little further away. The staff do not speak Japanese, but they are kind to me. The hotel feels like a well-established luxury hotel, and the rooms are nice (some rooms do not have a bathtub). The building is one of Sydney's historical monuments. There are a convenience store and a supermarket near the hotel (Ulworth and Coles). When you go to the sea side, walk slowly to Darling Harbor for around 15 minutes. There are places where you can drink lightly and a restaurant near the hotel, but there are many fashionable shops where you can also dine in the harbor. Ships such as dinner cruises also depart from here. Walking distance to the Sydney Tower. Check-in and check-out time may be time-consuming, so if you want to leave early you may want to leave early. The door on the back of the hotel lobby level is closed late. Be careful when returning to the hotel late.

Hotel staff were very good our first room was clean but was an internal room so had a very very small window over looking more small windows. Staff changed our room to an outside room when requested.

We've spent here some days in our honeymoon. It was ten years ago but we still remember vividly the beautifulness of this hotel, how the room was huge, clean, full of comfort and with a stunning view. Tbe resturant was capable to surprise you with both classic and more innovative dishes, all prepared with maestry. The staff was kind and professional. I would definitelly return here in my next trip to Sydney

Convenient location, clean interior, but best of all, amazing service.

We drive past the grace hotel often when we are in town. I never thought to book a stay there, as it looks quite aged on the outside. But you know how the famous saying goes, never judge a book by its cover and I'm glad I didn't.

The hotel interior is clean and spacious. As you walk intp the hallways and into the rooms, you are met with modern fittings and an elegant layout.

The most impressive part of the hotel is the service. Everyone is friendly, from the car attendants, the cleaners all the way to the hotel reservations. They make sure your stay is pleasant easy.

Highly recommend and would stay there again. Check out their website for deals and specials.

The swimming pool is great. The service is awesome. However, the walls are thin and and you can hear your neighbours. The windows don't open, so you cannot ventilate your room. Location is perfect, Vapiano is next door and has amazing food.

Service is very friendly, rooms are clean, & location is perfect. We pre-paid breakfast buffet each day and was pleasantly surprised highly recommended. Loved the classy old fashioned look, but some floors have been updated nicely.

Booked 2 nights stay here and the rooms were huge. These are the older rooms so I have no idea how the new ones look like. This place is in the midst of renovation so take note if you're not out of the room by 9am everyday, the drilling starts promptly at that time and continues till 5pm. Otherwise this place has a huge TV, big beds and a very wide space. Service is attentive and staff are friendly. Gym and pool however are nothing much to speak off and are both very small and on the top floor.

Very centrally situated, we walked to most places, including the opera house.
Very close to the German Beer-huis (fantastic food).
We had to ask to be moved due to renovasion noise, and we received an upgrade.
They were very gracious.
Huge comfortable bed, large bathroom.

Been here for a conference for 2 days. Neat and clean. Friendly staff. Buffet food is yummy and has many choices. Located in CBD and accessible by public transport, 8 minutes walk from St.James station.
