Not bad. The staff is nice. There's a coffee bar in the main lobby. Our original room was tiny and a bit old looking. It was ok. I made a request for a better room and they honored it. Our second room was much nicer, and I appreciated their willingness to work with me. However, the room's floor to ceiling window faced a busy street, and you know what goes on in New Orleans at all hours. Other little things, like no trash can in the room made for minor inconveniences. Overall, it was a nice enough place. Would I stay here again? Yes, because the staff was so nice, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Wood floors look nice but aren't the best at dampening sound, fyi. Could barely sleep some nights. Overall hotel is very nice though. Bar and food were superb, doorman excellent with directions and speediness.

Stayed at the Ambassador Hotel the weekend we helped with a Habitat for Humanity home. It's pure New Orleans and loved our stay. Was a little annoyed with a lazy valet attendant, but the rest of the staff were very pleasant.

Terrible service. Rooms are loud and creaky and you can hear everything going on in your neighbors room. Staff didn t really care and wasn t friendly. Based on what you pay to stay here, I wouldn t recommend. Don t go to the bar on a Friday night because they only had one bartender and was way understaffed. I never give bad reviews, but this was the one time I felt it necessary because of the bad experience. I m sorry, but I would never stay here again.

Very unique hotel, great location, dog friendly felt very safe and the staff were all excellent. Would travel to New orleans just to stay longer in this hotel. Rooms were very large with lots of charm and well thought out design. We have recommended it to all our family and friends. Loved it!

It's expensive but your bang in the middle of town and can walk most places. Streetcar stop nearby with access to French man's St and shopping. Parking was $32 per night which is a bit saucey but that's the going rate seemingly.

We are still staying here. The room is lovely. It s clean, contemporary and artsy. The beds are really comfortable and the pillows are great. We have a king deluxe and have a window, although could see there not being a problem if we hadn t. We ordered breakfast from tout la, which is affiliated with the restaurant and in the hotel. I was a little disappointed that a hotel with so much style presented our breakfast in plastic take out containers. Compere Lapin is an upscale eatery and the presentation should match. The hotel also offers a don t get your room cleaned if you don t want to, as a go green initiative, so go with the real China next time.

I write as I stay. Everything else has been fantastic. The staff are lovely and helpful. I ll be updating.

This is my favorite place to stay in New Orleans! Phenominal staff that treat you exceptionally well! Fantastic rooms with very comfy beds and eclectic art and furnishings! And then they have their restaurant and bar Compere Lapin to boot! Another favorite of mine for both the food and the cocktails

See the secret to this place is to ask for one of the small rooms with no windows... The Old No 77 has some quaint little rooms for $70 a night! I love hotels with character and this place definitely did the trick. Thank God I took the train in because parking seemed to be a nightmare. I try to travel... not cheap, but I am thrifty.

Dope spot and quaint. Perfectly located there is plenty to do within walking distance. Nice view of the Blvd from the bar restaurant keeps the energy flowing and vibe just right in the mecca of The Boot

Very cool hotel. Loved the decor and set up. Location is within easy walking distance to the French Quarter. Lots of good and bars nearby. Would highly recommend this hotel. Just like every other hotel in the area, be prepared to pay ~$40 in parking a night.

The location is great. However, the bathroom was a little dirty. The walls are paper thin. Couple next door was super loud all night and the next morning she was sick and you could hear her vomiting for 30 minutes. The doorman was friendly

The hotel has a vintage feel, so it lacks modern amenities such as a pool, or lounge area. It does have a restaurant and cafe in the lobby that has a great rating but due to the menu items being pricey we dined at other local eateries.

Seriously the coolest hotel! Its unique and gives you a new experience when staying in a hotel. They offer some local items in the room as well. Its a short walk to a lot of local places too.

Only about a 10 min walk from the French Quarter, this place is super modern with a bit of a retro feel. I got a room without a window (slightly cheaper) and it is a bit disorienting in the mornings, but I wasn't in nola to worry about the view from my room. The staff was super friendly and I love their go green program for room cleaning.

It's a cute place. It's located a few blocks off of Canal Street. It's got a cool vibe and updated charm. But that being said, our room faced a very loud bar. On both Friday and Saturday night the music was incredibly loud. On Saturday night it was so loud that the front desk had to call the police. They did give us a small credit for the inconvenience. It was frustrating enough that I can't give more than 3 stars. The food at the restaurant in the hotel was rather upscale and expensive. We didn't eat there at all. If that's your thing, we were told by many it's one of the best. We felt safe walking back and forth to the French Quarter. We would stay there again, just on the other side of the hotel.

