It is a nice facility but the hallways are narrow, everything is so spread out and the conference rooms need a makeover. The staff is fantastic and the accommodations in the hallways and gathering areas are nice. The food is good and the prices aren't too high.

I wouldn't say i disliked the place, but its way too overpriced for what you get. My wife and i got married and was surprised from friends with a Honeymoon suite to escape to after our wedding night. Well the Honeymoon suite had a water leak so we were upgraded to a Penthouse Suite. Ive never had a penthouse room and was thinking it would be much more special, but all it was was one room with a bed, bathroom and then it connected to a second room with a plain couch, couple chairs and a tv. For over $300 a night it dodnt even have the hottub our Honeymoon room was going to have. There are many more hotels that can give you amazing rooms for cheaper

It looks like the resort was really high quality at one point in time many, many.....many years ago. Unfortunately, the current owner(s) appear to be content allowing things to go into disrepair, including extensive and numerous leaks (rain), very old/ineffective/noisy HVAC units in the rooms, and poor ventilation throughout all the public spaces to name a few pain points (not to mention the cosmetic wear and tear every 6" that looks to have first formed over a decade ago). There are a lot of things to do at the resort and, with some revitalization efforts, it could be someplace I could see my family spending an entire weekend.

I will say the front line staff was very gracious, considerate, and well intentioned, but their leadership team seemed disingenuous and ineffective at setting the team up for success. The efforts of the front line staff were the saving grace of the resort and the only reason that I'm not leaving a one star review.

*NOTE: While I did not use the golf course, it looked to be in immaculate condition and the true gem of the resort.

We stayed at this resort for 5 nights for a dance competition, and we had a wonderful time. I have no complaints about this place. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, room was spacious, bathroom large, fridge, microwave, great view... room was great. My kids really loved the two pools and hot tub. We didn't golf or do anything else other than enjoy the pools and hang out. Staff very friendly too. We would definitely stay here again.

Needs a few updates, but it was warm and inviting, the pools were fun, and the beds were comfortable. There were other activities, like an escape room, full massage, and a well stocked bar we didn't have the extra money for.

Solid.

It s a shame that this place has been neglected. The images on their site make it look better than it is. We just stayed for 2 nights and if we had not prepaid we would have left after the first night. This is hardly a resort, back in the day yes but not now. The restaurants were closed on Sunday. The comedy club was closed. The gift shop closed at 1pm on Sunday. No activities just the pools. Machines in fitness center were not all functioning and were not clean. It simply is an out dated hotel with a pool. I understand that the staff is working under strange conditions since 75% of them are being laid off. I applaud them for continuing to serve guest with little future in sight at this hotel. The bartender in the clubhouse bar on Sunday night was great and deserves kudos, but the bar closed at 9. I know that the place is up for auction, hopefully someone purchases it and brings it back to what it once was...a great resort close to the city.

Went an event at 5:00 pm that was to end at 7:00. Half the tables were closed. At 6:00 I asked when show was to end and told 7:00. Explained that half tables were closed. Asked for $$ back. Said money was just removed. I said then you are closed? It was 6:00! Dumb looks! 60 min drive each direction. Argh!

We ordered a room online about two month ago, the room we ordered were supposed to be a room with good views and two queen sized beds. The clerk who checked us in gave us a tower room instead of the golf wing room (the one we ordered), so we talked with the manager and he gave us another room in the golf wing. When we entered the room, there was only one king sized bed, so we had to go back to the front desk again, the manager claims that the type of rooms we ordered were full, even though we ordered the room two months prior. We had to go with the room which only has two full size beds. The experience was not pleasant, but the resort itself had a very nice environment.

I like Pheasant Run because the course is in good shape. in addition there has to be an awful lot of rain before they require cart path only. Since I'm a see your cart path only is very tough.

Clean facilities. Nice and helpful staff. Lots of things to do onsite and plenty of things nearby. Good restaurants onsite and a few good places nearby. The ONLY thing I have to complain about is not really within Pheasant Run's control. If you want to use the pool or hot tub, bring ear plugs and pop an extra blood pressure pill. Every time I've been here there's been kids doing what kids do - run, scream, etc. Because of this, I avoided the entire area.

