I'm sorry that I'm not good with names so I don't honestly remember the name of the doctor that helped me but she was really amazing and honestly the whole staff I came in contact with was great they all seem really caring and wanting to be really accommodating to this emergency situation I had with my cat. I was not expecting to have to bring my cat in during a snowstorm and I did not have a lot of money saved up and I brought him in because I thought he was constipated but it turned out that's not the issue he couldn't urinate he could have died and I almost had to put him to sleep because I didn't have funds available for him and I felt backed into wall because I didn't have a way to help him but they came up with an alternate solution for me so it's a little more affordable and they recommended what to do if it does come back which can happen he told me to be prepared for the other alternative if it does happen and my cat is only 5 years old so the thought of losing him already it's really hard for me. because of them I was able to bring my cat home the same day for right now he's okay I'm really thankful for that. Originally called in at 2:30 in the morning because my cat was in a lot of pain and I needed some recommendations and after speaking to somebody they said that I need to bring him in and I said I probably couldn't until after the driving ban we hung up and she ended up calling me back because she was really concerned about him and wanted to help me find somebody closer unfortunately there wasn't anybody closer but the fact that she cared enough to call me back and try to help me get my cat to help that he needed really meant something to me and showed that she cared

I will never be able to thank you all enough!! For the second time in three weeks, I had to bring Maddie in for an emergency. She is not an easy patient. Yet, everyone from the moment I called to say we were coming until I left were excellent. Dr. Zawadzki is beyond amazing. She is so thorough and attentive. She does exactly what is needed and is so empathetic. You all did everything needed to help Maddie and make the situation easier to deal with. Thank you for caring and not just being there to make money! In my 15 years of coming there, I never had a bad experience! I would recommend you to absolutely any pet owner!! Each and every one of you make the hardest days of being a pet owner easier!! Thank you all so much!

This facility is outstanding. We were travelling when our little dog needed care. From the phone call I initially made to the time of discharge, we encountered nothing but the very best care for our dog. Dr Multala is a wonderful. She gave us a step by step plan of care & why they would do certain tests. We had concerns about were he would be & she took us straight back. CLEAN..no funky hospital smell. (We visited our little guy & I was sitting on the floor with him..it's that clean). The visiting hours are 10am-10pm. I can't say enough good about this facility. They could teach a few of our "human" hospitals how it should be done. BTW...their costs for treatment we found to be very reasonable. Please consider taking your pet there...wish we had such a place where we live.
Thank you so much OP staff!

We had a hard case. And an incredibly difficult decision to make for our Kemba. He was only 2 years old, and we simply did not see our lives without him for a long time. We were referred to OP because of how aggressive he had become while being in the pain he was in. Our other vets could not control him. We can't thank OP enough for being so kind to us during this difficult time in our life. For keeping calm through out the process. For helping us make the right choice. I still question everything we had done the past week... I have been absolutely devastated. But deep in my heart I know it was right at the time. This was his third surgery and it had never turned like this before. He always let us care for him. I am still trying to get to the point where I feel at peace with our decision. I was assured the doctors would have never let us make the choice we did if it wasn't the right one. I sit here crying remembering my sweet puppy. I am so sorry OP that you had to see him behave the way he was. That simply was not who he was before this tragedy happened. </3 Thank you for being compassionate and caring, and for handling a very traumatic and difficult situation with grace.

Last night our healthy dog suddenly feel ill. We brought her here to see what was wrong and had to make a very difficult decision. We would just like to thank the staff for helping us in this very hard time and being very caring and understanding. Our 12 yo fur baby took her last breath at 10:02pm last night with her family by her side. We are very grateful that instead of letting our dog suffer the staff worked diligently to tell us what was wrong right and take the pain away from our baby.

It's awesome to have access to a veterinarian 24 hours per day. Our pup had a blockage and would have have been in real danger had we had to wait til morning. They were able to help her out and she is doing just fine now. They are expensive but you are paying a premium for the convenience and 24/7 access. I would come here again if the need arose.

I have been going to this practice for many years. First on an emergency basis and then I changed to make them my regular vet. I have probably seen most of the vets there over the course of the years. The specialists and the regular staff are all wonderful. The addition of a CT scan machine this past year helped a lot in diagnosing one of my dogs with back problems. It's nice to know they are there 24 hours. I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff are including the staff at the desk.

My cat was very sick. Got turned away at another hospital so I took him here. Before they asked what was wrong, they explained that it would cost more because it was an emergency and not an appointment. Really only care about money. Then when blood work came back the next day, the vet stated the treatments and costs. My cat was in end stage kidney failure. There is really no treatment that would help. Putting an end to his suffering was never given as an option. .

