excellent and caring people, they were very helpful and friendly. They do background check people to make sure that the dogs are placed with good families. We are very happy we found them and they helped us find Winston who has become a welcome and happy member of our family.

Adopted two dogs...they are loving, lively, intelligent.(sometimes to 9 on the Brat Dog scale), are excellent watchdows, and friendly & gregariou with other dogs as well as with people in general
Anna has the biggest heart. She takes in the worst cases, gives them everything she has, money, time, love and protects them from potentially another bad situation. Some might be put off by the thorough application process but this is to protect the pups she s saved from backyard puppy mils and high kill shelters. If you want a no questions asked process, maybe a county shelter is a better fit.
Anna rescued our Maggie from a backyard puppy mill in Miami that kept her in a cage for 5 years. The picture below is the day Maggie was removed. Anna have her a chance to be the princess she is today. We are very grateful to everyone at Paws2Care
My husband and I were so interested in adopting one of the pups at this shelter, however, our experience was awful. We visited and played with one specific dog and really did fall in love. We filled out the paperwork to apply to adopt and it was literally like PULLING TEETH to get information out of this woman. We were so excited and knew we could provide the perfect home. She was very flakey and could never give us a straight answer as to what was going on. We even came in everyday to play with the pup we were interested in every time we would call Anna no answer and we never got an answer back. The women in the facility never had an update only said Anna will contact us. How do you not support breeding but then when genuine people try to adopt and provide a home for a pup you act biased and shadey waste of a facility! Now I see why people buy because people like Anna make it hard. Don t waste your time here
(This dog was not adopted here FYI, read story) Im giving them 2 stars because of the willing to help abandoned dogs to find a good forever home but cannot give them a better rating because the whole poinr is that thr dog gets adopted with good persons who take care of them and this is why. The week before Thanksgiving day I contacted Ana to adopt Atila, a mix breed dog girl of 8 months of age.I was ready to have my first dog in USA after loosing my own in Vuba from a genetic heart disease. She told me to go to the shelter in Hollywood and I live in Miami. I fell in love with Atila so the trip was worth it and it was the night before Thanksgiving to be exact. I completed the long application and since it was a holiday I waited. I wrote Ana, the owner, on Monday again and she just told me they were behind. I did no want to keep looking as its no about getting any dog just to get one but a dog I feel a connection with. And I truly fekt it with Atila. Followed up with Ana again after that and never got a reply not even a simple No. I know they have a kot of work but the whole point of having a non profit org like they are to adopt dogs is to actually process akl the applications including the ones u domt approve and if you are willing to demand from people please be the same way and be professional. So I was doing some research about her profile and org and I realized all of the adoptions were approved for couples. I love on my iwn and I was willing to take care of a little angel. So this is what I did. Since I've been living in USA after Ana did not reply to me I decided to research and found out Miami Dade County shelter put dos for adoption. Its a very simple process and I was able to give a home to a very abused little dog who is the happiest of all and very lucky. I took him to the vet, he still recovering from being neutered and judge by yourself his change. PLEASE GO TO MIAMI DADE SHELTER TO ADOPT as your first option they have hundreds of dogs, they have very inexpensive vaccinations packages and spaying/neutering servs and those dogs may be put down if no one adopt them for a while as they cannot have them. I didnt know about this when I wrote Ana, I made a choice, she wont kill their dogs as she seems to love ginving them a shot so I went and adopt one of 2 years of age from Miami Dade County shelterin Doral and it was the best decision I've ever made. Ana. You need to improve your response rate LIKE A LOT. I was even willing to volunteer at her shelter but she did not even repply to me and when going to the actual shelter no one could give me information as to what todo EXCEPT to contact ANA and you know how that went. Hope she gets this as constructive criticisms and use every piece of advice to improve as smart people do. Keep doing the hard work but dont think that answering to the actual humans will be a waste of time cause maybe thath dog is not right for that person but I would have appreciated some orientation on this matter as to other dogs to adopt. Thats the purpose of your org, isn't it?
Wow. Ana was the most unresponsive unprofessional communicators. Most people would think you go into this line of work because of your love for animals. Completely couldn't be further from the truth for Ana. For 12 weeks I've been teaching out about a dog that is still adoptable on their website. They have been closed due to COVID (completely understandable) but the lack of communication is mind blowing? I'm disappointed in the service your organization provides. Your lack of and limited unfriendly communication during this entire process is appalling. I hope they treat their dogs better than they treat people. It's unfortunate for people like us that can provide a loving home, have financial means that take the time to fill out an application to adopt not shop and this is how we are treated. To be ignored and occasionally given a short cold response with nothing more then we re closed .
