The dinner at the Carolina dining room was delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly, and the carrots and mashed potato sides were excellent. Creme brulee finished the meal, and it was outstanding.

Pinehurst is definitely not the place it once was! The service used to be stellar, the cleanliness was next to none, and you felt like you were somewhere prestigious. It is obvious the care that once took center stage here no longer exists. A lot of employees act like they couldn t care less about their job, and unfortunately, resort guests. I believe the management in place now needs to take a hard look at what Pinehurst truly is and why people return year after year. Name only goes so far, and if the resort is allowed to continue in this downward spiral, I can only imagine what will happen to occupancy and revenue. Remember, people make the difference!
Amazing place for a golf get away. Only complaint is the older buildings can be noisy at night so bring some earplugs. Also, the course lost my favorite golf towel.
The general feel is of elitism. I am fine with fancy, but I didn't like the feeling that most of the guests aired of superiority. The housekeeping staff and waitstaff were nice and earnest at least. The front desk was so-so. The breakfast buffet was standard fare for a decent hotel's free breakfast plus smoked salmon, but the scrambled eggs which were labeled as farm fresh were definitely reconstituted powdered eggs, and was over $60 for two! We would never pay that much for what it was. Twice in our single night stay our cards deactivated and we had to trek back to the front desk (not fun with a toddler and preschooler in tow) to have it fixed. Then, while packing up, I FOUND A MAGGOT crawling on the edge of the paper cup cover. We didn't bring food in and were only there one night, so it must have been there before we came in. Otherwise the room felt clean. I told the front desk about it and showed her a picture I took of it when we checked out and all she had to say was "ew, gross!". No assurance it would be handled, no offer for our breakfast to be comped or discounted or anything. Never had that in lower class hotels. Of all the places we have been, this is the only one we would not consider returning to.
Phenomenal! Tremendous! The resort accommodations, golf courses, spa, ALL staff members courtesy, Southern charm, menu, food, wine choices are above and beyond exquisite! Pinehurst is truly an awesome place to visit and/or retire.
Minnie in the grooming area was amazing, she took extra care of my golden retriever and Springer spaniel and it was done in a decent amount of time due to me being just a walk in so kudos to her she deserves a raise! I will be back and she has my business!
I have stayed in cleaner hotels at college spring break. When I walked in my room, I noticed it was half clean, garbage was still in the can, a foot joy box was out, receipts and the key envelop were on the counter and wet towels were on the bathroom floor and shower was not cleaned but wet from the last shower. I called the front desk, they tried to find me a different room and couldn't so the offered me a $50 coupon if I left for a little while. I thought that was great - mistakes happen.
When I returned, all the garbage was still there but the shower was clean and wet towels taken away. I was really mad at this point - I called the front desk, and heard them bumble around saying nothing. I put the garbage in the hall and went to bed. Not happy now.
The next morning I look for the soap to take a shower. There was no soap, so I get into the shower with the intent to just use shampoo. Beyond disappointment. Then, I find the soap, it was wet and sitting on the last guest wet wash cloth. I was disgusted.
If you stay here, remember, you really have to ride the staff to get what is just normal Motel 6. They showed little interest in any of this.
Was actually working on the new ball room so I can't give a true review. Metal framing plywood and drywall in the ceilings in case anyone was wondering.
This was my first time attending this annual event, and I have to say that I do not plan to miss another! The accommodations are 1st class. There was an issue with our reservation initially, but mgmt was on it and it was resolved very quickly! The food and staff are beyond awesome! The town is quaint with great shops! Can't wait until next year
This is a magical place. The Pinehurst Plantation has 9 full courses and the Craddle which is a par 3 course. In addition to all of these golf courses, the putting green! Imagine 3 basketball courts placed next to each other and then this putting green is larger than that. They even have an 18 hole putting course called the Thistle. Takes about 30-45 minutes to play. This place is like the Masters on Steroids except you get to play. I could write paragraphs about each course. 1 and 5 are the cheaper course and recommended to play before moving on to the other course. 3 is a Donald Ross design but it s an executive shorter course. 4,6,7,8, and 9 are all 275 to play and are quite challenging. 4 is under construction and will be open in Fall of 2018. And then there is 2. 485 to play, Donald Ross design - and by that I mean the turtle shell greens. If you don t stick them you roll off of all sides. You should walk and the fescue is gorgeous. Again paragraphs could be written. You can stay on the property or just off the property. Pinehurst area has so many golf courses. Highly recommend.
Great experience. Played #2, 4 and 8. The staff was great. Paired me up as a single with a group of great guys from Pittsburgh the entire weekend. I won't ever forget it. Also, Get a Caddie for #2. Great stories and advice. Every golfer should do this at least once.
This place is great for white rich people. If that doesn't describe you, this place is drenched in white privilege and bigotry. Went to wedding with my friend who is a doctor and happens to be of a darker complexion and he was asked several times by other guests if he would fetch their luggage or grab them some menus. He took it well enough, but come on people.
