Second time at this hotel and it was a great stay! The staff is always amazing! The food and drinks were great, a tad expensive but that's to be expected at a hotel. The only issue I had during my stay was the temperature of the hotel itself. The lobby, restaurants and our room were all uncomfortably warm and there was no way to change that. But I will be back and really enjoyed our stay!

Everything is nice and clean and convenient. Only complaint is that the rooms are little old and there was some guy who was a jerk driving in the parking lot. Other than that everyone was friendly and accommodating
Went here for a holiday brunch. Have stayed in the past, though. Brunch food was good, although variety is low compared to some other places. Plenty of food, though.
I stayed one day here. It is very good, not the cheapest place to stay, but I understand why it is the cost it is. Very beautiful building with a lot to do there, you can hang out all day there without a room with things to do and views to see.
The only complaints are no mini fridge in the room. And the service could be better. The staff seems nice, but seems fake. And sometimes it is a bit difficult to get a straight answer to a question.
In rebuttal to the owner s response (2 hours ago) to the review posted by Steve Picazio 4 days ago. We are staying here now. Absolutely NO information is given either at check in, in your room, or throughout the hotel, of what their Covid restrictions are. The service (except for the kind young man that checked us in) is sub-par. The restaurants are open sporadically, and please be aware that while you can get anything off of the restaurant menu as takeout to eat on the veranda, the tables on the veranda are dirty and unwashed. So much for observing Covid restrictions. I ve been in the hospitality industry for over 35 years, and have stayed at some wonderful hotels. If this was ever one of those, it isn t now. Ownership needs to either stop hiding behind their excuses of Covid restrictions, or try living up to them.
Beautiful, incredible scenic views of the White Mountains, balconies, fireplaces, unapologetic luxury. Indulge it has it all! Doting staff, delucious food, well appointed rooms. You will love every minute of your stay. Pet friendly
Although it is a beautiful historic hotel, it is in need of major renovation, especially the heating system in the rooms. The radiator in our room made loud clinging and pumping noise that awoke us throughout the night. We had to turn the pump/heat off the second night and sleep in the cold room. The staff at the front desk were very slow in responding to requests and although the room controller changed our room the next day to the room we had requested online, we had to wait till 4pm the next day (only to be in the room that had problems with the radiator). The hotel gave us 1 night complementary but it hardly covers the inconvenience and horrible experience we had at the hotel.
This is a wonderful old hotel with a unique ambience. Try to go when it is not too busy as the lack of local dining options can often mean the hotel can get overwhelmed. The breakfast buffet is awesome. I'd also recommend their ski-n-stay packages in the season. The Bretton Arms is a smaller inn-style property that is part of the same resort but has a cosier, more intimate feel, but not so good for kids. There are many winter activities but I'd recommend the Alpine skiing above all else. The skiing is classy and offers something for all, but is especially good for young families and those with moderate skiing experience.
The staff is absolutely wonderful, very friendly, very accommodating. The hotel and surrounding views are breathtaking. However, we found the beds to be hard in a bit uncomfortable. Our overall experience was good and we will give this hotel a try again.
The golf course is second to none. Everytime I play here I am never disappointed. The best is that they offer a military/ veteran and first responder discount which makes it all that much sweet.
Great old-fashion hotel. Overall wonderful experience. Great place to spend Christmas. Most importantly the staff is excellent. Professional, friendly, helpful and really good people. Can't stress enough how much they contributed to our wonderful stay at the Mount Washington Hotel.
Because of a plumbing problem, no one could stay at the hotel. That was out of their control and absolutely understandable.
We were then bused over to the worst hotel I've ever stayed at for our first night. One pillow was crusted with body fluids...you know what fluids I'm talking about. I should have taken a picture, it was revolting. The manager said we were probably wrong and that substance probably wasn't what it clearly was. "I'm sorry" would have been nicer to hear than "you're probably wrong".
For the second night they "accidentally" over charged us by four hundred dollars but it was resolved after a lengthy talk with the manager. They assured us they would have caught their error "eventually". I'm glad I checked my online banking because their receipt didn't reveal everything they had actually charged us. I don't know how that's even legal.
Apart from that it is a beautiful building with well maintained grounds. The one open restaurant was pleasant.
Many highs, and for this last visit, and many lows. Disappointing guest room with impaired systems and highly obstructed views (a paid upgrade) and a poor overall main dining room experience. The resort is under construction, which was an impactful surprise. Excellent bell, spa, bar, and patio service, and the Bretton Arms professionalism and dining always exceeds expectations. We were fortunate to have views of the changing colors thanks to an unexpected cold snap.
More detailed feedback was shared with the hotel about the experience, which hopefully helps improve the experience for others.
Amazing view and awesome service but it s very hard to get food, whether it s breakfast, or dinner. Breakfast stops very early and dinner requieres reservations and they only have like 2 restaurants. Very limited with food, and outside restaurants are not close by.
A favorite get away for my wife and I. We spent a couple of nights there celebrating our anniversary. It is by no means inexpensive but it is like stepping back in time to a bit less hectic time. Just relaxing on the porch looking out at Mt Washington makes the trip worthwhile. The hotel staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome.
They do charge a lot but that's probably because it costs a lot to maintain such an old and large property. The staff are amazing, the food is extraordinary, and the views are awesome. They do waste a lot of energy keeping the AC on with all of the doors open, and the rooms don't really have their own thermostats. But what they lack in efficiency they make up for with elegance. This will be a repeat once I save up enough again.
Stayed here with my two young kids (1 and 4) for the weekend. The resort does quite a bit to cater to kids, although older than mine for the most part. Still enough to do to keep mine occupied. I also visited the spa which was AMAZING but I didn't realize there's a whole lounge/jacuzzi/sauna that you can use all day; next time I'll plan to be there longer. Food is very good and the room was more spacious than expected. Overall, we had a wonderful time.
Beautiful mountain views at this historic hotel with friendly and accommodating staff. A great place for hosting weddings and events or for a weekend get away!!
Not bad, very historic, our room was big and i dint think they are all the same. Food brings the stars down, not too good, breakfast buffet overpriced and so underwhelming, even simple pancakes taste like paper and bagels are not fresh.
Great place to stay to see what it was like to visit back at the turn of the century. Beautifully restored with outstanding vistas year round. A little bit on the high side for pricing but worth it for the experience at least once.
Lovely and elegant hotel with exceptionally courteous, professional staff. The dining experience was excellent, the room was very comfortable and well-appointed, the bathroom was luxurious. I wish I could just move in and stay there forever.
Found a used condom box in my room that didn't belong to me or my wife on the third day of our stay. Disgusted, we tried to check out early, but the manager refused to accomodate us.
This is by far the most beautiful & comfortable hotel we have ever stayed in! A true treat. Majestic views, wonderful porches, lots of wildlife, beautiful sitting areas & top shelf staff. Went zip lining & hiking nearby.
World class Customer Service and Class without the snobbery. Every member of the staff is there to make sure you have your best vacation ever. Perfect for adventurers or just to relax and appreciate the comfort and views.
I love coming here to eat and to get a drink at the bar. The view is amazing and every season here is breathtaking. If you have a chance go to the Cave it is their bar/club downstairs and so much fun!