This is outrageous animals waiting for adoption and weeks on end going by with no application checks no movement to move forward. Sad for these pups.
I'd think twice before working with Ana. But then again she probably won't communicate with you so it won't matter anyway. You ll be forced to look elsewhere.
I have been trying to contact this owner for some time now and I'm so happy I stopped to look at reviews. My dog just gave birth and I wanted to find a nice place to give her 5 puppies to so that they can find forever homes. But from what I'm reading I have no interest in working with this person. Thanks everyone!
There are many rescues in South FL, but only one Paws 2 Care Coalition. I have admired this rescue for YEARS AND YEARS...there are truly no-nonsense, and are ALL about the dogs. They take on some pretty rough medical cases without hesitation, and will do WHATEVER it takes for the dogs in their care. I am so proud to say that I finally also adopted from them recently!! We lost our beautiful maltese in February, and had an open spot in our home for an additional family member. Well....my newly adopted dog was so incredibly well-adjusted, calm, and PERFECT!!!! She and my poodle became fast friends and it was a match made in heaven. Thank you Paws 2 Care. I always have and always will recommend you to my friends looking to adopt!
Had an approved application on file, went to the shelter (which had crates on top of crates, dogs just barking/screaming to get out), found a puppy my girls were very interested in. I let the volunteer know that we were interested in "Kramer", the volunteer told me to contact Anna. I did. We waited. I decided to drive back over to the shelter that night, I texted Ana that we were coming back, finally a phone call back, she tells me "Kramer" had been re-homed the previous weekend.
I guess the volunteer staff was un-aware of this. She also informed me that my application for was for another dog (that snapped at my 6 year old), so basically I was at square one, and that a home visit was required. Now, considering how these poor animals are living, in small kennels all day and all night, would it not be better to let a nice family adopt them that had already been approved??? It makes me wonder if they really want the dogs adopted or not.
FYI, "Kramer" is still on the web-page as are other dogs that I specifically wrote to Ana about, as my girls were very interested. I ended up buying a puppy from someone on craigslist. I can say I tried very hard to work with this organization, however I don't think they are interested in re-homing these animals, very difficult to communicate with and super difficult.
I appreciate what that they save these dogs from the streets, but to not allow a nice family to give one of their dogs/pups a nice, warm, loving home seems super un-reasonable to me.
Thanks, but no thanks. This type of hassle is what keeps the pet stores in business.
Paws2Care is a wonderful place! Ana and her team are very special caring people. I adopted my baby Neto from them and my other baby Wally was adopted indirectly. I love that they are meticulous in screening potential adopters and truly love and care for these fur babies. There are too many irresponsible pet owners out there. So I say to them, GREAT JOB!
They really care about helping dogs in need. I volunteered there a few times and was pleased to see the care they give to dogs they take in. With more volunteers they would be able to help more dogs. I would definitely adopt from them when the time comes.
My experience when adopting our family dog, "Larry", was nothing but pleasant. The owner, Ana, was very easy to work with and even allowed us to bring Larry into our home, before adopting him, to see if he meshed well with our other dog. Even when Larry got sick during our fostering process, she had a volunteer come to our house, pick him up, and take him to the vet, so neither of my parents would have to take time off from work.
5 years later, when my older brother was looking to adopt a dog of his own, Ana, again, was nothing but pleasant. She let him come in twice to keep looking at dogs that he was interested in.
One thing that I think people need to understand is that this rescue is run completely on donations; therefore, the shelter isn't this beautiful facility that gets funding from the state like other city and state humane societies do. The facility isn't huge, but they have a big enough yard in the back where the dogs are let out SEVERAL times a day to play and run around in. They are not left in cages all day like other people seem to assume. The dogs at this shelter receive tons of LOVE and TLC from all the volunteers.
Also, this shelter is run by ONE person, Ana Bueno. She gets plenty of help from other volunteers, but she is the one in charge of adoptions and approving applications. I understand that it can be frustrating or annoying when you haven't heard back from her, but she runs this shelter PLUS she has another job on top of that.
My experience overall with Ana and this shelter has been nothing but pleasant and I'm forever grateful to her and all the volunteers.
