Beautiful hotel, amazing location. You feel like you stepping back into another lifetime. So many trails to hike.
We were lucky to pull in to the resort after an early November snow. The view of the resort with Mount Washington in the background was awesome. From our first step into the lobby to our departure everything was fantastic. If you are looking for a great getaway this is the place.
Wonderfully restored historic hotel that will take you back in time. There are some signs of wear, which add to the charm. The staff is extremely friendly and not one person failed to interact with me, even though they were just passing by.
We go to the golf driving range. A bear came to visit and sat down for 25 minutes right in the middle of the range about 150 yards out.
We loved this grand old hotel! It's been beautifully restored and is quite comfortable. Some rooms are small and feel a bit cramped, but they are beautifully appointed with all the conveniences you need. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our favorite restaurant is Stickney's, but all are very good. Clearly this hotel aim's to provide you with a high quality, relaxing vacation experience....and it does!
It is an amazing place, so full of history. The whole experience just brings out the peace of nature and the wonder of the mountain climbing railroad that was the first of its kind. Amazing !!!!
The room was beautiful, the skiing was nice, and the dining and amenities were as best as they come. We will be going back again soon!
An historic architectural masterpiece. A spectacular vista. Morning coffee overlooking the Cog Railway ascending Mt. Washington is about as good as it gets. I only would have hoped more of my fellow guests had chosen other than their favorite T-Shirt for attire. Perhaps I'm showing my age....
You can't beat a 3 day conference held at the Mount Washington Hotel. The hotel is beautiful, the staff friendly, and the setting spectacular. I would highly recommend a stay for work or pleasure.
Great wedding venu! I'm a wedding photographer and I love shooting there.
Gorgeous hotel, well maintained, friendly staff. So glad they keep the charm here. Find are small but the beds are extremely comfortable. Staff guys out of there way to accommodate. Live the gas fire pits. Food is also good. Nice walking trails on property and golf course.
Lovely place to visit even if not staying. We visited in April but lovely take away coffee shop was closed which was a pity.
We have not been back to the Mt Washington since Omni took over. We love the hotel before under local ownership even though the physical plant needed work. Omni doubled the price but did not improve the overall experience. In fact the food is now mediocre. The golf course is just mediocre. (not worth playing). The food is just average. It feels like a convention center venue. Many more young children. We will not return for our next anniversary celebration.
Breathtaking! The view is spectacular. Take into consideration the age of the hotel, the history behind it, makes your stay more enjoyable.
I have stayed at several 4 and 5 diamond hotels across the US, from the Plaza in NYC to The Bar Harbor Inn you name it. This place is an impressive place and is an unbelievable spectacle in the Mount Washington/Bretton Woods area. It is gigantic and the grounds are magnificent. The place looks like an older hotel taken over by Omni and is one of the largest resorts I have stayed in. If you are coming up here for Golf, you won't be sorry since this place sits on a top notch golf course. For winter activities I bet this place is great, and there is a shuttle to get you to nearby ski areas and all sorts of other places in the Mt Washington Resort area.
If you want luxury, this is the place since it caters to guests that want a luxury hotel even if you are up in the mountains. The staff here was okay, a few needed lessons in Customer Service and I would say Omin needs to work on that. The main complaint I have with this place is the rooms. For the price this place demands, and we are talking on busy weekends serious prices, the rooms are outdated, old and small. We stayed in a family suite which was nothing more than two bedrooms and a tiny family room/hallway. The walls and furniture look dated and even the hallways have old carpet and doors. Some could call this charm and might like it, but a cramped outdated room you are paying the price of a Executive Suite at the Ritz is not appealing and the place needs updating.
The cool part about this place, it has everything you need in one spot. 4 restaurants, a bakery, 3 stores, an arcade for the kids plus a kids activity center and indoor and outdoor pools. Everyday there are activities on the property for everyone including sports, games and outdoor firepits and movies. For the $26 daily resort fee, you get a lot. I would recommend this place and I would come back here on the off season, but not sure I would stay in a suite. As for local area hotels better than this place, besides the Mountain View Grand nearby, there are not many options as luxurious as this.
