In August I attempted to schedule a maintenance appointment over the phone and three times in a row when I called was told that they could not schedule my appointment but instead PROMISED that someone who worked from home would call me back to schedule my appointment. I did this off and on for almost 2 weeks and was assured every time that I would receive a call to schedule my appointment but did not. The reason I kept calling is because online the next service available was not for 2 months. All I wanted was an oil change and tuneup.

Fast forward two months to the 2 month out appointment that I had gone ahead and scheduled online...They called me to give me a reminder a day before. Why can t they have this awesome service for scheduling and not just follow up?

I was very disappointed in this place.

I made an appt for a recall on my dads car for his break light switch. The lady looked up his vin# and said yeah I see it. So we made the appt for this passed Saturday. I go in and tell the service guy we are here for the recall on his car for the break light switch. He checks us in and we wait. Today my dad says he has no break lights. I call them and the guy who waited on un answers the phone. He says they fixed a recall on the passenger side for a sensor. I told him that is not why we brought the car in. I told him I told you why we were there and you never mentioned a sensor for a seat. That is not why I brought it in. I told 2 people why I was calling and wanted to bring it in and neither one of them mentioned a sensor in the passenger seat!!!! Wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor, said they weren't there. Now waiting on a phone call.

Salesmen are not willing to try to help a customer over the phone. We were told in order to get the Sonata we wanted our payoff had to be 9000.00 dollars or less any thing over that they could not make a deal. We own a Hyundai and love it wanted another one, but salesmen don't want to help.

I had a wonderful experience purchasing my new palisade! Justin had excellent knowledge of the vehicle and patiently went through all the features of the car. The whole staff was friendly and non- pushy! Check them out when you need a new vehicle and ask for Justin!

Mike and George in the Service Department are terrific. I always made it a point NEVER to use the service department at the dealership. However, I have been going there for 7 years with my Hyundai, and I have never regretted using them. They are fair, honest, and only do what's necessary. Recommend if you have never used the dealer before for services and repairs, try them. You'll definitely like them.

I bought a car here roughly two years ago. The sales staff was low pressure and I got a good deal. I've returned here for most my oil changes, state inspections, and routine maintenance. The mechanics are friendly, informative, and knowledgeable.

I just moved into the area and needed service for a problem with my Hyundai. Used their web site to make a service appointment, and the only available time was on a Saturday. I arrived at the dealership a few minutes early and checked in. I was a bit surprised at hearing of a 'diagnostic fee' equal to 1 hours labor if my problem was not covered by warranty. This is the first time I've ever encountered this at a Hyundai dealer, and I've been driving Hyundai vehicles since 2009 and have always had then services at Hyundai dealerships. Surprise aside, the service advisor was very professional and explained the process quite well to manage my expectations. The showroom, which was visible from the customer lounge, was immense! They must have had at least one of every vehicle they sell in there.

Oh, the problem was covered by warranty, so no charge for the diagnostic - as promised. I have to return to have a part replaced when they get it in stock.

I purchased my 2017 Hyundai Tucson in 2018 from this Hyundai dealership straight off the show room floor with 35 miles on it. Everything was fine until Sunday when the car went into limp mode and I had to tow it to Hyundai Pearson. This is the second day and my car has not even been looked at, no one has called me and the only response I have received is it's being worked in. Meanwhile I have to spend money on Ubers because its my only mode of transportation. This is horrible service, and I believe this is the last time I use the Service Department at Pearson Hyundai. I pray I get my car back soon, but the way its looking I will be using Ubers all week.

Terrible. Just left lot. I gentleman who appeared to be detailing vehicles, was very kind . Asked if I would like assistance. I told him I was waiting on my husband who was inside . I walked around 30min alone, I viewed every sonata, Santa fe, etc. No sales person came to say anything. My husband was viewing cars on another side. Not even one person said anything. I did see two young ladys who appeared on smoke break at the far left back of dealership sitting in chairs talking , watching me , I was also watching them. No smile, no " Did you need help" Sad

*READ*!! Everyone has their own opinions based off...