I highly recommend Paws2Care! They are always taking in dogs that need help and care for them around the clock. Most dogs require extensive medical attention which incur vet bills in the thousands at times. They charge minimal adoption fees to help cover the cost but if they didn t they would not be able to do what they do. Donations and their occasional events only provide so much..It makes me crazy when I hear people who complain about the fees. I don t believe these people could possibly understand what is financially and physically required on a daily basis to take in and provide the care needed for these dogs. So when you are looking for a dog please ADOPT DONT SHOP and when you do adopt, please consider Paws2care. I know that the hearts of those in charge of this facility are selfless animal lovers who are genuine and here to help care for the discarded whom end up on their doorstep.
They care so much for the animals and will check if you are suitable to take care of these little ones. Ana and her team are truly amazing and such a blessing.
I went to their facility a couple of years ago and was ready to rescue a male dog it s been a while, I can t remember his name. Ana denied my application only because I had purchased a Yorkie that was a gift to my grandchildren, the Yorkie was up to date on shots, but my daughter wanted him and a female Yorkie to have puppies, so he wasn t neutered, just for that Ana denied my application. Totally Wrong, I could ve given that doggie a forever home. Never again will I visit that facility again. Totally unfair for these rescue dogs that so desperately need a good loving
Just to clarify your answer Miss Ana, I m not a Breeder, I m someone that would ve given that male doggie a forever home. Have you ever heard of lawsuits for accusing someone without cause??? Be careful what you write on your answers!
Not recommended! No response from owner Anna Bueno. She keeps the puppies too long and I believe that she is heartless! All the negative comments on this site, I agree with. I don't understand what her agenda is. I have tried for almost 1 year to adopt the two male Chihuahuas that my female gave birth to. I did not give them to Anna Bueno, I gave them as a pair to someone I trusted and this person did not follow through with my instructions to return them to me if there was any problem. By accident I found out that my boys were at Paws 2 care Coalition. I went there the next day. Anna was not there and I saw my boys and cried my eyes out until the volunteer finally got Anna to come over and talk to me. She refused to let me adopt the puppies and did not give me a reason why. I have since hired an attorney to help me with adopting my Chihuahuas Sons. They belong back at home with me and their birth mother. I would not recommend going to her facility for any kind of adoption. The animals that are there. My puppies have been in a cage that I call jail for more than one year. I don't call that loving and rescuing. I call that inhumane treatment.
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to adopt a beautiful dog named Marcela from Paws 2 Care. My family has been involved with Paws 2 Care for about 5 years now. Ana does a wonderful job but I can understand some of the concerns written below.
This shelter is run by one person, who also runs a small business, to split her time has to be impossible, she has several volunteers but Ana mainly handles the adoption process. It is not a quick process because she needs to make sure the dogs are heading to the right type of home because of what has happened to them in the past. I assure you that Paws 2 Care has not forgotten about you. All that I ask is that you have some patience because if you really want the dog you applied for then you should be willing to wait a few more days. All in all I absolutely adore Marcela and should I get a second dog, I will absolutely be back.
Thank you for everything you do Ana, it does not go unnoticed and you have given so many dogs their furever home and there are many more to come.
Long story short, that poor pup was stuck in there for another two years before finally being adopted by someone else.
Ana is wonderful. She runs one of the most well respected rescue efforts in Miami. She is very caring and works endlessly to make sure her rescues will have the best possible life! I highly recommend Paws 2 Care Coalition!
We adopted two puppies, sisters Littermates, 3 1/2 years ago . They are the light of our lives. Everything about the adoption from the first day was perfect Anna and her staff were careful and professional in screening my husband and myself. It was clear that their love and devotion to the puppies was paramount, they were making every assurance that these dogs would have a long healthy life in a good home Other friends who have dealt with this organization are equally satisfied and we cannot say enough about how I would recommend Annie and Paws 2 Care.
