Nice resort. Great pool and amenities. Just come during good weather.
Very convenient and the lift is right behind the resort (100 yards away). Kind of expensive though
My friend and I stayed at the resort a few days ago. My friend booked it through Groupon that came with a $25 room and dinning credit. The suite we booked was really nice, but here comes the story: There was ONE bottle of sparkling water in the room. We were wondering if it was covered under the suite charges, so we checked the sealing tag. Without seeing any prices or warnings around the bottle, we opened and used some of the sparkling water.
The next day as we were packing and about to leave, I saw an $8 price sticker on top of the bottle, and the sticker was the same color as the cap, which was LIGHT GREY, and the price was printed in WHITE.
We were really upset about it, so I asked the front desk, and the lady told me that it should be covered under the $25 dinning credit. But the lady also told me that, since HOUSEKEEPING was actually in charge of the water, I should call them and see if they could do anything about it first. So I did, and the housekeeping personal answered the call told me that they would take care of it, and we would NOT be charged for the water. We were really happy about that.
As we checked out, the front desk told us that we hadn't used the dinning credit yet, and since the water would be taken care of by the housekeeping department, we still got the whole $25 left. So we got some food that was about $28, and I went ahead and took care of the $6.54 (food+room tax) my friend owed at point of checking out, using my card, even though the suite was booked under my friend's name and the resort used her credit card when we checked in.
That was not the end of the story. Today when I checked my bank account, I saw a $17.02 charged by "RESORT AT SQUAW CREEK 400 SQUAW CREEK RD OLYMPIC VALLECA" I had no idea where that charge came from, so I called their front desk. I was told that there were TWO bottles of sparkling water used in our room, so we were charged for them plus tax.
I told the person that we only opened THE ONLY ONE bottle of sparkling water in the suite and I called housekeeping already and was informed that we would not be charged, otherwise we wouldn't use up the whole $25 credit in the first place. The front desk said that he would go ahead and give me a refund. As of now, I am still waiting to see the refund to show up on my account.
End notes:
1. I've no idea where that 2nd bottle came from, it was either that they forgot to put two of them in the suite as they cleaned it, or it was some kind of fraud setup by the housekeeping department.
2. Did I like my staying there disregarding this drama? YES.
3. Were the front desk people helpful? YES
4. Would I want to return to Resort at Squaw Creek again, under the risk of having unauthorized charges on my account? Definitely NO.
The employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The views must be similar to heaven.
A very beautiful place The rooms are quite nice and spacious. The food inside was delicious.
A great big pool for the summer. Plenty of space to keep social distanced from others.
Beautiful resort with incredible amenities. We loved the pool area and taking the shuttle to Squaw Village.
The location is gorgeous. Rooms are spacious and clean. The grounds are great! Lots of games, pools and restaurants. Very close to the lifts
Great big rooms. Resort is nice. was here for a conference event.
The staff there was incredible so nice to talk too and the ambiance is luxury at it's finest. The food there was mouth watering and would definitely recommend it.
Squaw Creek is one of my favorite places to stay while on vacation. It's a gorgeous, classy resort that is also equally family friendly.
The staff makes you feel welcome at all times. The hotel rooms come in a regular size as well as a suite, and both are perfectly accommodating.
Both the summer and winter seasons come with their positives, but I personally prefer winter due to the beautiful views and easy access to the slopes. There is a ski lift on the property, making this very simple. During the summer they have smores and golfing, which is very fun as well. There are various shops along the promenade connecting the hotel to the lobby. Overall, you can't go wrong with Squaw Creek!
Came for a work offsite. They were very hospitable and accommodating. My group had a great time and plan to return next year.
Overpriced stores that you have to walk past to get to your rooms. Ugly building completely at odds with the surroundings. Aged decor, felt like a medium-tier airport hotel. Location great for squaw access but otherwise, save your money.
Not a lot of people which is a plus. Room is a bit old but kept clean.
