The hotel was wonderful. The vibe was way cooler than I could have imagined. The bar was one of my favorites in all of NOLA. If I have a complaint, it is only one. I wish they had coffee in the room. Paying $3 a cup downstairs isn't my favorite thing. But that said, I absolutely loved the place and recommend it to everyone.

The place feels like a New Orleans hotel should. Would recommend over any corporate hotel in town. The location is very convenient to many local restaurants and bars also walking distance to the World War II museum.

The hotel is an old warehouse so it feels a little like a labyrinth. Other than a long line to check in, service has been very nice and feels very relaxed. Good location across from the game bar barcadia. Beautiful room

Booked this hotel after a cruise. I was a little skeptical at first because no one I know had ever heard of this hotel. Then we got there and it was amazing. This hotel was so awesome! They had a room available at 8:30am so they let us check in super early. I was very impressed with the charm of the exposed brick walls and the rainfall shower head. Such an excellent room! You must stay here! It's a very romantic place to stay for a weekend trip.

The hotel is very nice and well located. It is walking distance from the french quarter and close to Bourbon Street. The rooms are tidy and nice, nothing fancy. Free wifi and a very reasonable price. There is a great bar inside the hotel.

Where do I begin? It is almost like a fraud that a hotel so old and small can be rated as a four star hotel. The hallway smells disgusting, elevator makes the most unpleasant noise and there's absolutely no soundproof for the rooms, we could clearly hear everything going on outside. But these are not even the deal breaker for me, it is the service! People here are not trained to provide good service. Bedroom phone was ringing several times this morning when we did not request wake up call, a man knocked on our door and insist to take towels when I said we would be out in 10min and if he could come back later. What's more, I just discovered my cleanser got thrown away by the house keeper, I mean can't she tell that's personal item???? This hotel totally messed up our experience here in New Orleans.

Great hotel loved the old world industrial style and yet totally funky and updated. Rooms clean, comfortable and showers had good water pressure and hot water all the time. Every staff member we met anywhere in the hotel were super friendly and accommodating. Location is perfect when you walk out the doors to the left is a short walk to French Quarter and streetcars. To the right you are in the Art district with some great restuarants

I booked a room with this hotel for December as a Christmas present for my daughters and I. I called this morning for a confirmation email, since none was sent to verify the reservation, and was left on hold for over an hour. If this is the type of service I receive BEFORE I check in no thank you. I am a manager at a very historic hotel front desk and I would never leave a caller on hold for over an hour. If you are too busy to answer the calls then offer to take a message and call back. That shows care and good customer service.

Pretty nice, great old town feel to it.

I asked for a room with a window and I got a window that faces the inside of a brick wall with nothing else in sight. It's kind of a joke, and they're unapologetic about it. Amenities in the room are sparse.

If you're looking for ambiance and not much more, this is for you.

The absolute worst! There's a definite reason its so cheap. DO NOT DO IT! I booked this place for my father and brother during their weekend visit here. I thought it would be cool to stay in a renovated coffee warehouse, but obviously they didn't pay attention to some of the finer details. The floors were crickety, the beds were hard, the bathrooms were dirty...it just didn't work. The feel is as if you're sleeping in a condemned warehouse that someone left a few really cheap beds and called it "renovated".

Then, to make matters even worse, my father had an emergency come up and had to leave early. The staff escalated the issue to management, which was expected. Then outcomes some slick hair, cheap suit wearing, Goodfellas wannabe who asks my father what the issues have to do with him...no consideration whatsoever from mafioso owner. That wouldn't have even mattered if the place was decent and they hadn't slept on a rock the night before.

I nominate this place for the show "Hotel Nightmares"

When we first arrived, we parked in the front of the hotel to check in and see about parking... the "concierge" was SUPER rude informing us that if we were parked there for longer than 15 minutes we would be booted. We then informed him that we were just checking in, he then repeated that we would be booted. We asked him about parking we were told that the hotel offered valet, we responded that this what we would like to do, he then LAUGHS and tells us that valet is full!!
We go to the front desk and check in and ask the front desk where we should park, we are then informed we should park "where we can find a spot" After driving around for 45 minutes trying to find a parking area, we go back to the hotel and ask again. The "concierge" then tells us "y'all should have gotten here earlier then" He then proceeded to help the ladies behind me making rude remarks "y'all were the smart ones paying for valet early" Then says to us "go park at Harrah's" Ummm.... I'm not staying at Harrah's, I'm staying at THIS hotel!! We asked to speak to a manager and apparently one wasn't around, the guy at the front desk apologized and gave us different directions while the "concierge" made remarks under his breath.

