I'm not a big fan of communal table seating, so that is always something that bugs me about this place, The noise level is quite high too. Servers always seem confused who is serving who, so I usually have to flag someone down to take our order.
Food is always very good, and price reflects that you're in a celebrity chef restaurant in The Plaza.

What a great time . Staying in the plaza so thought why not try Todd English was not dissapointed. First the east west oysters amazing. Then the main course My wife had lobster mac&chesse i chose the food hall burger best burger i have ever eaten . Staff was great and value for money. If in Nyc you must try Todd English .

Tasteless burger with something sharp that cut the roof of my mouth. Such a disappointment, I remember this place used to be good. Also, you aren't 21 club - you should offer fries or a salad. Go anywhere else I would advise. This place has been going downhill and seems to have hit bottom.
Update -
Server still hasn't returned, been 10 minutes. Waiting for them to get a check. He was pretty rude demanding I go back to the host stand to be seated. I explained quite calmly I was sat but told them I didn't need a menu since I was getting a burger.
Second update -
Server came and took my plate. No question of how was your meal.
I would strongly discourage anyone from coming here.

After eating dinner here on a Sunday night. We tried to use the restroom. Two guards said they were closed. They directed to the other end. We couldn t find any there. Went to the host to ask for directions. He pointed to where the guards were standing. We told him they were closed. He unapologetically said there were no other restrooms. We just spent almost $150 on dinner. They couldn t even provide us with restrooms or give an apology.
I was able to hold it and walk to our hotel a few blocks away.
I strongly dislike this place. Beware!

This is the first review I am writing and I dine all over the country. We have been dining at the Food Hall since it opened when we visit New York several times a year. Today is the last time we will give this establishment our business. We had a waiter Evan who had a terrible attitude. We wanted the same pizza we ordered last time (which was last month when we were in NY) and he said they couldn't do it. Finally he agreed to ask the chef but came back and said no, our waiter last month had no problem accommodating us. After we ordered our food. a manager came by the tables and stopped by ours and asked how things were and we told her, she offered to pick up dessert, which we kindly declined, that is not why we were complaining. That was the last time we saw her.
After we spoke to the manager, our waiter never came to our table again. How UNPROFESSIONAL!!! He sent a bus boy who was great throughout our meal. Instead of receiving a 30-35% tip, he still got a 20% because Pablo was so attentive and kind. The manager was useless and so was the waiter.
The Food Hall isn't what it used to be. it used to be a bustling packed restaurant, but it's not anymore. For the $100 plus tip our lunch was for two, (which is how much our fine dining lunch was at Maestro's Steakhouse the day before, with superior service) i would rather dine in a restaurant with better service and quite frankly better food. Goodbye Food Hall.

Probably the finest dining experience in The Plaza Food Hall, though seating on high chairs is hardly comfortable at all. We watched our food be skillfully prepared, and it tasted better than it looked - the scallops were perfectly delicious, though the presentation was rather rustic.
Out of busy hours, the place was nearly empty, and not being met or greeted by anyone upon arrival we walked into the restaurant and were a bit rudely asked to retreat and search for the hostess. For the rest of the evening, though, service was attentive and even friendly.

Met friends last night for what was a usually great happy hour in the bar. They put us on the sushi side of the bar- (divides by a small pillar). So we did not receive the real happy hour prices. Service was SLOW! Not the usual! Invited a dear friends mom out with us for happy hour with the girls ! So disappointed. I raved about this place from previous positive experiences... now have egg on my face!
AND just wanted people to know... the bill was $273 so I paid two hundred in cash... had the other two girls split the 73 and change plus tip. This AM my friend says she was charged $236 plus tip on her Amex! Wow just unacceptable! Please fix this she emailed the manager but zero reply today.

I liked the food, a hodge podge of everything especially when you're craving for not just 1 type of food. But the service sucked! We had to call a waiter to get our orders and took more than 20 minutes to have all our orders. Too bad, the food tasted good; they just have to be quicker and more service-oriented. I tried their branch in the Philippines, and the service was way better.
This may be one of the most delightfully surprisin...
This may be one of the most delightfully surprising and satisfying meals I've had in the city for quite some time now. After a day of light labor and lots of driving, we headed over to the Plaza Hotel Food Hall. In specific, we went into the Todd English Food Hall.
Considering all the delicious options at this destination, we were surprised to see such diversity in Todd English's dining menu. It included a complete raw bar, a medley of gourmet flat bread pizzas, burgers, salads, pastas and so much more.
The one thing that was quickly apparent was that everyone seemed to really be into their food. We ordered and shared three completely different dishes; Todd English Sliders with Parmesan Fries, a Sushi Platter and Fig and Prosciutto Pizza.
I had high expectations for the sliders and I was not let down. The Todd English sauce was a very nice addition on the side for dipping fries too. The Fig and Prosciutto Pizza was packed with figs and prosciutto and adorned with some julienned green onions. Every component of the pizza was top notch. Together, it was a party in my mouth. It went particularly well with the Pumpkin beer they had on draught.
The real jaw dropper during this excursion was the Sushi Platter. I cannot remember the last time I had sushi that was so immaculately prepared and presented. The order was massive, but we could not get ourselves to stop eating the delicious variety before us. If the sushi is always this good, I can see myself becoming a regular.
As someone whose favorite food is sushi, I can't even express how satisfied I was with this particular dish. Looking forward to my next visit.