Front desk staff exceedingly helpful. Poor first aid facilities after slopes close though
Excellent quality and service. A little expensive...
Spectacular setting. Very beautiful valley view. The perfect size for family fun. Very well equipped with heated pool.
Excellent resort with ski lift and skating rink. Friendly customer service.
Rooms are nice although A/C can't keep up. Food was good although service in Sandy's was pretty poor. Great pool and poolside service.
Great staff and service. Jump out of bed and onto the slopes.
Beautiful resort and valley, snow was great this year. Accommodating and friendly staff
Nice place. Lovely scenery. Some furniture needs to be replaced around the campus. Especially the smaller firepits..those are going to hurt someone some day.
Had lunch at the restaurant. The weather was beautiful so we sat outside. Great view. Great service. Delicious food!
I snowshoed around the valley and enjoyed lunch at the Resort at Squaw Creek. The food and ambiance were fantastic.
Excellent venue for Christmas dinner. Good food for the meal and good fun by the fire and on the ice rink after.
Beautiful resort! Staff were really friendly and professional. Food was just okay.
The view was nice but most of the power outlet in my room didnt work.
Just attended SACRS. Great venue for the conference! Hotel staff was very good.
Beautiful location, but had a lot of room key difficulties
We went dog sledding and ice skating. Dog sledding is always fun! Just beautiful sledding out in the meadow. Ice skating was ok. Ice rink was small and had lots of cracks. Food is decent at Sandy's Pub, but a milkshake will set you back $9! What would Vincent Vega think of that??
Never been in their rooms, but the shops are great, elite feet is the best boot shop in the basin and you can't beat the hat adult drinks at Sandy's pub
Rooms seem fine but BE WARNED: at check in just now, when we provided our credit cards for incidental charges, the resort put a $700 hold per person on the credit cards! No warning so make sure you have a big enough credit line. I ve traveled all over the world and have never seen such a high charge. The hotel check in staff should advise everyone of this charge up front.
Amazing place. Looks beautiful. Pool are was nice and amenities were top notch. The room was neat and maintained well. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Great resort. Lots of amenities. Nice rooms. Easy ski in/ski out access. Regular shuttle to Squaw Village. Normally, I would give this type of resort 5 stars. I can't due to poor service (see below).
One large complaint: service. Their service was very poor. We sometimes had to call 4 times for a request. It was absurd. We spent so much time on the phone calling the hotel from our room to make things happen. The maid also always forgot to accomplish something each day (e.g. empty body wash I shower, removed bath mat and didn't replace, left empty tissue box, removed kitchen sponge and didn't replace). And their service was sooooooo slow. For example, our luggage took over an hour to make it to our room. Or we called for bathrobes so we could use them for the hot tub and it took them 4 hrs to bring them.
Views of Olympic Valley are spectacular! Resort and rooms are updated. Bed was very comfortable and standard room was spacious. Food options are rather pricey, suggest options in town instead. Would be happy to stay here again and get to take advantage of all the other amenities the resort has to offer outside of a professional event.
Great place for the family. Resort includes several pools, waterslide, hot tubs, bars, restaurants an ice rink, ski in ski out easy access to the village. Full spa and gym.
Pool and Hot tub were awesome! Take a ski lift or slope to and from the hotel!
Great place.. so much to do for entire family, skating rink, pool, spa, ski..
We just finished a five-day conference at this resort today and the seven of us are over the moon with our experience. We LOVED the 2-BR penthouse, the view, the food, the pools, the golf... it goes on and on. We look forward to returning to Tahoe, and won't waste our time searching for a better accommodation. There isn't one!