After parking almost 7 blocks away, we FINALLY get to our room, which smelled like mildew BAD, had hair & dirt on the bed like someone laid on it with their shoes on. The bathroom was filthy with hair everywhere and the bath tub clearly had not been cleaned in sometime. We then inform the front desk that the room was not clean, they said someone would be up to take care of the issues. After a few hours we go back to the room....NOTHING had been resolved.

This was the WORST hotel I have EVER stayed been to. It totally ruined our short vacation.

Beautiful, well maintained hotel with the friendliest staff in town. Some of the reviews have complained of noise, and it is certainly not a quiet spot (the restaurant attached is one of the most popular in the city), but old creaky floors and noise from other guests is a small price to pay for staying in such a beautiful space. Staff went out of their way to make sure we had a great time, and the hotel is in a great location. Walkable to a number of great restaurants and museums (and the Quarter), but not right in the center of the hustle and bustle. Great hotel and lovely staff.

Rooms were fine. The problem is the parking scam they have going on with, it appears, the city. We called the day before arriving to ask about space to park our 26' moving truck. The front desk person said "No problem, we have plenty of parking!"

He did NOT say it was a parking owned by the city. So upon arrival we pulled in, parked the truck and saw a sign that gave instructions: "Text p151 to 504-504". There was a self-serve booth, but it wasn't working properly. So we used our cell phones and followed the directions, then went inside, approximately 7:40pm.

Next day we go out to leave and there's a boot on the front tire of the truck with a sign plastered on the window saying we owed an addtional fee of $120 in parking fines. I was furious that the front desk of this "hotel" did not advise us of this situation when we had called ahead to ask.

I asked to see the manager. The front desk clerk said the manager wasn't in. The hotel claimed to have no knowledge of this parking situation, however, there was another moving truck not far from us that ALSO had a boot on the front tire. I can't believe we were the first to complain about this scam.

The sign plastered on the truck window was time-stamped: 7:48pm the previous evening. The city parking employee was just waiting somewhere nearby and watched us leave the parking lot and had our truck booted within minutes. And yet the hotel doesn't know about this and how to advise their guests to park large vehicles? I don't believe it.

Their Expedia page doesn't advise about parking either. It's too bad New Orleans has become so passively hostile to their guests.

Hip hotel in a great spot. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, but the beds aren't incredible and the hardwood floors squeak loudly. You'll hear every footstep by the occupants in the room above. That said, it's a solid value, and it puts you walking distance from most of NOLA's downtown sights. Better for young professionals than families.

My wife and I loved the atmosphere and decor of the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful and we enjoyed dining at Compere Lapin.
However, the room was not clean at all, the sheets were stained, and it was obvious that routine maintenance items like changing the air conditioner filter were not being handled.

An ok hotel. Somewhat interesting decor but pretty dark and not at all charming.
Far and away the LOUDEST hotel room I ve ever stayed in. I can t attest to other rooms but absolutely don t stay in room 428 (and probably not any 4th floor room). CONSTANT loud droning noise overhead possibly the AC system on the roof. But worse yet was that literally every 15 seconds 24/7 there would be an even LOUDER surge and vibration of noise. I had to sleep with earplugs in AND use headphones playing music to drown out the noise enough to sleep.
Then you have the noise of the people coming from the elevator since literally every single person must go past room 428.
I didn t eat at the restaurant/bar but it looked ok.
No real place to get a quick bite or breakfast other than waiting in line for a pricey muffin in the morning at the front desk.
The other thing to be aware of is that they ll hit you with an extra resort fee when you check out that was not at all mentioned at any time during the booking process even tho I paid in full in advance for the lesser charge (which was still awfully expensive for the quality of room you get).
Bourbon St is about a mile away but walkable.
The outdoor flea market is maybe 1/2 away. The casino is a block away.
The Riverplace Mall is about 6 blocks away.
I d never stay at this place again all things considered.

Pros - - Cool atmosphere and great room with a very comfortable bed.

