I ve been a Nixon customer for quite awhile now. I have a Watch with the leather band and after 4 years of wearing it everyday it finally came time to replace the band. Since I wanted the band to be placed correctly and with the right part, I thought what other place to send it than the OEM. After I sent the Watch in they changed the band and did the service battery. From a service standpoint, the fact that they are the OEM, you would think quality of the product and service provided would be top notch. That was not the case at all. When I received my Watch back it was wrapped up all nice and they even included a dust bag and dust cloth with it. However the thing I noticed was they did not even take the time after taking the old band off to wipe the Watch down. This seems like it would be a simple task but after speaking with Nixon customer service, sending your Watch in for service they will not clean, just a simple wipe down, before putting on the new band. I work in a customer service environment where we do service on customer items and it s almost common sense that you clean and make the product look like new when returning it.

I bought a watch from Nordstrom rack and noticed the band was a little small. I gave them a call and with out delay told me they would have extra links sent to me and at no charge. Way to have customer service I can't wait to get another. Watch looks sharp too! The Sentry line is great.

Amazing service and the best watches, hands down. I've been wearing theirs for 15+ years and if you're a Nixon fan, you've got to check out the shop. Super friendly, and it's just great to see all their watches on display. You can build a custom watch here too. I've never felt pressured, always appreciated. They're VERY accommodating if you've got an old watch that has a problem. Services are quick and they do ya right if your watch is old enough that they can no longer repair/replace. Make your pilgrimage!

Just got my 51-30 and Mission back from servicing. I could not be more impressed, they are now back to perfect working order! They came to me in nixon bags with microfiber cleaning cloths with screen guards on them, they even gave me a new charger for my mission!! Extremely pleased with the level of service, I will without a doubt continue to buy Nixon watches.

The online order experience was great. The website was easy to navigate and simple to use. Problems came after the order.
I realized that the shipping address was incorrect (chrome auto-full) and I emailed their support team. It s been 6 days and 3 emails with no response until I called this morning. Representative was nice and apologized about everything however, now I have to deal with USPS. Nixon please fix your Toll-free number and Chat Service because neither of them work. Customer service hours are also very limited.

My 13 year old son walked dogs around our neighborhood to earn money for the Nixon surf watch. He bought the cheaper of the surf watches for a little over $100.00. Not even 30 days after buying the watch the silicone around the pin ripped off. Nixon wouldn't give his money back they only gave store credit and that particular watch is no longer being made and because there were no other surf watches at the price point he paid, his only option was to come up with $200.00 more to buy the ultratide and they only gave him that credit for 30 days. Luckily he was able to get another dog sitting job in that time and was able to earn the remaining $200.00 on top of the $100 in store credit to buy the ultratide. 3 months later and the $300.00 ultratide surf watch is broken. The same issue occurred, the silicone ripped from the pin that holds it together. I am disgusted that this company charges this amount of money for watches that continue to rip and brake apart. My daughter has had her target watch for over a year for $15.00 with absolutely NO issues. And the fact that we can't even get money back only store credit after the issues we've had is absolutely ridiculous and disgusting. Good teaching moment for my 13 year. The name doesn't make it better and clearly the price doesn't either.

Custom Nixon watch shop with small selection of other accessories. You can pick the face, strap and case, complete unique look by a great brand. I also get all of my Nixon batteries replaced here as well.

I recieved a Nixon Sentry in black with a brown leather band for my birthday back in February '19. After 3 months the inside of the band was rotting away and the second hand had fallen off. I work in a busy bar that's well known for it's hospitality- perhaps my fault in this is that I would expect someone else to hold themselves to the same standard I expect of myself, but I digress.

While, yes, I wore this watch every day and only took it off in water, I didn't realize when I recieved the watch that there's necessarily a difference between a watch that is pretty and a watch you can wear. I know now to not waste my money, or to suggest my wife to waste hers, replacing my Nixon. My real review is of their "Service Department".

I called the store to have them send me proof of purchase. I took a screen shot of the transaction in my wife's account activity. I sent the watch in early July '19 to have the movement fixed since, after 5 months, the second hand had dislodged itself, then embedded itself in the date window. I tried tapping it on a piece of wood to dislodge the second hand so it would still tell time while I was at work for the day. Silly me, not wanting to have to check the time on my phone, right? Well, that didn't work. So I tried adjusting the minute and hour hands away to get it to dislodge, but that's when the minute hand popped off.

