The general feel is of elitism. I am fine with fancy, but I didn't like the feeling that most of the guests aired of superiority. The housekeeping staff and waitstaff were nice and earnest at least. The front desk was so-so. The breakfast buffet was standard fare for a decent hotel's free breakfast plus smoked salmon, but the scrambled eggs which were labeled as farm fresh were definitely reconstituted powdered eggs, and was over $60 for two! We would never pay that much for what it was. Twice in our single night stay our cards deactivated and we had to trek back to the front desk (not fun with a toddler and preschooler in tow) to have it fixed. Then, while packing up, I FOUND A MAGGOT crawling on the edge of the paper cup cover. We didn't bring food in and were only there one night, so it must have been there before we came in. Otherwise the room felt clean. I told the front desk about it and showed her a picture I took of it when we checked out and all she had to say was "ew, gross!". No assurance it would be handled, no offer for our breakfast to be comped or discounted or anything. Never had that in lower class hotels. Of all the places we have been, this is the only one we would not consider returning to.
