Absolutely the best experience we had! Hotel looks stunning after remodeling, service is exceptional and all crew is so helpful and friendly. We arrived 6 hours earlier than a check in time just in hopes to leave our baggage there and were given a room right away! We needed a taxi early in a morning to go to airport and they provided one within 5 mins of request. Great location, close to all main points in a city but also away from craziness. Would definitely stay there again if visiting there!

Beautiful hotel. Very nice staff . Location is just an easy walk from the french quarter and street cars .We had a fantastic time .Had room service for breakfast 1 day and it was super yummy!

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, particularly Latasha, Alan, and Justin at the front desk. They knew my face and name very well. Keith, the Marketing Director, even took the time to show me the new lobby that is under construction. The rooms were beautiful and updated, and the cleaning staff was awesome. I really enjoyed my stay there and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in an affordable hotel in NOLA.

I will say that the walls are a little thin, but it really didn't affect my sleep, personally. Still, I could see other guests potentially being bothered by it. Also, the breakfast was simple - bagels, muffins, cereal, milk, water, orange juice, and coffee - but, I'm certain it's because they're under renovation. I'd like to experience their continental breakfast once all of the construction is done, for sure.

Thank you, Ambassador Hotel, for making my first trip to the Crescent City a memorable one!

We enjoyed our stay at Old No 77. Customer service was good, the room was clean, it was reasonably quiet. The only complaint was there were no bath towels. We got out of the shower and had to use hand towels. But we called the front desk and they had some sent up right away.

We stayed in this lovely hotel for a wedding weekend. The hotel is unique and quaint. Service and hospitality was wonderful! As part of the wedding party, everyone from the front desk to ball hop and especially housekeeping were so friendly and accommodating. The locating was perfect for getting to the Quarter and all around. I would certainly recommend staying here for any visit.

So far service and location are amazing. We are here for Mardi Gras and many of the parades are within a five minute walk. Room was dark dud to lack of a real window and had some noisy neighbours but the hotel was very accommodating and offered to switch our room.

My family was coming into town for a wedding. I was so excited to stay here as the cool aesthetic was different and fun and the location was close to everything. However, as I type this I am being kept awake by noisy / drunk people outside, in the halls and above me. I understand the hotel was a converted warehouse, but there is ZERO insulation between the walls. My poor baby son keeps getting woken up. I found the bathrooms weren t as clean as they could be and a large, dead cockroach was in the middle of the floor when we checked in. Good thing my son didn t pick it up. This is only night one of my stay and I m thoroughly disappointed. I would not recommend for families or if you aren t a heavy sleeper. And now I have to edit that work began outside my window at 530 AM!!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!!!! Why am I paying for a bed when I cannot sleep!?!?!?

Bellhops were rude, room wasn't clean, housekeeping didn't leave towels when they took the used ones... Lots of little issues. Booked it because the lobby/common space looked amazing but that did not translate to the rest of our stay.

This was a phenomenal hotel at an amazing price. Half as much per night as other hotels with twice the culture. There is a whole vibe they have going on here that feels old but modern. The bed was super comfy. The staff was beyond polite. The food in the Compere Lapin was delicious and the homemade peach ice cream will be something I come back for.

Pros: location! Lovely little boutique hotel with artsy feel in warehouse district.
Beds are extremely comfortable!
Decor is unique and inviting.

Cons: lots of dogs, pet friendly hotel which is great, but the dog in the room next to us barked all night. I mentioned it to the hotel desk, but not much could be done. It proceeded for most of the next day and night.
Parking is expensive at $40 a night...without self parking.
They couldn t find our reservation which I had all the info for...they then had us under the wrong name (we booked two rooms with Priceline under my name) it took a bit, but they finally got it right.
There was a half empty bottle of jack danials in the stocked mini fridge, and other missing items.
There was hair in the bathtub (more than 1) which made me question if it had actually been cleaned.
When we returned from lunch our second day...the room keys did not work. Quick trip to the desk and they didn t know why it had been deactivated.