First, can book online but cannot modify reservation online. Second, called to modify my reservation 3 times. Put on hold all 3 times over the course of 2 weeks and had to hang up the first 2 times because put on hold so long. Then finally stay on hold long enough on my third call to get an option to leave a message. Leave a message asking to cancel 1 night of a 6 night stay and get a call back a few hours later. I am told by customer service rep that I am outside the 14 day window and will be charged whether or not I show up. The only option is to find someone to take over that night and agree to charge their card. First thing is my stay starts 11 days from now and ends 16 days from now. I am modifying the reservation not cancelling it all together, but the resort is saying that because my stay starts less than 14 days out I cannot make any changes to anything. The customer service rep came up with no other solutions - nothing. They could have charged me then give me resort credit to the spa or restaurants. They could cancel it this one time. They could give me 50% charge for that night. They didn't even offer a voucher to anything. Great start to a trip I haven't even begun...
Great hotel with plenty of amenties. Restaurants are fantastic and great skiing/snowboarding onsite. Staff is very friendly and rooms are spacious.
Friendly and efficient staff. Ski in/out location with Squaw Creek chair can't be beat. Rooms and amenities in good condition.
Their latest WiFi upgrade hasn't gone well. The staff tried to fix it but couldn't and were apologetic about it. Hopefully they fix it soon.
Very good service under difficult circumstances. Thanks Squaw Creek! We'll be back.
My family and I come back here every year, maybe twice a year. Laid back relaxation is key. Great location and super helpful staff. If you have young kids it's an ideal safe place to allow them to explore the grounds.
My 2nd stay in luxurious accommodation in the heart of nature. The 2-tory hotel room was incredible.
Whoa. Just Whoa. Pull up to valet on Saturday morning at 930am...the valet walks up, "What do you need?" ...My boyfriend asks if we could park in valet. He says, "Uh, are you staying here?" ...Yes, we are my parents are checked in already. Can we use valet too? Room ect..ect.. Valet says, he's confused and asks again if we are staying there. Yes, room and last name given. At this point, he is just like whatever. Get inside and it's REALLY NICE. We try and get breakfast, all breakfast stops at 11am, which isn't too early since we arrived at 930am, and spent about 20 minutes trying to get valet to help us. Get to the Cascades buffet, 30 minutes until 11am when they close. He says sure no problem, seats us, we said we'll be quick. He says, well you've got about 10 minutes before I start pulling food. WHY WOULD YOU SEAT US THEN? 30min...I can do...5min...no...SOooo no breakfast because nothing else opens until 2pm. The staff is just rude...if you can find anyone...for this to be a resort there aren't many people walking around and they seem put off to even help with directions. Just don't, go to Olympic Village and spend the same.
Super nice! A great place for families... Ice skating rink, jacuzzi's, pool, just to name a few!
Exceptional service, nicely equipped rooms including robes, many shops, restaurants, and activities. There is no need to leave the resort but many opportunities to do so and have even more fun.
The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the accommodations were very comfortable. Breakfast and lunch at the restaurants were very enjoyable, and the golf course was challenging but fun!
My family and I stayed at The Resort and Squaw Valley for 4 nights with check-in on May 31, 2017. From the moment we pulled up under the portico and the attendant approached me, I knew this was to be a great experience. His desire to provide great customer service was evident. He was sincere and accommodating in every way. This was evident from the entire staff throughout our stay. The Resort itself exceeded my expectations. The entire facility is that of a 5-star resort.
To top it all off, near the end of my stay I approached the concierge needing information and a special request, She could not have been more helpful with a true desire to gather the information I needed. She even had ideas as we were talking. She took my cell number and said she would either call me a back or another person would call me back. The call came that same day. On the other end was Nate, the Guest Services Manager. He offered a solution AND Nate would be the actual person helping me out. He even helped me out on his day off. Nate is true representative of the Resort and the values the Resort stands for.
I would recommend The Resort at Squaw Valley to anyone. I have traveled much over the last 30 years and this is at the top of my list.
Thank You for a great 6 days.

Don't let the pictures mislead you. Not a great experience for first time in Tahoe. Not kid friendly!!! Advise you stay elsewhere.