Brought in our old pal, they triaged him, and put me in a room to wait. Within a minute, the main vet came in, stone faced, and said, He's already passed, matter of factly, as if I am a moron for not knowing. I brought him in with body tremors, so I was in a state of shock and disbelief. I burst into tears, asking if they could give oxygen, anything, she kept assuring me he was already gone. Very uncompasionate, the front desk had more care!

Very upset with our recent experience at this location. When we called regarding our cat, we were told the inital cost of $127.00 which was accurate, but was also told that any additional charges/actions would be cleared with us before being completed. Next thing you know, our cat had several things done to her and 4 different medications prescribed, bringing our total to $400.00. Definitely not what we were expecting to pay, especially after having been told that everything would be cleared with us first. This will be the last time using this clinic.

Had to meet with Dr. Fingeroff about a possible bone chip in my cat's knee. He diagnosed it as either a torn or strained ligament and suggested rest for a few weeks to see if it would improve. Impressed that we did not have to rush to surgery. Orchard Park has always been great with my complicated cat concerns. I had 2 cats in the past with cancer. Dr. Brummer was awesome in helping me through treatment and end of life issues.

Absolutely TERRIBLE. NEVER NEVER NEVER again will I trust them. They suck as much money out of you they possibly can and give you NO information, NO results, NO answers. The doctor last night told me "you don't like it go somewhere else" after I drove two hours out of my way to specifically go to them. My dog has been waiting 28hrs for CT scans. Its taken me 7hrs to get someone to give me an "update". Update is nothing has been done. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service.

I am not one to write reviews, but when it comes to the health of our furry creatures I find it absolutely necessary to urge you to stay far away. My dog was given inadequate, sketchy and very expensive care that did nothing to resolve the issue. After noting a limp we took my dog here - they took one xray, sent us home with pain meds, and said it was too small a fracture to diagnose so just let it heal and get better. At this point my dog limped only once in awhile. It didn't get better - we sought new care and was told the xrays were not thorough enough (only took from one angle and didn't capture the healthy joint alongside the swollen) and it should have been splinted to ensure proper healing. The paw kept getting worse so more xrays were done by another vet and our dog is finally getting the care she deserves. When I called this establishment to ask for a refund (because the infection is thought to be a direct effect of their lack of care) they sent me a ridiculously long, insensitive denial. We are pursuing further action and praying this doesn't lead to amputation on the part of veterinary neglect. Please, seek treatment elsewhere. The minute you walk into their Ritz like establishment you'll quickly see it's about providing sketchy treatment at the highest price and disavowing accountability later through stating they gave suggestions that they did NOT give. Oh, and when I told my vet about my experience they knew right away that it was OP (despite the numerous emergency vets in the area) even though I did not tell them which vet. Please, stay away. They prey on nervous pet owners and exploit them.

My dog was admitted 5 days ago in critical condition. The staff is not helpful and only cares about getting paid. I visit the hospital everyday and am made to wait to see my dog. I was told yesterday that it would be a 15-20 minute wait , 30 minutes later I was still unable to see her and was told they did not know how much longer it would be. This is the third time this has happened. When I went back a second time yesterday, I asked to see her and no one came out for 15 minutes, I had to ask again and was rudely brought in the back to finally see her. I am made to feel like an inconvenience because I want to visit my dog. I live 45 minutes from the hospital . Today I went to see her and was told that it would be a while before I could see her because it is a holiday weekend and they are busy and short staffed. They could not guarantee me how long it would be before I could visit my dog nor could they tell me what would be a good time to come back. Because the hospital is short staffed, I do not get to see my dog? I think it is important to her health to visit with her everyday but the staff makes that nearly impossible. They have no problem telling me that I need to put additional funds on the bill and they do not want to wait for that, but I have to wait an unreasonable time, making it quite difficult to see her everyday. I do work full time and have other dogs at home that need to be taken care of.

Orchard Park Hospital saved our dog's life. I cannot express how amazing our experience was with the entire staff at OP. If I could give 10 stars I would. Our labrador became very ill while we were traveling in the upstate NY area and we didn't know where to go. We are from New Jersey and many hours away from home. We called a few hospitals and they didn't have any appointments to see our dog. He would have died. We called OP and someone immediately answered and told us to come right away. When we arrived we had a room, X-rays, and an ultrasound within a few hours and he went in for surgery a couple of hours after that. The doctor called us right after surgery with a detailed report. Not only was the staff well informed, accessible, and kind, the facility was state of the art and prestine. We called multiple times to check up on our dog and the vet techs and nurses were so helpful and informative. We were given full reports, medications, and advice from several doctors and nurses upon discharge. We were even able to buy the special food at the desk. The receptionist also told us about a website to use to find his one med. at the cheapest, nearest pharmacy. We could it have been in better hands. I thank god that we found this Hospital. THANK YOU ORCHARD PARK STAFF!!!

