Went here at 7pm on a Friday night and the dining room was largely empty. By ~9pm most tables were occupied. The food was very disappointing, especially for the price point. My 4th course, red snapper, was completely flavorless and left me wishing I had simply ordered a "larger" pasta course (which was mediocre) instead. Service was on par and the meal's timing was spot-on.

Net/net: spend a few extra bucks and have your cab take you to Gramercy Tavern, not too far away, for an equally priced meal with better quality all around.

We started with the grey mullet bottarga which is probably the best thing i have ever eaten un my life. With each new dish served our server provided a beautiful descriprion. He wad exceptionally friendly definitely helped make the evening sensational. Even Marisa May the owner visited our table and toasted to our celebration. My husband and I can't wait to go back.

Madison Sq Park area favorite. Delicious upscale and creative Italian food in a soaring, contemporary space. This reincarnation of the former San Domenico on CPS brings the expertise and charm of the father/daughter team of Tony & Marisa May back into play in a big way. Whether a party of two or a big group, this is a "no brainer" with outstanding service and a great wine cellar to boot.

One of my absolute favorites! Service is amazing here. The owner visited my table twice during the meal and was charming and not overbearing. Her staff truly seemed to care about us like it was their restaurant. (Likely following the lead of the owner). Lots of high quality Italian wines available. Best dish was the plate of mixed fromaggi, and their house special which is Ravioli Oevo.

Dinner at SD26 was one of the more disappointing meals I've yet to have in the city. Sure, we might have come in during Restaurant Week and okay, their Uovo Ravioli, consisting of a ricotta and spinach filling around a barely-cooked egg yolk, is a lesson in decadence, especially when paired with a truffle butter. But it doesn't excuse the tough, barely seasoned beef cheeks I got for my main course, which was still nearly inedible despite multiple dousings of black pepper and salt. Nor does it excuse the lackluster attempts at dessert, especially when it's evident that all the gelato and sorbet have been scooped from industrial-sized pre-made containers. There's plenty of other Italian restaurants to be found within a three-block radius of SD26, all of which serve much better dishes.

Wow.

Wow.
We went there for lunch so the place was empty which was nice.
The wild mushrooms soup was beyond our expectation and the food was just amazing.
My daughter didn't like the pizza because it wasn't what she uses to, but we thought it
was the best pizza we ever had.
Over all great great food and worth the price .
(lunch - $28 for appetizer and main course).

Tony May and his daughter Marissa are your venerable hosts at SD26. Quality, customer service and attention to detail are among the traits they hone each and every day. SD26 doesn't cut corners and only serves the best Italian fare possible. They also offer one of the city's finest wine list and top shelf liqueurs. Bonus Tip: Save room for dessert and then order your favorite Italian sweet. Sit back and be prepared to be amazed.

Beautiful yarn creations adorn the walls helping to soften the sometimes loud din. Many dishes available in 2 portion sizes making it easy to try the excellent and aromatic food and not feel overstuffed.Scallops perfctly seared or pasta with rabbit ragu- delight for all the senses. And save room for dessert- the most heavenly tiramisu.

I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :)

Food: Excellent! If you are looking for authentic Haute Italian, this is it. I really enjoyed their Uovo in Ravioli.
Drinks: Excellent wine list! Which is on an ipad!
Space: Sleek, modern design makes you feel like you are in a lounge more than a restaurant. Beautiful space, open layout, and romantic. This is a family owned business (father & daughter: Tony & Marissa May) and despite the modern layout, you are treated like you are in their family dining room. The lounge area is sleek and sexy making it a cool place to hang after-work or while you are waiting for your reservation.
Scene: Date night. Romantic. Trendy. Singles scene.
Crowd: Mostly locals, professionals, families, and retirees.
Service: Excellent. Marissa will come over to you to make sure that your experience is satisfactory.

Delicious Passiflora cocktail, chosen off the ipad menu via reco of the barman. We were greeted by the lovely and so gracious Marisa May. I was in awe at the space alone and managed to instagram a quick pic of the Susie Hicks installation. It says something when you wake up the next morning wanting the dish you had last night for breakfast! Oh boy, the Uovo raviolo was simply perfection.

Went here last night for an event and the space and food was amazing. Try the uovo ravioli and you won't be disappointed. This will be one of my go to places for after work and then for client meetings. So excited that I found out about it.

Amazing service in the WineBar and Lounge area! The food is quite discounted as well and comes in smaller portions. Perfect place for a night out to catch up with a girlfriend, share some great food, and have a beer or glass of wine. The bartender was the most adorable older italian man full of smiles and exquisite manners.

If they hand you their pizza menu, go prosciutto! The lasagna bolegnese was also very good, and cheesy. I would recommend skipping the chicken lollipops I didn't find much flavor in the dish.

I will definitely be returning!

Went out to SD26 for the first time this past weekend for my birthday. Was originally going to go to Eataly (never been either), but realized it was just a big tourist destination. SD26 was much more my style.

It's seemed super trendy in my opinion with a modern restaurant/bar scene feel. My date and I ate dinner in the lunge areas since the dining room was full. We start off with a nice cocktail and ordered our main entrees. Drinks were awesome and made strong (the way I like it). I ordered the sauteed veal dish and even though the portions were small for the meal it was delish. Part of me was like am I really paying this much money for this little food. Then I realize it is flatiron and it's a bit of a higher end restaurant.

Our server was awesome. Super friendly and even gave us complementary appetizers, desert, and wine. Overall I loved the atmosphere and would definitely go back to this place, especially for a nice cocktail. Would be keen to try out the dining room next time.

After San Domenico closed the path was steeply downhill. I still remember their signature raviolo filled with a raw egg, you couldn't find such a treasure anywhere in the area. But then, with the new management, I felt like the tastes, the warmth and the attention to details was lost. Everything too too cold.

What an excellent and divine place! I've never been to a more sincerely, warm and hospitable place where every aspect is considered. Tony and Marisa May are a powerhouse father and daughter team who make you feel you are part of the family. The food is delicious. I love everything and think the wine list is one of the most sophisticated. I hope the world can discover the magic of SD26.
