I've read a ton of complaints about this place. Here's a thought: You get what you pay for. I knew coming in this was the cheapest vacation my husband and I ever booked. I was pleasantly surprised by the very large room. It's CLEAN. The staff is amazingly helpful and polite. The food is pedestrian, but what else should one expect at these rates? The best part is they're not bugging us about timeshares! I've paid top dollar to be harassed on a daily basis by rude timeshare sales people. This is a nice, quiet, small family place. It's full of polite Mexican families, which is WAY better than the typical Eurotrash we're usually subjected to when traveling outside the US We're right on the water, the views are amazing. If you want Sandal's, stop being cheap and go to Sandal's.

In all respects we were pleased by the services and the staff of the Development,. . . Except for the bad maintenance that they give to the water in the pool. Every day it was very cloudy. We reported it daily and nobody could solve the problem. Of course they gave us many explanations, but nothing to justify the fact. I hope they solve it.

I was at this resort for my birthday from March 25 to April 1st and this is one of the better resorts I have rated this good. From Hector at the front to the reception, Karla and other staff made my arrival welcome and easy. Then comes Fernando the bar tender who may not talk much but he is always there to make eye contact if you need another drink. I have never come across the alcohol brands use is of better quality than most resorts.
The restaurants are absolutely fantastic I The food is one of the best I have in an all inclusive resort. El Pescador serves such good quality tuna (I love it !),, paring with grilled cactus and the octupus and clams are all yummy. The Mexican too we enjoyed. They serve good quality tequila for shots and the food is an experience in itself. Andras and Alfredo made every visit welcome and caring.
The A La Carte runs by Ringo, Esteban and the lovely team of staff, Filberto, Ines, Jacklyn, Gilberto, Geraldo, Salvador make my breakfast and lunch so enjoyable as they are quick to help you with your soup or plates, bring you juice and the food again is of good quality.
Sergio and Mauricio who always run around making sure all facilities run smoothly are always there to listen and assist me when I have questions or suggestions. Viktor who also runs around I haven't forget.
The cleaning ataff keeps the entire compound as clean as can be even there is construction going on.

First let me begin I did not post reviews for long time even was traveling to many places because there always were some negatives and highlighting them was in my opinion unfair to hardworking people serving me there. But now I have to because I do not want my fellow travelers to make costly mistake like I did. My well desired vacation, my daughter graduation trip was completely ruined in that resort. The troubles begins since the beginning. After no any greetings I was met by rude customer service named Fatima who lied straight in my face that type of room I ordered located just on second floor. My travel agent send request one month in advance that I need higher floor and it was highlighted in my hotel voucher because my daughter suffering from asthma but it did not helped and apparently I was eligible for fourth floor. Nobody except customer service speak English so when you do not speak Spanish you out of luck. Food is cheapest quality I have ever seen in all resorts with very limited choices. One time I tried snack bar, place an order and when it was ready server simply give it to locals which come after me. I was so outraged and express my concerns to customer service with no results. I traveled last year to Now Amber resort, spent the same amount of money and there is huge difference from Park Royal. In my opinion Grand and Luxury in name is pure joke. Even with new name it still old resort with cheap food and service. By the way there is no life guard on duty and big sign on the beach suggest you to swim on your own risk.
