Pointe Hilton Resort/Tapatio Cliffs Reviews

Arrived at 12am to find out that my room was given away and they are sending me to another hotel. I travel all the time and usually stay at starwood hotels but this time because if a conference booked the Hilton. This never happened me. I am in shock.

Made use of an educator discount to take a little staycation. The grounds aren t exactly luxurious but the hotel is after all located on the side of a mountain. Appearance wise it could use a little upgrade but the numerous pools and good sized rooms make up for it. Only minor gripe is that it s definitely not a recommended place for seniors or people with limited mobility and the big jacuzzi wasn t functioning during our stay.

Rooms are very nice and so are the staff. The resort itself is beautiful with many fountains and plants. Pools are nice and big and the ballroom is rather large and has it's own Wi-Fi.

I was attending a military formal event here and it was absolutely beautiful! The employees were very kind and took care of anything you needed. It was a great place for such a wonderful event!

I was here for a Golf Tournament at Lookout Mountain. Course was awesome from the play on the course to the view on lookout cliff shot. Everything was top notch

Nice Hilton facility. The reception had an event character so it worked hard. The rooms are very spacious and modern, have been recently renovated. The area is older and you can see it at the outdoor area. All in all a nice stay at Pointe Hilton

Property needs additional maintenance to buildings & grounds, but room was nice & location convenient to most areas of central PHX.

Wouldn't call it a 4 star hotel. Unless you spend a lot of$.

It was nice... I'm not a fan of the parking lot, the building I was in faced a mountain side..(mountain, sidewalk, room..no view)room service is more than you think it will be and the pools were nice...

Amazing views! Beautiful surroundings! Comfortable rooms. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Only thing I would say they need to work on is the towels are stiff... felt like sand paper and the sheet are old with holes in them. But we are planning to stay there again and would recommend others to as well.

The rooms are nicely appointed. We had a king suite that was spacious and clean. The hotel is built into the side of the mountain, so some rooms get an excellent view. Parking close to your building can be problematic, and you may end up walking up steep slopes. The hotel does offer free valet parking, Just be aware that you may need to take a shuttle as your room may not be in the main building. The pools are a bit dated and on the small side. The water slide was fun. It's a great place for a slow paced stay.

Absolutely Amazing! From check in to check out and everything in between.. Every staff member I had the pleasure of having contact with was more than helpful and extremely pleasant,from the front desk to housekeeping. My room was the best room I've ever stayed in in my life and extremely clean! Breakfast was hands-down amazing! I would definitely recommend this Resort and will. And I very much hope my travels will bring me back here again. Thank you all for a truly wonderful and memorable stay!

This place is overrated it,bad service, rooms are way to far from everything. Friends had to change rooms 3 times,other friend had a leak in its room

If I could give it a negative amount of stars I would. Yes. Pointe Hilton is beautiful and has many things to do and what not. I stayed 3 days and was charged $367 with a $28 fee for access to the gym and internet a day. The internet did not work at all and when I went to tell them they told me they couldn't help me. The internet wouldn't work unless I had an iPhone so why was I being charged for internet that didn't even work? That's not the worst part though! At check out I was being charged $19.68 for liquor I had "purchased" at the cascade in The Falls pool site. First off, I don't drink to begin with but I know that as someone they didn't know and I was just another guest of theirs they wouldn't believe me. They showed me the receipt and it had my name, suite number, and card information but the signature was not mine! I told them to compare the signature on the papers when I checked in and the one on the receipt and they didn't want to. They knew the time the purchase was made and I wanted to see the cameras at that time and day but they wouldn't show me. It had to be someone who worked there because how would they have my card information, my name, and suite number? I am back home now and I get a call from my bank asking me if I had made some purchases shown on their records. I Iogged into my phone app and I didn't make any of those purchases! This has never happened to me and it all started ever since I checked in here. I truly believe there is dishonest and thieves there! They didn't want to show me anything else and insisted that I pay it and since it was my information it was me. They are fraudulent! I would not recommend staying here unless you want your money stolen from you! Worst experience of my life!