Helpful staff. Bird emergency and after bad experience at another emergency vet with on call bird specialist this place offered to help and do whatever they could. My love Mister ended up passing to Rainbow Bridge but I was grateful to the after hours Doc for making him comfortable and trying. Mister was old for his breed. Staff compassionate, gave me time to privately say goodbyes and was surprised a week later to get a condolences card in mail.

OPVMC staff was friendly and caring, and did their best to help our dog in (what we didn't realize would be) his final week. He was hospitalized for a few days, and we were allowed to visit and sit with him during the day, and were provided regular phone updates when we weren't there.

I will say that they're not cheap, but for the service they provide, it's worth it.

I'd like to give special thanks to Dr Wajda. She was the overnight doctor on duty when we first brought him in. She was very empathetic during visits and phone calls and sent us a very nice card and message after we lost him.

Dr Minnier was also quite involved during Pepe's hospital stay, personally calling with updates and stopping to talk with us when we were visiting him in the hospital. The techs in the hospital were friendly and helpful as well. Thank you.

I don't have a problem so much with the Hospital o...

I don't have a problem so much with the Hospital overall as I do with one particular 'doctor' that is employed at this facility.

My cat began to lose weight and became very lethargic, so we brought him in on Oct. 2nd. We had extensive blood work drawn up at the suggestion of 'doctor' Amioka. She called us at home later that afternoon and read us (on speaker phone) the results of his blood work. One by one, down the list she read off the results, noting that some levels were elevated, but "nothing of concern". Just "slight elevations". She suggested we come back for x-rays, which we did...the same day. She found nothing on the x-rays and suggested the next step would be an ultrasound, told us the [outrageous] cost of $600 and left it to us! Since she 'found nothing of concern', we opted to not have the ultrasound. We took our boy home and kept an eye on him.

The weekend of Oct. 13-14, our sweet boy took at turn for the WORST. He stopped eating and could barely move. By the evening of the 14th, we decided to have another veterinarian look at his blood work and x-rays. I contacted OPVMC and requested that they fax his records to the other doctor. The morning of Monday Oct. 15th, the second veterinarian contacted me and indicated that his Liver enzymes were extremely high and that he needed medication "IMMEDIATELY". I am not joking. This was the very SAME blood work that Amioka at OPVMC took on Oct. 2nd, NOT new blood work! This second veterinarian did NOT examine our boy....she merely looked at his records and told us he needed attention.

This second veterinarian advised that there were only TWO veterinarians in this area that had the in-depth ultrasound machine needed to look at his organs; Tamke in Cheektowaga, and unfortunately....OPVMC. As we were extremely vexed that OPVMC DROPPED THE BALL on our sweet boy's blood work, we decided that we would go with Tamke. That same day, I drove to Tamke's office with my boy with the hopes of an emergency ultrasound, but it is by appointment only. We scheduled his ultrasound for that Thursday (the 18th). While we were there, he was seen by Emergency Vet Services, which is in the same building as Tamke. They gave him some food (it was the last meal he would eat), gave him antibiotics, gave him an appetite stimulant, injected a water sac-type of thing to keep him hydrated, and sent us on our way....with the hopes that he would make it till Thursday.

Unfortunately, the next day (Tuesday), our sweet little creature took a turn for the worse. He had not eaten in over 24 hours and was lifeless. We had no choice but to take him to OPVMC....for an emergency ultrasound, as we knew he would not make it till Thursday. It was the second worst day of our lives. I had requested that anyone BUT Amioka see him, and a wonderful doctor (Dr. Burke) examined our boy. Unfortunately, it was too late. He had turned yellow. Anyone whose had a cat knows that if they turn yellow, they will die....unless you have a few thousand dollars you can spend on hospitalization, feeding tubes, surgery, etc. And even that was still no guarantee that our boy would make it. We decided to have him put down....but NOT at that facility. We took our angel home and spent our last night with him.

Sweet Miles died Wednesday, October 17th....with all of us there to comfort him and watch him leave this life and enter the next one. The worst day of our lives! Literally.

IT MUST BE NOTED that I inquired, and Dr. Burke indeed acknowledged, that had Amioka stressed the elevated levels in his blood work, and further stressed that an ultrasound should have been done when we initially brought him in, and if they could have put him on liver medication sooner, he could have been saved.

