Amazing place to spend my anniversary. Everything was beyond expectations which as a chef are already high. I will be returning here again and again. Very happy

Great place for sunset dinners. Even if not right on the glass, views ate great. Plan on $40 to. $50 per plate. Get the mud pie. Leave room.

Loved it! The service is outstanding! Cherry was so patient and smiling with our picky orders. The food was great, we had an unforgettable experience.

I very rarely rate anywhere 5 stars, but this place deserves it. Beautiful views, the best service and if you are looking for Molcajate you will not find any better on this side of the border than Ventana's Arrachera Steak & Shrimp Molcajete and don't forget their fresh hand made tortillas.

Wow. Fresh, delicious and not too expensive. Wish a restaurant like this would be everywhere. Walking distance from a couple of hotels. Relaxing with a bar. Busy place, of course and right on Pismo Beach.

Food place very good and fair price. Worth it also for the beautiful look and ride after eating. Several seagulls, pelicans and even rabbit. We stopped on the way from LA to SF.

3 hour drive to get to here, but worth the drive. I personal love the seafood pasta and the chowder soup. Staff is really friendly and manager was really helpful and reasonable when I my order got messed up. The view is incredible from inside with the patio allowing you to get an even better look.

The hospitality was fabulous. We ordered to go but it was lukewarm. Not really unexpected for to go food. Beautiful views!

We were there Oct 17th 2013...and yes it's pricey...especially when the only thing that is edible on your main plate is the meat. And to serve beans and rice with steak?...how ghetto ..( and before any one comments about that..let me say I have eaten in 24 different countries..including many developing ones..and had better food..food that goes together and compliments each other for the whole dish...so I am no snob).
One good point..the shrimp cocktail was very good..lots of shrimp and a good sauce..but alas the rest of the experience..including a bottle of a rather ordinary tasting red wine priced 300% higher than street value....was somewhat disappointing.
I don't mind the cost if the food was somewhere in the good to great range...but here it is not.
I would not recommend this place..unless you are a person who thinks good food is only reflected by the price you pay.

Honestly worth the experience a bit of a wait but definitely worth the overall expenses. Great food, great service, just not everything I was expecting.

DO NOT EAT THEIR PORK!!! Nice atmosphere. Was served undercooked pork, with dimm lighting did not realize it until I had a few bites. 3 weeks later got sick due to trichinosis, a parasite present in raw pork. Called and emailed a couple of times to alert them since that is a reportable disease. Bill the manager had no clue what trichinosis is, basically told me there is no way to 2 are related...well they are. After 2 weeks of being sick trying to figure out the cause I got treatment and feeling a lot better. Bill the manager never got back to me to ensure me the team has been properly trained on how to properly cook pork....just toldme that I was the only one that had this issue. Go back to December on reviews and there are more reports of undercooked pork.

The food, staff and views were amazing! We didn't quite realise how much food we were going to get though ... portion sizes are much bigger than the UK!
We had the calamari and wings for starter ... both were awesome. Then a steak and burger for mains, which were both delicious. They also give you rice and beans as an extra ... they were so good I could've just had bowl fulls of them!
Staff were lovely, food is beautiful and reasonably priced for what you get. A fab experience :)

Best Nachos ever! Huge portion for a fair price. Burgers and wedges were also great!

Nice setting overlooking the ocean, imaginative menu and tasty food, the El Jeffe margarita is excellent. Needs a bit of refurbishment.

A delightful experience each and every time. The food is absolutely delectable, especially the halibut tacos. Drinks are also very well made. All of this accompanied by perhaps the best view of the Pacific at any Central coast eatery.

My mom and i loved eating there at Ventana Grill. I had this salad called " Chopped Chicken". It was delicious! Thank you again Vetana Grill. We had a very nice waitress.

$50 for an amazing buffet and bottomless mimosas. It includes crab legs and shrimp, the desserts are amazing and they do fresh tortillas. Wonderful service as well.

With the excellent food, excellent view, and amazing staff it's hard not to use Ventana Grill as an excuse to visit Pismo.

The restaurant is walkable distance from the nearby hotels. You can put the name down and come back to the hotel and wait for them to text you. There is a path along the sea shore cliff from hotel to the restaurant, which is very beautiful! The mocajete is way too salty for me! The dishes probably are better for family style.

No service at all. Fish taco was dry. Nothing special. Don't understand why people gave them five stars.

This place is spectacularly special.... seriously get a bottle and enjoy the sunset!

We had appetizers dinner and desert and everything was absolutely amazing.

Fantastic staffs. Great food. Amazing view. Everyone made us feel welcome and respected. We had so much fun here. After dinner,took out wine out to the deck and hung out with the birds, breeze n the ocean.

This is one of my favorite restaurants on the Central Coast! Amazing views, innovative menu, good service, and good drinks. I had the sunflower encrusted sea bass last night, but basically everything on their menu (including the $13 chorizo/beef burger with fries) is excellent.

Its great! Samantha is so knowledgeable and has an amazing attitude. And the food was delicious.

The view is outstanding and the drinks are wonderful. The event room is perfect. Steven is a great bartender.

I m vegetarian and I ve had to eat here three times due to work dinners. It s a beautiful location but they aren t accommodating of vegetarians. They have an enchilada dish on the menu and it s the worst enchilada dish I ve had in my life. The sauce is bitter and doesn t taste good at all! Very disappointing because I know I ll end up back here for another work meal soon :(

Today was a special day for me and my husband, it was our anniversary. Everything was pleasant until our server name Kelly attended us. She was terrible. She had no clue what she was doing. I'm assuming she was new because we have never seen her before. She brought us the wrong food and when we corrected her, she gave us attitude. As if she was better than us. She should be fired! We will never return to this establishment ever again. We will be reporting her to the manager.

Superb food in glorious setting overlooking Pacific Ocean in Big Sur.

Been going here for 5+ years. Worst experience ever. Felt as if we were interrupting there, the employees, social hour. Mis served on our adult beverage, water was served bare handed over the rim of our glass. Food was ok, but lacking its usual and normal quality. Told that some tabkes wete reserved (?). We are locals and have never had the opportunity or been told we could reserve a table. Ling timw before we go back, and will share this recent experience with all our friends and customers!

I took my Mom here for her birthday. Best decision of my 2019 to date! Most restaurants with any kind of ocean view simply crank up the prices and lower the culinary love. Not here! Ventana grill combines achingly beautiful horizon views with outstanding food and drink. And our server, April, was the perfect mix of professional and adorable. We left a couple of hours ago and our entire group is suffering from April separation anxiety.

This is an upscale seafood Mexican restaurant that utilizes fusion flavors. The food had good spice and taste but execution of the fish could have been better. Mine was undercooked in the center.

The restaurant is in a good location to see beautiful ocean views. The food is good and the staff is great and very professional.