Beautiful! My great-grandmother worked there in the thirties, which is a cool connection. It's worth checking out. Do the history tour, too. Very nice.
We had such an amazing time at Bretton Woods Stables. They were easy to find and the staff were warm and friendly. We were able to easily sign up and pay over the phone beforehand, which was very convenient. Upon arrival, the staff immediately greeted us and assisted with picking out our riding helmets before showing us the stables. They introduced us to the horses, which were all wonderful and very friendly. The ride itself was peacefully scenic with just enough variety to keep things exciting for us as beginners. The horses behaved flawlessly and hardly needed any instructions at all. I would absolutely recommend Bretton Woods to anyone looking for a nice memorable experience regardless of their skill level or familiarity with horses. I had given this activity to my girlfriend as a birthday gift this Summer, and we could not be more pleased with how it turned out. We will definitely be coming back in near future.
A grand hotel, indeed, exuding historical ambiance.
We did noticed some more wear and tear on the main floor this year, and the jack hammer pounding from the underserviced radiators interrupted our sleep over several nights. We did notice the reupholstered furniture in the lobby- which looked and felt good.
Quality of service varied. Stickneys was excellent. Housekeeping was efficient and timely. Room service was prompt, but the soup was cool, and they forgot bread. The Morsels staff was friendly but lacked training, so were extra slow, contributing to lines.
The Thanksgiving buffet was very nice, but table staff were slow to clear plates and check in for drinks, which wasn't horrible, but when a 20% service gratuity is already in the bill, it irks a little.
Young music students provided classical music during the meal and were followed by a local pianist who played an amazing (and appreciated) string of seasonal tunes.
The spa maintained its high standards (and prices). The workout room has a nice array of equipment, but was overwhelmed by the large holiday crowd (timing is everything).
Nit: Water dispenser was broken.
Hotel tour was exceptional this time around. It will vary by the experience of the guide, but we were lucky on ours and got Ruth, whose deep knowledge and friendly style provided more depth and context than usual.
As much as we love this hotel, the 3 stars reflect several service issues, including a bad initial room assignment (which was corrected the next day, but took extra effort). When paying such high rates, better overall service is expected.
What an amazing and beautiful place. Kept just like it was so long ago. Friendly and history wise staff. We where granted by amazing people. Although we didn t stay at the hotel yet we will definitely come back !
A really beautiful spot to take pictures of the Omni Mount Washington hotel and the range. I've seen it so many times and boy, it just never gets old. It's stunning every time.
One of a kind breathe taking view. Great family get away.
Beautiful views of the mountains and golf course excellent food what a place
Excellent place to spend my Birthday. Everything was perfect!
Beautiful property with amazing views. Friendly staff, great amenities, we've been here a handful of times and are never disappointed.
Absolutely beautiful building with a fantastic view of the mountains on all sides.
A historic and large mansion of a hotel greets you in the middle of the New Hampshire wilderness. Its age gives it a practiced elegance; enhancing and in no way hampering the experience.
Stopped in for drinks at the bar, beautiful view with a tasty drink to go with!
A unique, one of a kind property. A "must do" kinda place. If you're the type that wants to do it all, put it on your list.
Gorgeous hotel. Staff was excellent. Room was small but comfy. Cleanliness is a factor, both in room and outside. It is almost as if the place is understaffed. Word of warning; DO NOT eat at Stickney's. Extremely overpriced and awful food. Service was ok, but slow. Server was host/hostess were very friendly.
Beautiful resort. Heated indoor and outdoor pools. Looks fascinating driving up. The rooms are pretty simple.
A nice hotel with good skiing and winter activities.
Our family spent a long weekend here with 2 children (under age 12). The resort offers absolutely spectacular views in a picturesque setting. The activities were plentiful although we spent much of our time off property at Mount Washington.
We have stayed at several other Omni Resort properties, and found this to be not quite as nice. It s very similar to The Homestead in Virginia, but on a smaller scale. We happened to visit during a heat wave in New Hampshire (temps in the mid/upper 80s). The lack of air conditioning in the main lobby and restaurants is a challenge and can be distracting. They had to leave doors open for ventilation which allowed for flies to join us for our meal. Fortunately there is air conditioning in the guest rooms, however.
