The views... Geez, the views alone are enough to make your stay worth it, but the hotel staff makes it their goal to exceed your expectations daily. Between the constant communications and a genuine willingness to serve and accommodate, it's my best guess that they rarely miss that mark. The rooms are fairly spacious even at the lower tiers, and the housekeeping staff is super responsive at any time of day. The concierge loves her job, and loves the people she works with. There's always a lot going on, but in spite of that the staff is always personable and accommodating. I absolutely recommend visiting the on premise restaurant as the view while dining on a clear night is breathtaking, and somehow makes the good taste better. If I had any complaints, it would be that my bed wasn't the most comfortable thing I'd slept in for the price of the room, but I didn't do much sleeping anyway. If you get a chance to go, definitely do...

We had a lovely stay. There were some bugs and a scorpion in the room, which is to be expected in the desert environment, but we mentioned it at checkout and were offered free meals at the on-site restaurant. Overall a great place. We will be back!
We were very pleased with the hotel overall. It is a beautiful place with fantastic views. However, it was our anniversary and we would have liked to have been helped a little bit better when we ran into some booking problems. The suite was nice but the hot tub wasn't warm and the facility really kind of needs a makeover. We paid a lot of money and would have appreciated a bit more for what we spent. Overall a nice stay.
We held our annual conference at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio this year and were very happy with the experience. The conference room was set up beautifully and the vendor room was spacious and inviting. The food and service during breaks and lunch was very good, no complaints. I personally didn't stay in a room but from what I heard they were very nice and again, we received no complaints from our clients who did stay there.
This hotel is an absolute gem for locals during the summer months. The room rates become reasonable, allowing for the less than affluent set to enjoy shimmering swimming pools and late morning room service pancakes. The Different Pointe of View restaurant is located at the top of a steep hill and gives diners an incredible view of the valley while indulging on Oysters Rockefeller and other fancy titled foods. Overall, the staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. Thank you Bob Gosnell for bringing such wonderful resorts to Phoenix.
Booked this hotel for a weekend staycation and was so impressed. The rooms were beautiful and well maintained. The hotel itself is nestled right in the Phoenix mountains with gorgeous scenery. They have multiple pools throughout the property but the best is they're large pool called The Falls, which requires a special wrist band. It has a water slide and shallow areas for the kids and also a bar nearby with poolside servers. You are also allowed to drink in the pool!
I brought my family here for a weekend of fun but instead it was aggravating. Upon arrival we were told there was a deposit held for room service, etc. The hotel ended up charging us for room service instead of deducting it from the money already being held as they said. The room was ok but what killed it for us was the wasps nest on the balcony. Said nest was active and made it difficult to use the balcony. After reporting the nest, nothing was done, in fact staff appeared not to care. The guests next door to us were extremely loud! I understand people wanting to have fun but there is a limit. 11pm to 1am there was nothing but loud screaming, banging, door slamming and the dominant odor of marijuana. We contact the front desk who said they would take care of the problem. Security shows up and claims to take care of the issue. Right after the door closes they start up again. We wouldn't of minded if it wasn't for the baby my wife was trying to get to sleep. Mold was found in the bathroom on the tub, which again was ignored. Upon check out we talked to front desk staff about the issues and again we were blown off. Front desk said they received a lot of complaints about the excessive noise last night but there's nothing they can do about it. With that statement made I now believe this hotel is for partying and illegal activities vs a family atmosphere. Needless to say I won't be bringing my family back here or recommending this hotel for any families. However if you want to get drunk, do drugs and act a total ass, this place is for you!
I travel extensively, mainly for business, but also personal when I get the opportunity to. I stay at Hilton properties about 99% of the time as I enjoy their consistency and amenities. As a business traveler I will not stay here again. The staff are great, let me say that much for the place. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The grounds themselves are nice, the room was spacious and clean, and I appreciate the fact that neighboring room noises cannot be heard. Here's the downsides.....
Depending on what building you stay in, you will not be conveniently located to amenities. The workout room? That's in a separate location up on top of the hill, and not a short distance away, again depending on your room location. Restaurants? Depending on what's open, one is at the far end of the property, up the hill (nice view), and the other is down at the opposite end of the place by the golf shop. **Side note here for anyone using their corporate cards...the terminals in the restaurants are coded as "gift/novelty shop" and not as a restaurant, so your cards may not be accepted, depending on your company's policies.** The dinner menu is limited, and the wine prices were high, even for a hotel restaurant. Here to golf? That's about a 1/4 mile away, and of the two tennis courts, there was one good net.