After their technicians assessed the watch, they blamed the hands coming off on the marks around the bezel and the body of the watch- the ones the watch recieved from being worn every day as well as that whole tapping incident that my daily wear apparently caused. Cleary, daily wear is not what they intended I do with a watch- so they denied my warranty claim and expected I pay to fix it.

I selected decline service and recycle because clearly the parts assembled by the GARBAGE PEOPLE of Nixon are better off being given a new life- hopefully by someone with skill. Best avoid this watch, I'd say.

UPDATE. CHANGED FROM 1 STAR TO 5 STAR. Received my order after 11 days which during COVID times is the "new" norm. Thanks!! I only comment I would make now is that Nixon customer support phone does not work and Nixon's order updates aren't good. Track My Order still says that my order is processing. Work on this. Customers will be OK there will be a short delay as long as the customer is informed.

NOT SURE IF THEY'RE STILL OPEN? I recently made an online order. I waited the usual week for delivery. Nothing. Concerned, I emailed their customer support. Got the robo reply. Thought I'd give it a day but.. nothing. So I called the number on Nixon Inc website. No ring. Call was went directly to End call. I know it's COVID times but businesses are still selling online to make sales and make ends meet. Unfortunately, Nixon is not one of those companies. Do not order from this company till COVID is over or we, as customers, hear if Nixon is still in business. Stay with purchasing Nixon from Tilly's or some other 3rd party. Now I'm stuck with a purchase that is NOT being fulfilled and possibly OUT $200.

Bought a beautiful Nixon watch from Tillys for my husband for Fathers day. He opened and loved it. Could'nt set the day or time. I Tried to take back to Tillys for exchange, no I have to contact Nixon repair. Okay I sent the watch in for repair back on June 26, fedex next day, I have followed up every week and still no return of watch. 6 weeks and nothing! Love the brand and the style, but you just lost a customer!!

I used to love nixon till my most recent interaction. I have been a long time customer here and have a large collection of Nixon, namely automatics. I came here for a watch repair and the gents in the back store were very accommodating. They were able to fix my band and while having so much fun doing so, I decided to purchase the latest automatic they had. When I asked about purchasing certain items for my watch they said it was not a problem but would need to talk to the supervisor.

When I spoke with the supervisor I explained the situation but she quickly shot me down. I understand she was following protocol but I explained that it would be a one time deal and what I wanted to do in the first place. It was to honor our brave men and women in uniform and serve as a reminder the sacrifice they unselfishly gave.

Again I was abrutly told no and essentially sent me on my way. I know for a fact this has been something they have done several times in the past but not sure why I was being pushed away. Honestly it made me feel sad that they would not help someone who has been such a supporter of Nixon and because they just didn't seem to care.

I can no longer support a company that doesn't support their customers properly and doesn't support the men and women in uniform. Breaks my heart.

Received a NIXON Mission ($400) as a gift from my brother and surf compadre before he moved home to Italy.
Such a great guy and such an amazing gift...he knew I had been eyeing it for a while and was hoping to level up from my Vestal Brig, my surf surf watch.
In less than 1 year, The Mission watch was dead and wouldn t charge...
But it was under warranty...so boom, I m good right?!
WRONG.
1) Apparently, Nixon does not stock the parts to fix the watch.
2) NIXON has no intention of ever stocking the parts to fix the watch.
3) NIXON no longer offers the watch.
4) Yet dealers/surf shops still carry and sell the watch even though NIXON knows they cannot fulfill the repair or replacement clause of their warranty...

shady much?

Instead, they default to another clause!....

I can have any bag or watch up to the $400 price point of the watch.

Let s me be clear.

1) I ONLY wear watches for tides. (I ve hated wearing a watch my entire life)
2) I have a tide watch in my Vestal that has an infinitely better display from anything NIXON is carrying at the moment... and I wear that in the water.
3) The Mission was my surf/dress watch... that I could wear in the water.
4) I have absolutely ZERO interest in a NIXON bag.

One of my favorite students works for NIXON and I can t say a bad thing about any person I ve dealt with, however, I would never purchase another watch from them... this is shady.

Errrr hold that thought!
Just got off the phone with Erin... customer service lead and queen of condescension.
You gotta love these passive aggressive Californians

Don t do customer service there princess if it s not in your personality to actually be nice, helpful and empathetic.