Ultimately, I would recommend this hotel for a fun and hip getaway. Cleanliness could be improved upon, and hotel should have a policy that prevents other guests from being disturbed by constant barking dogs. We saw at least 4 extremely large dogs at the hotel over our 2 day stay.

Just tried to check in....the front staff sent us to the wrong room twice. First was 2 full beds, then 1 full in a non window room, neither of which we signed up for. Finally after an hour and 3 tries we got into a room, that is still not what we paid for. Its a king (finally close to a queen, but still not right), and smaller than advertised.

We will NEVER come back. The staff is seemingly incompetent AND indifferent, which means that's what the owners are and how they will treat you!

ZERO stars!

I am here this weekend with my family making sure everything is in order for April. We stopped in to check the hotel and see if we could possibly see a few of the rooms our guests will be staying in. We were greated warmly by the front desk and we were in awe of the atmosphere. We spoke with Joshua, who was so accommodating and ended up taking an hour or so of his time to show us multiple options of their rooms. The rooms were charming and beautifully decorated! Thank you Joshua for your time and patience ! We are so excited we stumbled upon this hotel!

I'm not sure why everyone had such a bad time here. I was very nervous staying here based on all the reviews, but I was rooming with a buddy and we were staying with the rest of our group.

Now, is this a five star hotel? No. Is the A/C a little loud? Yes. Its a vintage style new orleans hotel with exposed brick. What were you expecting?

That being said, here's my review. We stayed in room 281. The room was pitch black, even at mid day, which is great for sleeping in after late nights in new Orleans. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the AC, albeit loud, kept the room very cool.

It was easy walking distance to some warehouse district bars, harrahs, and bourbon. All the streets headed back that way are well lit and appeared pretty safe. An added bonus is that the hotel bar is open very late, and has several great bartenders, particularly Lindsay . All in all, this was a good place to stay.

Was a great stay, close to everything, easy to walk around or get on the trolley. Staff were all very friendly. Oddest part was hearing what sounded like someone walking around our room with the creaking floor boards while we were wide awake watching TV.

This was so disappointing. We paid $280 a night to stay here. This place was nostalgic for us as we stayed 8 years ago when it was the Ambassador. There was an industrial chic feel to it that was super charming back then. Wood floors, brick wallls, exposed piping. This hotel has now been renovated with motel 6 carpeting and Sheetrock. We specifically asked upon reserving our room that we get one with wood floors and brick walls. A deluxe king was what we were told we were getting with wood floors and brick walls. TWICE we were given carpet and Sheetrock even after switching rooms. On top of this, a pipe busted in the lobby, and for the duration of our stay, industrial blowers were going in the lobby. Not exactly a place you d want to sit and have a drink. We were so disappointed. For all of the options in New Orleans, your $300 is best spent elsewhere.

Great hotel with an excellent rustic refurbishment. Our room was spacious enough but not overly so. The bed was very comfortable and good amenities. Staff were friendly but the highlight was the great coffee (being an Australian coffee snob, this was hard to find in the US) and the restaurant, which was nothing short of outstanding for both the selection of beverages and the top quality meals and service.

Charming hotel. Great location. The restaurant 'Compere lapin' has a distinguish menu and the cocktails at the bar are amazing. The rooms are clean and classy. I will definitely check in there another time.

chic decor, very friendly staff. Only complaints are that the bathroom lighting is pretty dim and our ceiling fan was really, really slow on the highest level. Also... needed more outlets. Beds were comfortable, room was clean. Loved the shower!

A cool new hotel. The bar / restaurant, Compere Lapin, has incredible craft cocktails. I had the donuts and pastries in the morning which was divine. They make these in house, fresh. I did not get a chance to have dinner here, we were told reservations are needed since it's pretty popular. Make sure to verify that your room has a true window. We requested a window, and paid more for it, but it was a false window that merely looked at the interior of the building. The queen beds are not true Queens, I was told that they are called "creole queens" and they are closer to the size of a full mattress. So spring for the King room, if you need the space. After switching to a room with a true window, the experience was great. The hotel is attractive and fun. The staff is friendly. One other caveat though, we were out all day long and the housekeeping staff did not show up until 5pm to clean the room.... Definitely call for the service to get it done.