*READ*!! Everyone has their own opinions based off of their own experiences with this company, but this is worth the read. My mother has been taking her car to Pearson Hyundai to have it serviced for a few years now. She recently took it by to have it looked at because it was making a strange noise whenever she would start it, and they claimed they did not hear the noise. I m not sure how no one could hear it when it is loud as day; anyone could hear it and know there s an issue without even working in a service department. She took it back on another occasion to have an oil change, and she asked them once again if they could hear the noise. Finally, Ashton said that he could hear the noise, and he was going to contact the company that she has her extended warranty through to see if it was covered, and he would give her a call afterwards to let her know what they said. Two weeks went by, and she has yet to hear anything from anyone at Pearson. So, she made multiple calls to Pearson (getting the run around each time) to see if they had heard anything from anyone at the extended warranty company, and they said they hadn t heard anything. Another week went by, and she went BACK down to Pearson to speak to someone in person. She was able to speak with Michael Seamster, who was the service manager, but he is now the parts manager. Michael stated that he wasn t sure what was wrong with it, but she could stick around and speak to Melissa once she arrived, so she waited until Melissa got there. With her name being Melissa, she was expecting someone more ladylike, and to show a little more concern. Instead, she got Miss Trunchbull, very manly, very aggressive, and extremely rude. Anyway, they spoke for a moment about the matter, but her demeanor and disposition was so ugly and rude that she asked to speak to someone else. She then was able to speak with the General Manager by the name of James. James stated that customers should never be treated that way, and he would have a talk with her. He also said that someone from there would be getting in touch with her about bringing her car in for them to look at. She has yet to receive a call from anyone, and it s been another two weeks. So, once again, she s been making calls to Pearson, getting the run around once again, and NO ONE from this company has been of any assistance to her. With that being said, I do not recommend Pearson, she does not recommend Pearson, and I really can t understand why anyone would EVER recommend Pearson. They re very, rude, unprofessional, and inconsiderate, and the customer s satisfaction is the very LEAST of their worries, but they do want your money, you can count on that!! We have a few friends that work in this industry, and they re doing us a favor by reaching out to Mr. Pearson himself. Sorry this review is so long, but future buyers need insight before buying, and we will be spreading the word!!!

Edit. Picked up Sonata Sport. Sales rep, Chris was there and made sure car was washed, tire inflated and warmed up. He showed me how to use remote start and walked me through pairing my phone. He was as personable, patient, with a warm smile as my first visit. Cold weather didn't seem to phase him. Felt reassured when he said I could call him if I had any service issue. Car has low miles and I got the extended warranty since more electrical features than I had before. I did pre-approval with my bank and recommend it so you know your budget when shopping. My offer for reduced price was declined. While I could have saved a bit by driving further north wasn't worth drive with Pearson's $589 processing fee and it was a pretty car with good paint. Only couple blemish marks. I did get a service request honored so that showed me the dealer was reasonable. Didn't read reviews before hand but internet sales rep helped get me in the door so hang onto Lori as she fielded my email inquiries. It was a bit busy on my purchase day, which surprised me because it was COLD so took a little longer than I thought as I had did research before and already knew what cars I was looking for but that was a good sign others liked the dealer. I had to leave and they trusted me to come back especially when I said I was pre-approved. Glad Chris was there to finish up. I know there is turnover in industry but try to hang on to him.

Service department Is not up to par. Misdiagnosed Tire wear problem and blamed it on defective tires. My tire shop aid it was mechanical failure that caused the tire to wear out early. After checking a few different places got the same story. Went back to Pearson service dept., told them what every one else said. They said they would check it again but the soonest appointment was eight days in the future. Service department is to small and not well informed.

Mike Spease and Miles McQuaig were very accommodating. These two gentleman are very fun to be around which made time fly in the dealership. I wouldn't consider myself a tech savvy person so, Miles went above and beyond to assist me in setting up my Hyundai BlueLink account and now I can start my vehicle directly from my phone which I find impressive. He even called me the following morning to ensure everything was working perfectly. Everyone I encountered was very kind and I have to say they have a customer for life!