Yes, we are bitter. We are mad. He died two days ago and I feel an extremely strong need to share this experience.....especially if it saves even just one precious animal. In our opinions, that person has no business whatsoever in analyzing blood work or diagnosing treatment. Be aware if you go there.

My vet instructed me to take my cat, Diego, to this clinic because his breathing was rapid/labored. Another cat in my home had a respiratory infection and I believe Diego caught it. A staff member came to the waiting room and took Diego quickly. All the staff acted like it was all routine/humdrum and explained very little to me. The doctor who examined Diego was flat/monotone - told me he noticed nothing wrong with his breathing and he did not have a respiratory problem. He did, however, have a grade 2 heart murmur and a cardiac workup was recommended for $1000. I declined, stating that if Diego did not have a respiratory problem, then I would follow up with the regular vet about his apparent heart condition. The monotone doctor proceeded to tell me that Diego could die suddenly at any time due to the heart problem. I hesitantly declined since he made me feel like a non-compliant parent. I paid the hundreds of dollars owed and left. Later that night, Diego's breathing worsened and I took him to the Greater Buffalo Emergency Vet on Genesee St. near the airport. The staff were warm and attentive. The doctor examined Diego thoroughly, ran a simple blood test which showed his heart was not the issue (the vet there said his murmur was only a Grade 1) and she treated him with an injection antibiotic, steroid, and appetite stimulant for the respiratory infection that he had. He immediately improved and rapidly improved to normal over the next few days. I will never take my pets to Orchard Park again and it pains me that I paid hundreds of dollars there for absolutely nothing but a waste of time and a lot of stress. Diego is doing great now thanks to the wonderful care he received at the Greater Buffalo Genesee St. clinic.

My cat ate a long piece of string, leading to vomiting/refusal to eat. Went to her vet twice, but they couldn t tell what was the matter so referred us there. As soon as she got to this location, they found the string and did emergency surgery. Everyone treated my cat like she was their own. She had a couple days stay there to heal, and we could call anytime to check in on her. Everyone was very kind and helpful to us and to my cat, she healed very quickly and is back to her usual self. Can t say enough about how kind and professional they were!

Apparently staff and vet dont talk to each other. Our dog, gunther, ate some chocolate (1.4 oz x2). So 2.8 oz total, which i told the staff before my wife and gunther got there. They said they would check how toxic it was to his weight. I record all my phone calls so I have a transcript to prove it. My wife did have the chewed wrapper that you could almost not read and somehow she was asked for the same information from her. Well she misread it as 14 oz, instead of someone double checking with me or anyone even questioning the two different numbers, my wife was pressured into more services. They tried the overnight thing, luckily she backed out of that one. But I am pretty sure they got us for at least an extra $100. I know they are a good place when the services are needed, but they need to take more than a few minutes when all the information doesnt add up. What if it was the other way around, and I told them it was 28oz and she misread it as 2.8oz while she was there? Would that have been double checked?

I have been using Orchard Park Vet for 10+ years now & cannot say enough about how amazing they are. They treated my dog with Addison's disease for 7+ years after she was misdiagnosed at another vet & almost lost her life because of it. Thanks to their excellent facility & vets she went on to live a long, healthy & happy life. They were also able to find a tumor in my 4 month old puppy that turned out to be cancerous & by such fast & effective diagnosis/treatment/surgery they saved her life as well. I would never trust my pets anywhere else. Keep up the excellent work!

We've just had our first experience with a vet emergency and Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center saved the day.

When our female Rhodesian Ridgeback ingested clothing, THREE vets at the practice we frequent told us that major surgery was absolutely necessary and the only option. They flatly refused to try an alternative to surgery to empty her stomach stating that surgery was the only possible solution. And then we went to Orchard Park Vet Med Center desperately seeking to spare our girl from an unnecessary major surgery. It was our first experience with OPVMC.

Not only did OPVMC give us non-surgical endoscopy as an option, they listened to us respectfully and took care of the problem without even needing the endoscopy, giving us a refund and our healthy Ridgeback girl back within 2 hours!

Thank you Dr. Rickwald and Dr. Brummer (who we did not have the pleasure of meeting) for sparing our girl a major unneeded surgery. Their level of integrity, expertise, ability to think outside the box and a true commitment to the well being of our pet ABOVE ALL ELSE left us astounded and impressed.

Today our girl is back to normal rather than recovering from a major invasive surgery.

We will be OPVMC customers and cheerleaders for a long time to come.

