This was a very disappointing experience for me. I really wanted to get a dog from a shelter instead of buying it. I sent Ana Bueno (person in charge) a message asking for a particular pup (Jamie), I got a response at first letting me know that I needed to visit the shelter and meet the puppy in question before being considered. I drove all the way from Coral Gables to Hollywood, met Jamie, and fell in love with him. I texted Ana about it and did not receive a response. Decided not to be a nuisance since I assumed she was probably busy and waited until the following Monday to call. I left a message and no response yet.
Considering all the information required on the adoption form, including references and driver's license number, you'd think she or anyone at the shelter would take the time to let people know whether they have been approved or not (a simple 'no' would've done the job for me). I loved the little 'guy' so much I halted all other adoption efforts till I heard from her (Ana).
If you are going to be demanding, you must be professional in return. Needles to say, there is also a $200 re-homing fee.