During Mardi Gras it is not too far from the parade route so this was very convenient. The rooms were spacious but the lighting in the bathroom was a little less then we would have liked but that's nothing big. The room was cleaned regularly and the service was great,

This is a nice boutique hotel in the heart of the action. Rooms are nothing special but if you are looking for peace and quite you will find it here. But if you want windows in your room you are going to have to look elsewhere!

Jean Paul Sumas was very helpful. Kizzy was an excellent housekeeper. She was always available.

The room was clean and large. The only thing I did not like was the bathroom did not have a double sink. The room was a queen room but the bathroom was small. The tv did not have ant movie channels. There was not a guide on any channel.

Went to Compere Lapin, the restaurant that's connected to The Old No. 77 Hotel, and there's nothing bad I can say about the food or services. The servers are all equally polite and wonderfully nice. The foods were TO-DIE-FOR! We had dinner, More

By far the worst hotel in New Orleans. Our room was dark and creepy- nothing screamed "relaxation", instead we got whispers of "your stuff might not be here when you get back." and "you may take a few things home with you". The room was noticeably damp, our clothes were always a little moist before we put them on. Also, there are NO WINDOWS in the ENTIRE hotel. The pictures you see are of two special rooms that sit off the street. - Everything else has weirdly tainted wall paper, dark corners filled with stuck on dirt, and the dingy-est lamps you've probably ever see.

Amazing

The updates they have done to the hotel/restaurant have really brought the place up to an upper class establishment. With the 40/50s feel they have added to i don't see how we will ever stay anywhere else. The staff makes you feel at home with the many personal touches they provide. The location is right across the parking lot from Harrahs but you feel worlds away with the privacy and class the 77 provides.

Pretty nice place, great if you're Sri king or here for Mardi Gras. Be warned, it's position does make it very difficult to get into or out of during parades, so plan accordingly.

Rooms are small but unique, hot showers. Other patrons can be heard through the walls and floors, but it didn't keep us up. Mini bar is reasonably priced, big TV in our queen suite. Not much of a view from our room, but may have a better one if you request it. Staff seemed friendly, even when a misunderstanding caused me to be a bit of a jerk.

It's a bit small for the price, but with the central location and especially during Carnival, it's very nice. Parking is the only big issue; we paid $40 for 12 hours of parking

We loved everything about the hotel and were sad to leave it. It had a great vibe right when you walked in. The decor was great, staff was very nice and the rooms were excellent with very comfortable beds.

I came on vacation to relax and I stayed at a supposedly nice hotel so that my room would be cleaned in thoroughly and in a timely manner, because I have a child with allergies to think of. However, it was the third day of my visit and I returned to my room after 5 pm and the room had yet to be cleaned. When I complained they sent someone, and all they appeared to have accomplished while I sat for an hour waiting, was just make the bead and fold the towels that my daughter had to get, because we ran out before. On the fifth day of our stay in the hotel, the maid service came by at 3:30 to clean and when I asked for them to give me 10 minutes to vacate the room, they agreed. And my family proceeded to have dinner for an hour and a half to once again find that the rooms had yet to be cleaned. Even after they said that they would come back in 10 minutes or at the very least after they did the next room. Once again I found myself complaining to the front desk that my room hadn't been cleaned and was told "the cleaning staff would be back up and have my room cleaned"; I presumed that meant that if I waited in the lobby for 40 minutes that my room would be clean. But when I went back to my room it had still not been cleaned and I had to return and talk to the front desk. I was given the excuse that they were on a schedule and that I had to be fit back in, even though I was on that schedule before. So I decided to get a massage and calm down, so I had a 30 minute massage and walled the ten minutes both ways to return to my room still not clean. And its getting to be 7 pm when anyone would expect for their rooms to be clean. And don't expect the hotel to even offer you a complementary cup of coffee and this is supposedly a 4 star hotel. So don't bother staying you can get a room cheaper at motel 6 and they'll have your room clean on time.