Very clean and efficient staff. Still shaking my head at the 5,000 bill for urinary stones/cat....I'm certain Dr. Whitehead is shaking his head at me for allowing it.... having to pick up pain med after his surgery at Pine pharmacy in Williamsville for 50.00??? Seriously would of been happy with the 2.00 pill. Have a plan of action for your pets in the event of an emergency... check with your current vet for their hours and what to do in the event of an emergency. A lot of vets do have emergency hours now and are more practical with their pricing.

I absolutely think that Orchard Park Veterinary Ho...

I absolutely think that Orchard Park Veterinary Hospital is one of the best facilities in the area! I moved to the area two years ago and needed a place to treat my crew. I had a dog with a very difficult medical condition when I moved here and I am used to a very high standard of care. I had difficulty finding someone that I trusted and needed someone quickly.

I will be honest. Initially the front desk staff turned me off. I found the person who took my first call to be extremely rude and unhelpful. I'm so glad that I decided to move past that initial impression! I saw Dr. Susan Metzger and found her to be absolutely wonderful. She took on my challenging crew. When my one kitty became so ill that he had to be hospitalized, I felt that they provided outstanding care. When it finally came time to make that most difficult of decisions, the entire staff was kind, caring and compassionate. Finally, kudos to the staff for working me in when I forgot the time of my appointment and showed up an hour early! They didn't make me wait and I greatly appreciated that (even though I would have been happy to do so. It WAS my fault!)

A few small problems which is why I had to knock one star off this review:
- The initial contact people (front desk staff) can be a little rude (as in my first impression.)
- I felt a little rushed after my beloved cat was euthanized to leave. I would have appreciated just a few more minutes to say my goodbyes.
- And, I had to squeeze one of my kitties in for an urgent visit due to his sudden inappropriate litter box habits to rule out medical issues. I was going to be leaving the country for 2 weeks and my pet sitter asked me to have him checked out before I left. I appreciated them seeing him but the vet I saw that evening was absolutely the rudest, most condescending vet I have ever encountered. The only really BAD experience of any of my visits. He made me feel ashamed- and I am NOT a bad pet parent.

I really love this place and am proud that they care for all my animals.

I brought my small cat Samantha in the day after Christmas. She was in really bad shape. She hadn't eaten in at least 2 days, and wasn't drinking anything. She was extremely lethargic and in obvious distress. I rushed her in right after I got home from work. They immediately took her in and gave her an IV with fluids and anti-biotics. They put her in an incubator to get her body temperature back up. They told me to go home, and they'd call me when the results came back in. An hour or so later the doctor called with bad news. Her creatinine was 6.7 (normal is 1.5ish) and her BUN was 180+ (normal is 30ish). She either had an acute kidney disease or chronic kidney disease that finally got overwhelming for her. They let me stay with her for a few hours to ease her nerves. The next day (Thursday) I went to see her, and she looked better but not "normal". They did another blood test to see if the kidney levels came down. Thankfully they came way down to 2.4 and 33. She started moving around a little bit and her tail started wagging a little more. I was hopeful, but trying not to be overly optimistic. The next morning (Friday) one of the techs left a nice voicemail saying Samantha was being affectionate, and moving around a lot. At 10:00 I went to see her and she was mostly back to normal, being her playful self. Dr Hedges was there and he told me the news of her 3rd blood test. Her levels came down to 1.54 and 33! He had the techs show me how to administer the IV fluid under her skin at home, and they sent me a care package with syringes, 12 days worth of fluid and a prescription for an appetite stimulant. We gave her 100ml of fluid on Sunday, and Monday, 80ml on Tuesday, and 50ml on Wednesday. She had been drinking at normal levels by this time and had put on noticeable weight. We just got back today (Saturday) from her follow-up check up and everything looks good! I have no doubt that they saved her life that night. For the amount of care Samantha received, the bill was very reasonable. She was there for approximately 42 hours straight, in an incubator with an IV and medicine. She was constantly monitored with multiple Techs and Doctors looking over her. Everyone was cordial to me and my fiance, and they explained everything to us very well. I couldn't be happier with the outcome right now. Samantha is back to her usual self, running around the house like a maniac, and cuddling with everyone around her. It was the best $1900 I've ever spent. Worth every penny to get her back. I'll keep a closer eye on her now, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to bring any of my animals to the OPMC. Thank you guys and gals for taking such good care of her!

The veterinarian we worked with (Dr. Hall) was very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, explained everything, and included us in making decisions about the plan of care. She clearly is very dedicated to her practice as well, was available to talk on the phone and answered all our questions.

This was my first, and i hope to say ONLY experien...