The room are dirty bedding hadn t been fully changed ,bug shells in living food on walls

Great service, rooms clean and roomy, 8 different pools to swim in, water park on the grounds, beautiful scenery. We will definitely go back.

We have done a few staycations here. Beautiful property, great staff, and the restaurants are amazing.

Very nice, modern room in a desert location. Golf carts and buses to get you around the hotel "campus." Nice hiking right off the grounds. Multiple pools, gym, spa, golfing, restaurants, etc.

My daughter went for a soccer tournament and thought it was great. I on the other hand had an awful experience. I was out of town and had to cancel my reservation and sent it in through their website. I never received confirmation that they cancelled so I called when I got back in town the day before our initial reservation to make sure. The front desk told me it would be taken care of and 6 days later I was charged for a "late cancellation of $25 which I expected and an additional $188 for the late cancellation. When I called the front desk couldn't help me and sent me to a voicemail of someone they said may or may not be in and they weren't sure when they would be in. I left the voicemail and didn't get a response for three days. In the meantime I tried their website again and left a message. Once again, there was no clarification that they received the message or not. Once on the phone with Jill, she was unhelpful and wouldn't refund me she said "without proof" and told me I need to contact the tournament directors. I did and they ended up telling me it needs to be handled by the Hotel and not them. So here I am fighting over $188.00. Most hotels would handle this with class and dignity and quit acting like it is $1.8 million dollars and keep the customers happy versus choosing to lose a customer and get bad publicity/reviews.

Been come here for 27 years and it has seen better days. The pools need to be cleaned up and some better and different food choices would be good. We will not be going back as the place is getting run down...but the people working there are very nice

We have stayed at the Tapitio Cliffs for over 10 years now. The last couple times here it has completely gone down hill. The room stunk like smoke. We had two rooms and one vehicle, came back to room around 9 pm at night from a long day at the Grand Canyon absolutely not one parking space in the whole resort. They let guests have more then one vehicle plus their guests park right by their room. You are suppose to have a parking pass in the window of your car this is not enforced. Partying in pools after the 11pm hour. Had to call and ask them to send Security to get them out so we could sleep. Worst part when my husband went to complain to Mgr. of Resort about the parking he was treated horribly by Security like he was a threat . My husband and I are transferring to another Hilton Property and will not be back. EVER.

They all get a raving 5 star review. From the time we first stepped in to the time we left they made my mother s birthday epic. My mother felt so special and this stay truly made her Birthday. She will certainly be back! I would personally like to thank Evan for the amazing tour, he knows that property like the back of his hand, Vince (the handsome one), Favi for providing all the necessary information and texting to let us know you were their to help, and lastly Brian (Steve Nash) - greatness at your fingertips. My mother and I are both in the service business and we haven t had customer service like this in years. So thank you all!!! We will definitely be back.

My mom and I had a staycation here (since its relatively close to our home) for the 4th of July, and overall it was a great experience! We had an awesome room with a really gorgeous view from our balcony, and I loved how close we were to the presidential pool, which I had never been to before and was really surprised by how small and private it was. Our room was very comfortable, the shower was nice, and I loved the LED lighting that surrounded the bathroom mirror. Checking in also was super effortless, and the staff were friendly and super attentive to me and always made sure I was taken care of. I will definitely come back here again, because being here truly felt like being home away from home!

Room was a little dated but our stay was good. Pool area is packed.

This place is not family friendly. Do not bring your children with you here. There was a fight that broke out in one of the community pools and security couldn t even contain it. When I called the front desk and explained my concern of not feeling safe all he could do was apologize and said it was being handled. I had asked him if he could switch me or help me book into a different Hilton hotel and he said no. My son and I ended up staying since we had already paid but I did think about leaving and just cutting my loses and finding a quieter hotel. It is now 12:17 AM and one of the rooms around me is having a party and smoking marijuana and I can smell it through the vents. This was a horrible choice of a Resort and is more equivalent to a high dollar motel. If you are considering staying here reconsider.

