Overall great experience but the The Carolina Rest...

Overall great experience but the The Carolina Restaurant and part of the management staff wrecked half of my stay. I stayed in the resort and ate at the Carolina on Friday night. My NY strip had a bone in it (there should be bones in NY Strip) and I cracked my tooth. Tyler Herbst and Ed Peckels assured me the right thing would be done. In the end, I got a free meal and a reassurance of not getting shrugged off. As of today, I have been shrugged off, charged the full amount for my stay (after asking for some compensation), had my tooth repaired and haven't heard from anyone from the resort. I was told by Ed that their insurance company would contact me and I emailed Tyler, Ed and the GM (Scott Brewton) on Saturday afternoon. After being a guest at the resort 6 or 7 times over the last 10 years, I was foolish enough to believe they actually cared about their guests satisfaction. Lesson learned!

After eating at Longhorns (5 minutes away) the night before, I can attest there NY strip is better, with no bones and a cheaper price!!

Pinehurst is a bucket list destination for golfers. Just a Mecca in the middle of North Carolina. Moore golf courses than you can count. But #2 Is the real treat. One of the worlds best golf courses. The new "Cradle" par 3 course is a delight to play, and is adjacent to the new putting green, which is several acres of rolling madness. These greens are QUICK!
I love Pinehurst, and so does my wife!

Pinehurst is a uniquely beautiful place that is green year round and the air is pinescented. The people and staff here are extraordinarily accommodating and friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs. High class and high quality but not exceedingly expensive. Check out Thistle Du and the Cradle and maybe rent pedal assist bikes (10$/day) and ride to the arboretum like we did! I come back here twice a year with my fam. It's a healing place.

A spectacular experience was had by all in our family trip to Pinehurst. A special thanks to John at the check in desk. The entire facility, restaurants, brewery, swimming pools, condo #137, golf and everything was great.

Excellent, superb facilities. We went for a military ball so only got a little golf in. We are definitely planning a trip back. Beautiful looking clay courts also. Great shops within walking distance or by hotel shuttle.

The staff is incredibly attentive and service oriented. The food is excellent, and you can't beat the breakfast buffet, and of course the amenities (golf, spa) are awesome. The conference rooms are great as well. The guest rooms are a little dated however, and feel less luxurious than a decent Holiday Inn. Guest room refreshing would easily put this at a 5.

DUPED BY PINEHURST--BUYER BEWARE!

DUPED BY PINEHURST--BUYER BEWARE!
We booked a room at this resort (where we visited once many years ago). Upon making the reservation, I requested a room in the Carolina House (main building), where we had stayed previously. The reservationist said that The Carolina House was full but that she would place our family of four in the Holly House (within walking distance of the resort; I am familiar with). I agreed to this. The day of our arrival comes. A woman called my husband that day and informed him that she is "UPGRADING" us to a condo on the property. My husband (who was trying to finish his workday so that we could leave for our 6-8 hour drive ahead on Labor Day friday) thanked her. When we arrived in Pinehurst at 12:30am in torrential rain from Harvey, after an exhausting 8 hour drive, we were informed that our "upgrade" was several miles away, given a room #, and sent away with directions on an index card. We make our way over there (very dark, unlit roads/apartment complex), only to discover that our "upgraded" room # does not exist! The number that was given to us (1224), is not an existing unit at all! So, we head back to the main resort, Carolina House. We come to learn that the number "1" was symbolic for this condo/apartment area, and that our actual unit was 224. We were ultimately escorted by a kind security guy in a pick-up truck who was embarrassed that even he had difficulty seeing the unit numbers, unlit apartment, etc. After carrying all of our own luggage up the flights of rickety/wooden steps (apartment units built in the 80s for sure), we entered the musty, moldy smelling unit, only to find dead bugs on the floor throughout and four tiny twin beds (very European). The young man at the front desk at 1:00am, though friendly, was not a manager and was unable to do anything to help us. The fact that there is not a night manager on duty in a hotel like this is, in itself, concerning. I am giving one star because we eventually got moved to the Carolina House for our second night because someone no-showed. However, this was a huge hassle overall. BOTTOM LINE: Be very leary if offered a "free upgrade" from this place. We felt tricked and very disappointed. If you are not staying in the Carolina House/Holly House, save your money and stay at the Springfield Suites or Comfort Inn in nearby town.

About Pinehurst Resort

Pinehurst Resort: The Cradle of American Golf

If you're a golf enthusiast, then you've probably heard of Pinehurst Resort. Located in the heart of North Carolina, this historic resort has been dubbed "The Cradle of American Golf" for good reason. With nine world-class golf courses and a rich history dating back to 1895, Pinehurst is a golfer's paradise.

But Pinehurst isn't just for golfers. The resort offers a wide range of activities and amenities that make it the perfect destination for families, couples, and solo travelers alike. From spa treatments to horseback riding to tennis and croquet, there's something for everyone at Pinehurst.

Accommodations at Pinehurst are equally impressive. Guests can choose from rooms in the historic Carolina Hotel or one of several villas scattered throughout the property. Each room is elegantly appointed with all the modern conveniences you'd expect from a luxury resort.

Of course, it's the golf that draws most visitors to Pinehurst. With nine courses designed by some of the biggest names in golf course architecture – including Donald Ross and Tom Fazio – there's no shortage of challenging holes and breathtaking views.

One course that stands out among them all is Course No. 2 – often referred to as "the masterpiece." It's widely considered one of the best courses in the world.

But don't let Course No. 2 overshadow some of Pinehurst's other gems – like Course No. 4 (designed by Tom Fazio) or Course No. 8 (a Jack Nicklaus signature design). Each course offers its own unique challenges and rewards.

Beyond golfing itself though lies an experience unlike any other - The Cradle short course which opened on September 30th ,2017 . This par-3 layout features holes ranging from just over fifty yards up to around one hundred yards long with greens varying between circular shapes , square shapes , rectangular shapes etc . It’s perfect for beginners looking to get into golf or experienced players who want something different .

When it comes time to relax after your round(s), head over to The Spa at Pinehurst where you can indulge in everything from massages to facials to body treatments using locally sourced ingredients like pine needles and honeycomb .

And if you're feeling hungry after all that activity? You won't be disappointed with dining options available on site - whether it’s casual fare at The Deuce or fine dining at Carolina Dining Room .

In conclusion,Pinehurt Resort is truly an exceptional destination offering unparalleled experiences both on & off-course .