This was my first, and i hope to say ONLY experience with this clinic. Due to a very traumatic decline in my Dogs health we had no choice but to use this clinic "late" last night to have our dog put to rest. I called prior to and spoke with Ann who explained to me they charge by the vets time, weight, and how you want after care proceeded with-i.e-cremation.

Fast forward to an abrupt decision, piling into the car with little though, and getting to the clinic. They take us promptly into a room (no soft lighting, no comfortable ambiance, lowered lights, blankets, etc. Where I was asked to sign a form, told the price- looked at as if "pay up" and left to wait.

Visited again by same staff member who was dressed formally, assuming she was a front desk/secretary. Who proceeded to ask if we wanted to have our dog who was very anxious and riled- who does not like car rides, given a sedative to calm him down prior to saying bye. SURELY, why not. This woman then left, came back and asked for more money before any kind if clinical staff member visited us in the room.

IMPORTANT FACT: I HAVE NEVER PUT DOWN A DOG IN MY LIFE.

I sat in this room with my dog who was present from my teenage to late twenty-something years. Unsure of what was going to happen, do they take me to my dog somewhere more "peaceful" for this process? How do they actually put the dog down? How long does it take? Where does he go from here.

The tech came in to administer the sedative, offered a blanket for him to get comfy stating it takes about 15 to set in-then disappeared. No blanket came back until he was taken 20-25 minutes later for the IV, then dropped back off with the infamous blanket and a new tech asking if we are ready....

READY FOR WHAT? I had no clue what was even going on this whole process, except for knowing my dog was not settled- comfortable- and to me no effort made by the staff for this horrible decision to be made even a little bit easier. I was then on the spot for deciding when the vet comes in to put my dog to sleep, never even knowing I was the one making the time decision etc which in my opinion was worse. I was never, and never would have been ready to say bye to be fair.

I told this new tech returning my dog from his IV- I have never done this before, didn't know what was even going on etc. This young woman sincerely explained the process to us.

Then followed by the Vet coming to to put him asleep-apologizing for the lack of information prior to.

I am not writing this to bash the clinic, but maybe to bring to their attention this is not a standard experience for everyone walking through their emergency doors. All in all, hopefully moving forward your facility can implement some type of policy or protocol for people such as myself dealing with this life changing experience.

The vet herself (Dr.Burke) was very mildly mannered, and sympathetic to our reasoning for the visit. Just wish we could of seen her prior to the other staff handling this sensitive situation, and maybe we would of had a better understanding of how everything was to go.

I was referred to OPVMC by our primary care veterinarian here in the Rochester area for treatment of a salivary mucocele/11 year old Italian Greyhound. As a matter of fact, my highly regarded long-time PC vet told me OPVMC was her 1st choice for us...that was good enough for me! I would like to thank Dr. Kloc and staff for taking such good care of my little boy, Floyd. The overall experience was pleasant and very positive. Being so far away from him during his procedure was difficult but I never doubted he was in excellent hands. Western NY residents are fortunate to have such a superb practice so close by. I sure hope I don't need to make that I90 drive ever again (unless it's to watch Bills or Sabres WIN), but it is reassuring to know OPVMC is here if I need them! Thank you!!

Because of covid 19 veterinary clinics are cut to 25% staff. Leaving 1 vet and limited staff to try and see patients and give them the care needed. I called everywhere for 2 days when i realized it was time to let my baby go without help. On May 2nd My dog Buddha of 13 yrs quickly deteriorated and i knew i had to find someone that could help him because My vet office told me they couldnt get him in for a week so i called Orchard Park. I was scared because i didnt know how they would be. They told me not to worry and get there when i could and that they would get me right in without waiting in my car. Every person i met was so kind and compassionate. You could see the genuine care in their eyes. I was hysterical so it took me a bit to answer questions. They didnt mind. They understood. They took their time to explain everything that would take place and ask me if i wanted to hold him during the process. They gave him something to relax him and told me to take as much time as i needed with him and after it was over told me to stay as long as i needed. The compassion didnt end there. I had called Monday to ask about a special urn i wanted and hearing the hurt in my voice she told me they would like to have their counselor call me if that was okay. I dont know if i would of made it through this without them.... I never thought that i would consider another Vet but i am going to transfer my other babies records there when this is over.

We have been very grateful through the years for the talented, compassionate staff at the Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center. Emergencies unfortunately happen and it is a huge comfort to know they are there to help during a very scary time. Right now our Lexie is in their care overnight and I know she is getting the very best medical attention by outstanding professionals. Our pets are family and it's our place to provide for them.