Gorgeous getaway, wishing there were more adult only areas. I would reserve the Pointe of View way ahead of time, as it's difficult to get a table. Stayed here 4 days and there were no reservations available the whole time.

Ants in room after getting situated so had to move to another room, nothing in return for our inconvenience which was surprising being an HH member. Besides the Ants, room was nice.

Awesome resort, with amazing views!! We took the complimentary shuttle and we told the driver we wanted to get some pics of the city and he took us up near their "fine dining" restaurant and the view did not disappoint! Awesome view of Phoenix at night! The rooms were well kept and everything was clean! Will definitely consider/recommend this resort to other people!

Overall I was very pleased with the resort. The room was spacious and comfortable. The grounds beautiful and well kept. I thought room service was a bit pricey but i think the cost of living here is driving that. All of the hotel staff had been kind and helpful.

Loved this resort!! Next time though I would ask for a room bit by the 24/7 family pool!!!

Good sleeping arangments, but the walls were too thin , the bathroom didn't have any extra circulation, and the pool didn't have much to do.

Pretty nice place till you start to really look around. Found three different crickets in our room. Broken tiles. Shower was broken. Bed sheets dirty. Pool in need of repair. Not worth the high end price.

Wonderful staff and what a great place for a staycation

I had a conference and the venue was perfect. Everything was clean and well taken care of. The staff was friendly and helpful. I hope to attend another conference at this location.

The resort was great I called down for a few things. I dont think they could of been nicer. I called the got me in for much earlier check in without any problems whatsoever. Room was very clean and nice.

Great resort....lots to do. Especially kid friendly....will come back.....had Ambassador Suite....very nice.

Kind of a dirty place due to certain guests. The hotel and staff do a good job and trying to keep it clean.. Great experience for the kids that is close to home. Not worth the money to upgrade the room. Parking is a nightmare.

This resort is very unique. The rooms are all pressed right in to the side of the nearby mountainside. So much so that some rooms open to a desert landscape.

We really enjoyed our stay here while visiting Phoenix. I got a great teacher discount that was advertised on Facebook which made our stay even sweeter. Our suite was beautiful, the grounds and pools were excellent and we had an excellent dinner at the on site restaurant A Different Pointe of View. We enjoyed the cliffs and had a rental car so we didn't take advantage of the grounds shuttle but I imagine it would be great for people that didn't want the walks. We enjoyed a delicious room service breakfast and some drinks at Cascades pool side bar in the Falls water park area. We tried to experience the waterslide a few times but they were understaffed since we stayed on Wednesday-Friday. If you stayed on the weekend I'm sure you could experience it.

We used a Groupon and had a little stay-cation. It was a blast. Plenty to keep the kids busy! The grounds were clean and inviting, as was the guest room. This is probably my lack of a sense of direction, but the grounds are huge and I kept getting turned around...or lost, as my kids called it. More signs would have been helpful. But that could just be me.

Went her last night for our wedding anniversary to get away from kids for the night. We did not ask for a anniversary package but when checking in with the front desk we mentioned it was not expecting anything just conversation. We left our room to go to the pool and when we got back there was champagne on ice, glasses and a plate of chocolate covered strawberries and a card that said happy anniversary . My husband and I were super surprised. This little act of kindness made our night a little extra special. Thank you Pointe Hilton and your excellent staff. We will definitely return and let everyone know what a great establishment you have.

It is like beautiful as maze on the mountains. Full of art such for building itself. Swimming pool are great tok

Dingy and old. Especially the bathroom. The room is quite large but it's in need of an update. I can see that they're working on that with other rooms.

I tried this hotel after being told of the teacher summer package. The view and location is simply beautiful. The front desk and staff were extremely polite. I love the text feature available to request anything from the hotel. The pool/water park area was very appropriate for my 2 year old. Just like any hotel, food is a bit pricey but there's stores available down the street. I enjoyed my stay and will be returning.

There was food in the room when we got there so it was obviously not cleaned well.
