I am a 19 year old male. The man handing out vouchers to the car show was looking people in the eye and smiling while he handed them a voucher. When I walked near he looked me in the eye then looked the opposite way as he acted as though he did not see me. I did not get a warm welcome or a voucher. I was appalled by his behavior but just keep to myself.

Love pinehurst, I visit yearly. The staff are so helpful, I don't golf and I still love coming here. The beds and bedding are so comfortable, the wrap around porch with rocking chairs are relaxing. The hotel is gorgeous, and very clean.

Beautiful facility in a gorgeous setting. Service was excellent from the moment we pulled up until the day we left. Very attentive staff without being intrusive. Also, food was very delicious as well.

What s good: Very pretty location. Historic hotel & historic golf course. Beautiful village within a short walk of the hotel. The pool is heated to 85 degrees and very nice. Brunch at the Deuce at the Clubhouse next to the famous #2 Course s 18th hole was excellent and a bargain price. The free shuttle.

What s not so good:

No WiFi in the Conference Rooms unless your organization pays extra and arranges for it. No WiFi at the pool. The WiFi in the room would periodically reset without warning.

I will preface my story that follows by stating that we are pretty tolerant and relaxed about children having three of our own. The door between our room, 428, and the next room, 427, was not soundproofed. We could hear any conversation going on in Room 427, and it was occupied by a group that included six young girls who were very loud (including singing at the top of their lungs) while for the first three hours of the evening we tolerated it, once it was well past our bedtime, they kept us awake late into the night. Finally around 11pm we complained to the front desk who promised to send security, however security didn t show up to quiet them down until over 30 minutes had passed.

They departed the next morning, however the cleaning staff did not check the alarm clock in the room, which the girls had either set maliciously or by accident, and while the room was vacant the next night, the alarm clock began to continuously go off the following morning before the crack of dawn, at 5:40am. We complained to the front desk however security didn t show up for over ten minutes before they shut off the alarm. By then we were wide awake and unable to go back to sleep.

The cleaning staff of any good hotel knows to check the alarm clocks in a room after it has been checked out to make sure that a guest doesn t maliciously or accidentally set an alarm to go off after they have departed. The slow response of security when guests are acting obnoxiously is a problem.

The tradition! Walking down the halls you literally see all of the memory's the grounds have provided through the years. You can't help but feel drawn into that kind of nostalgia. There is such a reverance regarding this space, you can almost feel it. The current caretakers have done one heck of a job keeping the grounds pristine and honoring Pinehurst's legacy. Well done!

My brother and I had a golf weekend this past weekend and played both the Lonnie Poole Golf Course at NC State and Pinehurst Number 4. We both shot from the back tees (gold) on Pinehurst and scored 90 (which we could certainly have improved on). Anyways, for $200/person Pinehurst 4 did not live up to our expectations. NC State's course for $75/person was not only longer but was in general, more challenging. I have to say that the greens at number 4 were nice and the course was in pretty good condition. However, overall i would play NC state's course or a number of other courses before I go back and play any Pinehurst course for the high price they charge. The starter at Pinehurst was very friendly and helpful and so were the people in the pro shop. The snack cart on the course passed us 4 times but never stopped to ask if we wanted anything. Ultimately, Pinehurst 4 is a nice course that charges way too much money. I could have played a number of other courses which were just as nice for way less money.

I'm not a golfer.... but chose Pinehurst because it offered a spa on site at the resort. Wow! What a great decision this was! My daughter and I came here for a mother/daughter get a way before she gets married. We loved every minute of our time here. I would HIGHLY recommend it for anyone - even if you've never golfed before, like me.

This is a world class resort in the middle of golf country located in the Sandhills of North Carolina. It's a premium resort with a Southern accent. Don't miss the opportunity to interact with the staff, even the most obscure.