Cons - - Zero parking - - this drives me crazy! Forced to use either $$ valet or $$ public parking. TV didn't work and the ice machine was out of order.
Desk was friendly but, didn't seem to care about my request to get a working TV. Never did get it fixed (two nights) but, I wasn't in New Orleans to watch TV anyway. The ice thing was funny. I took the bucket to the bar for ice. Bartender tries to give me directions to other ice machines and ried to hand the bucket back to me instead of just turning around and giving me some ice. I point at the bucket and he gives me half a bucket of ice - - LMAO at his stunt. I think the staff had me pegged as the guy that balked at the parking situation - - so, I was the jerk to get poor service ..... I wouldn't recommend this place unless you just want a nice bed to sleep in .........

Clean and very tastefully decorated room Art Deco with a contemporary and indutrual twist... nice color combinations. Really can t complain.. staff is super friendly and helpful. The bed is super comfortable... the mattress is covered in plastic which is the only negative as the sheet slips and bundles up underneath, leaving you exposed to the plastic which is not that comfortable. But other than that, this is a great hotel!

Best food I've had all week. The dash and Willow is an amazing drink. The biscuits and bacon butter are to die for, and the goat curry was excellent. Also they have an art-o-mat in the lobby. We sat at the bar and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere of the hotel was very rustic, sort of dark. The hotel has an art gallery that I'd recommend taking a look at, as well as art throughout the building. The floors are kind of laid out in a confusing way, and the rooms are a little small, but clean. Also there were leather straps on the headboard in the room I was in?? That was a little odd, but the bed was comfortable.

This fun and funky warehouse turned hotel has interesting rooms and layout. The lobby has art everywhere and upbeat music. Upstairs the rooms were extremely quiet and well appointed. There wasn't coffee in the room, but there was booze and a little voodoo doll and snacks in case of emergency. I was really impressed with the room design. I loved how much light I got for reading in a chair on in bed. The coffee bar in the morning had a great variety and I had an excellent breakfast. I got some pralines that were the best I've ever had. Prices here were better than in French Quarter. I'd stay here again.

This was definitely one of the best experiences I've ever had at a hotel. Randy was so sweet and really hooked my cousin and I up with a great upgraded room, and even a drink when we arrived. He also got us a private tour of the French Quarter at night and it was amazing!! I definitely recommend staying here! And talk to Randy cause he's the best!!

The unique decor was overshadowed by the absolute worst night of sleep I ve ever gotten. Granted, it s an old building, but the footsteps above and voices in the hall weren t buffered in the least. I must have been awoken at least 20 times. If you decide to take the risk and book, pack ear plugs! The bath fixtures are cool, but aren t commercial quality so there is rust and they are loose, etc. The check-out process was understaffed. It took :25 before someone could help tag luggage for the day and :20 for coffee.

Cons:

I'm not sure why this hotel is classified as a four-stars hotel!!! My check-in time took one hour to be exact because their system was down, no master key or a night shift supervisor. Poor girl allowed me to go behind the reception to help her shut down the system. After an hour, master key appeared from nowhere and we were able to check in.
In the morning, the noise of your neighbor upstairs will wake up so you can have a fresh early start. The toilet was very small and all the beds are queen.

Pros: location, clean and staff.

The bar and restaurant are great but the rooms are horribly noisy. The first night I was pummeled by a nightclub. It seems most of the rooms with outside windows are near this club. They moved me to a "quiet room" with a window on a light well shaft. But with paper thin walls where the next room's TV sounded like it was on my head. Fortunately after I pounded on the drywall the guy turned down the volume. Until the next night, when I had to call the front desk to get him to turn it off.

Very cool hotel in a perfect location!

Very cool hotel in a perfect location!

We went to the Mardi Gras 2018 in New Orleans and decided to choose this hotel.
The bar offers a wide selection of craft beers and cocktails.
The hotel is located in the Warehouse District, adjacent to the French Quarter.
Bourbon Street is about a 10-minute walk away.

The rooms have a certain charm and are clean and tidy ... definitely with a view book.
You have to like the design (see photos) ... we were absolutely satisfied.
We booked without breakfast, so I can not give any details.
There are enough places to have breakfast in the immediate vicinity.

The hotel across the street is a parking lot (about $ 30 per 24 hours), which was very convenient for the Mardi Gras.
A valet parking is also offered by the hotel.
Some Mardi Gras trains pass right in front of the hotel.