For the price of the hotel we are very happy with our experience! The atmosphere was young and fun, the beds were comfortable, staff was friendly, and we had all of the amenities we needed. If I'm being picky, the room was not 100% clean upon arrival, but they fixed that after we called down so maybe it was a fluke. There was also a weird incident with the cafe downstairs-- It's very expensive down there ($17 for two coffees and two bagels) but my husband and I were in a rush and so we got coffee and bagels. I waited for about 10 minutes for my bagel and repeatedly asked them to check on it and they weren't able to give me a good reason why it took so long. They kept saying "The kitchen is working on it"-- which is strange considering I didn't even want it toasted. The staff was not apologetic about the delay either. Other than this weird bagel incident, which was the cafe, not really the hotel, everything was great!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! I have been to New Orleans many times, and I have never been treated so poorly in my life. I was in New Orleans for a black tie wedding that I was a bridesmaid in and the bride , who is from New Orleans, had recommended this hotel. I have stayed at The Ritz-Carlton and The Royal Sonesta before, and I wanted to stay somewhere different. When I tried to check in, the woman at the front desk was extremely rude and disrespectful. She even began complaining about me to a coworker right in front of me!!! It was appalling!! Then when I got to my room, it was not clean. The floor was filthy. It looked like it hadn't been swept or mopped in over a week. I was gone all day on Saturday for the wedding (I left my room at 11 am) and had the sign on the doorknob requesting maid service and when I got back to my room late Saturday night, it had not been cleaned. I checked out a day early to go stay somewhere else even though I couldn't get a refund. I will never stay here again!! Worst customer service I've ever had. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Would not recommend staying here. Stayed here and went to get in my room after the second night and someone was in my room. Had to wait 3 hours for it to get worked out. Was a complete hassle. Thought I was being scammed. Management did absolutely nothing to make it right.

Big mistake to stay at this hotel. The hotel was a disappointment. The room and restaurant were nice. Unfortunately the room service an reception was utterly disappointing and at times offensive and disrespectful. After leaving at 11am to go around the town, we came back to quickly change to go for a romantic diner. To our surprise, the room was still unmade and the hotel staff blamed it on us saying we left a tag on the door for no room service. We had no tag in the room because we had given it to our nephew, therefore the staff was lying. After calling 4 times to talk to the front desk and getting no one on the line, my husband went downstairs to the lobby desk were the woman there was beyond rude and told us to leave and go to the ritz if that was the level of service we are acostumed to. My husbad was beyond surprised, offended and insulted; he had explained that he is traveling with a pregnant wife (7months) and a 2 year old and came to a dirty room at 6pm in the evening. Asking for a clean room should be embarassing for the hotel but instead of receiving an apology for the dirty room, she sent him to the ritz in a condesending voice!

This is cool & trendy hotel in the warehouse district. We had a first floor room that had a window adjacent to the wall of another building, so it was pretty dark. Otherwise, it was a nice room.

This was a beautiful hotel within the warehouse and arts district. Our visit was during the white linen arts festival and it was wonderful. We did not stay at this hotel but the other half of our party did.We were 500ft down the road at the Renaissance. This visit was the first week in August and I believe we will continue to visit on this week.During the festival they raise money.Local artist showcase there talents and art throughout the city. This hotel was very nice and the employees were very nice and hospitable. There's a bar and restaurant in the lobby. I didn't eat but they did have a extensive list of bourbons .

We stayed here during Mardi Gras. The hotel is lovely, it has a different feel to it compared to a standard soulless chain. Our room was a good size, comfy bed, painted brick, high ceilings, a dressing area, and a decent size ensuite bathroom. Although the window was small with very little natural light, it wasn't a problem. It is a converted warehouse after all! They offer different levels of cleaning service, which suited us perfectly, and an extra blanket was no trouble when I asked: they dropped it off to the room while we were out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The fitness suite is basic but serviceable. There is a small arts and crafts shop in the lobby and even an art vending machine. There is also a coffee counter which serves breakfast until 10am. The coffee is good, the English breakfast tea isn't the best I've had though. But their cheese pastries? Lush! The restaurant and bar get very busy but there is an undeniable buzz about the place. It's a great location to explore the city, you're not far from anywhere, especially some great bars and restaurants. Speaking of which, the massive lit up sign outside is the perfect advertisement for the hotel should you have overindulged somewhere and need to find your way back. Highly recommended.

Loved the rustic style rooms and the Homestyle feeling of the staff and rooms. This is New Orleans at it's finest for the simple but elegant excellence hotel venues. From the valet to the V.I.P., I was treated like family, not a customer.