Left our Hyundai Elantra there for 2 weeks. We were told the work had been done. My wife picked it up drove off the lot; 1/4 mile down the road on route 60 it started smoking. Fire/ EMS arrived, Police arrived, My father n law (who was close by) arrived had to push it off the road. We had to pay for towing to take it back. Hope at the front end reception said we thought that might happen. (What does that even mean?) We were told they would do more tests and provide the paperwork with the test results. 3 weeks later, we are told it s done, come pick it up. The Manager said over the phone to my wife that the repair paperwork would be there when we went to pick it up. We get there and the paperwork (maintenance report) said it was fine, but didn t detail what was actually performed. They wanted my wife to take the piece of paperwork showing that nothing was wrong with the vehicle. The paperwork also didn t have any of the tests that were performed. This has been 5 weeks... When my wife asked the repair front end desk about this missing information; (maintenance logs / tests performed) the front end desk lady (Hope) became hostile and angry; she said to my wife WE ARE DONE HERE!! My wife came out to the car crying. We don t know what to do.

The service and maintenance department is awful. Every time I have taken one of our 2 Hyundais there we have waited 24-48 hrs for someone to even look at our cars, and we have always had to call to get updates. When you do call you're constantly being put on hold and transferred. Went in for an oil change, a week later the car breaks down on the side of the road, and has to be towed to the dealership. Was told that the car gave no indication it would break down when they changed the oil (which I don't believe). I was in a rental for 2 weeks, when we asked about them paying for a rental, and was told someone would get back to us, that never happened. When all was said and done, we're out $5000, and the whole time we were treated by the staff like we were inconveniencing them, the cashier even had the nerve to make a joke about how much our repairs were.

We worked with John Judy recently on purchasing a used vehicle that we had seen online. He worked with us to find a price point we felt comfortable with over the phone since our time in the store was limited. He also had all the documents ready to go when we arrived to purchase the vehicle and we were in and out in 1.5 hours total! With a brand new baby! Everyone was efficient and we have never had such a quick, non-pushy car purchase. We would strongly recommend this dealership. Thanks guys!

My fiance had an oil change done back in April here. I went to do an oil change on it this month and found they had over tightened the drain plug to the point that threads were pulled. I went to take off the oil filter canister cap and it too was so tight it broke the special socket that I have used a dozen times to do the oil changes.
We took it back in to Pearson Hyundai after having to put new oil back in with an old oil filter. And they tried to charge us for fixing their mess up.
Zach said they can't help that their technicians have to use special tools that can sometimes make it tighter.
BS it takes the same tools I use and I have been working on cars for 10 years or more.
I suspect they used an air tool which only a careless idiot would do on a drain plug and pot aluminum canister filter cap.
We will not be using Pearson Hyundai again. Sad to think I've worked for 3 of the Pearson dealership in the past and they are just going down hill since Max Pearson passed.

I just wanted to say how wonderful Pearson Hyundai treated me. I found they had a special rate going on and went yesterday to look at a SUV. I've been looking for a few months and had an idea what I wanted. I was greeted by salesman Rick W. and he was awesome. I told him what I was looking for and he found one to test drive. Even though I went just to look I ended up purchasing a beautiful blue SUV. They worked within my budget and I got the great rate. Everything was straightforward and easy....go see Rick W.!

I thought I would give them another chance. I didn't have much of a choice when my Veracruz broke down on the way to the airport. They were the shortest distance to have vehicle towed. I scheduled an appt prior with service to have a recall performed related to engine main seal leaking oil and getting on my alternator. Not the first time it's happened. Actually it was the third time. This time I was hopeful because Corp had a service bulletin/recall about the issue. They did the recall and gave me a vehicle back with a Check Engine light. It never had it before. I didn't expect much more from them because this has been my typical experience. I just was trying to be optimistic. Of course I'm not happy because they want me to pay for something that is clearly a safety issue. I think Hyundai is a pretty good vehicle. This dealership however does not perform up to standards of the manufacture let alone basic customer satisfaction.

I simply do not understand these negative reviews! Our experience with Marty and everyone else involved was better than we could have possibly hoped for - no high pressure to upgrade, no bait and switch and very knowledgeable about the product. But, you have to know how to buy a car. Do your homework. Call several dealerships and get an exact "out the door" price on a specific make, model, and option package. Then call Pearson and get their price. Be truthful with Marty about the other dealerships and he will do what it takes to earn your business. It's that simple. We absolutely got the best deal possible and love the car.

