Pointe Hilton Resort/Tapatio Cliffs Reviews

I've stayed at this hotel three times over the last 5 years. Great service and very pleasurable overall. Just recently I got a flat tire on 7th St, between Peoria and Thunderbird and had to pull into Pointe Hilton parking lot to change my tire. Come to find out that the person who sold me the van grabbed the car jack and spare (I should have checked to see if it was there) and so I was left with no way to change my tire and almost forced to call a tow truck.
I had to leave the car overnight as all tire shops were closed in the area.
John, (The hotel's manager) was kind enough to let me keep my van in the parking lot until the next morning when I could solve the problem. Now he DID NOT have to be nice, but he was! I am very grateful for him saving me the tow money it would have taken to get my van out of the parking lot.

Thank you John! You're a lifesaver! I will be returning to your hotel in late fall for a gathering and I will continue to recommend Pointe Hilton to all my friends!

Very nice place. Goid food, good service, nice pools

Well we'll never go back. Fun resort one day, they don't care and good luck finding someone to care the next. Old frozen food left in the refrigerator, shower was hot or HOT, safe didn't open, staff parks in the middle of the driveway and dishes after room service take 2 days to get picked up. Spoke to management weeks later and was told, "this is not normal". Was offered a free cabana on our next visit. Respectfully decliend.

Always clean and beautiful. Take my kids there to swim. Its perfect for families

The hotel has great views from the rooms. I have stayed here multiple times now and have always had a great view. This time around we spent most of our time out at the pool. Pool side staff was great. Service and drinks were mixed perfect. The kids loved the water slide. Overall the staff is very welcoming, the drinks are cold and the food is very good.

The service is great, the room is beautiful and the view is amazing. Its quite a maze to navigate, but the best place to relax and enjoy some time in Phoenix.

Rooms are beautiful, property is beautiful, and the staff is first class. I was there for a conference and they did a great job made us feel like we owned the place. If you are in Phoenix this is the place to stay.

I really don't have any complaints about the staff as much as I have about the unexpected added price points as well as the lack of information about the remodelling of the hotel while we were there. I also can't begin to imagine why you would pay this kind of money and not get a decently cleaned room as well as included breakfast. I paid less for a better hotel downtown and had breakfast included.

The room had hairs in the bed as well as the sink and the bathtub was nasty with grease stains.

I also had to pay for a bell boy, who didn't even help us with the bags. Correct me If I'm wrong but isn't that fee for a staff member who helps with bags? I had two large suitcases which I dragged myself. This I had to pay for. It's unacceptable.

The resort fee we shouldn't even begin to discuss. It's rude to take that fee out when our nearest pool was inaccessible due to remodeling. If you want to make extra money, just put it into the room fees and be honest about them beforehand. This was just a plain rip off.

I will never visit any hilton facilities after this.

Overall nice resort situated literally in a mountain. Great amenities and views. Rooms are nice. But there's too many hills that you need to traverse to get around the resort.

Pictures are very misleading. At one point you can tell this was a very upscale and well kept resort. On arrival you can see that the resort needs ground work, cosmetic repairs etc... One of the pools was extremely dirty. Some people will read this review, and and ignore everything in this review based off the pics they have on the website..... T A K E MY A D V I C E!!! We got there and tried to consider it but we just couldn't stay... Ended up getting refunded and stayed at The Boulders Resort and Spa<--(amazing resort!!!!!!) for the week.

Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff was very helpful. The fall off was with the food service. Wait times for dinner were
1.5hrs. Breakfast 45 min. Unacceptable waste of time.

Rooms are huge and clean. Staff has been very helpful and polite. The food is great at the restaurants. The only complaint I have is that food takes forever to come out at all the restaurants. I may not order food again after waiting so long today.

A. C. Issues. Hot room with ants. Had to relocate, and were assigned a room poolside to kids pool. Very noisy.

We had a beautiful view of the mountains and valley. The golf course was challenging and fun. Every employee we encountered was polite, attentive and positive. The location is also close to some great hiking trails.

Not for the faint of heart. The entire complex is built hillside. If you don't want to climb up and down, shuttle service is available around the resort.

I am a Hilton girl forever. I have never stayed anywhere else since I was 18. This weekend 25/26 I booked a room at the resort to celebrate of one year (birthday) of sobriety from alchohol . I picked the Hton because they always treat you like family. A special occasion calls for a special hotel. Oxo

HORRIBLE first night fire alarm went off every 2 hours for 15 .minutes starting at 1130 pm! We called front desk no answer... This use to be a nice place...not any more. Will never stay here again. They did offer to move us at 3:15 am....