This hotel was reffered to us by a friend that had recently stayed there before on a trip to New Orleans... The best part as all hotels in New Orleans was it a walking distance from everything! It wasn't cozy or spacious. It was more like a $60 room but we paid $120 a night and was there during the week... we didn't spend alot of time in our room... no fridge or microwave and the shower smelt like mold. It wasn't what we paid for!! Will definetly book a different place next time. Myiesha did save me some $ on a lunch tho. The staff was curtious and friendly. Can't wait to visit New Orleans again!! We had a blast!!

The Hotel has been a real pleasure. Knowledgeable staff, an amazing kitchen and tremendous bar makes Old No. 77 a real winner. Walking distance to the French Quarter and waterway delights. We definitely will be back.

If I could give this place a negative 0, I would. Horrible. I could never recommend a place that does not welcome people having a good time celebrating life which is what New Orleans is all about especially after how much it costs to stay at this prestige hotel Not only is Katherine, a racist, she is a liar and maniacal sociopath who created lies due to her hatred for people of color. I would never play the race card, we were first asked to lower music that was already being played at a low tone.. which we did, and then we are called again for talking too loud at 12-1 am or so. I guess it s okay to have loud and obnoxious sex in a hotel, but not us talking. I was very respectful about I spoke to her let her know I had some family coming up for drinks before we we downtown, told her we were headed out and she called the police on us. I could see the disgust in her eyes as I looked into hers and asked her why did she call the police and lie on my family and I, saying that we were threatening the guests of the hotel and knocking on doors. She could barely look me in the eye knowing she had fabricated stories to get us escorted out of the hotel and put into jail by police officers who used excessive force due to being under the impression we were being violent.. I would never stoop as low as to defame someone s character, but this lady is truly rotten on the inside and the out. I would not recommend anyone of color staying here. You may be next. When will the hate stop?

Loved!

worst hotel experience of my life!
Stayed here our honey moon night (we were cruising out of New Orleans the next day. We had a water leak in our room. They never apologized and simply moved us to a smaller room.We booked a "suite" and payed $350 for it, only to stay in a small room in the middle of the hotel with no windows and a glass door. We had no sleep and no privacy. NEVER NEVER again!!!

I would give Old No. 77 a solid 4.5 stars.

I would give Old No. 77 a solid 4.5 stars.

+ Great location
+ Super dog friendly
+ 2 blocks from green space; Lafayette Square
+ Valet Parking
+ Decent Pricing
+ Convenient Cafe ( & restaurant/bar) in lobby
+ Gallery like feel throughout main floor
+ Great staff. I swear every employee says hello with a smile.
+ If you re not on the first floor / facing Lafayette St on a Friday - Saturday it is quiet.
- Towels need upgraded - you d expect better quality with the attention to so many other details.
- Due to the vintage charm you can hear neighbors and staff closing doors and walking down hallways.

Stayed here twice already, and will likely continue doing so in the future.

We LOVE this hotel. Thanks to a friend we stayed here a few years ago for the 1st time and we have been staying here ever since. It's walkable to the French Quarter, streetcars, warehouse district and the Casino . There's a great restaurant in the hotel, but a great place for breakfast, Mother's, is right up on the corner. Some of the rooms are smaller, but this stay we have a spacious one. The place has a great vibe! It starts as a wonderful experience from the start, the doorman greating you, super helpful front desk staff, an inviting custom scent, and the rooms are clean and cozy. Modern artsy embracing industrial is how I would describe the decore. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to NOLA.

The charm of this place was amazing. The rooms were nice and set up to fit the New Orleans style area. Loved the men and women's packets set up in the room. Bar drinks inside of the Mini fridge were reasonably priced. Staff was knowledgeable was helpful. The VALET workers are the ones that will have me coming back to this hotel again. They were very knowledgeable, offered the old style customer service, and kind. They set the tone for the rest of the staff!

Location was pretty nice, walking distance to most attractions, if you don't pick an upgraded room you will not have any windows. Friendly staff, decent coffee but you pay 2.50 per 12 Oz cup. Starbucks around the corner.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a long week and we loved it. Great interior, awesome room and the locale was perfect. I will definitely stay here again in future trips to the big easy.

I am absolutely so upset with this hotel.

I am absolutely so upset with this hotel.

I called to cancel my reservation well before my stay, because I couldn t get the time off work on the specific day of booked. They didn t process it properly, so I was charged.

They agreed to refund.

I woke up to another charge which they reversed immediately. They have not reversed the original charge.

I won t really consider staying here again.