We loved the downstairs area, and it appears to be slight more modern. The Cave is super cool (literally and figuratively). But again, lack of air conditioning in some of the areas was a challenge. The kids played arcade games for a few minutes but the heat proved too much.
Overall, a 4 Star experience. The Omni recently purchased this property and its time to put some money into the resort. Would love to see an upgraded outdoor pool as well (this one was just a step up from a highway hotel).
The resort is absolutely gorgeous and the service superb. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Our room was very comfortable and provided everything we needed.
Incredible views and grounds. One of the nicest golf courses I have played in New England. Rooms are small and dated. Dining options are limited and no real relaxed/lower fare options. Strongly recommend making dining reservations before arriving. Beautiful balcony for viewing the areas, however seats go fast. Overall nice place to stay but when considering the pricing maybe a better place to just visit but the golf definitely worth it.
Always love coming to the Mount Washington resort, the staff are top notch, the building has such historical and architectural presence and the views are to die for. If you can spend the money to stay a night here, Do it! You won t regret it.
Loved the location and history, but felt hotel is overpriced based on our experience.
I'd stay again and again! It is always delightful!
You don t stay at this resort and expect it to be inexpensive but some basic things we re not included. It s an old building and it shows it. Internet service, that you pay a resort fee for was very bad and no in room fridge.
True, Old School New England Elegance. Expensive but something you should do at least once in your life. The staff is fantastic, and the property is breathtaking.
Lovely hotel with lots of charm though expensive accommodations and food costs. Service and staff were kind and thoughtful. They had lots of recommendations.
Parking is a problem If you are there for just a meal. Service was slow. Otherwise, an absolutely amazing view of the valley.
The hotel is huge and a feast for the eyes in the middle of nature. The clientele is a bit older.
The Mt. Washington Hotel is still welcoming guest in old school luxury with amazing food, drinks and service. The views of Mt. Washington at 6,288 ft above the hotel are spectacular. Every visitor to NH's White Mountains should stay here at least once.
This is a great property located in a beautiful spot in New Hampshire. Friendly staff, wonderful amenities, good dining options, and plenty of activities year round to keep everyone active. The history and heritage of the hotel make it an extra special spot to stay for history buffs as well.
Spectacular old world hotel. Incredible views of My Washington. All the amenities of a world class hotel. Hiking, skiing and golf on site.
The staff at Mt Washington hotel and Bretton Woods made the whole trip amazing
One of the great places in all of New England. Especially at Christmas time.
My husband, two children (boys ages 4 and 7) stayed the week of July 22. My husband and I had stayed over Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend back in 2008 and wanted to experience the hotel in the summer. It did not disappoint!
Our room was spacious enough but had a terrible view. We did not mind though because we got the AAA member discount rate and did not go to the Mt. Washington to spend time in our room! It was very clean and comfortable. The housekeeping service did an excellent job.
The food was incredible in the Main dining room and wonderful at Stickney s but it was not good at the Rosebrook Room Bar (although the views were priceless sitting on the backside veranda). The food and drinks are not cheap. We rented a small fridge for our room to keep breakfast/lunch/cocktail items to save a skittle cash. Also, the hotel store, Morsel s, can sometimes take awhile to be restocked with items due to the fact the hotel is remotely located in the Presidential Mountain Range. There is also a store at the base of the ski lift area and s more kits (which I highly recommended!) there are less expensive than at Morsels.
The activities... wow!! I definitely recommend getting a Summer Activity Day Pass at least one day and I also recommend paying the extra $30 for Kids Go Karts if you have kids. The amount of money the day pass saves you is phenomenal. We rode the chair lift multiple times, shot at the archery range, did the indoor climbing wall and the kids go karts. Latitude 44, the restaurant at the top of the chair lift, has great food, drinks and a very friendly staff. We hiked all over where my husband and I skied 10 years ago and that was really fun. The views again are priceless. There are 2 pools at the resort and a hot tub next to the indoor pool. There is an arcade, a kids club where you can drop your kids off (for a few) and even a laundromat to do laundry. We also rode horses at there are stables located on the property. My kids did Barn Buddies and my husband and I did a trail ride. Luke and Meredith were wonderful with our kids! I also recommend the spa. I spent and afternoon there and it too was heaven! Peaceful and lavender scented.