One of the best rescues in town, Ana is a very caring loving rescue who really really cares about the well being of the animals she rescues. I commend her for making sure no l none of the animals she rescues goes into a bad or breeding situation! Only wish all of the rescues were as good as yours. <3
VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. FILLED OUT APPLICATION 10 DAYS AGO.NO RESPONSE TO CALLS OR TEXT OR EMAILS.FINALLY GO A HOLD OF THEM TODAY.THEY SAID THEY LOOKED AT MY APP. YESTERDAY SAID MY APP. WAS INCOMPLETE.WRONG MY APP WAS COMPLETE. THEY DID NOT LIKE MY ADDRESS BECAUSE IT WAS MY BUSINESS WHICH IS LOCAL.MY HOME ADDRESS IN NOT LOCAL.IF THEY WOULD HAVE CALLED OR ANSWERED MY CALLS IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED. THE DOG I WAS TRYING TO ADOPT HAS BEEN THERE FOR 15 MONTHS.NOW I NO WHY.VERY POOR WITH THE PUBLIC.I FEEL BAD FOR THE DOG .HE LOST A VERY GOOD HOME, BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT COMMUNICATE.
I had a bad experience, my husband and I wanted to adopt a puppy, we were aware of everything we filled out the application and we wrote to the contact number to know how the process was going and they never wrote us anything or answered if we applied or not to the adoption
Hands down one of the best rescues!!! Ana and her team have hearts of gold. They take in even the worst cases, and ensure they get the treatment needed! The application process can take a few weeks, as it should! They make sure the dogs go to the absolute best humans possible. The animals come from really bad conditions at times, and I love that she makes sure it doesn t happen to them again.
After reading many negative reviews I felt compelled to leave one myself. I just adopted a dog here and could not be happier! I drove 2 1/2 hours from home to adopt after communicating with Anna for a few weeks. Yes, it did take a couple of weeks for my application to get approved and make arrangements to make the trip from Sebastian, FL however, I do know that all my referenced were called and that the I was thoroughly checked out. Obviously, they want to make sure their dogs are not placed in terrible homes as most of them were just rescued from bad situations. To anyone complaining about the process... EVERYONE HERE IS A VOLUNTEER!!! They have full-time jobs, lives, kids, and still find time to donate massive amounts of time and money to help these dogs. Unless you are willing to do the same, you have absolutely no right to complain. It was evident that the dogs here were happy, well-cared for, the place was clean and the volunteers delightful. Thank you again so much Paws2Care, I will send you photos now and again of ChiChi as I know how much you love her and am grateful to add her to our family.
Loving and caring people! they are really committed to the pets and families that are searching to adopt! Don't listen to bad reviews, pretty sure they saw things that didn't adjust for the animal! Check the doggie I got with them:
I ll start by saying I believe pet adoption is the way to go. I just don t think this facility is the place to do it for the following reasons: Poor communication and response Arbitrary re-submission of paperwork Unnecessary delays and dragging of process Seemingly biased We d planned to buy a dog for my boyfriend s mom who d just retired, but a neighbor mentioned adopting and we wanted to do the right thing! We found this shelter and immediately fell in love with one of the dogs there and we were told there were no pending applications for the dog. My boyfriend went to visit the dog since his mom was out of the country traveling and immediately knew she would be perfect for mom. He submitted an application that same night (May 1st). After receiving no response for a week, he called and text the cell associated with this shelter several times. He ended up randomly visiting the shelter to follow up on the application status after probably 20 calls/texts and was told the application wasn t received. So he submitted another one on May 15th. Another week and pop-up later he was told that because no current veterinarian was listed even though he said on his application that his former cat died many years before so he didn t have a vet. He was told it had to be filled out, so ANOTHER application had to be submitted with the vet he would take the dog to (May 21st). Did that ..and guess what no response. At this point we realized that they just didn t want to give the dog to us - for whatever reason (I ll not post what I believe to be the reason here). I do believe that they were dragging their feet with our application until someone else came along. It should never take over a month to get a decision when all we ever hear about is how dire the situation is and how badly pet parents are needed!
Finally, today they sent an e-mail saying that his application was denied because they couldn t validate his vet reference . He obviously didn t have a vet to give a reference. They never called or follow-up even though the effort was there on our part in the multiple visits, various e-mails, and numerous phone calls that were made to ensure our interest in the dog was shown. Anyway, we will be moving on to the county animal shelter as we are turned off by private facilities.
Don t subject yourself to this, or allow them to toy with your emotions .find another shelter to adopt from that has more respect for the people who have made the decision to adopt!
Good luck finding your fur-baby out there everyone!!