Wife and I stopped for drinks at the bar. They were great and it was a really nice restaurant. Wish I could've ordered something off the menu.

great place that's uniquely beautiful. Great pools all over the place and across the street to wonderful hiking trails. I took off a star because the walls seem thin. Could use some soundproofing.

The room was not very well kept, there were soda bottles letf behind the couch from previous guests. Also were located so far up the mountain we had to hike to get anywhere. Overall it was not a very relaxing vacation.

Merrell at the front desk was pivotal in setting up our stay to have the best experience. She was able to get our rooms together and make it very convenient to be near the rest of our party. The falls cabana staff was great, Danielle really took care of us and made the day very enjoyable. We'll continue to be back next year as usual.

We had a great room, very clean and updated. Right next to a water fall. Fun to hear. Pool was clean. Lots of things to do nearby. We got a massage, went golfing, ate at D. P. O. V. and walked the trails. Highly recommend this place!

2 Blink charging stations conveniently located near the lobby with decent signage.

Stayed here for 5 days on one of the best vacations of my life. From the lobby to the highest point in the resort was an 800 foot elevation change but if you don't want to climb they run shuttles. The staff and amenities were excellent.

This place is in dire need of an update, maintenance, more staff, etc. It is way overpriced based on the facilities. The photos on the internet are not reflective of the place. I was way under the wrong impression and booked 3 nights, but only stayed one because it was too late to cancel my reservation.

Love the look, style and feel of this resort. Clean resort and rooms and staff is very helpful. The only thing I would change is parking and make roadways wider. I almost witnessed several accidents and tried to be careful myself but was nervous driving through there. If I could I would give 4.5 stars.

Loved this massive resort. I really booked it for the many outdoor pools in the grounds, but I loved our room. It did feel far away from some places, but I would come back and stay here again!

We stayed at this hotel due to a band event. We brought over 300 people to this hotel. They were very accommodating to all our needs. The staff is very friendly the room were all Suites. I would recommend this hotel.

Great mini getaway! We stayed here during a baseball tournament for my son (with our family of 7) and it was so nice! The kids had a great time in the various pools and the room was big enough for all of us. We had two queen beds and a pull-out sofa (our baby slept in a pack-n-play - which there was plenty of room for). The resort was kept up very well, the staff was friendly, the accommodations were great. I LOVED that there was a mini Starbucks in the lobby.

Awesome resort however be prepared for tons of walking up and down the huge hills. Other than that the units are great!

Location is pretty and nestled in the cliffs. Though there are 400 people here for an event it still feels private. The staff are great!

Stayed at the resort for business. Loved the grounds and desert landscaping. Be sure and visit the restaurants. The quality of food and furnishings are outstanding. Enjoyed walking the grounds taking in the mountain view.

The hotel is beautiful. The waterslide is fun and several people played water volleyball. The views from each room are great. The hotel offers a golf cart shuttle service to get around this huge property, which is great because the hills are really big and it can be a workout trying to get from the pool to your room. Main pool closes around 7 and the other 8 pools close at 11. Great family trip.

An unusual layout. Easy to get lost. Friendly staff with a nice restaurant attached to the property. The fitness center is somewhat lacking but the rooms are spacious. I have always had a good experience in the 3 or 4 times I have stayed here.

Nice resort with amazing pools, great way to staycation!

Of course the view was amazing, but the food and service was top notch. The staff was friendly and responsive. They even customized our dessert for our anniversary. We will eat here again The waygu steak appetizer was fork tender, the chef's special was grilled halibut. It was pricy, but well worth it.

This was the worst stay of my life. I paid 800.00 plus for a fake security guard to treat me like I broke into the resort. The toilet was clogged, the wet bar had a stench that was out of this world. They had to a treat it twice and the smell never went away. Security was rude said he received complaints that we where loud. We turned music off he came back saying we where still loud yet her could not hear us at the bottom of the stairs.I was so Upset I packing my food and left I felt harassed. When asked to talk to the manager I spoke to Brian- he assured me that he had not received any complaints and apologized, begged us to stay and told me he would no bill me for one night . I advised him I was leaving and would return tomorrow to pick up my belonging. He stated no problem if we did decide to stay or go there would be not charge. Returned to pick up my belonging Bryan gone home for day but had not advised day staff of the credit for one night. I asked what time he would be in and told them I would come back. Went back to talk to Bryan in person at 3pm he shared with me that his boss would not let him credit the room because we left out item there. I reminded him of our conversation and he agreed but said his boss over rode his decision. I told him that was not the agreement and it was not fair to me . because if that was the deciding factor we could have took our items with us. I disputed the charge called corporate never hear back.....The worst service no customer service, and they should honor the agreement that the manager made with me. I am a Hilton reward member Normally I stay at a Hilton property about twice a month. I will not stay at any of their properties EVER again.