The worst part is the exterior noise levels. If you are in the main building facing the pools, it will be noisy. Due to the orientation of the walkways and buildings, you will hear people walking and talking, or carts and bags rolling, as the sound both echoes off the walls and the walkways. The large pool area in the back played host to two large parties (with DJ's, etc) during the week I was there that ran past the 10pm cutoff by about 20 minutes or so, and then there was the loud party goers wandering through the parking lots back to their rooms.
Tonight was the topper as a large delivery truck pulled into the lot below my room, backed up several feet with it's reverse beeper beeping, and then idled as it prepared to offload. Thankfully it cut it's motor for the main duration of the work, but a delivery truck pulling in at 8:35 PM is a little much.
Like I mentioned, I'm a business traveler, and I often work at times that require early starts to my day. But even if I were getting to sleep in and relax a bit, the overall noise and inconvenience of this place would keep me from coming back.
This was a good choice. Went out 1 hour earlier than scheduled, paired up with threesome. They showed me around. Fairways and greens in good shape. Several risk reward opportunities. Views are wonderful. Highly recommend it.
Worst time ever. First room had ants, phone didn't work,no food in mini bar. Got moved to a 2nd room where the AC wasn't working. Maintenance told us we had to move so they could fix. The resort didn't have anything comparable so we got downgraded to 2 queens and they gave us a resort credit. Would not go back there
I have stayed at this resort many time but this was the first time I attended a function and I was very impressed with the space, the service, the staff and the experience.
The Pointe Hilton Tapatio is a magnificent resort! Several pools, including an adult-only pool. The registration desk staff was amazingly down to earth, helpful, and happy. The front office supervisor, a male with black hair, and the bell staff, not so much.
One of the coffee shop cashier was kind enough to offer to make complimentary coffee for us when our large group arrived for a conference to check-in.
The local views of the cacti and the hills and cliffs were breathtaking!!!
The rooms were pretty nice and comfortable as well. If I visit Phoenix again I would absolutely stay here, and recommend it to others.
This is a fabulous place to stay. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and very comfortable, with a separate living area, and doors between for privacy. I absolutely loved having a balcony! The restaurants are wonderful. Room service was prompt and absolutely delicious as well. A Different Pointe of View is a must for fine dining with an exceptional view of the city. I highly recommend this resort for couples as well as families. There is a water park, but we were there in January, so it was closed.
We had such a great time! The pool that had the waterfalls was great! So relaxing and such a nice view! All of the restaurants on site were delicious too!
The room renovations are great. The outsides of the buildings could use some love. If you want a unique hotel, this is a great choice. The views from the restaurant are amazing! Make sure to get a reservation or you might have to settle for apps from the bar.
If you are looking for a family vacation this is not the place. They care more about large conferences. Our family had planned our vacation so that the last day of our stay we would spend the entire day at the main pool facilities. Without notification, they decided to close the pool for the entire day for a special event. We were told that there was a conference of 450 people and they needed to use the pool. They did not care about our family of 5. My kids were very disappointed- no water slide, no fun pool, no Children's activities because we were not part of the conference. Their website is false advertising!
They do a wonderful job with conferences - friendly and helpful service, great food, and Pancho is a special treat. Probably deserves 5 stars but I didn't partake in the whole resort experience.
The Pointe Tapatio is a great place to stay - affordable rates and beautiful hiking trails just across the street. Proximity to many popular valley haunts and the staff is fabulous. The Terrace is also a wonderful place to relax and watch the sunset!
An excellent experience all around, the staff is great and so is the facility. Everything is very well maintained and the views from the top are to die for!
According to your website it says dogs are permitted up to 70 lbs. I actually screenshot this information. You should update your website if dogs are no longer permitted.
Firstly, I never write reviews and travel frequently, so this should tell you something. I stayed here for 6 nights and I think that is a pretty long stay to make some insights. What makes this hotel a 'must stay' is the hospitality. Everything was at my request just a text away. I received the warmest service, and efficient service several times a day, for 7 days!!! Not a single instance of slow, rude, or incompetant staff (and I stayed long enough to experience many people). Restaurants, lobby, shuttle, room service...all fantastic staff. Everything was clean and well kept. If you're looking for 'new' or have issues with wall paper or a tile in th swimming pool that os dated...then just don't stay here. It's such a large hotel complex that you'll surely see it's age somewhere or general wear and tear. I barely noticed anything. But i was there for the views, service, foos, amazing pools, poolside service and jacuzzi's! For a little extra, you can book a signature suite. 1200sq feet of space. More than enough room to feel a luxurious retreat. Request building #19. All in all, the important thinga are present at this hotel. It was fabulous!!