Experience is always great while ate Squaw. The people are very friendly and polite. Staff go out of their way to help you.
If you're in Tahoe then stay here, the amenities are nice and it's a great place to stay
I don't even know where to begin on how horrible this place is. The main restaurant was closed for our entire 5 day stay, some had to either dine at the noisy sports bar or drive to Tahoe City. The sports bar completely burned our steaks and salmon and still served them, red wine was served warm in cheap IKEA white wine glasses and spilt everywhere. They comped us dessert for ruining the meal. The coffee and lattes at the cafe are the worst I've ever had, and it is the only place in the resort that has internet access. The rooms are loud, you can hear others on all sides of you. None of the staff here is friendly, the front desk makes you feel like a disturbance just to check in, and a smile and good morning greeting to other staff goes ignored. If the stay wasn't prepaid and nonrefundable, I would have been out of here after the first night. I will never return to Squaw Creek, or any Destination Hotel or Resort.
Beautiful resort, amazing room! I was here for a conference and was very impressed with all of the rooms.
The rooms are very nice and the location is great. I was here for a conference and all the service that I received was to notch.
Beautiful view from our room. Staff was very accommodating and the hotel was very family friendly.
Having gathered the entire family to celebrate an very special 80th birthday, a day by the pool was just what the family planned, but when a nearby resorts pool went down Michael Kennedy came to my rescue! He arranged for an amazing poolside cabana, a golf cart ride down to the pool for the birthday girl, and made sure we had everything we could want for. Our waitress, Ariel, was spectacular! She always knew when our drinks needed refilling and kept our snacks coming. Thanks to Michael, the birthday weekend was so much more than we could have ever planned! We will definitely be staying at the Resort at Squaw Creek very soon. Thank you again Michael and Ariel for making great birthday memories for not only my Mom but for the entire family!
Loved this place sooo much. I flew my mom out to Tahow for an early birthday celebration. My brother lives in Tahoe. We all immensely enjoyed this resort. It was so incredibly dog friendly which was awesome. The resort was beautiful and well kept. The restaurants, cafe, and shops on property were all fantastic. We visited in the "off" season and we basically had the resort to ourselves. I will definitely be back again! I give this place my highest recommendation!
Stayed here for two nights during the Easter weekend back in 2018. I was not a fan of the restaurants here. The Sandy's Pub place had amazing service the first night (3/31/2018), so we went back the next day (Easter Sunday 4/1/2018). The service that evening was very lackluster compared to the previous night. We were feeling ignored a little, and our waiter seemed to have a little attitude. It was very disappointing. We tried Six Peaks, and the food was very expensive for very small portions. We noticed that some of the hot food at the breakfast buffet was a little under temperature, and it was just sitting under a heated lamp and not in a pan. I came down with a stomach bug in the evening that day, and I think the under-temperature food is what caused it. I also wasn't a fan of having to be bused to the tubing area. There wasn't anything very spectacular about this place in my opinion. We won't be going back to this particular resort again.
First class amenities overall. Rooms are very comfortable with higher class linens, pillows etc. For was good but a little pricey. Bought my kid a virgin daiquiri for $10?!? as the irritated bartender made it apparent that he wasn't fond of making smoothies. Food at the pool was cold when it was served.
Beautiful resort, awesome view of the mountain, good food, nice rooms and a great little shopping mall. Can't wait to go back in the summer!
The location is convenient to many of the amenities around Squaw Valley and surrounding Lake Tahoe. Rooms are spacious and are very family friendly. Christmas season is our favorite time to visit to see the giant gingerbread houses, ice skate, sled, and partake of the many family activities.
It was okay, although very beautiful on the outside. The staff wasn't very friendly and checking out was a HASSLE.
Very solid resort with great views and amenities. Ski lift is super close and the on-site retail and food is pretty decent.
Great view and friendly staff. A suite with lots of windows makes it great.