I have no complaints about the food quality, our waiter is another story. Aside from not being attentive to our group (or bother to even simply refill empty water glasses or bring my drink) he just didn't like kids in the party and didn't try to hide it. When he explicitly told the hostess "no more kids!". We made reservations in advance and got a table in the back corner. Maybe this wasn't his ideal table but that's the way it is in life. One can't last long doing this job if that's the attitude. If the kids were rowdy and obnoxious I would be more understanding. I try my best not to write negative reviews (I believe this is my first) but this I had to. I don't like an otherwise good experience to be ruined unnecessarily.

Little except the risotto tater tots and beet salad were great. The flatbread pizza was greasy. The kale salad was also good but not great. The service was spectacularly disastrous. The waiter never followed up and waiter never apologized. The line to the bathroom made you feel like you were at NFL football game. The manager was very nice however and took off our drinks which saved this from being a one star.

Ive going to the plaza food hall for years and i somehow stumbled upon their rotisserie wgich I've never seen before! I ordered a grilled fennel sausage on a pretzel roll. Of course it comes with sauerkraut and all sorts of condiments.
I chose dijon mustard and mayo. Overall a nice juicy sausahe. The roll was good - not one of those generic flavorless grocery store hot dog buns. And the best part was that they offer tart tangy cornichons!

I sat at the bar with my friend to order a burger and fries and get a beer while my wife got some spring rolls from the food court. She tried to enter the establishment to tell us where she would be sitting and was rudely accosted twice to say she could not bring her packaged food into the place. She was not planning on eating it there and even offered to buy a beer so she could come talk to me in a basement food court with no cell signal. Even if there is a valid reason for this, there is a right way and a wrong way to speak to paying customers.
I had two beers and a cheese burger with fries for almost $60 after tip and it was mediocre. The patty was small, the meat was not seasoned, and the lettuce was wilted iceberg.
I don t leave reviews unless the food/service is either amazing or horrible. This place is a one star on service and food quality. Don t waste your money!

Service has declined quite a bit, food is hit or miss, which is unacceptable for the amount of money they charge. Everyone in our party of 4 had their food served at completely different times by many different people, none of which asked if we needed anything additional or how we were doing. When we finally did see the waiter well into our meals, we ordered more drinks and such. When only a few things were "delivered", we had to wait for him to pass through to remind him again. They were clearly way too busy for anyone to get a quality experience. Our lunch bill (2 adults + 2 children) was $200+, so we were expecting to have had great service and food to match. Mushroom flatbread was mushy and impossible to pick up and eat. What a shame, this being our 3rd time there, it's been getting worse and worse each time. This was the last time for us.

This is the most inconsistent service that I've ever seen at a restaurant at this price point. You can tell that by reading the reviews but I myself had the same experience. I brought my mom here for her birthday because I came once and had great food and experience however I was seated at the bar. Michelle and Christina were amazing however we originally was to be seated at one of those small round tables by the bar which are not tables to have a full course meal. Those tables should only be extensions of the bar and used for patrons only ordering drinks or maybe an appetizer. After seating us at a table we discovered our silverware was dirty. But what really displeased me was the fact that my mom's food came out 15 minutes before mine. What restaurant does that? The waiter explained it's because they have 5 kitchens and whatever dish is ready first from whichever kitchen, it comes out. I don't see why all the food is not held until the entire party's order is complete so that they can eat together. It seems very incompetent for a restaurant of this statue. The chef tried to give me a salad while I waited so that my mom was just not eating alone, however at that point I didn't care and we should of received a salad with both of our meals anyway from a restaurant like this. My mom's chicken was amazing yet they didn't give her enough rice to accompany a whole half chicken and there were no vegetables. Same thing with my salmon, delicious but not enough of the sides. Could of took my mom someplace better, highly disappointed!