If I could give no stars I would. This place sold me a lemon that they messed up because they admitted that someone in their service dept washed the engine incorrectly. I kept having trouble with the car and had to take it back to them multiple times. Eventually I was forced to get a different vehicle but they never compensated for the lemon they had sold me so I came out of pocket at least $4000 or $5000 extra because of their mistake. Not only that but when I went back to demand another car because I had enough I had to put another down payment on the car for $700 after I had put $1000 down on the first car. I now owe the bank more than $14,000 when it should really only be &10,000. When I complained, they admitted they were wrong and only gave me one free oil change for the inconvenience. I really should have taken them to court or called channel 12 or something but I just didn't want to deal with the headache..any more than they had already caused. I believe they took advantage of me because I was young and inexperienced. DO NOT GET A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!

Think twice before you think you'll breeze in and ...

Think twice before you think you'll breeze in and out of this place for a $20 state inspection and an oil change on your 2 year old car!
I brought my 2017 Genesis into Pearson Hyundai for a 30,000 mile service and a state inspection.
They failed my car (as you can see from the GM's note below) because one tire was at 2/32. In taking my car to NTB down the road, their inspector measured and validated that the car definitely passed. Having already spent $900 on new tires from Tire Rack, I was furious at the waste of tires and my time.
When I called the Virginia State Police to report Pearson Hyundai's inspector, they explained to me that the law is that the tread has to be LESS than 2/32". Mine was AT 2/32". Bottom line, regardless of what you read from the GM below, they failed a passing car, they wasted still functional tires, caused me to spend $900 during the Christmas shopping season and they lost a Genesis customer forever (warranty and more importantly post warranty).
I wanted to be a raving fan of this dealership as I intend to have my G80 past the warranty period. But read the other reviews about their state inspection practices and you'll see my experience is not unique. Don't fall for the trap. In seeing my frustration at having my passing tires fail inspection, both Mr. Seamster and Mr. Parker implied that they'd "take care of me" implying they'd make me a deal on some overpriced tires. As you walk into the service area you can't help but notice the big sign on the door, "We sell tires!" If that's not a conflict of interest, I'm not sure what is.
Based on my experience, this dealership doesn't want to build relationships with their Genesis owners - they're out to "build the check". My advice: talk to your friends and see whose got a trusted local mechanic. Go there for your state inspection. Don't go to a dealership or national chain - these organizations have sales numbers to hit and when you think you're going in for your free or $29 oil change, you'll usually walk out with a laundry list of things you didn't know your car needed that will cost you between $500-$1000. I should have followed my own advice. Oh well - the police can deal with these guys now.
Mr. Mathews, thanks for taking the time to reply.

My car was involved in an accident not too far from Pearson's Hyundai late one Wednesday evening. Luckily, my car was drivable, and I drove it to Pearson's; and left it there since the service department was closed. I received a call from Pearson's early Friday morning letting me know what repairs were needed and how much the repairs would cost. After talking to my insurance company, I decided to take my car to a body shop.

When I picked my car up from Pearson's, to my surprise and delight, it drove much better and sounded better than it did when I took it there. You see, when I drove my car to Pearson, the muffler was damaged, and it was hanging and banging against the bottom of my car, plus my car's motor sounded very loud. It was so embarrassing driving my car the short distance to Pearson's. The mechanic who examined my car to see what repairs were needed, (temporarily) reattached my muffler. When I picked my car up to take it to the body shop, my muffler had been put back in place and stabilized; it no longer banged against the bottom of my car. Even though my damaged muffler still made my car sound loud, It no longer banged . . . Therefore, it wasn't too embarrassing driving my car to the body shop. Because my car was drivable, (to my disappointment) the body shop asked me to keep it during the weekend and turn it in to them Monday!! When I drove my car on the weekend, I wasn't too embarrassed. I no longer had a hanging muffler banging against the bottom of my car at every stop light. Thanks to Pearson!

For Pearson's repair estimate and for (temporarily) reattaching my muffler, I was charged only $71.00. Since Pearson's is a major car dealership, I was glad to see that this service did not cost over $100.00. I was also very pleased with the friendly service that I got, on both days, from everyone who I encountered at Pearson's Hyundai.

Service is a misnomer when it comes to this dealer...

Service is a misnomer when it comes to this dealership. The service advisors are nice people but their ability to assist/ advise and facilitate service is super poor, less than par and damn right gross. Maybe they re too busy ( not enough competition). I took my HYUNDAI Sonata 25 miles to another dealership just to get routine service. You would think that if you take your car to the dealership, they would be capable of any and all repairs for that car not this company. Totally absurd! Hopefully the free market will weed them out eventually.