I have never stayed in a hotel (including many in the French Quarter during New Year's) that lets in so much noise. I don't know if the walls are exceptionally thin or what, but I haven't slept at all since I have been here. Maybe there is just crazy partying going on in this neighborhood with loud DJs spinning techno dance music for 12 hours a day... Do not stay here if you want to hear yourself think, let alone sleep.

So far feel so cheated!!! I want to cry and get my money back. They must have saved the worst room just for us! So exhausted from our trip, wanting to just go to bed...but first we have to help make it. The sheets had grit, grime, hair and God knows what else. Now, here it is 2:41am. Worst choice we could have made to stay here. I sure hope they make it right.

The toilet in our room would not flush unless I filled it with an ice bucket full of water each time. Very large room but only one chair to sit on. The staff was not congenial. We had to wait 25 min for the vallet to deliver our car and then we had to wait longer for him to retrieve our checked luggage. We were not allowed to retrieve our luggage ourselves. Plus we were told if we wanted to go get our car ourselves we would be charged extra. That would have been added to the $45 daily vallet charge. Will not stay there again.

The place was okay, but not worth the price paid. Towels were old and a bit tattered, room with a window was just a window to a space about 3 by 3 looking directly into another room, and about 4 stories high. No sunlight could get in with the building height. The staff were helpful when we asked them questions. The breakfast situation was less than desirable, with the drip coffee machine being messed up the first two days we were there... after that just gave up and started ordering espresso drinks. Breakfast is not served until 7am, including coffee service- too late in my opinion, especially if you have somewhere to be in the morning. No coffee machine in room. Bed was comfortable, shower was hot, room was clean, but I believe we paid too much for what we got with this place.

This hotel is so amazing in almost every way - amazing staff, great atmosphere, beautiful space. Up until this evening, I'd have given them five stars. However, no one made us aware that the restaurant across the street turns into a very loud club in the evenings. Even with ear plugs (which they provide at the front desk, meaning they are aware of how loud it is), it was literally impossible to sleep. I understand it is New Orleans, but the music is so loud that it shakes the windows and floors of the hotel and ear plugs do nothing to help the problem. The lady downstairs was kind enough to try to accommodate a new room request, but they were too full. It is a shame - the rest of the experience has been so classy and positive. Be aware that if you have a family or if you are not a person who parties heavily, you will have a miserable weekend. Our plans tomorrow are likely ruined as a result of this oversight.

Very interesting, artsy hotel with award-winning restaurant Compere Lapin off the lobby. Staff were all great. Important - about half the rooms are interior rooms with no window. Really, no window at all. Request exterior room if you want a window. Rooms in Lafayette building can be very noisy.

Nice rooms and generally a good stay but hotel fundamentals are very off detracting from the experience:

- ran out of minibar keys for the first three days of stay;
- website does not send confirmations of booking;
- desk staff are unclear on actual room rates (the front desk quoted me $500 a night against a room which is priced at $250 online);
- oddly penny pinching, demanding a $20 late checkout fee on a ~$2000 reservation; etc.

Downstairs restaurant has great service but an odd breakfast menu which has hot food but no meats....

This was my first time visiting NOLA and I could not have asked for a more unique, comforting and accommodating hotel! We stopped through here on a road trip form Utah to Georgia with our three dogs. This hotel was the first stop our dogs finally calmed down, they felt just as at home as we did. I want to say a huge thank you to Brittany at the front desk for answering my vast plethora of questions with no issue. I would love to visit NOLA again and if I get a chance to, I will definitely be staying at The Old No.77 Hotel & Chandlery.

room really makes you feel like youve time traveled a bit. clean with 60's retro styling with modern touches. impressed with organic soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The front desk check in and check out was super efficient with no problems even booking from a 3rd party source. Again awesome and interesting room all the way to the leather straps on head boards.
Valet is a bit pricey though

good location. right by harrahs and some great food places and right next door to Barcadia.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful lobby and restaurant/bar on ground level. My partner and i stayed here for 5 nights, loved our room. PLEASE make sure you double check if u have a room with a view. Luckily we had a view but if you dont check you may end up with a room in the center or sides of the building which have no windows, just a passage for some natural light. Not sure what those rooms are like. Still recommend staying here and was well priced.