Booked a room here last minute and chose this location because it was closer to my parents home than the JW. Mistake. Could not have been treated with a lower level of professionalism or curteousy. After pulling up to the lobby the bellman told us to pull forward to the right. We did so. Two security personnel immediately approach in an accusatory manner, pompously informing us that we shouldn't be parked where we are. We drive back to the lobby, and are told to move our cars again! I walk in - manger type approaches and asks what I need. Umm to check into my room and have my bags brought to my room? What planet are these people from? I understand this is the end of the low season, but this is supposed to be a resort! Our "remodeled room" has a door that looks like the paint is two months out before the bubbled paint begins peeling off and there is paint or something smeared on the tile inside. If I could have cancelled on the spot, I would have. We'll see if we have the energy to switch hotels tomorrow.
Quaint and cozy, this place is perfect for the weekend getaway. Excellent romantic hilltop setting, and the service you would expect from a top rated resort.
Place was old on the outside, rooms seemed updated recently and nicely done. Ate breakfast ate the restaurant and lunch and dinner once. Breakfast bar was nice, had a burger for lunch which was solid. Pizza for dinner tasted like it was a frozen pizza and not a very good one. All in all decent, but pricey. The "waterpark" was small but nice, service poolside was great. Good drinks and food at the waterpark. Visited the family pool. Nice pool and amenities, but pool had people who brought in coolers and beer, rowdy and people left empty cans and trash all over. Signs clearly marked. No alcohol, no smoking. People smoked as well. Had a feeling they were locals and not resort guests. Friends or family of hotel staff, as some staff came up to talk with some of the group and looked as though they were hanging out for a little while with them. Was very disappointing as there were young kids in the pool. Overall, the bad tarnished the good of this place. Probably not a place I'd stay again, would go to Squaw Peak instead.
i stayed here a few nights in july... had a great time, and no complaints... the pricing was pretty good... my cheeseburger cost me like 25 bucks tho for room service tho... it started at 12, but the fees, and automatic gratuity... did not care for this much... the breakfast was good... the room was very nice! dk E1
The rooms are dated, they need to put some money into updating this hotel. The TV did not work correctly, hot tubs did not work and the AC did not work correctly. I would not stay here again.
Our room was very comfortable with a nice sitting room comfortable for four. Great king sized bed. About 15 minutes from downtown Phoenix. Great restaurants and customer service. Lots of pools and hot tubs. Used room service and the food was just as good as eating in their restaurant. We will definitely be back.
Very nice resort/hotel. My kids enjoyed the pool. Friendly staff, clean rooms, soft beds, comfy premade sofa-bed. The scenic view from the View Pointe Restaurant is beautiful. Very busy during the weekends. Had a little trouble finding parking spot.
Nice rooms, comfy beds, good views if you don't mind some of the other hotel buildings in your horizon, choices of multiple pools. The only real downfall was parking. There's a large lot in the center of the property but if you want to park near your room it's all parallel parking.
Perfect business stay, unique place, beautiful views, well maintained, has mountain side rooms a bit creepy though. 15 mins to downtown. Everything was good with the stay.
What an awful experience. The same Coors light cans and empty wine glasses hung out on different floors all weekend. The elevators were broken, so I got to hike 14 stories from the lobby to my room multiple times a day. Hilton, you wonder why I won't stay. This is a premier resort that is poorly managed and sub-par for service. Shame.
I have very mixed feelings about my stay at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort. I'll start with the goods. The staff members are all very friendly and unfailingly polite. The servers out by the Falls complex are prompt and polite. When I made my reservation online through Hilton's website, I selected a Falls View suite, which was a little pricier because of the proximity to the Falls. I called the hotel to make sure I was getting what I thought, and the staff member was very helpful. I explained I have some mobility issues and that I needed to try to be mostly level with the pool complex. He assured me I was. When we checked in, our room was definitely right by the complex, but it was up a steep hill. We ended up having to switch rooms (which, again, staff was very polite and accommodating). We ended up with a suite by the Family Pool which is also very close to the Falls complex. My walk was much shorter and over much more even terrain. The pools are open early and stay open late, so that's a real bonus. The pools at the Falls are cooled, so they are very refreshing. The bad aspects are this: I ended up paying the same amount for a room with a view of a concrete wall. The rate was not adjusted. The beds were NOT Hilton quality at all. They felt more like Motel 6 beds, which was a real bummer. The couches in both rooms we had were stained and the AC in the second room really struggled. Lastly, the pools (all of the ones we saw) did not have enough seating or umbrellas. There is definitely more room to get additional chairs and umbrellas for the pool goers. At no point did the pools feel overcrowded, even though every chair was full, so I know there is more capacity to be had.
My husband and I return every year same time however this year we experienced a few things that may take us to a new place. The resort was at full capacity and did not have a pool server.. This is a vacation for us.