Fake people suck.

They took my watch and I m essentially out $400.

I run a surf camp in the summer and use Nixon "Low Down ll" watches as they show the tide. The watches are fine until they need a battery or repair. Instead of Fed Ex shipment to Nixon as one frustrated reviewer wrote about, I drive mine to the Encinitas headquarters in hope that this will speed repair/batter replacement. No it hasn't.
I have three of these watches and they always seem to have issues. My current all-back model is still stuck on Standard Time and will not allow itself to be reset to Daylight Savings Time. I have taken it to surf shops and they agree it needs repair. Although the watch is not old, I hate to take it in as it will be "forever" before I get it back.
I have tried to support this local business but will probably just go back to Rip Curl or Freestyle. Amazingly, to get a battery replacement for a Freestyle watch, I had to send it to New York but still had in back in 10 days... great customer service. With Nixon, you will wait.

Small shop behind the HQ. Small selection nothing too special about it. The people that work there were very nice and pleasent to deal with. Bought a smart watch, took them a day to put it together but when I picked it up it only had 35% battery. I could see that if I picked it from the counter but if you need a day to put it together and customize it at least fully charge the battery. Also the Nixon bands are a bit short, they have optional larger bands for an added price. I would like to see bands just a bit longer.

Nixon has the single best customer service I have ever experienced.

A month or so ago, my girlfriends watch needed a new clasp. (3rd Nixon watch we had purchased because we like them so much).

They sent the part for a couple dollars that came within two days and also sent a freaking hand-written postcard from our customer service rep referring to topic in our discussion!!!! WOW!!!

If that wasnt enough, shortly thereafter the battery on my original Nixon needed replaced. Fortunately, we live close to the Nixon headquarters. I brought it in where they serviced it and changed the battery at no cost while also providing extremely friendly customer service!!!

Amazing. In a world where customer service is going down the drain, Nixon's support and product is unparalleled.

Nixon used to be an awesome company. I've been wearing their watches for years and own 11 of their watches, 8 which are 51-30 styles. Recently I had a small problem with one of my watches and after shipping it to them, they wanted $195 to repair. The watch has been worn maybe 6-7 times and the crown pulled completely out of the watch case. I was blown away at how terrible their support for longtime customers has become. It was obviously a small fix since I found a local watch store that repaired it for $55. Learn to keep your loyal customers happy Nixon or you won't have many left.

Brought my Nixon in for a battery change, the lady in fronts very nice and helpful. She told me everything that was going to happen and good thing I brought it in because if you change it yourself or go to a different place to change the battery, your watch won't be waterproof anymore. The lady grabbed it, took down my info, and that's it. 5 days later I received the watch in a awesome Nixon carry bag with a Nixon silk cloth for wiping it down. I recommend anyone with a Nixon to go or send their watch directly to Nixon for any problems/battery change.

My band faded from the sun. I took the watch to the Encinitas store. They say it can be replaced under warranty. They keep it, then I get an email saying they don't have that band anymore so I get a $75 credit towards a new watch. I complain, then they offer to replace the band with a similar color. I say ok. Then I get an email asking for $48 to replace the band. I paid well over $100 for this watch. Now they want me to pay another $48 for a replacement band...I just told then to send me my watch back.

The very friendly staff changed my Nixon watch battery in just a few minutes. They even pressure test it after to confirm it is still water resistant. Price is fair and the small showroom is very well presented. What's not to love about a locally made, well designed, affordable, and stylish watch?

Been a avid supporter and fan of Nixon since 2005. True story, first thing I bought upon graduating from Boot Camp was a Nixon All Black Rocker. I flew all the way from Guam to visit Nixon HQ! Been there twice now and every visit, I end up buying a watch! Diana was awesome! Super professional and helpful! Keep up the great work! And stay classy San Diego!

My Mission Smart Watch developed a leak -- the customer support team (especially Chris) took great care of me and the team in the store was great as well (special shout out to JP!).

I was a fan, and now I'm an evangelist -- these people will treat you right and stand behind their products!

There watches are great. I received nothing but compliments on it . But when it stopped working within a year I went to their store in Encinitas. The service was fair at best .
BUYER BEWARE . I later learned that the warranty on their watches start the day the watch is made . Not purchased.
My $300 watch was going to cost me $150 to fix . It now sits in my sock drawer .