It was a very long drive for us to go to a hard-to-find spot, but we found them. I know how difficult it is to get a non-profit off the ground, and these folks have incredibly tight quarters - however, I do think you all need to get some of that "stuff" out of there. I think the one lady mentioned you were having some kind of sale to support your organization. There is no real room to walk, and we were there for 15 or 20 minutes before we were even barely addressed and then the other lady came in and got out the dog we had seen on the internet. We would have saved a lot of time and gas if we had known how shy this poor dog was ahead of time. As sweet as she is, I want her to go to a home that will be comfortable with her, rather than trying to make her fit into ours and our very mobile lifestyle. So, though we couldn't take her with us, I hope she finds a very good home - and I hope that this organization gets more support so they can get out of this location into one that will serve their needs and the dogs needs even better. They are working very hard to help. I wish we could do more.
Literally the worst adoption. They have a lot of wonderful dogs but Ana (the owner) is the worst communicator. She will not answer calls, texts and will respond to your emails a week later. I wanted a dog from there for a long time and out of nowhere she writes me that she gave the dog to someone else. It s beyond unprofessional and rude. I don t recommend anyone going there. It s sad that there s so many wonderful dogs at such an awful location.
I LOVE THIS PLACE ! Ana simply wants the BEST for the fur babies in her care... nothing that is too easy is ever good. Adoption should be the ONLY option and yet you hear people out there proudly stating that they bought their last dog from a backyard breeder or even worse, from a store (that most definitely buys from puppy mills!!). If you come in and want to adopt a doggie, you must fill out an application and obviously, if you come in with 3 or 4 toddlers, don't expect to be able to adopt a 4 lb puppy! Common sense people, small children are beautiful but put a tiny dog into that mix and it's a recipe for disaster. I own 6 rescue dogs, they range from a med. Pitbull to a 5 lb yorkie. Dogs require time and care, adopting one ALSO requires a little patience to see if it's a good fit and a family that totally believes that Rescuing Is the only solution to the pet overpopulation!
So thankful for the work Ana does. Our family adopted Ana and Olaf who Were terribly abused. Ana Bueno and her volunteers saved them and now they are with us and give our family so much joy.
My wife and I applied with Paws 2 Care as required to adopt a dog that we saw on their website. It has been 3 weeks , and still our application has not been processed, or our references contacted. We have visited the shelter several times since our initial contact, (a 40 mile round trip) to to spend time with the dog, and have been assured by the staff, that our application is in process. 3 to 5 business days was promised by the shelter on the web site. Numerous texts and phone messages left with Ana Bueno, who appears as the only person approving these applications, have gone unanswered. Not a good sign.
"Benji" is still up on their site for adoption, which is sad, as this dog and others there, are living in small cages, when there are people waiting to take them into loving and caring homes, and give them a quality life.
It is our opinion that Paws 2 Care could be a donation scam, and if you are seriously interested in adopting a pet, we encourage you to look elsewhere.
We gave a 1 star rating only in order to get this posted. Should be 0.
The work that Paws2care coalition does is absolutely MIRACULOUS. Highly recommend. Please donate to continue saving these noble canine souls, It's well worth it.
I'm very impressed for their dedication and love for the animals. All my donations go to them so they can care for the not so fortunate dogs. I will encourage everybody to go and adopt a dog from them.
This was a very disappointing experience for me. I really wanted to get a dog from a shelter instead of buying it. I sent Ana Bueno (person in charge) a message asking for a particular pup (Jamie), I got a response at first letting me know that I needed to visit the shelter and meet the puppy in question before being considered. I drove all the way from Coral Gables to Hollywood, met Jamie, and fell in love with him. I texted Ana about it and did not receive a response. Decided not to be a nuisance since I assumed she was probably busy and waited until the following Monday to call. I left a message and no response yet.
Considering all the information required on the adoption form, including references and driver's license number, you'd think she or anyone at the shelter would take the time to let people know whether they have been approved or not (a simple 'no' would've done the job for me). I loved the little 'guy' so much I halted all other adoption efforts till I heard from her (Ana). If you are going to be demanding, you must be professional in return. Needles to say, there is also a $200 re-homing fee.
Paws 2 care is a wonderful place where many puppies after being abandoned, mistreated, receive a new opportunity and are welcomed and cared for with great love until they find a new home, a family that gives them the care and affection that all pets need Ay. I had the nice experience and great opportunity to adopt my two puppies Vivi and Bradley and they are the most beautiful thing in the world for me and my family mi
Paws to Care was amazing at first, we found a dog and contacted them. We met the dog, filled out an application and never heard back! We texted Ana multiple times and no response was given.