I have been bringing my kids to the resort since the early 90"s for fun family weekends. I have since then become a grandmother and wanted to continue this family tradition. So recently I booked a golf wing room with walkout patio so we could have ready access for stroller, and sit outside and enjoy the outdoors.
Checked in at approximately noon, front desk said room was not ready yet, which ok I get check in is not till 4pm (even this , check is at 4, checkout is 11am, hmmm), so we asked if someone could please call us when room was ready. We called the resort at 2:30 for an update, they said it was ready, good thing we asked for call. We finally get into the room and I felt like had just walked thrust a time portal to 1980.
The room still had the same decor, furniture and bathroom. The room smelled musty and old. The screen to the walk out patio was off the tracks and the patio door would not lock except off this metal rod that you had to put between the tracks to keep it closed. The cleanliness of the room was gross. The glasses were glass and were not clean, the bathroom had hair on the floor and in the tub, the beds had only sheets and a blanket on them and the TV was from 1981!
Our plan was to drive to Geneva and spend the day there, then get back to the room, put the baby to sleep and relax by our patio. Well when we get back, our patio chairs were gone, we called front desk to let them know and they said they would get back to us. Never heard back from front desk. Next day we checked out we again brought up the chairs and were at that point told "a family asked if they could use more chairs and we told them yes, no one advised you?" Now why would you give permission for someone to take chairs when you know someone has booked that room and specifically requested a walk out patio to be able to sit outside!
I am very disappointed with our stay and will NEVER recommend it to anyone!!!
Change your staff and update!!!!!!

Zanies is a fun if dated venue. Dwayne Kennedy was terrific as was the MC. Drinks are overpriced and a two drink minimum, but you can get free tickets to the actual show so if sort if balances out.

For being such a well known resort in the Chicagoland area, I thought my stay would be a lot nicer. The room we booked did not look anything like the picture in the website - it's so outdated and not well kept. Large holes in the carpet, dirty cups and coffee pot in our room, broken furniture, a missing smoke detector, and a large bug smashed under the glass of a picture on the wall, just for starters. Beyond the room, the layout of the resort is hard to manage, and employees were unable to answer questions when asked. We stayed for a large conference, so we weren't able to choose where to stay, but I would never book a visit here by choice. Very disappointing.

I visited the resort as part of a weekend convention/show. Pheasant Run service seemed quite good. The facility itself is a hodgepodge of good and less good. It's quite a confusing layout, making it difficult to navigate around. While quite dated in certain sections, it manages to still seem fairly nice. It was a good facility for the show.

So, I did not stay at the hotel as I was there for one night only and another hotel was cheaper. But I will say that the section of the resort I was in was better than I remember from years past. It was cleaner and had less of a creep vibe. Still wasn't great, but I heard no complaints from my friends who did stay at the hotel except for one friend who got in an elevator with a really creepy guy. I don't know though, I still wouldn't really recommend anyone stay in St Charles. But I will leave a better review next time I go back if I can.

My experience was overall worth it. The pools were heated and clean as well as interestingly designed. My main complaint was the water. It smelled like sulfur and tasted awful. You could mainly smell it in the bathroom area. It was a little dated, but it was nice. So the 4 stars are for the pool because it was the best part.

The location if pheasant run is great, it's close enough to my house that I feel comfortable, but far enough I feel as if I am on vacation. Through rooms are great, I have a very nice balcony off the back of my room, There's plenty of room in the room, and I feel safe.

My wife and I spent two nights here in September 2017. The resort is very dated. Seems like they just kept adding on and on. Our room was in the tower. Popcorn ceiling and and an old house stench. I told my wife that the 1970's was calling and wanted their hotel back. Very stingy with towels. Asked for a couple of bath towels twice and never got them. I will not stay at this place again. Would make an excellent location for a remake of Caddy Shack. Almost forgot to mention that they made a mistake (in their favor) on the bill that took over fifteen minutes to resolve upon checkout.

I've never booked personally but I deliver quite often for a beer Distribution Company. I've noticed they hold quite a few events throughout the year I'm sure of which can be found online but my favorite is the car show. I've never really seen any Millennials or younger individuals I guess I should say, staying there but seems like a very chilled relaxing environment.

We stayed last weekend as a quick getaway. The gentleman at check in was really nice and made several suggestions for food in the hotel. The resort is nice because you truly don't need to leave unless you want to. One of the reasons we stayed here was because of the pool. It was a bit disappointing as the pool was colder than expected and the warmest spot was a water feature that you had to hug for warmth. The only other thing that was disappointing was that there was only one bartender and about 30 people so to pick up a pizza at the bar took literally 25 minutes and was cold when was finally recieved.

Server was not very happy about doing seperate checks at late lunch in empty dining room on a 12 top with 4 families . Made her displeasure known. Food was mediocre at best from buffet . But excellent French toast . Decor was dirty, dusty , drab and stick in 1983. Wont return to Jambalaya Restaurant

I attended our annual convention here, and have enjoyed it for many years. It's easy to get to from Chicago area, and has pretty solid amenities. They have many different meeting locations including small rooms and large open spaces. They also have ample parking and you can easily walk to various restaurants in the area.