Above and beyond in compassion and understanding in the most difficult time of a pet parent's life - saying goodbye, especially when unprepared for the event so soon. The front desk staff helped coordinate my furbaby's final vet visit (and sad to say these were the events that brought us in for the first time) with such care, calling me right back with their availability. Dr. Emily Rabener was extremely considerate, kind, and honored my baby's final moments with us and gave us all the time we could ask for before his passing. He was treated with respect and dignity and they presented him to us in a wonderful "box casket" to take him home - after all, cats love boxes. Afterwards, we were still allowed to stay as long as we needed to before my partner and I were safe to drive. I will be recommending your services to anyone in need of a 24/7 vet or a primary vet with the ease of scheduling and accessibility. Thank you as well for the beautiful sympathy card, it was so touching to receive.

These people are a disgrace in many ways. They didn t answer the phones when I had a baby squirrel that needed care. They never told me to spade my dog who died of a uterus that burst. And now my daughters dog has sat there for two days in need of surgery because they have emergency cases. Her dog is an emergency case. The cost of surgery is ridiculous. These doctors are there for the money not the animal.

I had heard good things about the clinic so I decided to take my puppy in to the emergency center today because she was throwing up for a while.

After the initial consult, x-rays, and a shot, Dr. Rickwald returned to the room to talk to me. However, during the conversation told me that he "had other patients to see and needed to go" (but he was not with my dog for an extended period of time - initial consult, xrays, shot). Then when I tried asking about appropriate chew toys and bones (especially since she is not feeling well), he told me they are all pretty much safe as long as the dog is supervised. When I asked specifically about raw marrow bones from the butcher, he said, "I feel like we are talking in circles."

I understand that this is an emergency clinic, however it does not mean you should dismiss your client's concerns and treat them with disdain. I left with several unanswered questions. I am not sure if I will return.

On the contrary, the other people working there were great, polite, and patient, and they did try to answer my questions.

They are extremely expensive, even for an emergency!

I had the unfortunate necessity to come here with my very sick dog (I did not realize or know how sick he was at the time, it all happened so suddenly). I walked in, burst into tears while trying to explain what was happening. I don t want to go through the details , but after a rough two days of treatment, we had to put down our beloved family dog. Throughout this process, the staff was incredibly supportive and caring, and gave us as much time as we needed to visit and stay with our dog. When it was time, they very lovingly explained the process and waited till we were ready to say goodbye. After, they sent us some lovely poems along with a nice card with flower seeds, and paw prints from our baby. I got a personal card from one of the vets as well. It was such a hard time, but they helped us through it. I can t thank them enough for their professionalism and their sensitivity and love.

We had an emergency and were sent here after our dog was stabilized by a local vet. We regretted the situation. We were separated from her immediately while she was conscious and in critical condition. Our other vets would not so this. It turns out they had flipped her over, off of the side where she was hit, and were pulling fresh blood out of her chest cavity. She had been stabilized in the other posotion for 2 hours. They came in to tell us she was bleeding so much and it would cost 14,000 or more to have a surgeon find out where she was bleeding from. By the time they let us go in to see her we had very little time to consider whether we should try some transfusions, she began screaming, and we had to put her down. She was a very important part of our lives, a still very young and working dog on our farm, with such awesome gifts with people...it just seemed silly that these people are here all night and didn't seem to even want to try to save her life. The surgeon wasn't even there! We wish we had taken her to our vet in Randolf. He would have taken care without charging so many thousands and would have kept us with her to see what was happening until we figured out what to do. I am sorry to give a bad review. I don't even know who to talk to there, but I realize they can do good there also, and hope the best for them.

My dog tangled with a porcupine at 10pm. He was bleeding and thrashing in pain.We are in Jamestown. I could not get ANY local vet to see him. The Erie emergency vet hospital was sending emergencies to Pittsburgh!
After calling Orchard Park, they said there might be a 3 hour wait, but when we got here, after 1-1/2 hour drive, they were waiting for us, explained the procedure, gave us an estimate, treated the dog, stitched a gash inside his mouth and on his foot,, explained how the surgery went, gave us meds and other instructions, all within 2 hours. And the cost was comparable to what I would have paid locally. I was very impressed with the entire experience there.

The good thing I will say about them was that everyone was nice to me. However waiting over 3 and a half hours to get Xrays done is ridiculous. I called ahead to ask if they thought I should bring her in or wait, and they told me there was no way to be certain. I only went here because our regular vet was closed and was worried that of I waited my cats leg could have been broken and not just sprained. I dont think I should have paid the $125 "emergency visit" fee. I understand that there are more pressing issues, like a dog violently throwing up or getting hit by a car but overall that visit was ridiculous.