Bottom line, if you want a relaxing vacation or an adventure vacation the Omni Mt. Washington Hotel is the place to go! My kids are already asking to go back this fall!
The history and scenery is the best part about this place. Friendly staff, only thing lacking is the food.
Our company has an annual event here, the food is okay. They have lots of space, it lavish but old looking as well.
Top notch hotel beautifully landscaped property everything is neat and clean. Spectacular mountain views.
Beautiful, beautiful view! The resort has a lot of history and a great restaurant! The staff is friendly and the location is near lots of hiking places. Rooms are ok and we will stay there again.
The food was just fantastic and truly amazing staff. We had to have desert. So good after a day outside
Definitely got an eery feeling from this place but it is also known to be haunted, Its so beautiful and vintage feeling too
I ll start by saying we did not actually stay at the hotel. We love old hotels and were passing by so we stopped in to see if we wanted to stay a few nights at the end of our current trip. Beautiful from the outside with breathtaking views, but just ok on the inside. You can definitely see the history inside, but for $600 a night (on the low side,) we expected something better. We ve stayed at The Greenbrier in White Sulpher Springs WV, and everything about that hotel is breathtaking. (It s also over 250 years old!) The ballrooms, the service, the floor, the staff, all of the random rooms, the hot chocolate made from scratch, shopping strip, ice skating rink, the cabins, literally everything was 10 stars and half the price of the Omni Mt. Washington. There s not much to do in WV, but we didn t even feel the need to leave the hotel. Oh yea, they also have a casino.
Now, back to Omni... not much of anything was open. Ok I get it... but there s a pandemic, right? They sure will charge you normal prices as if there s no pandemic, but you don t get the normalcy of anything else to go with it.
You can t even sit in the lobby. The lobby is closed. Which, I wouldn t want to sit there anyway. While I get the old look is part of the hotel, the 4 green chairs in front of the fire have what look like grease spots from peoples head on the head rest part. It was gross. Maybe it s just wear and tear, I m not really sure since it was sectioned off, but it just looked gross. Maybe I m being too hard. My son thought it was cool, but he also doesn t pay the bills and for the money, there s so many better places to stay.
Amazing property. Beautifully maintained. Lovely staff
Best way to reward yourself after a weekend of hiking the 4k footers. Will be back.
1) Room service food was inedible. I'm vegetarian (and told the conseirge this ahead of our visit) yet breakfast came so reaking of animal fat I gagged and placed the entire tray untouched outside of my room.
2) We arrived and were placed on a traditional room though we had booked and paid for a deluxe room. After some time waiting we were finally offered an upgrade to a "luxury room" which normally runs just under $700
A night. Despite this being billed as one of the nicest rooms the hotel has to offer, amenities were identical to those found in our orginal sub tier room ... The touches just Felt pretty basic, not what you'd expect for a room costing well over half a grand a night! Just left me feeling a little cheated when compared to other experiences I've had in my life in comparable rooms.
AND:
3) the thermostat didn't work in the living area and was very, very chilly. The entire hotel was freezing in fact. I found numerous heaters cold to the touch throughout the hotel and saw guests everywhere vying for a chance to warm up next to the public fire places, leaving coats on inside.
4) Worth noting...a single mixed drink (ie a Margarita) costs $27 and up! !!
5) Our package included a private concierge experience whom we emailed numerous times before arrival. One of the features we voiced looking forward to was the outdoor pool and hot tub. We went out of our way to schedule our dinner with her at I time she expressed would allow us an outdoor swim after dinner. Yet, we arrived to find the pool not open and I was very disappointed in the hotels neglect to inform us of this loss ahead of time nor did they apologise for the disappointment to our evening plans.
So, while this hotel is beautiful and holds a timeless charm I felt it had an air of struggling about it, something about it left me feeling like they were cutting corners and we were not getting their best.
We liked it enough that we may try it again, just in case we were there in an off night....but certainly in the summer time so we are more comfortable.
Beautiful place, great food. Love to get lunch and sit outside. Get gourmet food at lunch prices & look upon the white mountains