Used to be,great, but it has changed. Way over priced for a sparse looking, dried chicken salad. Pasta Bolognese was over cooked. I regret wasting precious time of a dinner with friends in New York.

This place always confuses me. The front always acts like they are very exclusive and full, even when there are alot of seats open. If you are a single, you can't sit at a table, but must sit at a counter. I think the tables are communal. Got sat at a very awkward counter that was a corner and rounded, so I was sticking way out. It is hard to get your waiters attention when sitting at a counter also. Generally, love Todd English restaurants, and have been to many of them. Not sure about this one. Ordered the rigatoni bolognese. The bowl it comes in makes it feel very small, compared to when you see this sprawling salad served to the person next to you. The bolognese sauce is interesting in flavor....tastes like maybe there is nutmeg or something a little non traditional in it. It was good, but the flavor is a bit tinny, reminding me of spaghettios, and didn't have a rich tomato bolognese flavor like many others I've had in my lifetime. Also, this bowl of pasta will set you back $17, and this is at lunch time. I would maybe go back, but order something different.

We ate as a family..having mussels, greek salad salmon and harvest salad..mussels were a large serving as was the greek salad. The salmon was cooked perfectly as medium. The chicken on the harvest salad was the only thing not incredible! Our server, Boris was very attentive as well. Overall great experience! Price comparable to good eats in New York.

Haven t been here in years. Now remember why. Dreadful food.
Ordered the tatter tots as an appetizer just for fun. Uh! Cute idea, but really bad execution. Bland and boring. Also order two of the dumpling dishes. One was served with a kind of Indian mint sauce terrible accompaniment and the other with a kind of Thai sauce equally as terrible choice. The dumplings themselves were perfectly fine but no different from any take away Chinese restaurant.
For my main I ordered the Bolognese. Seriously bad. Too much cream and the chef is trying to be a little too clever by adding cinnamon which is an authentic ingredient of Bolognese in some regional recipes, but even so, overwhelmed the dish. The whole thing was a hot mess and totally forgettable.
My friend ordered the fried chicken sandwich which came when I was about halfway finished with the Bolognese. (The restaurant had maybe a dozen lunch diners and the kitchen couldn t time two dishes?) The chicken was over fried, very dry and tasted as though the oil it was cooked in was burned/old. Totally totally forgettable.
On a positive note, the service was good and friendly and the space is beautiful. Still, would never come again certainly not for an uninspired lunch at $125 for two people.

This place was amazing! Located in the gorgeous Plaza Hotel on the lower level. It s filled with fine cheeses, breads, pastries, coffees, seafoods and cafes. The Todd English Food Hall also hosts a fabulous dining facility that my daughter and I ate lunch at. She wanted something, fried shrimp, that was not on the menu. The waiter spoke to the chef who was most accommodating and whipped up a perfect meal made to order for her and she was beyond pleased. My meal was superb as well. The manager came over, introduced himself to us and made small talk with my 8 year old which I find very nice to include the little ones as they are people too obviously! Lol. I highly recommend this place ... right across from Central Park.

Unimpressive and overpriced. Service also not up to par. For the prices they charge, everything should have been much better. $26 for pasta that isn't freshly made and the sauce didn't stick to the pasta. $26 for a burger with no seasoning plus $6 for shoestring fries? No thanks. Will not be back.

All staff was so professional and attentive. Anthony, our waiter, was great and really engaged in his job.
Burger was incredible and cooked up with true "grill" flavor. Pork dumplings were among the best I've ever had; they came out hot and freshly steamed, with a unique plum sauce (read: not jarred) and a hint of cilantro that elevated them to a striking flavor combo I'd never experienced before

Just left Todd English at the Plaza NY
They served my son a horrible dish of mac and cheese with lobster that almost made him pass out and tasted like dishpan water to myself and my wife.
We had to wait another 20 minutes to have my son served his dinner - all in all -40 minutes.
What adds insult to injury was the BRAZEN AGGRESSION of the server who felt our $30 tip was not enough and went on to embarrass us in public.
I gave him a $50 bill to shut him up and not embarrass my 11 year son in public.
I am calling the Department of Health now and complaining to the owners of the hotel.

I was a bit disappointed. Service was not above average but average. The quality of the dishes, although did use good quality ingredients, was not to my expectations. Terrible experience. Previously a must go in every visit to NY but I'm never coming back. Food was below average. (Used to be excellent) and the service was awful. The server and the manager suggested I was complaining just to avoid paying the bill. I have never seen such an arrogant behavior.