I'm really baffled at the negative reviews for this hotel. Stayed there last week and had a fine time. The location is prime, within walking distance of pretty much everything in the French Quarter. The room was clean, comfortable, and modern. No view to speak of, but honestly, I was just there to sleep and bathe. The bathroom was a little tiny, but no one to my knowledge has ever died from that. Yes, there was construction taking place on the lower level, but it had no real impact on my 3 night stay. My one issue with the housekeeping staff is that we had to request wash cloths, so each time they'd clean the room, our wash cloths went with them. The lobby/valet/housekeeping staff were all extremely friendly and courteous. I would gladly stay again, providing it remains within my budget.

Non traditional rooms...I believe it was a warehouse converted to a hotel. Everything was very clean...nice workers...and it had an interesting feel to it. It is a touch small...and the bathroom leaves a little to be desired. Unique...but I wouldn't want to spend more than a night or two.

Very thoughtfully appointed amenities. Great customer service from the moment you walk in the door.
It has an authentic vintage feel throughout. And the neighborhood is fantastic. A combination of five star restaurants bars and art galleries I think makes it the best my favorite neighborhood in the city.

Ambiance, decor, and location are all top notch. The hotel's unique style made our stay more memorable and special than a night at a run of the mill chain. The downside was noise. The hotel is in an old building, and soundproofing seemed non-existent.

Very charming hotel with reasonable prices, a nice restaurant and not far from all the excitement of the French quarter but also far enough away if you just want to relax at their great bar or any of the other great establishments within walking distance of the hotel. The aquarium of the Americas is within walking distance as well as the beautiful river front on the mighty Mississippi River.

Wonderful experience. Very appealing to art and history lovers. Beautiful decorations are incorporated throughout the hotel and the rooms. The decor and furniture in our room gave it a "steampunk" feel, which made an enjoyable experience. Very friendly staff.

Stayed here for one night. Nice comfy beds, staff were gracious and helpful. And the rooms were quiet even though in the middle of downtown. Will use them again next time in New Orleans.

After reading the reviews, I will admit I was very nervous to stay here. After arriving, I am so glad we did. We did not pay for Hilton quality, so we did not expect it. The front desk was very friendly when checking in. They always answered all questions that we had.

Our room had a king size bed, wooden floors (which were very slippery so please be careful), exposed brick on the wall facing the window, a half decent size bathroom, a sink and mirror outside of the bathroom in the room. We stayed in the Lafayette side of the hotel, which was very quiet. Our window faced the outside street so we were outside of the noise.

The maids always had our room clean. Never had an issue with bugs, hair, dust, etc. When we got up in the morning and went out, our room was always done by the time we got back.

The free breakfast had your normal food. Cereal, fruit, toast, assorted muffins, coffee, etc. The staff was always restocking and cleaning the breakfast room.

There was a small gym in the hotel, as well as a business center. There is also a sports bar attached to the hotel that was very good. It was not place to order gourmet food, but it was a good place to grab a quick bite to eat.

The hotel was within walking distance of everything. Harrah's casino was 2 blocks away, Canal Street about 5, St Charles Streetcar about 4 blocks, Riverwalk about 4 blocks, and Bourbon Street about 5-6 blocks.

For the price that I paid, I am very happy with my hotel stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that will be traveling to the area and does not want to pay a fortune for a hotel room.

Great location, but if you plan to take your puppy think twice cause you will finish in a room completely different than you booked. They don't have complimentary coffee or tea in a lobby you need to pay for everything. Bottle of water one day is free the other they will charge you 5$

Never again. This was supposed to be a boutique hotel but I would not give it more than a 2 star rating. Cleanliness was horrible and breakfast was poor that cost an additional $9 for bagels, coffee and muffins.