Although for the most part things went well there were a few that kept us from giving 5 stars. For example there were quite a few areas that were missing grout by the shower. Also there was a crack in the tile right in right of the toilet.
We had significant issues with the wifi that kept disconnecting us from important calls several time. We had to sit directly in front of the router. We called and they were going to send someone to look at it, but it started working briefly so we cancelled the request. Unfortunately, we kept having the problems and just didn't feel like requesting someone again.
Overall, these are the only things that kept us from giving a 5 star rating. We look forward to visiting again.

My mini vacation was a bust!!!This is a nice looking resort as far as scenic, but that s where it stops!!! I reserved 4 rooms we had family flying in and requested to be in the same building it didn t happen; we had to wait till 5:15 for our room to be ready. The formal restaurant was closed Saturday because of an event at least inform me when I make reservations. When I found out, they asked if I asked if it was open at the time of reservations. like I would assume they would be closed, then the next day guess what it was closed again!! We had to leave the resort for fine dining get a taxi ECT.... the adult pool was closed for the event also!!!! OH AND the bar by the pool was closed the only thing that was open was the front desk to take your money!!! this is a event type of resort even if you have a large party 4 rooms the service was very poor the vans that drove you around were old and the seats were torn, gross looking, and you waited 15 to 20 minutes to be picked up and the drivers were not very a nice get in and get out attitude. I expressed this all of this at check out and got oh well sorry. A poor stay = won't stay there AGAIN. They are not living upto the hilton name.

Beautiful resort. With water falls and a golf course and a huge pool spa area. It looks like a small street in Tuscany. Great place to get away. Forgot towels in our room though. But they were swift to correct their mistake.

I absolutely loved it! The view is great! The rooms are nice and clean and refreshing! The food is to die for! The service is top notch! I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who is in the area or who needs a getaway

This is an amazing Hotel! The accommodations are really nice the only thing I would complain about is the parking. I love how they treat everyone as if they are a valued guest and the pool is beyond words.

This was the WORST Hilton Resort I have visited. We walked into our room and my daughter shrieks at the number of bugs we found in the bathroom tub. The management moved us to another room and we found the bedroom TV was not working (no picture). I had to unplug the TV and re-plug it in to get the picture to work. Their were numerous tile around the pool missing and dangerously sharp. We stayed one night and checked out. I am a hilton honor member and have visited a number of there properties. I was totally shocked by this experience.

The staff was wonderful and helpful in every way possible. I don't usually give 5 stars to anything because there's always room for improvements, but my stay here was great

Not a place I would stay again when in town. Booked it through a popular hotel site. The room was $230 a night and I stayed 7 nights.

Upon arrival and check in, I'm told there's an additional $35 a night resort fee. What? Why? I asked what I get and the clerk handed me a card. He told me I'm getting over $100 a day in value so what does this entail? Free WiFi, valued at $29.95 a day. Free local calls. Use of their laundry facility. Mind you, it still costs money to use the machines but Hilton considers that of value, and finally you get discounts on their overpriced gift shops.

The internet connection was spotty at best and the highest speed my laptop got was just under 5mb. It was painful just watching a web page load.

The towels were cheap, old and thin. The room, although somewhat spacious is showing it's age. The hotel roof has Spanish tiles which are in desperate need of replacement.

Add an additional $75 a night incidental charge which hits your credit card right away and it just feels like this place wants to nickel and dime you to death before checking out.

The staff is nice so I added an additional star there but I would hardly consider this a 4 star hotel. If so, this is the worst 4 star hotel I've ever stayed at on par with about a 2.5 star resort.

Consider staying elsewhere unless paying less than $100 a night, including the insulting resort fee.

Beware of this hotel. I tried using Groupon for a 2 night stay. Groupon said that I would save 43% which looked very good. When I check out however, I was charged a resort fee which the hotel attendant said was not covered by Groupon. So, after all that was said and done, I ended paying full-fare for this stay. I did give feedback for Groupon for this same issue.

Fantastic. Loved all the hiking/jogging trails nearby. Staff was very helpful in recommending activities on and off site.

Very friendly staff, great small suite, well designed, nice pools. Easy to get anywhere from the hotel. Only negative, the little streets were tight to navigate and a little confusing at first. Wouldn't keep us from going back for sure!

I've attended several events here over the years and I've always found the staff to be professional and helpful. The grounds are always well maintained and and the restaurant good. Albeit a bit overpriced for what you receive.

I loved going to this location. I would give it a. 5 but the crowds, caused some issues with cleanliness that were off putting.