All they care about is money. Said they would be right out to take care of my dogs vitals yet have seen 10 people get paperwork delivered to their car instead. Should not be allowed to call themselves and emergency vet. When I went in 4 young ladies were all standing around the front. Not busy at all just lazy. Your pet could be in the car dying and their paperwork is more important than seeing your pet. If I could give 0 stars I would give -1

The service was good, they saw me in a reasonable fashion and their staff was helpful. My only complaint is that someone labeled the syringe 1.5ml as opposed to the 1ml that was reccomend for my cats antibiotics. When you have to bathe a cat in water against their will for 5 minutes you generally aren't looking at the box that their medication comes in and you are more focused on what the syringe says. It was supposed to last from Saturday to Saturday but it only made it to Thursday before I had to pick more up. I called and explained that their must have been some kind of misunderstanding with the labeling and I went to pick up some more and they thankfully gave me another refill free of charge and I was glad to see that they did that. It only cost me a trip back out there but all and all they did a very good job and were quite insightful and compassionate to my situation. I hope I will never have to see them again but if I do this will be the place I go!
Thank you!

Cat health emergency necessitated vet visit. (Had gone close to home near Airport to Emergency Vet @ Genesee St. & they were HORRIBLE--wouldn't take Roadkill there after that experience!! ) Drove all the way out to the Orchard Park Animal Hospital, in a horrible state, especially after being treated horribly.
Best decision ever made... Worth the drive hands down. EVERYONE @ OPAH was efficient, compassionate, respectful, and extremely competent from the moment of arrival until our departure. My cat ended a up with a terminal diagnosis & ended up needing to be put to sleep. They provided us with a private (Rainbow) room & gave us all the time we needed... without any pressure whatsoever! This was especially appreciated, since it was such a sudden sad situation. A week later I received a sympathy card from OPAH, signed by all the staff, and I'd never been there except this once! I cannot give OPAH a higher recommendation than 5-stars, but would if I could. Should I ever get another pet, it is certain that I would return to the greatest people @ OPAH in a HEARTBEAT, for primary or emergency veterinary care.

They have always been very helpful to me when any of my pets were sick, or in need of surgery. They can perform the procedures that other vet clinics don't do, and have to send you elsewhere, such as for an ultrasound. Also, I can't imagine what I would do without Orchard Park Vet. Hospital's 24/7 availability.

My fathers cat got very sick over the weekend, so ...

My fathers cat got very sick over the weekend, so he took him into this clinic. The staff was extremely rude to my father, making snarky comments about how dirty his cats face was and how bad he looked. They would not bill him even though he stated he did not have the money and just wanted to get his sick kitty home. They embarrassed my dad and made a huge scene that he was not allowed to leave until he paid cash up front. If my dad knew that he was going to have to pay this amount up front for an emergency visit he would have gone to a different place. The ended up forcing him to fill out a credit card so he could pay for the emergency visit. Clearly he knew the visit was not going to be free, but I ve never known any sort of clinic that doesn t mail your bill to you?
Any other clinic I have been to for my animals have no problem billing for the visit. It seems this place has absolutely no concern for the animals or the owners that are in complete distress about their sick fur babies. This clinic should probably try focusing on improving their customer service skills and have a little more understanding and compassion for people that don t have hundreds of dollars in their pocket at 5:30 pm on a Sunday.
My dad is retired law enforcement and should have been treated much better by your staff and doctors.

Brought in our dog with a possible uti. They received us quickly and they were very kind. The vet was fantastic! She went over everything with us and our dog. They spoiled our little pup. The price was actually very cheap considering it was an emergency clinic. They answered our stupid questions and helped us go over all possibilities when she didn't have a uti. I read reviews and was hesistant to take her but this was the closest vet to our home at 10 PM. if there was ever another emergency, I would go back right away. Everyone was kind and respectful to us and our nervous dog.

Awful. It s very apparent from walking in within one minute you get an immediate feeling that these people absolutely do not care about you or your pets. I made an appointment for 830 with somebody next to me that heard that. I wrote it down and put it in my phone for an alter sound for my sick dog. I got there at 8:10 they told me to have a seat. And at 8:25 they called me up to the counter, check me in and then told me ma am I am sorry we cannot see you today because your appointment was at 8 AM . I said absolutely not I made this for 830 there s a lot of reasons why I would not make it for 8 AM. And she got very defensive with me and quite rude and said ma am, I have a recording of the conversation . Right then and there proves to me that these people have absolutely no regard for any customer service at all. I got a very cold and rude response. While waiting I noticed that they did mess up another appointment. Based on the reviews you read on Google I m glad I didn t go there anyways! Read the reviews! In addition I took a full day off of work and drove 45 minutes to this appointment !!!!