Stayed here with two friends and had a truly regrettable experience. The hotel is very stylish and beautifully decorated in a great location. However, during our Saturday night stay, there were many issues and they appeared totally understaffed and unable to handle a sold out evening. First, we waited nearly 20 minutes and paid $36 for the one valet to take our car. Once we checked in, we were informed that even though we booked a double room they had none to put us in and instead were stuffed into a small single directly off the lobby. The room was small and not as clean as you would expect for the price. A roll away bed was brought in with a completely unacceptable mattress, not kidding, filthy, with stains and a 3 foot wide rip in the seam. When we requested a new mattress, the next one wasn't much better and we had to ask multiple times for bedding. These delays made us late for dinner. When we returned from our night out at midnight, the lobby was loud and chaotic late into the night. We made a noise complaint but it remained loud. If you stay here, be sure not to stay in a room near the lobby. This hotel was also totally overpriced for the service received. It's a shame because we were excited to stay in such a modern looking stylish hotel, but our expectations were not met at all. When we left in the morning, valet took another 20 minutes to retrieve our car, despite requesting it ahead of time, and even though we saw several cars brought to the front of the hotel, for some reason ours was parked around the block on a side street with no explanation. I would not recommend this to anyone, most certainly not families or friends sharing a room. Save yourself a hundred dollars, stay at a nearby marriott property, where it will at least be clean and you'll get decent customer service and a free breakfast. Apparently trendy decor does not a great hotel make.

This hotel is an industrial, minimalist stay with a strong focus on local art, to include a gallery on the first floor and goods and paintings for sale by local artists. It has an excellent atmosphere and it's a very cool hotel.

My husband and I stayed here twice - on the way to a TDY assignment and on the way back. We LOVE that it's pet friendly without an exorbitant fee - and even despite the fact that we saw no less than 5 dogs during our stay, everything appeared super clean. I would recommend this place to any of our friends & family with pets because it relieves a huge burden of stress to have a stop like this en route. I really can't overstate how big a deal this was for our peace of mind while travelling, that I would without question direct people here if I know they travel with their pets, though I would absolutely suggest it even to those who aren't.

On our second stay, our bathroom did not have any bath sized towels for the shower. We only had rags and hand towel sizes. They were brought up at our request, but obviously an oversight like that kind of makes you consider what else may have been neglected.

Overall, though, I was fully satisfied with our stay and it's absolutely our New Orleans go-to when we're travelling with our cat. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone passing through, with or without pets. :)

Went for an art gallery showcase! Super classy bar, lots of sitting area in the lobby and very accessible (not far from Poydras Street). The door attendants were very nice and helpful as well!

Love this place and stay here every time I'm in NOLA. You can stay in a big box hotel in Cleveland or Hartford...but when you come to NOLA, please stay in a local joint. Great vibe, great ambiance. You won't be disappointed.

Overall, enjoyable. Nice beds. The shower was the best part; it was an overhead shower. They don't have complimentary breakfast like most places that charge this much. The worst part was no parking, so you have to pay $36 a night if you do valet.

Awesome hotel. Crazy view out the room window. Could not have asked for a better stay. The off the wall room decor complimented the area. Stay here for sure. Side note, there were strange sounds at night.

Amazing

Our experience started with the indifferent front ...

Our experience started with the indifferent front desk clerk who checked us in and told us there were no rooms available as check in is 4 pm but did offer to call us when a room was ready. We were sitting in the lobby the entire time within eye sight of the clerk but never got a call. Of course at 4 pm a room was available - who knows how long it was ready. The room itself was ok - well except for the workman just outside in a man lift working on the building's exterior wall When I opened the curtains the workman was right at the window looking back in - would have been nice to get a little warning from the hotel staff.

We only found one bathrobe so my wife called the front desk to ask for another one. The staff did deliver a second robe while we were out at dinner but decided a belt was not needed. Finally got the belt for the second robe the next day.

The towels were small and scratchy and one even had a hole in it. I guess that is how they keep people from stealing them - who would want one. I think I've had better towels at Super 8.

My last complaint is that there was no in-room coffee service. While several years ago that would have been the standard, these days even low budget hotels provide some so you can get your first cup of coffee before you get dressed. Not this hotel - you either have to order from room service or put on some clothes and go down to the lobby.

All in all the hotel service and amenities were not in keeping with its price point. We will not stay here again when we return to NOLA
